*Morgan felt Jake's gaze, sensed his concern. She looked at her twin, his expression matching his feelings, and she chewed on the flesh of her cheek thoughtfully for a moment. Then she shook her head, giving him a nudge through the Force that she'd explain later, then nuzzled him affectionately before attempting to give her full attention to the front of the class.
But it was difficult. The conversation with Rogue, Eliel's subsequent interjection... Plans... Dangerous plans, but plans she would act on regardless. Saving a life... and preemptively many more, if all went well. Everything else was far from her mind, her brother's concern, today's lesson, even the Yuuzhan Vong rot—
Was it just her imagination or did her thoughts just speak the word "Yuuzhan Vong" in a firm male voice? She almost gasped and jolted in her seat when she realized it was Master Gannor who said it. Today's lesson was about the Yuuzhan Vong? No way that was coincidental. She had nearly missed the question and did her best to replay her memories, attempting to piece it together; Brakus' answer helped her completely piece together the gist of the question, and the Falleen had asked what the class knew of the Yuuzhan Vong.
That brought her mind back to the present, and the jungle rot to the forefront. She nearly blurted out her thoughts before being acknowledged, but she managed to do the "polite" thing and raise her hand instead. When acknowledged, she, with intent, stood up in her chair—seeing as she would appear smaller if she stood on the ground—and proceeded,* "They warred across the galaxy. They started with Belkadan, my old home, and moved inward, killing trillions of sentients! They even came to Felucia... They didn't last long, and they didn't do anything big to it, but they left an ugly scar!"
*Her tone and expression became indignant, clearly upset at the last note. She even had clenched fists. She remained stood in her chair for a few moments before finally lowering herself back down into a sitting position. She didn't despise the entire species... at least, she thought she didn't, but she was certainly not impressed with them, both due to their genocidal sweep of the galaxy and the recent findings on Felucia of course...*

Jevn hid his amusement with the antics of the young ones behind an expressionless façade. He appreciated the candor Master Gannor used to teach the class. The master seemed to have infinite patience with the young ones. Jevn wondered how the Falleen ultimately ended up here. The loud ping of his comlink startled him, fortunately coming right after Morgan finished her sentence. He quickly checked his com. It was Coruscant. He had a sinking feeling in his stomach.
He threw an apologetic smile at the Jedi Master as he stood, leaving his pack behind. Please excuse me, Master Gannor...Jevn motioned to the comlink in his left hand with a contrite expression.I apologize for further interrupting this class, this seems urgent. He didn't wait for a response, walking briskly, but quietly, out of the classroom and into the hall.
He leaned his back against the wall as he lifted his com to his mouth. Jedi Marona here.
Hi Jevn. It's Marcia.
He frowned, bending his right leg to push it's booted foot behind him, against the wall. Is everything alright?
The Council is requesting you return to Coruscant immediately. There was an apology in her tone of voice.Jevn knew Marcia since he arrived at Coruscant. She was a few years his senior, and ended up an assistant to the High Council, which was a great honor indeed.
There was a weighted pause as Jevn's mind scrambled to process what she said. His heart plummeted. Did they mentioned why?
No...I'm sorry Jevn.
Jevn ran his free hand through his hair. I'll be on my way as soon as I find transport. It shouldn't be a problem, there's a town nearby.
Don't worry about that, they already sent a ship to come get you. It should be there within hours.
His eyebrows flew up in surprise. Understood. I'll be waiting. Thanks Marcia.

Chalco nodded enthusiastically at the answers, the passion for learning the most animated that the children ever got to see him. His hands remained clasped behind his back as he moved, reaching the last row and turning to walk along behind the students. He gave Jevn a nod and a smile as the other Jedi made his way out of the class, letting him no that the interruption was no bother, before he spoke once again in his level, measured fashion.
"Very good, Brakus. Morgan."
He slowed and stopped when he reached the center aisle, turning to face the podium at the front of the class, the back of the students heads arrayed before him.
"What else?"

*Jake's eyes searched Morgan's face for some sign of an answer, but she only looked at him, doing that thought cheek-chewing thing, before shaking her head. He felt her nudge, her unspoken message that she'd explain later, before giving him an affectionate nuzzle and focusing on the front of the classroom.
He should have known better than to expect an explanation right in the middle of class.
He ignored Brakus's "response" to his defense, listening as Master Gannor continued with the lesson. It seemed it was to be about the extragalactic invaders, the Yuuzhan Vong... No coincidence, especially considering what was found on the world not too long ago. The Falleen instructor asked for the class's knowledge on the creatures, and he was surprised Morgan hadn't spoken up first; no, that was Brakus, giving a... very basic response.
But there was Morgan, standing up on her chair to be better heard as she, with fervency, briefly described the war, touching specifically on Belkadan, her former home; a world Jake had still yet to set foot on. And of course she wouldn't finish without mentioning their mark on Felucia... Jake looked upon her with concern as she sat back down, clearly upset. For a moment he thought perhaps she had learned some piece of news in regards to the stain, but this was a different feeling than the one she had entered the classroom with...
The observer had to step out, apparently receiving some sort of urgent transmission. After he excused himself, Master Gannor asked for more response to his question. Jake bit his lip briefly, then raised his and. When he was acknowledged, he chose not to stand like his sister, but still sat up as tall as possible and spoke up,* "They somehow managed to turn all of Coruscant into a copy of their homeworld! But it wasn't the same... Oh, and their 'technology' is all actually alive! But not alive, like, AI or robots, but really alive! Er, well, not that AI or robots aren't really alive... I... Well... you know..."
*He was so glad Lana wasn't present to hear his little slip-up. He hadn't meant that at all either! But she wasn't here, so why was he blushing?*

"Indeed, Jake..."
He began moving up the aisle with a slow measured pace, hands still clasped firmly behind his back, voice deep and steady.
"They terraformed Coruscant and many other planets with a process we commonly refer to as vongforming."
He stopped next to Jake and nodded down at the boy, briefly resting a hand on his shoulder before moving on.
"As Jake has said, they employ a variety of bio-engineered lifeforms in place of the machines we use. These can vary from simple implements as well as sophisticated vehicles..."
He reached the front of the class and turned with a sweep of emerald robes.
"Anything more?"

"They somehow exist outside of the Force, Master..."
The voice was small but clearly heard, containing just the hint of the sigh that was often colouring her words of late. Felia's hair was drawn forward like two severe curtains of gold silk framing her pale face. With her elbow on the table and chin cupped easily within the palm she was a forlorn image, sunlight blazing through the window seeming to bathe her in an ethereal glow.
"Can't be sensed or influenced. Immune to most of our techniques."

Brakus' attention flickered around as people spoke, head turning as his eyes were yanked left and right by the voices. He nodded vigorously as his peers contributed, their answers succinct and accurate, at least he supposed they were. History wasn't really his strong point. He actually bobbed in his seat as Felia spoke, the nod of his head insufficient causing him to nod his entire body. He recalled a class back on Yavin when they had discussed theology. The Vong had come up then along with their supposed separation from the Force.
"Yeah..."
The word was breathlessly uttered and the boy took a moment to gulp down a lungful of air before continuing.
"They have some pretty wacky gods too!"

Chalco smiled at the boys enthusiasm, nodding his head and spreading his hands wide.
"Indeed they do. Can anyone tell me the names of any of their gods? Perhaps some attributes?"

*After confirming his answer and further clarifying, Master Gannor asked for more, and Jake suddenly felt astonished that no one had mentioned the defining trait of the Yuuzhan Vong until just then: Their existence outside the Force. Perhaps the death and destruction they caused left more of an impact... Brakus then mentioned something about them having "wacky gods," and that was when Master Gannor asked if anyone could name one. Jake thought about it for a moment, but couldn't recall any names. They all started with "Yun," right? Wait, there was one...* "Yun... -Yammka?" *he guessed aloud, but he couldn't recall said god's traits.*

The Falleen nodded gravely at the Jake, bringing his hands forward to clasp them together just in front of his navel. His eyes pulsed with what seemed to the younglings ancient wisdom as they swept their intensity over those assembled.
"Indeed. Yun Yammka. Their god of war. Also known as The Slayer. This god was worshipped almost exclusively by the Yuuzhan Vong warrior caste..."
He waved a hand absently to head off the questions anticipated through the Force.
"We will return to their caste system a bit later on."
The wayward hand returned to its twin before he continued.
"Any other deities spring to mind?"

"Yan Harla..."
Her brow was furrowed and her voice hesitant as she struggled to recall what they had taught on Yavin. Her lower lip jutted out to be taken by her small, white teeth as she literally chewed her way through an answer.
"The joker or prankster..."
She trailed off for a moment before her voice returned. Stronger this time. More sure of itself. A slight nod of her head and a look a firm confidence accompanied the change, the gesture causing a cascade of golden hair to spill over her right shoulder.
"No. It was Trickster. She was the goddess of deception and deceit."

Chalco had been patient, holding his silence while she worked her way through her thought process. Despite his supposition that she would recall her details he was still mildly surprised at her efficiency, nodding his head and offering a rare smile to the petit girl.
"Very good, Felia. Indeed Yun Harla was held in some disdain by the other gods due to the tom foolery she often partook in. Priests on the Deception Sect were creatures of mystique and reverence even to other members of the priest caste.
His head bobbed slowly once again for a moment as his eyes dropped to barely a squint. The strange pose lasted only a second before he looked up and out again.
"Anyone else?"

*The significance of Jake's stammering about AI and robots being "alive" was not lost on Morgan, and, despite her mood, she managed to turn her head slightly and give him a sympathetic, but amused, smile. When would he confess, already... ?
The lesson continued, Felia pointing out the basic, obvious fact that Yuuzhan Vong weren't sensitive to the Force, nor could be felt or influenced by it. That had been the scary part, meaning that other tactics had to be used to defeat them. Well, that was until she realized that, while they couldn't be affected by the Force, something like a large object hurtling towards them could...
The subject moved on to their gods, which was where Morgan rolled her eyes. Gods... many species and cultures had them. Morgan herself wasn't entirely sure she believed in any gods, apart from the potential existence of a creator of the Force itself, where the Force was both a gift to mortals and its vessel of communication between itself and them. But even that was difficult to tell, and her daddy said he'd "like to believe" there was such a higher being, but he couldn't be sure.
As Jake and Felia gave their answers, both unsurprisingly correct, Morgan nearly decided not to answer; their gods had no significance to her, and while she didn't normally disrespect religions, there seemed to be nothing benevolent nor worship-worthy about the gods of the Yuuzhan Vong. But in the end, a snide comment slipped through.* "Their creator, Yun-Yuuzhan, called that because they're not creative."

Van made his way into one of the more intimate classrooms. He had finally reached a stage in his training, where he needed the one on one attention of his own Master. Not because he was a talented pupil. Though he certainly was. No. It was because he had frayed the last nerve of nearly every one of his teachers. And while it would have gotten him kicked out of most schools. The Council, in their infinite wisdom, had decided it would be a waste to not try this one last thing.
Van came to a stop in the middle of the room. It looked like his new Master had not yet arrived. Which was something of a miracle. Since he almost always arrived later than his teachers. But then, they had set class schedules. That would likely not be the case any more. At least that was the understanding he got from the few classes he had been paying attention during. He couldn't help but wonder if that meant any semblance of a schedule was out the door. What if he was expected to train late at night

The old Jedi stood outside the classroom. He extended his senses to the room feeling the young man inside. Rambunctious, egotistical, arrogant, and self-centered, a teenager he felt in the room. Mir loved kids, they were one of the few things in this universe that could actually give him joy, but teenagers... Mir was a Jedi, a good one. He didn't late hate cross into his mind, but if it did, teenagers would fill that void. He was given this assignment because he was qualified and free, though he figured it was the council punishing him for something. It could also be that his pessimism had given him patience. When you expect the worse, you don't get discouraged when things end up bad. No matter what, the man was driven by duty, and at the moment his duty was this young man, He would work with him and train him. He waits longer to see how the young man would react.

A tone sounded from the desk at the front of the class signifying the end of the lesson. Stood near the middle of the class, with his arms clasped behind his back, Chalco smiled as the class erupted into motion. Datapads were gathered up and rucksacks loaded with learning materials at a breakneck pace as the children sought to excuse themselves from the confines of learning, buoyed by the nearby prospect of leisure and fun. It had been a long time since Chalco had been that young and energised, he noted wryly, releasing his arms and stretching the kink in his back a little."Remember to study up on the main events of the Great Sith War. You will be tested next lesson..."He swerved and turned as the younglings flowed around him towards the door, their haste causing them to bump shoulders, heads bobbing as they absently agreed to his words. Chalco shook his head and flashed a mock glare at Brakus as the boy bounced off his hip, drawing a smile and a nod of apology from the human boy."Oh and don't forget to upload the galactic map animation showing the tactical topography during the final stages of the war. It can be found in the archives."The last words echoed forlornly around the suddenly empty room. The silence was nearly deafening in the wake of the clamour the children had caused, only the fading sound of footsteps moving down the hall outside giving any hint that there was anything other than the quiet. With a tired sign Chalco moved towards the desk and sat down heavily, eyes lost in thought. It had been more than three years since he and some of the students of the Praxeum on Yavin IV had relocated here. Originally they had fled here as a precaution during the attack on the Jedi by the Mandalorian, but following the Mandalorian defeat Chalco and a few others had come to call Felucia their home. The Falleen Jedi still marveled at the all-encompassing nature of the Force here, a loving embrace that seemed to emanate from the very planet itself. Symbiosis here had developed beyond anything Chalco had experienced before in his long life, perhaps only Zonama Sekot having a more vibrant feel to it. He had visited the living planet once a long time ago and it was the only thing comparable to what he felt here. The children seemed to sense the difference too; those that had arrived here from Yavin quickly adapting and becoming at home despite the trying times.
Chalco's lips twitched into a smile once again as he recalled their togetherness as a group, overcoming the trials that were set before them. None of them had the connection to this planet that Morgan did and they all seemed to take their cue from her. While not necessarily the leader of their little group she was certainly the spiritual center, the guiding light that helped keep those around her grounded. Of those that had arrived from Yavin it was Felia and Brakus that had come to prominence here, seeming to settle well and develop into fine Jedi younglings.'They will be ready to be taken on as Padawaans soon', he thought to himself as he sat back and steepled his fingers in front of him. With a steady breath he allowed himself to sink into a trance. Surfing the currents of the Force... He felt the disturbance as a tenuous flicker at the edges of his perceptions. Nothing of alarm. Merely an impending arrival. Something drew near. Something he was expecting. His eyes flickered open and he rose smoothly from his seat. Checking the chrono on the wall he nodded his head and turned, leaving through a different door to the one used by the younglings. With a steady pace Chalco made his way towards the Tech Labs...

She fairly glided across the floor such was her haste in getting out of the stuffy classroom, her shimmering name of silver-gold hair trailing behind her like the tail of a comet. Tan Jedi robes hung loosely, billowing a little as she moved, a slightly darker rucksack hung over her right shoulder bouncing lightly with each step. Her breeches were tucked neatly into her calf-high boots and the robes themselves were clinched by a darker brown belt.
At fourteen years old Felia Reksira had managed to avoid the awkward, gangling stage that a lot of girls her age were struggling through. Her growth spurts had been merciful and she moved with the grace of a gazelle prancing through a field of golden grass, her step steady and sure. The same couldn't be said of her social development. Always a shy child, the added confusions of maturity had done nothing to alleviate the pressures of social interactions and co-existing with her peers was often as trying as learning to be a Jedi. She could often be withdrawn and seem ill at ease, her empathy causing her to struggling with the emotions of others, sometimes even leading her to become confused as to which feelings were actually hers. Most of the time though she was a perfectly normal child, with hopes and dreams the same as any other.
Skidding as she hit the corner too fast she couldn't help but giggle as she bumped shoulder to shoulder with Brakus, drawing a little squeak of annoyance from her left shoulder. Her head turned to see Niminee staring back at her with ludicrously big eyes set in her furry little face. The tiny claws dug tenaciously into the fabric of Felia's robe as the pet Tooke sought to hang on through the tumultuous ride.
"Hang on, Nim..." Her words came in a breathless gasp. "We're almost there.
The reason for their haste lay in the hangar bay in another part of the Jedi Base. It was rumoured that a Yuzhaan Vong Shaper would be arriving to visit. Nobody knew why such a being would be coming here, or where the rumour had come from, but it had led to this mad rush to watch the arriving passenger shuttles in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the strange alien. Everyday they believe that THIS was the day and everyday they had left disappointed. The Jedi teachers had decided against discouraging their interest as it was believe to be a healthy distraction for them, their interest in what could be deemed a political affair itself a learning curve.
With the bustle of the corridors intensifying ahead the group slowed to a walk, falling in with the rest of the Jedi pupils leaving the lecture halls. There were Jedi younglings of all ages here. The smaller kids creating a cacophony of noise as they babbled to each other in different tongues. The more reserved older children carried themselves already with the steady calm of the Jedi, some even sporting Padawaan braids in their hair. Reaching up Felia pulled Niminee from her shoulder, wincing as the small creatures claws got tangled in her wealth of hair. Cradling the Tooke in her arm she absently stroked its head as she moved, her voice an excited rush.
"The Vong will be arriving today, I can totally feel it!"

Brakus had easily kept pace with the others, despite getting his sleeve all tangled up with the strap for his backpack and having to perform a kind of weird bouncing dance in order to free up the tangle. As he and Felia came together with a bump he grinned back at his friend as they slowed to a walk. He too was excited at the possibility of the presumed visit. In fact, his excitement was probably the greatest out of all of their little group, a constant stream of words about it making that fact glaringly obvious.
"Do you think he'll be fearsome? All scars and tattoo's?"
He had asked those very same questions several dozen times already but none of them cared. The enthusiasm was infectious. He bounced up and down on the balls of his feet and swung his head left and right in order to try and get a look at what was holding up their exit from the lecture halls. He was a good bit taller than Felia, very nearly as tall as an adult now, and he had little difficulty seeing over the heads of most of the other students. Despite this he couldn't see anything that was causing the delay. Glancing back at Felia he frowned down at the slight girl, her words just sinking in past the anticipation.
"What do you mean 'feel it'? As in feel it through the Force?"

With a musical laugh that put one in mind of crystals bouncing off of a marble floor Felia shook her head slightly, fanning her hair spectacularly. She nudged into Brakus with a laugh and rolled her eyes over her shoulder at Morgan and Jake. Brakus often took hold of the wrong end of the stick and ran with it, a trait that often endeared him to his friends and was constantly the source of embarrassment for the red-headed boy from Coruscant.
"Ha! No, not at all. Its just a turn of phrase this time, Brak."
She tossed her head artfully, sending the hair cascading the other way.
"I am not all knowing in things of the Force..."
She jerked her thumb over her shoulder towards Morgan.
"That's her."

*Tests... Sith Wars... Topographies... All a bother to Morgan. Her mind was very much on the present, as ever. Especially as of late; after all, the Yuuzhan Vong-inflicted wound still persisted upon the world. While at first she had learned to settle down and accept that it was beyond her, and that a Shaper would be sought to repair the damage, over time it began to gnaw at her once more. Come the rumors that said Shaper would make an appearance soon and it very much consumed her thoughts once more. Focusing was difficult, lessons were a lengthy blur...
Jake tried. He had nudged her, softly called her name, prodded her through the Force, anything he could to keep her focused. Shared his notes, recapped lessons. It helped... somewhat. But it didn't solve the fact that the wound was still slowly growing, and no Shaper had appeared nor had anyone developed an alternative containment plan yet.
She was among the crowd attempting to make their way to the hangar, but she felt as though she were the only one among her peers with a true vested interest in the potential arrival. Well, perhaps Sylvie. And Jake, if only because her twin was always interested in whatever bothered her. Maybe Laney, because of how close they were as well.
The tangent of her own thoughts only served to aggravate her... but also mildly amuse herself enough to crack the smallest smile. Truthfully, there was also joy in that smile, directed towards those who cared enough about the issue as well.
Then she heard her name mentioned, snapping her back to reality with a soft gasp. She glanced around and quickly located the thumb of Felia, indicating her.* "Wh—"
"She says you're 'all knowing in things of the Force,'" *Jake provided helpfully, though the concern in his voice was evident.
It was warranted. She felt awful for not being able to keep her mind in the present during times like this, but instead of blush, she only grew visibly frustrated.* "Sorry." *Sighing, she replied,* "Don't know why you said that. I'm not really..."
