She ran through the halls, alarms going off and lights flickering. She'd occasionally feel tremors throughout the area which ended up leaving some debris in her path around a few corners. After running for a few minutes, she finally came out into an open area as the hall behind her collapsed. She took a few breaths as her paced slowed and she walked out into the center of the bunker.
She had no clue what was truly happening. Some time ago, she had awakened in what she thought to be a hospital room unable to remember anything. Shortly after waking, she was lead to her room, which consisted of many weapons and bits of armor. She had fallen asleep, then awoke here in this base shortly before the attack came. She had been running around, trying to find someone who could tell her where she was and what was going on, though to no avail. That was how she ended up in this bunker. She was lost and confused with mountains of questions, the only thing clear enough in her mind was to survive.
All she had with her was her leather pants, and sleeveless shirt with a jacket, for which she was thankful. It was a bit chilly, though not too bad. A single silver lightsaber hilt hung from the right side of her belt.

At the sound of another presence in the hangar, Anya turned to find a young woman entering the large room. She didn't recognize the newcomer so the lightsaber in her left hand remained ignited, but she decided against immediately taking a combat stance. Better to present a strong front without immediately moving to escalate the situation. Behind her, a small transport was being loaded with supplies and as many of the base's personnel as it could hold, preparing to leave the planet before the imperials could intercept them. She didn't know who this woman was or why she was here, but she already knew that no one else could be allowed to board that transport. Oxygen scrubbers could only work so fast, and it was a long trip to the nearest friendly base. She faced the woman fully, holding the violet-bladed weapon casually at her side as she stood between her and the transport she would protect. Her knee-length coat kept out the worst of the cold and was the only item she had added to her usual garb, but the front remained unfastened in order to avoid restricting her movement any more than necessary.
"Who are you and why are you here? If you are a servant of the Emperor or seek to board this vessel, I cannot allow you to go any further."

Blaze saw the transport being loaded with Anya in front of her. At first, she didn't catch the woman's lightsaber ignited at her side, despite its obviousness. There were people here and that meant she could get some answers. She began walking towards them as Anya faced her fully.
It was then that the violet light and the steady hum of the saber became apparent in her mind. Her left foot slid back an inch or two and her body lowered itself just as much, her muscles tensing. Was she an enemy? Perhaps merely protecting the transport and the people getting on it? After all, she didn't know where she was so it made sense that no one would know her.
As she stood there, something echoed in her mind. She couldn't explain it. Was it merely being on guard? No, it was far too similar to when she had entered her room and saw all the weapons and armor. It was a feeling of familiarity, of certainty. But it was even more now, despite how faint it was currently. There were no words to describe the sensation that was starting to course through her. Taking a breath, she redirected her attention to the woman and the words that were spoken.
"I am..." She didn't have a name, not one she could remember. But yet, she remembered the sudden fire she got holding a weapon, the passion it brought. It would have to suffice as her name. "..Blaze. As for why I'm here, perhaps you can answer that." She didn't know who these people were or where she was. She had been asleep in her room, then awoke here. Maybe they had brought her here, kidnapped her for some reason. The thought made her tense more and raise her hands just below shoulder height. "I don't know who this Emperor is, but this place is falling apart and I have no intention of being buried here."

"I am sorry, Blaze, but I still cannot allow you to board this ship." Anya's knees bent and her feet moved, right shifting back and left shifting forward to place them in an altogether basic combat stance that would be familiar to anyone who had trained in Shii-cho, a category which very likely included everyone trained in the use of a lightsaber. "There is barely enough air for the journey as it is."
Her lightsaber remained at her side, despite the stance her feet had taken, though it did shift slightly to place the blade diagonally between Anya and blaze. The fact that her left side was leading indicated a defensive strategy, the blade positioned for quick deflections and parries rather than strong offensive blows. Then again, the stance itself was also not uncommon among users of Makashi, though the angle of the blade was all wrong for that style. Regardless, Anya was clearly expecting the other woman to press the issue with violence and was preparing for just such an eventuality.

Blaze watched as Anya's stance began to change, taking a combat stance. Her own fist tightened, though she held off on taking her own saber. She dropped her head and her golden eyes focused on the woman in front of her. "So, you expect me to just get buried alive here? As you can see.." She motioned to the collapsed door behind her. "..there is no way out, and I don't have any intention of dying. I'm sure you have a nice little seat on that ship don't you?"
Her right hand moved slowly from its place directly in front of her to just about a foot to her right, her fist loosening and letting her finger move a bit more freely. If Anya had a seat on the ship, she would have to fight her to acquire it. Either way, with what she had just said, Blaze expected a fight to break out, one way or another.

"No, I do not." Her answer was matter-of-fact, as though that should be the answer to expect in such a situation. If there was room, if the oxygen scrubbers would be able to keep up with the requirements, she certainly wouldn't turn down a seat on the escape vessel, but there was no more room and she was a jedi. She had encountered those that believed such a title only granted them the power that accompanied it, but for her it was much more than that. To be a servant of the living force was to do exactly that; serve. If she could allow herself to be so selfish as to deny life to an innocent when she could prevent that death, she did not deserve the title of jedi. Yes, it brought its own level of power, but it brought an even greater level of responsibility. "If there is a way off this planet for either of us, it is not on this ship."

Despite the truth, Blaze refused to see it. She couldn't. Did this woman really expect her to believe that there was no room and that she was simply here to make sure they left safely? It made no logical sense. With this place coming down, coming here to see them off before heading to another location made no sense. There had to be a place for Anya and if she had to defeat her to get that spot, then so be it.
Blaze was not familiar with the ways of the Jedi or how they were meant to operate, much less what Anya felt it meant to be a Jedi. All she knew was that a few days ago, she woke up in a hospital bed with no memory of her life and the last time she went to sleep she was safe then woke up here. Confusion and panic were the lines of her feelings, survival her only thought. For each woman would run a different truth that would clash against the other enough to devoid any explanation.
Quickly, Blaze's right hand moved to her saber and with a quick flick of her wrist, a thin, fiery orange blade emerged pointed at the ground in a diagonal 45 degree angle at her side. In that flash of a moment, something came over her. It was the feeling she had earlier, only stronger. It was more then a sense of familiarity, it was a sense of certainty. Suddenly, it came rushing back, the truth that she could fight and wield the Force. Her body remembered and thus brought the memories coming back. She then began to wonder if she fought, would it help her remember more? It would have to be a theory she tested later, after she survived this encounter.
Slowly and gracefully her saber arched around in front of her before she twisted her wrist to point the blade straight up. As it twisted, she brought it back to her right shoulder at shoulder height, her left hand moving to grip it as well. At the same time, her left leg arched around in front of her until her whole left side nearly faced Anya, the stance of the Ataru form. Her dropped as she focused on Anya, letting the Force flow through her to aid her coming actions.
"I will not die here. I must survive. Winning is the key to remembering who I am." Though her words were not necessarily quiet, they were not spoke with the same volume as her previous words. It seemed to be half a claim to Anya and one spoken to herself.

"That may be so." Her feet remained where they were, left forward with her weight shifted slightly back to her right, balanced on the balls of her feet to allow for ease of motion in any direction. She made no move to close the distance or initiate an attack, preferring instead to avoid combat if at all possible and refusing to be the instigator of the conflict that was ever more likely to arise. Nevertheless, she prepared herself for it and the blade of her lightsaber rose and twisted to face her opponent (the tip pointing to a spot somewhere above Blaze's head) as her right hand moved to grip the bottom of the hilt. The stance would once again be familiar to those that have trained in the rudimentary style of Shii-cho as one of the first a padawan learned. It possessed none of the coiled power of the Ataru and Djem-so stances, lacked the inherent poise and precision of a makashi stance, and would not create the impenetrable barrier of Soresu, but its strength was in its simplicity. It would be equally adept at offense as it would be defense, and while there was no inherent strength to it, there was no inherent weakness either. "But you will not board this ship."

Blaze's body tensed as fire seemed to burn in her eyes, Anya's words only driving the coming battle in Blaze's mind. There were no more time for words. The transport wouldn't wait forever and it wouldn't take long to realize a battle was taking place. That would only speed the transport's departure. She had to end the fight quickly and with Anya's stance, it was clear Blaze needed to make the first move. "We'll see."
In the blink of an eye, she took off at Anya, moving at almost her top regular speed, saber still near her shoulder. Just a few feet out of Anya's strike range, she began her attack. Stepping on her left foot, her left hand left the hilt and crossed in a wide arc to end up straight out at her left side. As her left hand reached its destination, she stepped on her right foot, letting it angle inward at a 45 degree angle. Her right wrist twisted down, letting the blade point downwards once again as she began to spin, her right hand beginning its arc in tune with the flow of her body. She started just outside Anya's strike range, meaning Anya have to step forward a step or two in order to make a melee attack, which would more than likely leave her wide open.
As the spin made it 180 degrees, she jumped into the air, using her right foot. Her height was just a couple of feet in the air, though she used the aid of the Force to carry her the distance she needed. The spin on a single foot like that was difficult to perform without plenty of training normally. Only with the use of the Force that Ataru required could she execute the move as was needed. Facing Anya again, Her saber spun around her to go above her head where her left hand gripped it as well. From there, she brought her saber down on Anya. Both feet would land at the same time, though her right would be a bit forward, her dominate side, to help push the attack, hoping it would be able to finish Anya quickly.
Should Anya defend with a typical saber block by bring her's horizontally overhead, Blaze would push down, using the impact to slow her momentum quickly at her saber as she bent down a bit, ready to make her leap. Using the Force to allow her a higher jump over Anya, she would make the jump, her saber slashing off to the right, straight out, though not in a way to harm Anya, her left hand going out to her left. She jumped over Anya, spinning so that she would be facing her when she landed behind. She brought her hand to cross her chest, the saber keeping out of attack range until she landed. As she landed, she bent her knees slightly and slashed out from her left to right hoping to cut across Anya's shoulder blades. Using the bend in her knees, she pushed back as she slashed to start gaining some distance, to keep out of a counter attack range or to simply stay back if Anya was already starting to make an attack against her. This, however, would limit how much contact her saber would have made on Anya, making it closer to a painful graze than a deep wound. Moving back a few feet, she would step back on her right foot and bring her saber up to her shoulder again, gripped with both hands, but with the blade pointing at Anya and running parallel with her own body, a variant stance of the Soresu form.
Should Anya stepped to Blaze's right as she came down, her blade would come close to reaching the ground without Anya's blade to arrest the momentum it had built up. Coming to a near stop, she let her saber curve up with a single right handed grip, coming up in a near vertical slash, only a slight diagonal angle to come of her right shoulder. With her slash, she would spin to face Anya, letting her right foot come behind her where she would take a few steps back to gain some distance, stopping with her right foot back and saber up in Soresu stance she would have down prior. Had Anya stepped to Blaze's left, the movement from Blaze would have been the mirror image, slashing up with her left hand and spinning back on her left foot. Stepping back, she would take the same stance, only with her left foot back and the saber held up at her left shoulder. She hoped by using the quick attacks of Ataru, she could keep her opponent on the defensive while she attacked, leaving her no time to evade, attack, or block if possible. In this, should Anya make the attack before her, she hoped her slash would succeed in defending her, otherwise she'd face getting the first injury.
Should Anya make any other form of evasion, attack, or defense, it would be all Blaze could do just to evade or block what came or find injury where she didn't want it.

She stepped back as the blade came down overhead, just far enough that her torso was out of reach of the blade, and brought her own blade up to meet the descending attack, though rather than attempt to block the powerful swing, she kept her weapon nearly vertical as the blades met and twisted both to Blaze's left, allowing the attack to maintain its full momentum as it passed harmlessly by her right elbow. The move was, once again, a very basic one, but it was cleanly efficient and left little room for error or unintended openings. By maintaining distance she forced her opponent to come to her, wasting time in movement that could otherwise be used for an immediate follow-up attack, and by countering the overhead blow with a parry, she also forced her opponent to take time to recover from the unexpected adjustment before once again finding her correct balance and footing. It wouldn't give her much, but every moment she prevented this woman from endangering the lives on that escape ship was a victory, and she only needed to occupy her until they could leave.

Blaze wasn't ready for the way Anya moved. At first, she was going to make the jump; however, though her momentum came to a stop near her lower body as was planned, her upper body kept moving, having nothing to press against. This caused her to start falling forward. Having gained at least a little footing, she jumped off between straight left and straight forward, seeking to quickly gain some distance. Anya was in the perfect place to make a move against her and Blaze wanted to limit it as much as possible. Turning off her saber to not to roll over it, she landed just behind her left shoulder and rolled a little bit in an unelegant style until she finally came up to her knees with Anya just a little to her right. As she gained a solid stance there, her right hand extended out to her side and ignited the blade once again.
Did Anya make an attack and she just moved quickly enough to evade it? No, she didn't hear the hum of the blade, nor feel its heat. If she didn't make an attack, then why not? Her eyes focused on Anya as the thoughts ran around her head. They were only cut short by the slight ache in her left shoulder. Despite landing in a location best to flow with the roll, she landed hard enough to make it a bit sore. She tensed her whole left arm, trying to force the faint throbbing away.
Standing to her feet, she brought her saber up to her right shoulder, gripping it with both hands. Though Ataru used quick and aggressive moves seeking to get in and out quickly, she progressed towards her opponent slowly. If running and making a big attack made it easier to step away, then she close the distance and try to keep her closer. Doing this she would also gauged where Anya stood in this fight.

Anya's feet moved as her opponent rolled to the side, shifting fluidly to keep her facing her opponent throughout the maneuver, as well as moving to her own right to keep herself as much between the other woman and the ship as possible. Her opponent was fast, able to react and adapt quickly to the changes in the situation and Anya's defend and wait tactics. Instead of launching another aggressive lunge, she had opted for a slow approach, taking the measure of her enemy as she closed the distance and no doubt prepared for another offensive. For her part, Anya maintained her defensive posture and continued circling until she was once again fully between her adversary and the evac ship.

Blaze watched as Anya kept herself between her and the ship, though she made no attempt to attack. Her movements and actions started forming a thought within her mind. However, it was too early to decide yet what Anya's true intentions were. She would have to press a little more to find the answer.
Slowly, she picked up speed, going into a half run, closing the distance between her and Anya. As she ran, she changed the grip of her right hand, switching it to an underhand grip. Once tightened around the hilt, her left hand came back to her left side and her right hand move behind hr a bit, ready to make its strike. As she reached Anya, making a horizontal slash from right to left, aiming to cut through Anya's chest. If Anya didn't make an attack or step any other way expect back, Blaze would press her attack, twisting her wrist and bringing the saber back along its first path, now from left to right, which would follow with a downward slash, her left hand gripping the hilt normally to help aid in the attack's strength. If the final slash didn't cut through her, she hoped to bring the blades into a blade lock. If Anya moved back as Blaze attacked, Blaze would follow, continuing with the flow of her attacks.

She met both horizontal strikes with a parry, catching her opponent's blade mid-length and pushing it up to pass harmlessly above her head each time. She held her ground as well, refusing to back down and allow the other woman to gain that much more distance toward her eventual target. Her deflections were quick and efficient, movements designed to let the opponent exhaust themselves while she remained fresh and capable. Core tenets of the Soresu form, though practiced with the simplistic ease of Shii-Cho. When the overhead strike came, her instinct was to deflect that as well, letting it slide past her right or left side and leaving her opponent open for a counter-attack, but attack was not her goal. Instead, she met the blow head on, catching the blade mere inches from her own hilt and throwing enough force into the block that it stopped the other woman's saber cold, locking the weapons together. "There are other ways out of here, Blaze."

Was it true what she said? Was there another way out and this woman was trying to help her? Perhaps she was saying that so she'd stop trying to get on the ship and just lead her on or kill her when she lowered her guard? Did it even matter anymore? Survival was still on her list of priorities, yet something was stirring inside her. That flame she had felt before was growing, albeit slowly, giving her the simple thrill of battle. However, though she was starting to enjoy herself, it wasn't the main driving force. Next to her desire to live was one other thing. The more she fought Anya, the more she felt she was close to remembering who she was. No memories or feelings came outside of her battle skills, but it felt like it was just right there, just out of reach. If she could beat Anya, perhaps she'd remember, or at least get a step closer. Either way, the theory she had wished to prove after getting out of here was already showing its fruit. She couldn't stop; not yet anyway. "Perhaps, but it doesn't matter."
Putting more force into her strike, she wanted to keep the threat of her saber present, the idea that she would try to break through. Using the force at her saber and using her right foot to keep her supported, she brought her left knee up to meet Anya's stomach. Blaze hoped for contact and that it would cause Anya to bend forward at least a bit, also aiming to falter her defense just slightly. While she had been pushing on Anya's saber, she kept herself focused so that if the hit and she bent forward, she could keep herself from going forward as well. Quickly switching her right hand back to a normal grip, she let go with her left and thrust her saber out to the side, letting it curve back and downwards just before it reached it full stretch at her side. With this she attempted to make a slash going straight up the middle of Anya to, at the very least, break Anya's defense completely for a moment to allow her an open attack.

With her words proving fruitless, she saw no more reason to continue the contest of strength, and so when her opponent added more force to her blade, Anya simply allowed her to win. Stepping behind and to her own left with her right foot as she swung her body to the right, she rotated her saber around her opponents blade as it continued toward the ground, hoping to force it into the landing pad and hold it there for a moment. Long enough to drive her left shoulder into her opponent's right side while she was still off-balance from the sudden release of pressure. The force of the blow wouldn't be enough to break ribs or cause any significant damage, as her goal was simply to prolong the contest and allow the shuttle to escape. It did, however, carry enough force to send the young woman sprawling.

The time between Blaze's extra downward push and upward knee was barely a second difference, which showed how fast Anya could move. By the time Anya was about to make her hit at Blaze's right side, she was falling forward from her downward push and her left knee was in the air, leaving only one foot to keep any balance on, which was minimal at that point. Her right hand had also began switching its grip at this time as well. When Anya hit her side, she flew off the ground a few inches and landed hard on her left side a couple feet away. Her left hand was the last to follow her body's movement, which ended up landing above her head. The impact of the hand was enough to force her lightsaber out of it and bounced a few inches away, still active as its switch was designed to be manually turned off.
A few things threw Blaze for a loop in this. Her balance had been worse off than her first attack, leaving her no way to make any movement herself. It was a surprise as well considering how Anya moved out of the way with Blaze making two near simultaneous attacks at point blank range. This along with the simple impact from both Anya and the floor had stunned her for a couple seconds before she gained enough focus to roll back away from Anya, standing a few feet away.
She reached her right hand out to her saber and it flew back to her as she focused her eyes on Anya. However, her attention was split between her and the ache in the right side. It might not have been a strong impact to break ribs, but it was hard enough to send her off her feet, which was more than enough to make her sore. Her sides were one of the few places that didn't hold enough fat or muscle that could be tensed enough to cushion the impact. Now the whole side of her rib cab ached, no doubt leaving a bruise, along with the resurfacing of her left shoulder thanks to the ground. Too many more impacts like that would leave her too sore to move. Not to mention that though they were still slow for the most part, her breathing was starting to get deeper and heavier. Her style was using energy quickly, while Anya had barely done anything to waste energy aside from the full block and the impact, which she was sure was little. In terms of stamina and getting hits in, Anya was in the lead. She had to even the score and bring her down to her own level or more. And she had to do it quickly before she ran out of steam.
What to do next? Get in close again and keep her attacks small or try to risk big again while trying to better the timing and keeps things tighter? Deciding to try and attempt to get closer again, she focused her mind before once again coming at Anya in a half run, her right hand coming up over head where she brought it down on top on Anya in a single handed over strike, her right foot coming to the front to hold her support. Her left hand stayed just out in front of her waist about an inch, ready to move it to block or attack as needed. She kept her mind focused this time, hoping to be ready to flow with any blocks or deflections so that she could keep herself on the offensive instead of being forced to give ground.

Anya used the time her move had gained her to re-position herself between her opponent and the escape vessel, once again taking the all too familiar opening stance she'd been using throughout the fight. Left foot forward with a left-hand dominant two-handed grip on her lightsaber, angling the point to somewhere just above her opponent's head. When the next attack came in, the parry was a repeat of the one she'd performed against the first overhand strike, catching the other saber mid-swing and pushing it to her right, allowing it to once again pass harmlessly by her right elbow.
Behind her, she could hear the shuttle's engines come online as they began the preliminary takeoff procedure, which meant that all the personnel and equipment had been loaded. It wouldn't be long now until the reason for her opponent's aggressiveness was no longer a factor. Perhaps then the situation could be resolved peacefully.

So far, Anya's moves had been mostly deflections, saving her energy and putting Blaze off balance. With this in mind, Blaze had begun expecting these to continue, though she couldn't rule out a solid block, attack, or counterattack and actual predictions of Anya's movements were still too far off to know. Despite that, her body and mind were ready for any attempts at a parry, ready to go with the flow and keep pressing the attack or strike a blow.
And it seemed this state of mind got its reward. Blaze was ready as Anya performed the same parry as she did against Blaze's first attack. She didn't try to alter her path but let the parry go on and her own saber continue downwards. As Anya's saber redirected hers, she began stopping her body, letting it come to a dead stop as it hit the ground to avoid cutting too deep and hindering her next attack. In almost the same instant it hit the ground, she brought the saber up, starting with a curve, traveling just above the ground for a few inches before curving up into a steep diagonal slash aimed just above Anya's torso in attempt to cut her in half.
Had Anya's saber followed Blaze's a bit, she hoped she would have been inside Anya's defense and the saber useless to block, though it could have proved as a mutual strike if she attacked as well with the clear opening at her own head. Had Anya's saber kept itself high after deflecting Blaze's, she hoped any block with the saber would have been weak, also hoping that with her angle and the slight turning of her body with the slash could have given her a bit of power.
Block, jump back, or fall to the slash, Blaze didn't want leave it to chance. As her right hand made the strike with the saber, her left came around towards Anya, palm facing out. When her hand reached her own chest, she released a Force Push in hopes that it would knock Anya back and leave her open if her first attack failed to land. She could only pray that her attacks were fast enough to catch her opponent of guard and that Anya didn't have a trick up her sleeve.
