So to my surprise, a method I hadn't considered has alleviated one of my biggest woes: Using my smartphone as a wifi hotspot. I'd always thought it was a desperate last resort method, which was exactly how I used it. Turns out... it's strangely effective. So guess I'm still here, and guess we might be able to get this raid started sooner than expected.  |

hello, I was directed here by our Whills. I am wanting to pursue a storyline as a Jedi, something that I have never actually done it all my years of being on JvS. I was curious to see if there is someone that would take me on as an apprentice and work with me on a storyline. I look forward to your responses.

I would definitely be interested in helping you out in some capacity, Mike is retired however so wouldn't likely take on an apprentice, but if another master would maybe I could help find your character and bring you to them or something.

I know Kahn will be needing a master as well. Kinda got lost in limbo at the Corellian Jedi Temple. Definitely looking at trying to get this character going again.

That’ll be more than enough. I’m bumping up Kahn’s age and working on the idea that he spent the past five years doing classes and working with any advice given to him by other masters since none were available to take him as an apprentice. I’ll bring him to Felucia in hopes to find one, yet not, so he just goes on about what he was doing. He’s pretty smart and a quick learner. It allows him to keep up with abilities compared to an apprentice, just won’t have the direct focus teaching like them.

Alright, bit of an announcement ahead of time so this isn't just sprung out of nowhere. I'd been thinking about this idea for a little while and I think I might take advantage of the upcoming Sith raid to actualize it: I'd like to graduate from the Jedi Base into a fully-fledged actual Temple. With Felucia being the central headquarters of the Order, having that building be essentially a military base that's been constantly built/added onto as the central location is rather... underwhelming. At the same time I did think just out and out building a new Temple out of nowhere would be a bit excessive... but since the Sith raid is upcoming, it would give us an actual excuse. So here's what I'm thinking: While the Base won't get fully destroyed in the attack, it could end up just damaged enough that building from scratch is a better solution than just repairing the old Base. Also, to be quite honest, as old as this location is in JvS history, its layout is somewhat inconsistent and confusing even to me. Having a brand new Temple could alleviate that as well. What I'm looking for now are thoughts and suggestions. We'll likely carry over the majority of location types the base currently has, but if there's anything missing or ways to improve the current crop of locations, let us know. Note, the new Temple is likely to be built in a new location entirely, while the old Base would ideally be IC refurbished and reduced to a single thread. We could even (verbally) draw up a bit of a "floor plan" ahead of time as well, make sure everything fits, then have us a nice new locale. Thoughts? |

Felucia’s Base was never built with the intention of what it has been made into, and as such is poorly equipped for it. However the base has been destroyed and rebuilt and added to many times in the past... while I no longer write a Jedi and my opinion obviously means nothing now that you lot have taken over and are making it what you wish, I think that you should leave these locations in place. The base building itself, the balcony, the garden. Those three locations are considered iconic as they were carried over from 1.0, even the Facebook group and have been used many times and always included in He new designs when the base was destroyed. Everything else can be rebuilt or changed as needed. Just my thoughts.

As one of the Base's original RPers, your opinion does matter to me, however I'm not sure if I'd leave behind more than just the one thread for it. I'm mainly thinking of it from an activity standpoint. If it manages to maintain a lot of use after the transition, we could always ask for the additional threads to be unarchived, but it'd probably be best to leave it with just the singular thread afterward to start with.

Relax. Like I said, it won't be a full-scale "the entire thing is gone" destruction. It'll still stand afterward, but it'll fuel the need to make a true Temple catered to the Order rather than stick around in, as you put it, a base that's "poorly equipped" for being the hub of the Order. I don't want to out and out level such a historical place to the site's history.

From the sound of it I think rater than "the decision has already been made" it's more of a "this is the current plan unless given compelling reason to do something else" thing.

Lol... you’re talking about taking 10 or so boards down to 1... that’s destroying it. You’re changing the entire thing. To make it what? Another Yavin 4? Another Corillea? Felucia was a military base... not a place to raise your children and train your padawans.
