Sure, Avaro looks around for Landrin, I think he went this way. Avaro begins to sip at the champagne and begins to cough violently. This drink is disgusting, why does anyone drink this stuff? Bel'fima smiled at him.Not me. When I was a slave, my master would often have champagne at celebrations, then farm me out to his friends. The smell of champagne does not evoke happy memories to me. =Sara Ruluwoor="I never understood it, either. It's terrible stuff, but perhaps that is a matter of biology." A purring, catlike voice said, her tone full of amusement. A large, muscular Selonian woman who had been lingering nearby for a number of moments now approached the acting Senator from Ryloth and her current companions. "When you have a moment, Senator, I would like a word with you." The two-meter-tall, otter-like body of the Selonian looked slightly out of place inside her CDF dress uniform, for Selonians rarely wore clothes over their fur, but this was a formal occasion, and she had chosen to put up with the discomfort. The uniform was similar to those worn by CorSec, only with a rank patch over the left breast, white pants instead of grey, and Captain's epaullets on her shoulders. Additionally, her gunbelt was nowhere to be seen, and there were gold second-class Corellian bloodstripes running the length of both her legs.

The vor ignored the mans claim this being "his" party. Misinformation or miss use of grammar. The lightsaber floated out of his hand and he was promised the man would be gone. But, the Gargoyle of Vortex was stone. Sel looked into his memmory of the guest list, and found the mans name, or one that would fit very well."Jedi Knight Lacyon, you are more then welcome to help 500 republica security, maybe even to help them fix the hole in their security this man has abused. None the less, gone shall he be. I dont care how many people vouch for an intruder with a dangerous weapon." And it was true. What would be a larger disgrace then getting told off by some youngster from "Whereverwille" would be if someone actually got hurt from an assasination attempt. Sels reputation would need a coffin. The man was unchecked, uninvited (whatever people now may claim) and wearing a dangerous weapon. Scimitars and helbards, holdout blasters and hidden blades he can handle. A forceuser with a lightsaber? Can ALSO handle, but the person may do a lot more damadge before he is subdued. And his job is to stop the damadge from ever happening. The Twilek woman only annoyed him with her tiny little verbal stabs. He made her feel that the "men" were "on it" by fully forgetting her existence. It was a simple choice. Either join her in an argument in an unfriendly environment (Sel wasnt much liked) or simply wait till she finds an other hobby, like helping her people.
=Jordan Halcyon=Jordan had said "his party" in the plural sense -- Khar was part of the collective of people responsible for the party, while the Jedi was not.The Vor had met Knight Halcyon previously, at a meeting with Vice Chancellor Darma, and on that day, Khar had been on his best, most charming behavior. Today was different, although Jordan could understand and even sympathize why. That day, they had been meeting as a small, controlled group on the Vor's terms. Today, he was responsible for the security of a rather ridiculous number of the galaxy's elite, and that was enough pressure to make anyone cranky. He was surprised that the Vor did not recognize him, given his otherwise observant nature, but the Corellian was not upset by this. Being overlooked and under-estimated by a potential adversary was never a bad thing. As the saber hilt came to his hand, he expertly caught it in a fold of his robe, and tucked it away, untouched. He would examine it more carefully once they were outside. The last thing he wanted to do was escalate the situation any further by flashing the weapon around or igniting the blade. The incident needed to end, and end now, before it distracted any further from the real purpose of the Gala. Already, he could see and sense too many heads turned toward the commotion, and too many guests uncertainly leaving their tables, either to edge closer, or to edge away. After pausing for a moment to see if the Twi'lek woman would object further, Jordan turned expectantly to Cass's captors. "You heard your boss. Release him to me."

=Jordan Halcyon=The young Jedi Knight was surprised that the Vor had been able to detect the lightsaber crystal and the deceit that had been used to conceal it so carefully. This indicated, although it did not prove, that Khar might be in tune with the Force. But that was an observation on which to meditate later, on his own time, and report to his superiors. First, he had a dispute to calm. "That is reasonable, after all, this is your party. Unless you wish to grant this young lady's wishes" He nodded to Ar'lah "and allow her guest to remain, I will escort your unwanted guest outside for questioning. I am sure that I can discover the truth of this matter." He stretched his right hand out towards the curved, silver and black saber hilt in the Vor's clutches, intending to take it from the self-claimed head of security (if Khar would allow him) and call it to himself telekinetically through the Force. Jordan had seen the man found in possession of the weapon, as had everyone else, and he doubted the prints on the hilt would add anything, but he would not directly touch it, at least not yet. And the Vor had no true claim to the item -- either it legally belonged to the red-eyed stranger, or it was stolen Jedi property. Once more, he was testing Khar's reactions and willingness to cooperate. Ar'lah, at a loss, knew she didn't have the political pull to do anything. She whipped out her commlink to call Crom'nen. The only problem was, he still had his jammer active, so it didn't go through. She didn't know, but Crom'nen wouldn't have done anything anyway. However this turned out, she had played every card she could, and lost to the unmovable Vor. She suddenly realized that she may have lost a step. She was no longer the power center of Coruscant. She was nothing, and this epiphany silenced her.Bel'fima smiled at him.Not me. When I was a slave, my master would often have champagne at celebrations, then farm me out to his friends. That famous Corellian smile got just a bit more crooked as Kel smiled. "Mister Solomon." He replied, extending his right hand as he introduced himself. "I don't believe I've had the pleasure. Kel'Al Raganella." As he approached, it had been impossible to ignore the precious stones and other adornments built into the man's orange Imperial Knight armor. The significance of the color orange was lost on the Jedi, but the jewelry was a curious addition. He had not seen such a thing previously, but it was an interesting and impressive way to flaunt one's wealth without foregoing armor. And Xeonon's introduction as president of Solomon Mines by the herald probably explained both the source of his wealth, and his motivations to show it off. Mining could be a very enriching business -- especially if you were willing to cut corners on labor."Thank you for coming." He continued, unsure how else to begin a conversation with one he knew so little about. "I am sure the Twi'leks and the Republic appreciate your support." Unlike the Jedi, Xeonons smile was pained. He was not used to doing more than scowl. More at home on the battle field than in a formal events. The armour was showing just that. Back when he was still the head of the Imperial Knights he had commissioned the armour. Showing off his favourote colour and his differece from the other Knights. . Extending his own hand he shook the Jedis hand with his cybernetic right arm. What can I say, what happened was a travesty. It doesmt matter that it was a Republic world, we are all citizens of the galaxy. Truthcully Xeonon didt really care about what happened. Years of Imperial indoctrination had hardened him. At least it was not the empire that was attacked, it showed the universe once again how poorly equipped the Republic was at dealing with threats and solving its own problems. His being he was more to show off how strong the Empire is, and maybe find a way to get his mining buisness into a new market. Chip away at MaMandalmine. So tell me, what is a Jedi such as yourself doing here? Last I heard the Jedi and Republic were not the best of friends. Unlike Kel he had no problem delving right in and asking serious questions.

To Cass, being released to a Jedi was an improvement, be it marginal. It was going to be interesting how this plays out. Cass muscles out of the grip of the security and approaches the Jedi knight. He winks at Ar'lah. See you soon sweetheart. He gives a sarcastic bow to the Jedi Knight.SO i take it you are my new captor? Shall we be going then?

I have heard and read a great deal on all you can do. I am sure you know as well that no amount of being told will ever match seeing. Standash was no warrior, yes she had become a master in Echani arts, and qualified as a marksmen in many different weapons. But still a battlefield was not her area of choice. She waged war, and will wage war, between her ears. She would out think, out wit, out charm, and out class to gain her victory. In the battle of minds she was a Warmaster, this was clear in her eyes now. Commander Kanor, your people's expertise in biology is second to none, even the Ithorian's can't hold a candle to you.A subtle hint to the Vong that she had done her homework on his people. There is no one better to help Ryloth return to its beauty. Maybe even improve it. Would you care for a drink? I had a choice selection of Alderaanian Vodka's brought in for this event. They are made by monks in a monastery in the mountains above our capital. I can assure you, they have never felt the cold lifelessness of a machine.

Orik was impressed, but he did not let it show. All infidels would be brought into the fold of Yun-Yuuzhan eventually, or be sacrificed as gifts to the Gods. Getting attached was a luxury not worth having, for more than likely this alien would die with the rest when his leader deemed the galaxy ripe for cleansing.
"All things can be improved through our living servants, Standash Thul. Perhaps even you? Would you not rather a plaeryin bol than a feeble eye? We all must sacrifice something to the Gods, and in the process we are made better. This is what we plan for Ryloth. Improvement in the eyes of the Gods."
He thought about the invitation to drink. He had originally vowed not to consume the infidel's produce, and his very biology meant that it was hard for him to become intoxicated. Another gift from the Gods. "This drink you speak of, is it made by servants? No abomination has been involved? I might be interested in quenching my thirst."

It is a pleasure to meet you. Ms. Zitan. You make the Bothan people very happy with your work. Any time government credits are unneeded to aid people of a world, is a good one. I was just telling Crom'nen that the people of Bothwui are using every resource they can to aid Ryloth. Everyone He winks at Crom'nen, hoping he would catch the meaning. You have done very well my lady. You deserve a personal toast, at a time more fitting than this.

My eyes are still a very powerful weapon when I use them right. They day they no longer have enough effect, i would absolutely look to upgrade. He could try to make her squirm, but he would not be successful. And yes, the monks make it by hand, using wooden presses that have been used for almost 2000 years. I should warn you, it tastes so pure you wont realize how much you've had. Even you may feel its effects. She waves for assistance, then waves off the first server droid that starts there way. She catches the eye of the bartender and gets 2 bottles. One for you my friend. She adds weight to the last part. And one for me.

Orik felt something odd in his mind. He examined it. Was it... respect? The infidel seemed to share some ideals of the Yuuzhan Vong, however Orik could not excuse the use of abominations. It was shameful, but like most of the galaxy, this Standash Thul would be cleansed. Orik eyed the bottle, fighting back a snarl. "I cannot touch such a thing, the container. It is an abomination in the sight of the Gods, made by lifeless machines. My patience wears thin, Standash Thul. I cannot remain in this heathen place for much longer. How can I pledge my species' assistance to Ryloth so that I may leave?"
Maybe this hadn't been a good idea. This work was for the intendants, not warriors.

Up till now Zarine had not contributed much to the conversation between Senator Koronov and the one who wished to the the new leader of the Empire. Instead, she had appeared politely unconcerned and listened, gathering information. And when Koronov looked around for another drink, she had one to hand him.
"Making friends?" she inquired, sotto voce. She was pleased that more members of the Senate had shown up, and she was already making notes of the faces and names that belonged to the representatives of worlds. Being relatively new to the political scene herself she felt that she had a lot of catching up to do, and while she would have died rather than admit it, she was glad that Koronov was here with her. He seemed to know a lot of people.
~An Empire in which the Sith do not have a priority---what will that be like?~ I wondered. I doubted it would last, since rumbles of Imperial thought tended to attract the servants of the Dark Side of the Force. But from an academic standpoint--

Standash, cant quite muffle a laugh. No my dear friend these bottles are hand blown. Most glass is anymore. They leave the machines to make cheap transparisteel. That stuff with no life or soul. On Alderaan we prefer to do things the harder way sometimes. It makes things feel more alive. She holds up the bottle of the clear liquer You can see the small bubbles inside the glass, giving it character. You could never get that with something done by a machine. Orik, it seams that you have much to learn about us. It is good that you came to this. Not just for Ryloth, but for yourself and your people.

Orik pondered the explanation, wondering if Standash Thul did not understand Yuuzhan Vong religion and way of life, and then he realised he was just as ignorant about the people of this galaxy as they were of the Yuuzhan Vong. Our culture and our way of life is dictated by the Yun'o he thought. I can afford to be ignorant. The heretics cannot, if they desire salvation.
"We both have a lot to learn, it seems, Standash Thul. Your container might have been made without machines, but it is still lifeless, not a servant created with the knowledge passed from the Gods. I think you would enjoy time among our shapers, who shape the life in the image of the Yun'o, who can explain such subtleties better. For now, though, suffice to say that I will not be drinking from that."

A flustered Ar'lah returned to her conversations with Orik. I apologize for that. Did I overhear correctly that you are wanting to transform my species? Or did I misunderstand?
Meanwhile...
Crom'nen indeed caught the meaning, but was worried little about such. He glanced down at Bel'fima who was delayed. Such great fortune, as so was he. I hope that you all do not find me to be rude, but I wish to speak with Senator Karesh and then I must prepare myself for my speech. If you will excuse me...
He motioned toward the stairs that led down from the balcony and back to the main floor.

Orik turned to the other alien while Standash Thul processed his statement. "My personal wish is to see the galaxy integrated to the Yuuzhan Vong, however I am on another mission. I am sent by Seer Tokin, leader of the resurrect Yuuzhan Vong, to lend our biological expertise in the restoration of Ryloth. You will find no better servants anywhere in this galaxy or beyond."
By servants, he meant the biological technology that the Yuuzhan Vong were so fond of.

Aya nods as Crom'men excuses himself. Looking out over the crowd, she spots another figure in Mandalorian armour, though the figure was also wearing a rather dramatic black cloak. Taking her chance, Aya & her escort slipped away from their host & made their way over toward the figure of Nuukh Hakh'khar.

I was not aware of any other mandos in attendance. =Agent 235=The intelligence agent was seated at a small table by himself, and was not partaking of the food and drink. Instead, he sat in silence, watching all that happened around him. Within the cowl of his black cloak, the T-shaped visor of a slightly blacker helmet was barely visible. As his vode approached, Nuukh leaned back in his chair, tilting his neck fractionally to glance up at Aya and her companion. So he was not alone among the aruetii, after all. Interesting."Su'cuy, ner'vode." He replied in a gravelly, slightly accented voice. He had never met Aya but he knew who she was. "Officially, I am not here at all." He added dryly. "But your ba'vodu (uncle) would be upset with me, if I were not friendly to you." He motioned to the table, and lowered his voice. "Come, have a seat, and I will tell you who I am."

Aya nods & takes one of the open seats, though her escort remains standing a pace away. The figure's use of the term ba'vodu meant he was taking orders from someone in Or'dinii, though probably not Plu himself. If it had been Plu the mando would have likely used the term ba'buir.
-Aya (In Mando'a) So Mr. Ghost, what 'fictional' story do you have to tell?
The gentle stress on the word fictional was intentional. That way the figure would know that Aya wasn't planing on doing anything about his presence, as well as allowing him to speak more freely under the pretence of telling a story.

As he shook the (former?) Imperial Knight's hand, Kel glanced down momentarily at the hand had had grasped. Nothing about the man's touch or the movements of his prosthesis had tipped it as cybernetic, but the Jedi could not sense it through the force in quite the same way that he would sense a truly living arm. That was not enough information to draw any conclusions about Solomon or his arm, but it was a curious fact worth remembering."Indeed." He replied, agreeing with Xeonon's spoken sentiments. He actually did care, although he was not here to make a personal show so much as to support others. The Jedi shrugged at the question. The truth was that relations had softened somewhat in recent weeks and months, but he was not inclined to give away too much about internal politics. Any misconception about Republic-Jedi relations by the Imperials could actually prove valuable. "I am here because I was invited as a guest speaker, given my past political involvements. But even if I had not been, my concerns are for the well being of all citizens of the galaxy, Republic or otherwise." Kel's deep blue eyes twinkled. "That includes the Empire." Kel tilted his head to the right a few degrees. "Which brings me to the Imperial Knights, an organization whose history I respect deeply." It was his turn to be a little bit forward in his questioning. Xeonon had gotten right down to business, and there was no reason the Jedi should hold back. "If I heard your introduction correctly, you were once their head?"

Bel'fima hesitated, a rare slip from her. She was so close to her quarry. But, she needed to be subtle on this hunt. She decided to deal with the Selonian first. She looked up into her eyes.=Bel'fima= Of course. This is one of our newest Senators, Avaro Qoode. You work with Senator Koronov, do you not? =Capt. Ruluwoor="No, not directly, but I understand the confusion." The Selonian's silky smooth voice was almost cat-like as she made eye contact with Qoode, acknowledging him with a polite smile, before returning her attention to Bel'fima. "Allow me to introduce myself, Senators. I am Captain Sara Ruluwoor of the Corellian Defense Forces, and I am here on behalf of my commander, Admiral Michael Korr." She bowed gracefully. "There are many guests here tonight who will offer you money to rebuild Ryloth, but we want to offer something more unique: expertise." She took a deep breath. Politics was not her strongest area, but the Selonian had been chosen as messenger to emphasize that this offer came from an organization with a mixture of species among its ranks, not just humans. "I know that Senator Koronov sought to amend the military spending budget to include aid for Ryloth's defense forces, and that the unpleasant politics of the last few months ruined that effort. What you may not know is that Senator Koronov asked Admiral Korr to create a training plan for the Ryloth defense forces, in anticipation of a larger deal being completed." It was a lot of words, and she hoped Bel'fima would let her finish."Admiral Korr would like to proceed with the training program, regardless of any politics or failed trade deals. The CDF is tasked with aiding the defense not only of the Corellian system, but of the entire Republic, and that includes ensuring that our sister worlds have the knowledge and skills to defend themselves."
