*Ellie listened intently too what the others said. This challange wasn't going to be solved by the right of combat, so it seemed. Rather by vote. Each one gave their plans on which direction they would take the people of Mandalore.*
*There was only one problem with this in Ellie's mind. She didn't know anything about these people. Both were passionate in their ideals and loyal to their people. However, she did agree with Torin. Symbols didn't mean anything if you didn't have a plan to back it up.* "The plans you both laid out have their finer points worth considering. However, I agree with the Aliit'alor of clan Bralor. Just like symbols, a plan can mean very little if you can't back it up with results, and I'm curious on how you plan on going about that." *She glanced between the two to gage their reactions.* "No disrespect intended. Living on the edge of the outer rim has made it difficult to keep up with the other clans and who leads them."

NCO was technically late, but then his presence wasn't required so he technically wasn't invited either. He'd come to listen more than anything else, just to hear what would be said by the next Mand'alor regarding the future. He entered as Torin was speaking, and heard the request for plans. He moved through the hall, sliding along one side of the hall to get a better view. He recognized his sister's voice as she responded. He was mildly surprised she'd decided to take such a great task on, but knew she'd do it well. He didn't recognize the man who spoke next... NC was disappointed to find the man did little more to claim an ancient heritage and copy his sister's plan.
Perhaps they were of the same mind, but it never sounded good to parrot another's ideals. Ellie Ordo he did recognize, though only because of prior gatherings such as this one. Her question was well worded and would perhaps allow the parrot to redeem himself if he did in fact have a plan... Coming to stand near Ellie he considered saying anything, and decided it wasn't necessary. He'd remain quiet for now. He wanted to show Ellie the many programs and initiatives Aya had set for the II that was already achieving the Aya's stated goals for the mando'ade within the Imperium. But cutting in would be rude, and Aya could speak for herself well enough. Instead he stood at parade rest, his helmet under one arm, his ears flowing down his back. His glistened slightly, as was common for many amphibious species, and was dull brown in hue. His eyes were trained on the two contenders for the helm, stood high on their stalks as a subconscious display of his interest and it's intensity.

Clan Ordo's question was a pointed one. One she had plenty of ammunition to reply to.
-Aya (in Mando'a) Sixty eight years ago, Clan D'Ordinii consisted of my father & less than a dozen of his closest supporters. Eighteen years after that, when I was born, the ranks of the clan had grown to thousands. By the time his body started to fail him from a genetic condition, forty years ago, millions had flocked to his banner. Over those decades, I grew under his support & testing. By the end of his life I ruled the clan in all but name. Last year, when the unfortunate assassination of my father succeeded, The clan was over six billion strong.
In truth, she had been more or less running the clan for the last thirty years, though always as her father's representative. It had well prepared her for ruling on her own, though she often found she missed the ability to resort to a higher authority if needed.
-Aya (in Mando'a) Even the smallest & most remote of the D'Ordinii colony ships has more economic, fabrication & agricultural power than most other clans. There are hundreds of thousands such ships wandering the stars this very moment. Nor does that take into account the vast military fleet, or the incredible number of support & infrastructure based craft controlled collectively by the clan. Or the nearly equally vast private fleets privately owned by citizens of the Clan.
She paused to let the full effect sink in. Despite its size, the Imperium rarely focused much material in any one spot in time. A safeguard against incurring heavy losses. However, that same practice meant that few outside the clan really knew the full scope of what she commanded.
-Aya (in Mando'a) That is my plan. To bring that same kind of growth & prowess to every clan. The evidence of what I say is already in front of you. Or have you all forgotten the fleet gifted to the last Mand'alor? Or how a Clan factory ship leveled a mountain on Concordia to clean out a nest of Death Watch scum. For the elders among you. Have you forgotten the days when I was a child? Have you forgotten how the fleets of my father guarded the borders Mandalorian Empire against Jedi, Sith, Republic & Imperial battlefleets? Have you forgotten Ossus? Have you forgotten Concord Dawn? Yavin IV? Ordo? Kamino? Eridu? Mandayaim herself? Has the blood we shed to water the fields meant so little that it passed from memory within a single lifetime?

*Talrich was growing tired of the bold claims of both claimants. Uniting the clans, being a nation, becoming strong. It was a familiar song, and one the old Itera Clan Chief was tired of hearing. He had nothing against most of the other clans, but he was not about to sacrifice Itera lives or fortunes for the ambitions of D'Ordinii or Awaud. Clenching his fists at Anya's constant stream of "look how much better my clan is than yours" the old man was about a hairs breath away from throwing his support to Orrick when the last part of Aya's speech hits home. More specifically her claims of wanting the same growth for all clans that she had seen among her own. Her clan had thrived indeed, and if she truly meant what she said then maybe some of that experience could benefit his own people. Surprising even himself the old man stands and fixes his hard blue eyes on Aya D'Ordinii.* Itera Stands behind the claim of Aya of Clan D'Ordinii. *He pauses for a brief moment continuing his gaze* So long as she remembers that she is not a Queen. *With his peace said he resumes his seat, next to his shocked son. He had not planned to speak at this meeting at all, and he did not share his reasoning with Hector or the assembled Clans. It was no his job to convince people, but he had been convinced and spoken his belief, that would have to be enough.*

Torin listens attentively while the claimants each summarize their plans for the Mando'ade should their claim garner the most support. When both have spoken, in essence each proposing to continue on the course set by the last Mand'alor, the decision, at least in Torin's mind, comes down to which of the claimants possess the strength and skill required to ensure that the course is indeed held true.
Well aware that one of his weaknesses as a leader is to trust in experience and in what has proven to be effective in the past more than he does in the more imaginative, the more bold or the more new, Torin does not need to weigh his decision long after the claimants have both spoken; where Aya had wisely chosen to remind them all of her experience and the results of her past efforts with and without her father's guidance, it seems to Torin that Orrick had instead spoken only of his ancestor's deeds rather than of his own experience and accomplishments.
"Clan Bralor supports the claim of Aya Dizen Or'dinii of Clan D'Ordinii," Torin says, standing after Clan Itera's representative has spoken, and then returns to his seat.

*Ellie listened to Aya as she gave her list of accomplishments, which was longer than she expected. Regardless, it gained the support of both clan Bralor and clan Itera. The tables were quickly turning in favor of clan D'Ordinii. Ellie stood up and placed her battered buy'ce on the table facing Aya.* "Clan Ordo stands behind Aya of clan D'Ordinii."

Kaalin stood fast in front of the two potential Mand'alors, listening to everyone speak around the table. Each clan gave their opinion, but there was an overwhelming choice between them all. Kaalin reached behind him and grabbed his buy'ce firmly in both his hands. He moved closer towards the middle of the circle, now mere feet from the two.
"I believe we've come to a decision Ner vod. As leader of Clan Karr, I represent the most direct connection between Mand'alor and his people. Any crime or wrong doing during your leadership, will be met with a swift but deadly repercussion. With that being said..."
Kaalin moved his buy'ce into his right hand, palming it as if it was a ball. He quickly began to send it towards the ground, slamming the beskar against the duracrete below his feet. His body was now in a kneeling position with his buy'ce out in front of him. He kept his head low, his hand still gripping the warriors helm,
"I, Kaalin Karr of Clan Karr. Kneel before you...Aya of Clan D'Ordinii."
As Kaalin made his declaration, Kyrien followed in Kaalin's footsteps. He position himself off of his right side, adopting a similar pose as his Aliit'alor. The actions of Clan Karr made it clear, a new Mand'alor had been chosen.

With the last voice having spoken, rather dramatically (though she didn't have much room to talk given her own entrance), Aya nods respectfully to Orrick. Hopefully, he would stick around to be a general pain in everyone's rear. It would help to keep everyone on their toes & moving to have someone making a fuss.
-Aya Thank you, everyone. I must say it is refreshing to see the helm passed twice in a row without bloodshed. Hopefully, we can continue this new trend. I hereby take the title of Mand'alor the Bureaucrat. I don't plan on doing much leading, but I have a small mountain of paperwork stuffed into that desk in there.
This last was said jokingly, though it was fairly common knowledge that much of the opening of any new Mand'alor's reign was sorting through the paperwork of the last one.
-Aya One thing I know is outstanding is the matter of the mines in the process of being sold from myself personally to the position of Mand'alor. As some of you might realize, that puts me in the somewhat awkward position of owing myself money. In order to correct that issue, I hereby appoint the D'Ordinii delegation to oversee the liquidation the outstanding mines to any Mandalorian Clan. Without clause or condition. First come, first sold. Get them while they are going cheap folks.
She allowed the majority of the clans to move in that direction. After all it would be the first time in nearly sixty years that beskar would be legal to mine by people other than Clan Ordinii. Motioning to the Itera representative, she steps over to him.
-Aya I have a project I think you will excel at, if given the chance. If interested, I will meet you shortly in the Mand'alor's office in the 'baat. If you don't show, I will assume you aren't interested & move to my second choice.
Without waiting for much in the way of a reply, Aya headed out. She had a brand new title & several tons worth of datacards to sort through.

Talrich grumbles under his breath a little at the Karr representative's theatrical show, so much for her not being a queen. As the meeting starts to wrap up the old man is intercepted on his way to discuss mine ownership by none other than the new Mand'alor herself. As much as the old man hated being summoned he had to admit he was intrigued by her vague mention of projects. It wouldn't help to hear her out at least. He followed shortly behind her sending his son Hector towards the representatives to start negotiating for the purchase of as many mines as seemed reasonable.

And so the verdict had come to pass. Aya Ordinii was to be the new Mandalor. A decision that wasn't made lightly. Clenching his jaw, he placed his helmet on his head and bent a knee.
"Clan Awaud respects the decision made by the collective assembly. Clan Awaud will stand by and support you, Mandalore."
Hopefully this decision wasn't one that would later come back to haunt them. However, if it was, Orrick would be there to see it corrected. Until such a time, however, Orrick would loyally serve his new Mandalore without question. Unanimously defeated, while it stung, was nothing to hold a grudge over. It wasn't his time. Whatever wounds his pride and ego may have sustained, he was still loyal to his people. And he wouldn't be the one to cause an issue simple because he didn't get his way. He wasn't a petulant child, after all. He was a warrior and a Mandalorian. Rising to his feet, he motioned for one of his Clan members to enter the negotiations of the mines. Falling into step behind the new Mandalore, Orrick spoke from beneath his helm.
Is there somewhere specific you needed us, Mandalore?
Getting straight to work would be best right now. While he was disheartened by his fellow Mandalorians, he decided to put himself and his Clan to work as soon as possible. Dwelling on his recent defeat was pointless, and he new Clan Awaud could serve the new Mandalore purposefully.

She paused on her way out the door. Her own helmet still in her hands.
-Aya Nearby, just in case I screw up badly enough to need removing. You are the only one that stood against me, so you are the only one I will trust with that job. After I meet with the Itera clan, we will be able to talk more. For now, excuse me please.

Fortunately, Orrick had already donned his helmet, because what had just came out of Aya's mouth left a surprised look on his face. Not exactly an admission he thought he'd ever hear, especially not from her, but there it was. Regaining his composure, he nodded.
Understood.
Stopping his forward pace, he allowed Aya to proceed with her meeting with Clan Itera. Spinning on his heel, he strode across the hall and pinged his brother on his wrist comlink. All he did was send an encrypted message to Henoc, so he was still kept in the loop. Hopefully once they were done here, he could look at further building up Awaud's holdings and militia. And hopefully Henoc would have everyone assembled by the time he arrived back home.

A notification alert appeared on the comm link system of Kaalin Karr. It wasn't obvious how she got it, but it would seem she had found the comm frequency records in the Mand'alor's office somehow. The notification was fairly brief, but still detailed enough to limit the number of questions that would be needed to asked. If accepted, she was asking that Clan Karr travel to all the various nearby core worlds of the Mandalorian Assembly. While doing so, they would need to take stock of the local defenses, including numbers, common types & condition of the gear being used, & any fixed defensive installations. They should also be on the lookout for any spies or informants that might have been dispatched to gather intel on the MA.

It was official, a new Mand'alor had been chosen; Mand'alor the Bureaucrat. Most of the Vod didn't approve of his theatrics, but their opinion didn't matter to him. He wanted to show respect and professionalism towards his new Mand'alor. Shortly after Aya's speech, Kaalin turned towards his right hand man. The sudden giveaway of Beskar mines was definitely intriguing. He motioned with his hand towards Aya, and Kyrien made his way towards her. Acquiring a Beskar Mine for Clan Karr would certainly provide a boost in their supplies, and their economy.
Shortly after Aya departed, Kaalin's comm link began to chime. A mission for Clan Karr had been recieved, a smile draped across his face. His fingers quickly darted across his wrist, sending copies of Aya's message to Protectors across Clan Karr. Several small teams of Verd began to assemble, each destined towards a different planet. Their mission was simple, but of the utmost importance.
Kaalin placed his buy'ce on his head and made his way towards the exit. It would only be a cycle before his teams were across the stars, sending reports back of their findings.

Well that was done and done. NCO wondered if things outside this hall would transition as smoothly. He hoped it would, simply because he was to old now to do any good in a real fight. He was curious to see where each clan would fit in. He left the sale of various mines to the representatives, they had access to all the details much more readily available than he did anyway. NC had never been a smith, of any sort, he'd always been better at working with living tissues than metals. He was glad that Aya and his buir had been careful to maintain a contingent of smiths, both within the clan and just in general, that could work the ores properly. He idly wondered what a solid pair of M12s tricked out in beskar could do... He was sure he'd read some article or another where it had been attempted at least... He'd have to dig that out of the II databases later. He was pretty sure it'd been deemed far to expensive for production on any significant scale.
Enough of that, a drink for good fortune, for everyone's good fortunes, then it would be back to work for him, unless someone wanted his attention for some unfathomable reason.

The doors to the MandalMotors Hall began to open as a meeting was called, requested by Aliit'ator of the Fetts, Galaar. Various clan leaders, ranging from the large and small, and from across the territories of the Mandalorian Assembly, gathered for this congregation. Meetings had been few and far between, mostly due to the peace that the Assembly had enjoyed. Yet, actions were still performed in the midst of the peace. The Assembly was re-militarizing, raids were conducted, the economy was rebuilding, and more. All in an effort to continue the unity, founded by Mand'alor the Architect.
Galaar took his seat as one of the more prominent clans present at the Assembly. Those clan leaders, from Concord Dawn, took their seats behind him. The Fett had a major proposal to put for to the Assembly's members and one that he believed was to be of great benefit to the future of the Mandalorians. Among other things, he suspected there were other leaders that wanted to speak and propose matters in their minds too. Now was the best time for the Assembly to do what it did best, ensure the clan's voices were heard.

Aya was present as well, The demands of the office had meant that she had little enough time to return to her home & directly manage the issues that were cropping up there more & more often of late. The Ordinii envoy standing in for her as clan head was also present, as it would be weird to be trying to hold both positions at once. This way she could focus on doing what is best for the entire assembly, & the envoy would take care of what was best for the clan.

When the call had gone out, Damocles had traveled from Ordo to Mandalore to attend his first meeting of the Assembly as Aliit'alor of Ordo. A rather interesting change considering that the last time he had been here, he had been abdicating the Helm. He made his way into the assembly hall clad in his signature black armour, his blades sheathed firmly in place as he took a seat amongst the gathering crowd. Keeping away from where Aya, the current Mand'alor, was seated. He knew his presence would not go unnoticed, but right now he did not want to draw too much attention

Kaalin strode into the hall with a somber pace. He held his buy'ce under his left arm, while also holding an ale in his right hand. As he entered, he gave a slight raise of his ale to the other clan leaders, and continued his walk towards his seat among his vod. He entered the hall as the only representative from Clan Karr, as they were currently making preparations for a training exercise back home. Kaalin sunk into his seat and plopped his buy'ce onto the table in front of him. He took another glance around the room, smirked, and finished his gaze with a quick sip of his drink, anxious but eager to see what the meeting was all about.
