Protocol and Duty of the Mandalorian Defense Corps

It is the duty of the MDC to defend all Mandalorians, all worlds, and all systems, no matter what clan rules them. Upon entering the ranks of the Corps, all grudges and feuds must be set aside for the greater good, for the future of the Assembly, and the future of the Mandalorian people. It is by the principle of 'Aliit ori'shya tal'din' (Family is more than blood) that the Corps shall thrive upon. All are Mandalorians first in this organization.

All must adhere to the Six Actions, for disobeying them is a dishonor to yourself and to the Assembly. Those who dishonor themselves shall be removed and put before the Assembly, and our Mandalore, to decide their fate. If one cannot be with the family, and contribute, then they are no longer family. Redemption, through proven determination and great deeds, can return one to the fold.

Under the command of the Legate, who is appointed by the Assembly, and approved by the reigning Mandalore, we are to serve as the sword and shield. When called upon, we must become the vanguard of our armies, the hammer of our fleets, the defenders of our homes, and the protectors of all who are our brothers and sisters. We are to ensure peace and we are to ensure strength.

The Mandalorian Defense Corps stands as a symbol of unity, like the Assembly, among the Mandalorian clans. We are to work as one mind, one heart, and one body towards the greater good and future of the nation. Look at each other not as Ordo, Fett, or any other clan allegiance, but as Mandalorians. It is by Mandalore the Ultimate that all who prove themselves are Mandalorians, no matter if they are born as one or prove themselves by feats and deeds. Until one is labeled dar'manda, then they must always be treated and respected as Mandalorian.

When the Legate's time ends, whether by death, voluntary dismissal, or discharge by Assembly decision, the new Legate is appointed by the recommendation of the previous. The Assembly may choose this candidate, if they have proven themselves worthy. Otherwise, the Assembly, and reigning Mandalore, must approve one from the ranks of the MDC to serve as the successor.

The Branches of the Mandalorian Defense Corps
- Journeyman Protectors: the law enforcers of the Mandalorian Assembly, the Journeyman Protectors, in the past. formerly associated with Concord Dawn solely, serving as police for the planet's security. With the rise of the Assembly, Aliit'ator Galaar Fett saw the benefit of making these guards go interstellar and ensuring that all clans contributed to their expansion. As a result, the Journeymen are the largest of the four branches, in terms of numbers, within the Defense Corps. They are labeled as Defenders, dealing with internal operations in Mandalorian Space, daily law enforcement, and anything associated with police work.

- Mandalorian Protectors: The Mandalorian Protectors, known as Mando Cabure, were once an elite arm of the Mand'alor in the past, founded by Mandalore the Resurrector. Their reputation was legendary and their skill without rival, yet with the fall of the Mandalorian Empire, so too did the Protectors vanish from existence. Their veterans retiring to their headquarter world of Concord Dawn. With the rise of the Assembly, the Protectors were reformed, but with a new duty in mind. They were trained as elite shocktroopers that would fight as the vanguard on many battlefields, loyal to all of the clans and to the Mandalorians. Thus, in contrast to the Defender role of the Journeymen, the Protectors are the Attackers, going first before any other warrior.

- Mandalorian Knights: The original Mandalorian Knights were former Jedi Masters who, during the Mandalorian Wars, defied the orders of the Jedi High Council and went to battle the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders under the command of the Jedi Revan. However, unlike the Revanchists, these rogue masters began covertly sabotaging the Galactic Republic war effort under the direction of the maverick ex-council member Dorjander Kace. Having come to believe that the Republic was corrupt beyond redemption, Kace and His followers embraced the Mandalorian Way of Life. In 3962 BBY, the Mandalorian Knights were returned to the Core Worlds to stand Trial. The New Mandalorian Knights, are now drawn from the force sensitives of the Mandalorian Clans into an order which serves the Mandalorian Assembly by reporting to the Clan Leaders. The New Mandalorian Knights seek to protect the Mandalorian People and their culture, from all enemies, foreign and domestic. They are first and foremost Mandalorians following the resol’nare, and secondly performing a role similar to that of the Jedi Knights. Given their role within the Assembly, and more specifically, the Mandalorian Defense Corps, the Mandalorian Knights do not serve alone, but rather ensure their skills and presence is felt in all branches of the MDC.

- Mandalorian Supercommandos: The Mandalorian Supercommandos, founded by Jaster Mereel, the first Al'Ori'Ramikade, the Commander of the Supercommandos, were once elite mercenaries with a goal of hunting the Death Watch. This legacy endured, beyond the hunt of their enemy, and became a staple for the Mandalorian mercenary lifestyle. Their reformation, during the rise of the Assembly, saw a new role being imposed. Given their legacy as hunters, the new members were trained as covert ops agents, skilled in assassination, special operations, and skilled hunters. They now serve as 'Coming Before the Storm,' ensuring intel is gathered, systems are sabotaged, high value targets eliminated, and all prepared for a Mandalorian incursion on any world.

The 'Formations' of the Mandalorian Defense Corps
The Mandalorian Defense Corps follows a Formation system, also known to the greater galaxy as Divisions. This unit was inspired by the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders who used a similar composition for their armies during the Mandalorian Wars. A single 'Formation' (or Division) s stationed on each world bearing the flag of the Assembly and/or the standard of a Mandalorian clan. These garrison units are called 'Vambrace' in contrast to the standing military for offensive purposes whose units are called 'Beskad'. These defensive units serve as a police force, during times of peace, while during war, they take on defensive and offensive purposes depending upon the theater of war. Overall commanded by the Legate, each legion is managed and led by an officer with the rank of Commander (or Al'verde in Mando'a), with the authority to establish a headquarters, manage Formation companies, police planetary surfaces, and ensure a steady recruitment. They are usually assisted by an assortment of staff officers, ranging from those with tactical knowledge to those who manage training sessions.

These 'Formations' also are a combination of the various branches of the MDC. Those who make up the largest portion, in composition, are the Mandalorian and Journeyman Protectors whereas the Knights and Supercommandos have a smaller, but specialized presence. Whether it is a 'Vambrace' or 'Beskad' unit, the total manpower of one division is roughly ten thousand men, commanded by a Mandalorian Marshal (Master-ranked NPC).

The Legate has the authority to increase and decrease these legions, not only how many standing, but also the size of their compositions (across the board or individually) whenever the necessity arises. However, they do not have the authority to send forth 'Beskad' units, as an opening act of war, as that is a duty and responsibility of the reigning Mand'alor. There is an exception to be noted and that is if the attack is against Mandalorian territories and the necessity for both 'Beskad' and 'Vambrace' Formations to retaliate in full force. Those clans that declared dar'manda will lose the presence of their 'Formation' if the clan has a planet that they control. This unit will return to Mandalore and become a part of the reserved Formations. If a clan's honor is restored, a division will be reinstated to their world, if the clan controls one.
