*Trentan was caught off guard by Rawkill's rapid move, what he had said distracted him, and gave him more to think about than just the fight. His hand was hit, and the stun snapped him back to reality. His lightsaber turned off and was sent flying behind Rawkill with a spasm. Trentan force leapt back, distancing himself from Rawkill, and when he was far enough he pulled his lightsaber back to him, aiming to hit his master on its way back.* I see, but what about Gray Jedi? Do they not use the dark side to assist them? How can they manage to study it without falling into its addiction?

Rawkill twisted as Trentan recalled his lightsaber. The hilt grazing his shoulder as it flew past back to its master. Rawkill twirled his blades then, using it as a relaxing mechanism as he waited for his Padawan to make his next move Well, that's not necessarily true. The term Gray Jedi is generally applied to those that are lightsiders, but that are not strictly Jedi. Although certain factions have claimed the title of Gray Jedi when using the Dark Side, they are what we consider Dark Jedi. But even they cannot control their addiction. It works slower, because many usually only ever touch the surface of the Dark Side. But it takes its toll over time, eventually consuming the person. Some have theorised that with a perfect control of your emotions, that you can starve off the effects of the Dark Side. But it is pure conjecture. You can learn to understand and accept your emotions, and in time deal with them. But you cannot control them. The Jedi Order of old once believed that. But in doing so, they took away a piece of themselves. Emotions exist. They are a fundamental part of us. But we can let them control our actions. Or we can choose to fight back. Divert our attention from despair to hope. tell me Trentan... Do you fear death?

*Trentan's lightsaber flew at him with incredible speed, maybe more than he initially wanted. Went it hit is hand it sent a powerful, jarring blow down his arm. He shrugged off the pain. He returned to his makashi stance and went on a vicious offensive. Striking each and every way to keep his master from using his mobility against him. He thought about the question, and could not quite guess the answer his master wanted. Through fatigued breath he spoke* In all honesty, not truly. What I fear most is pain and suffering. Do you think that is enough to stop me from ever joining the dark side. I'd never be willing to join it, but I've come to terms with the fact that it might very well happen. People change, and I feel as if I might also. For better or for worse I cannot say.

With the amount of open space the arena provided, Rawkill was not at a loss for places to go. As Trentan went on the offensive, Rawkill met his Padawan strike for strike. His dual blades parrying each strike, whilst also striking out towards the man. He had trained to use the force to enhance himself for years, allowing him to run faster, jump higher, and fight for longer than most. As he felt Trentan begin to waiver, he quickly let off a force push towards the man's torso. He could tell his Padawan had been trying to guess what answer he had wanted. But that was not the point of the exercise As Master Yoda once said, Fear is a path to the darkside. Your fear of pain and suffering, is what will put you on that path and lead you to that very thing you fear most. Fears leads to Hate. Hate leads to Anger. Anger leads to Suffering. Your fear of pain and suffering will cause you to hate that you cannot stop it. Your hate for being unable to stop it will lead you to be angry that you do not believe yourself strong enough to do it. Your anger will lead you to do things that will cause you the suffering and pain you so feared to begin with. But as you have said. You can change before it is too late. We live in dark times, yes. But so long as we stand against our oppressors, we will defeat them. Pain and suffering are all a natural part of this world. As cruel as that may sound. But by working together and staying true to the light. We can make sure there is no undue pain and suffering. Rawkill was fairly certain that was not the answer Trentan had hoped to hear. But the truth was better than some lie that would lead him closer to the dark side

*Trentan countered and struck at Rawkill repeatedly. Neither of them gained any advantage and thus the Padawan realized Master Rawkill's solution to that problem. He saw him make a hand gesture, and he knew what it meant. At the last second Trentan put his own hand forth trying to combat the wave of force that was pushing him back. He could not counter it's strength, and so it sent him flying. It felt as if a wall hit him, and the wind was knocked out of him. He did not land on his feet, but somehow his lightsaber remained clutched to his hand. He used the force powers to quickly jump back on his feet. He once again returned to his makashi stance but he set up for the defensive now. Trentan was tired, and he knew that Rawkill would use this to his advantage, and finish the fight quickly. He remained silent, not knowing how to answer, and also partially too focused on the fight to speak.*

Rawkill stood poised to attack. It was time to finish this duel. He drew the Force to himself, before boosting himself forward. He leapt into the air and spun around, his blades creating two parallel plasma saw blades as he closed in on his padawan

*Trentan narrowly avoided the first lightsaber, but the second one struck him across the back as he ducked. He fell to his knees, not because of the blow but because of the exhaustion. He placed his hands on the floor amd breathed for a little while, it was hard to speak after the push Master Rawkill had given him. He sat down and looked to his Master* Thank you... Master. For hearing me out, and acknowledging my concerns. *He looked at his hands, examining the caluses on them. He remained there in silence for a while, before he turned his hands into fists.* I'm eager to test my skills. To become better, and stronger. For the sake of others.

Rawkill landed just behind Trentan, extinguishing his sabers as his Padawan conceded defeat. He turned towards the man then, a smile on his face. Years of training and practice had helped him improve his endurance. Meaning he was less worn out than Trentan. But he was sure that with time, his Padawan would be tired less easily. He took a couple steps forward and placed his paw on Trentan's shoulder then. Giving it a bit of a squeeze It's alright. I'd rather you voice such things than keep them to yourself. The Jedi Order has made mistakes in the past by dismissing these things off hand. But idealism will only get so far. We must stand together and acknowledge the truth. And fight so that those who cannot fight, do not have to. We are the shield between freedom and tyranny. Each of us standing together, side by side. Never forget that my young Padawan.

*Trentan stood up, retrieved his lightsaber, and bowed before his master. He liked Rawkill as his master, he seemed understanding yet strict. Although Trentan was not a fan of him being strict, he understood it was necessary at least until Trentan become a full fledged Jedi.* Thank you for this lesson. I have some other matters to attend to at the time. But I expect we'll be meeting at the same time tomorrow for another session? *By then his breathing had stabilized, and the same casual smirk he always held was once again on his face. His eyes seemed brighter than they had originally before the sparring practice.*

Of course. Do try to wake up on time tomorrow... Rawkill winked before giving a slight bow to Trentan and motioning for him to take his leave. Meanwhile, a cloaked figure appeared at the top of the stairs leading down into the arena, waiting

I'll see to it that I do. *Trentan departed, as he began to walk up the steps he sensed another being. A silhouette stood at the top of the stairs. He couldn't make out who it was with the bright sky behind them. Obscuring their features to Trentan. But he continued walking up. He passed by and when he did he gave the person a slight nod in greetings. He was too focused on what Rawkill had taught him to really care who the stranger was.*

The hooded figure gave a nod as Trentan passed, before making their way down to the Arena floor. The Ewok Jedi Master watched his padawan take his leave of the training arena, before turning to look up at his fellow Jedi Master. Ko pulled back her hood, revealing the scar across her face and milky white eyes. Even though she was physically facing towards the staircase, Rawkill knew her attention was on him Master Hoshina... So, what do you think of him?
He is certainly skilled with a blade. He still has a ways to go in his training overall, but that is normal for most padawans. He has a great deal of potential to do good...
Or evil. I know... We will just have to guide him as best we can down the right path.... If you don't mind, I'd like you to watch our next match. I want you to get a feel for him before you take him out on a mission... Speaking of, how goes your research?
I believe I've managed to find the location of another blade. Whether the Ren have as well, I do not know. But eliminating another location will narrow our search for these artefacts. Hopefully we might find some more pages from that book, so we can better figure out what their plan for them is... Rawkill gave a solemn nod, before the two Jedi Masters took their leave of each other as they headed up the stairs out of the Arena. The pair headed inside the temple itself to attend to their daily duties and other classes

*Trentan woke up earlier this time. He took his casual morning stroll, and he arrived to the arena just a little late this time. He was more punctual than yesterday, but no doubt it was just because of the speach Master Rawkill had given. It wouldn't be surprising if he fell into the same habit of getting late the next time they sparred. He stood before Rawkill in the arena and bowed. He felt the same energy from the last time he had finished his training. That same person was watching him. Rawkill's friend? Lover perhaps? The thought made Trentan chuckle.* "Greetings master." *The Padawan kept glancing at the stranger in the stands*

Ko had arrived early, before seating herself about halfway up the lowest bank of seating. Her hood was drawn up to obstruct her face from observers. Master Rawkill had arrived not long after and knelt down in the center of the arena. He sensed Trentan's arrival, before the young man made his entrance. His padawan stood before him and gave a bow then. But even without looking up, he could sense that Trantan's attention was upon Ko. If that was how it was going to be then Something on your mind? Rawkill withdrew the two-handed saber that had the pommel adorned with a pair of intertwined snakes from beneath his cloak. He then launched himself up into the air, igniting at first the main purple blade, before the two smaller pronged blades activated. Where his regular blades were shoto's on account of his size, the crossguard saber's blade was full length, giving him that extra reach

Trentan was slightly surprised to find Master Rawkill's change in lightsaber. The padawan was unfamiliar to his new style of fighting with this different weapon. So he went ahead to test the waters. Well you know... who is she? An aquaintance... maybe a little bit more? He couldn't help but smile. She seems interested in our sparring. I don't know why, but I imagine I'll find out soon. In two quick long steps he swung right, then feigned left, and and spun around with a back swing. He quickly stepped back. He was trying to figure out Master Rawkill's attack and defense patterns. He stood ready for a counterattack. This time Trentan would take a more methodical approach to the duel. Making sure to pay close attention to every movement his Master made. He could tell this would be a long match as he tried to find weaknesses.

As Trentan dodged, Rawkill landed on the ground, before he turned towards the right. He ducked low then avoiding the back swing as he made his own sweeping strike towards Trentan's legs. The tip of his blade just scraping across the surface of the arena floor causing several sparks from the sweep. He then lifted his gaze to look at his Padawan I would never have thought you were blind. So I think even you can see it is certainly nothing more. And whilst I have no qualms with others pursuing relationships. I find that I am too busy for such things... She is a colleague. Nothing more... Well, she might be more for you, depending upon how you go... He smirked then, as he pushed forward and swung the blade in an upwards cut

Trentan was forced to jump, something he preferred not to do, as it left him open for a blow. Mid-air he noticed a second sweep coming for his torso. With the force, he concentrated and pulled himself down, he envisioned him pulling the entire planet towards him, instead of himself being pulled towards the planet. This allowed for a quick recovery, h educked under his masters sweep and replied with one quick forwards jab towards Rawkills stomach, and another to his head. He backed off ensuring more space was between him and his master, so that his opponents newly found extended reach could not be used against him. "It was only a joke master" He smirked. He made a quick glance at the hooded figure. "Then I see I'll be looking to impress her."

Rawkill turned to the side, the blade glancing across his robes, before he brought his blade down, interrupting the second jab aimed at his head. As Trentan backed up, Rawkill spun his saber over his head as he re-centred himself towards Trentan That would be a wise move indeed, Padawan... Rawkill pushed forward, his blade still raised above his head to strike downwards at Trentan

Life was progressing in the Temple of Karabor. The new archive vaults were slowly beginning to fill up as various dark side artifacts were brought in. Padawan training was continuing, with Rawkill overseeing all of it. Despite how close the FO was moving down towards the core, life here was still a bit slower and calmer than over on Corellia and Felucia

Rawkill was sitting at a desk, when his datapad beeped. Indicating a new message had arrived. He pushed the book he was studying off to the side, as he brought the message up. Which turned out to be a report from his agent on the Smugglers Run. One of the texts he had recovered from the Garqi train heist had lead to a long investigation, which ultimately had revealed the location of another artefact. With a location known, he had dispatched a Jedi Shadow to recover the item Mission report... Arrived to Smugglers Run... yes, yes... good... Wait. What's this? Group of mercenaries also after the artefact... And a First Order operative? Apparently the Knights of Ren had also tracked the artefact down. But who had sent the mercenaries. To his knowledge, only he and Atlantia knew of these objects. Perhaps they were nothing. Just a band of treasure hunters hoping to sell the item to the highest bidder. After all, it was a shiny golden object. And such things would catch the eye of anyone looking to make a small fortune. But something within the force told him that was not the case. He kept reading First Order operative had possession of artefact... But has since been lost. Whereabouts unknown? Mercenaries seem to still be searching... So Atlantia now has another artefact in her possession... Rawkill still had no idea just how many of these objects existed, or even what information they contained. But from what he could tell, they fell into three categories. The one on the Run had been a Holocron, as far as he could tell. And the few pages he had recovered, indicated there was more than one in existence. He rubbed the side of his head, trying to calm his thoughts
