What is an Alternate Account?
An alternate account (alt) is any account used by an RPer who has more than one account. This is by no means discouraged. However, there are areas in which improper use of alternate accounts may cause problems. In order to prevent any player from intentionally or unintentionally gaining an unfair advantage, the following restrictions have been created:
Group Memberships: No RPer should have more than one alt set as a default member of a faction group. In other words, any given Role Player may have one character account set to their chosen in-character faction usergroup, but having multiple alternate accounts set to the same faction usergroup is against the rules. In addition, it is suggested that one specify your primary faction in the "Faction Affiliation" field of their profile, as this field is what will be shown on your posts.
Fleets and Forces: While accounts and characters linked to separate RP lines may each have their own forces, no two characters used by the same RPer may combine forces in any way, or support one another in battle, as this is a very blatant attempt to circumvent fleet limits. This includes having more than one character in a single faction with fleets. Alts with fleets should not even know each other, or have any friendly connections with each other IC.
How to Make an Alternate Account, and Why Make One?
Creating an alternate account is relatively simple, and can be used for several things. If you wish to create another PC character that has nothing to do with your main character, or you just think that the new character deserves its own profile, creating another account and linking it to your main one is a good thing to take advantage of. Learn how to create an alternate account linked to your main account by following the How-To guide here.
