TIME: 1340
A vicious blizzard is underway, Visibility at >100 meters.
In Sector 4, signals emerge and merge, and then diverge again, rapidly gaining altitude. Three signals, slowly diverging, to force any resources pursuing them to break up and follow one of the targets. Their trajectory was regular, showing no evasive maneuvers yet.
Only one conclusion: Smugglers from a concealed mining operation were making a run for it.

Having established a major outpost on its surface, the First Order's kyber crystal production on Ilum increases slightly over the course of the next months. With the present Legions adjusting quickly towards the harsh weather conditions, General Harrol Theyne is able to form the local Stormtroopers into expierienced Snowtroopers for the outer borders of the First Order require the best of the best to protect them. With Grand Admiral Kasalle's fleet in orbit and daily TIE Harbinger patrol flights, the planet is under a constant lockdown. With signs of a smuggler operation ongoing, being present since the times of the Grand Moff's predecessor, the Imperials would follow the usual doctrine by allowing the Blizzard to do the dirty work, intercepting with starfighters, should the smugglers leave the atmosphere against all odds. Once the weather phenomenon has passed by, TIE bombers would be permitted to destroy the spotted targets within the perimeter, supported by the TIE Signal's superior sensor arrays in order to locate fleeing targets.
Although there solely minor inconvieniences in the form of accidents regarding Imperial vehicles, Grand Admiral Kasalle has also ordered the technicians to double-check vehicles within the intern areas of the base in order to prevent their pilots getting endangered. Although the conditions were hard, the Grand Admiral valued the men under her command as much as she valued her naval forces and thus ensured that operations on the surface went as smoothless as in orbit. Rumors claim, that the Grand Admiral had also installed officers from the Imperial Intelligence into the ranks of the new officers, given that two assassination attempts were made on her in the past and she also wanted to ensure that the defects weren't caused by former Grand Alliance members or other rebell scum. However, those talks weren't proven and only suggested by some of the Stormtrooper officers, who had served before under Kasalle's command, knowing that she was one of the few Imperial Admirals, who had an actual competent bodyguard in the form of chosen Novatroopers, elites among the elites of the Stormtroopers, around her.
Overall, Ilum was smoothly shaped into an imperial stronghold, a bulwark against the outer threats of the Unknown Regions.

TIME: 1341
*Orbital forces begin to shift to respond to the incoming data from ground command. TIE Fighters on ships in orbit, were scrambled to intercept the designated signals rising from Ilum's surface. *
The TIE crews were briefed en-route to intercept. The targets were designated S-1, S-2, and S-3. Orders were to disable the ships if possible, and destroy them if they attempted to hyperspace jump from the system. Securing any stolen Kyber ore was the priority. On the Surface: *During the storm, TIE bomber crews began their briefing for the bombing run that would destroy the smuggler encampment.*

ACE1187 opened his eyes -or rather, he became conscious that he was seeing. He saw a distorted world. He looked down at his hands to find they both were wrapped in a mass of gauze and bandages. His arms felt sluggish, until he realized he was suspended in a liquid. All his sensations felt dulled, and while he was in pain, it was a distant pain.
He hung suspended in the bacta tank while a droid puttered away around the tank.
The last thing he remembered was floating up out of his body, and feeling like he was flying down a tube towards a bright light. He couldn't remember much. He could remember the grin of the dead z-95 pilot... his shiny tooth glinting in the sun.
Ace heard muffled voices and felt himself drift off to sleep as the droid outside the tank administered a sedative.

"ACE1187, How are you feeling?" Ace heard the voice and roused, feeling groggy. "ACE1187, How are you feeling?" The medical droid was insistent. "I'm tired, I feel like I slept for a million years." He rolled over to face the droid. "That's the effect of the sedative. You were asleep for 34 hours, 24 minutes, ACE1187." "I didn't need a count." Those logic circuits. wow. "Understood. Do you remember how you got here?" "I was... I was..." Ace suddenly realized he had no eyelids. He sat up startled. "What happened to my eyes?!?" "The tissue was necrotic after severe prolonged frostbite. They could not be saved." Ace felt his eyes, and all he could feel were metal cylindrical implants sticking out of his skull. "ACE1187, Sensors indicate you are in distress. Do you require an anti-anxiolytic or tranquilizer?" "No! its just... Do I have any other body parts missing?" Ace was feeling himself up and down... not that he knew what he was looking for. "Yes, you were extensively damaged by the cold. In addition to your eyes, eye lids, ears, nose and lips, ACE1187, your hands and toes also had to be removed. The tissue there had died and could not be revived in the bacta tank." The droid's matter-of-fact bedside manner left much to be desired. "My lips??" Ace immediately felt his face and could feel his exposed teeth. His hands also felt the stump of a nose that opened into his nasal cavity. His hands brushed where his ears should have been and there was nothing, just the hole of his ear canal. He felt sick. "ACE1187 How are you feeling?" "Not great." he looked at his hands, realizing even they had been replaced. "Your heart rate and blood pressure are elevated. You presented to the trauma center with cardiac arrest. Adjusting your medication..." "Fracking mother fracker!" The medicine changes suddenly made Ace feel light headed and he blacked out.

ACE1187 stirred on the recovery bed. "Hey, how ya doin' bud?" Ace woke up to see Lt. P0X1010 (AKA "Pox") standing beside his bed. "Lieutenant! Sir!" Pox stopped Ace from sitting up. "At ease trooper! I just stopped by to see how you were doing." "Bugger, sir." Ace shook his head, and motioned with his hands at his face and the cylinders where his eyes used to be. "You can see how I am doing. My eyes! No nose, no lips! This planet, it screwed me good, sir." "You're lucky." Pox winked. "It actually makes you better looking." Ace laughed. "Ha!" "There is no way a lady is going to see you, find out you are a stormtrooper, and not think you are a war hero." "My father always told me, I'd never regret joining." Ace Chuckled. "That's right, you have to look at it that way. Its our duty, to the Emperor." Lt. Pox shifted to Business. "So, we don't know what happened to you after you lost contact. I need to debrief you on the accident. Are you feeling up to answering some questions?" "Sure boss."
Lt. Pox took a seat by the bed. "Why couldn't you respond to transmissions?" "Sir, I was losing power, and I couldn't boost it enough to get through to the base. Every time I tried, my breath would fog up my visor. I was using auto-pilot on the AT-RT and I didn't think I would make it back to base before the blizzard hit." "What did you do then?" "I hit the emergency locator beacon and went back to that downed Z-95 wreck by marker 2. Because I couldn't get power through the umbilical, I figured I might be able to switch out my internal power for some powercells at the crash. I noticed that the dead pilot in that wreck looked like he might have survived the crash, and if he did, then the inertial dampeners saved him, and if the inertial dampeners saved him, there might be some undamaged powercells in the cockpit that might work for me." Lt. Pox sat thinking, digesting that information. "You have a keen eye for detail son. Go on." "Well sir, I found powercells in the ship's ejector seat, and I tried to plug them in my suit, but I don't know what happened. I guess I fell alseep. The next thing I know, I woke up here in the infirmary." "The rescue team found you out there. You were dead. You had no heartbeat. You had no helmet on. Your face was all black from frostbite." Ace sat in silence, listening. "It was good thinking to use the emergency locator beacon. It saved you. That's the only way we could have found you before the blizzard. White armor in the white snow and all. Your body was cooling fast. The powercells almost worked, but the bright side is that because you died in the cold, the doctors said it prevented you from getting brain damage from oxygen deprivation." "Huh?" It was weird to hear that he had died. "Yeah, I didn't know that was possible, but then again, I'm a soldier, not a doctor." Lt. Pox stood up. "You heal up, and we'll get you back out there as soon as the doctors clear you for duty." "Thanks, Sir."
Pox walked to the door and then stopped. "By the way, while you were out, Some naval intelligence group recovered the Z-95 wreckage. They dug it out of the snow after the blizzard passed. We're all waiting to see if they get any intel on the smugglers in the area. You might be back in the game just in time to help us storm a base." "YES SIR!" That genuinely cheered the soldier up. He tried to salute while laying down. "See that you rest and heal up. That's an order, Trooper." *Lt. Pox saluted back and left.

Ace looked at himself in the mirror. The display gave him a 360 degree view of his face and his marred features. He was in his winter recon trooper armor, with his gloves off and helmet set to the side. His metal hands had yet to receive their flesh colored coatings. He felt over his exposed teeth, and around his eye cylinders. "I need to see this every morning. I need to learn this lesson. I need to remember that I was a lucky one." The Medical Droid was trying to persuade him to have the damage completely fixed. "Medical advances allow prosthesis to nearly seamlessly replace lost appendages. Your eyes, hands and toes have already been replaced." Ace raised an eyebrow. "Without my consent." The Droid explained. "ACE1187, you were in an actual coma, not a medically induced coma. Protocol requires medical droids to assume consent to treat in cases where a patient has been rendered organically unconscious. In addition, as a soldier of the First Order, you have already consented to life sustaining treatments for the duration of your term of service. As per your role as a soldier, we had to ensure you would become combat effective once again by replacing your eyes, hands, and toes with the best prosthesis the First Order offers. My role at this point is to inform and guide you towards cosmetic repairs that will support your psychological well-being." "Psychological well-being?" "Yes, ACE1187." The medical droid stated flatly. "How is my face able to give me psychological well-being?" "For several reasons, ACE1187. After traumatic experiences, individuals may be damaged in their worldview; the randomness, the uncertainty, the brute reality of mortality often conflict with person's ordered view of causality, and personal control over the future. Physical damage from trauma is an external reminder of these unsettling realizations and repeated exposure can produce its own species of trauma and psychological dysfunction over time if not mitigated." The droid explained matter-of-factly.

Ace was incredulous. "So you're saying seeing myself like this can drive me crazy?" "ACE1187, that is a crude oversimplification, devoid of nuance. Psychological outcomes are expressed in tendencies and probabilities, as well as a continuum of function and dysfunction depending on context. If I were to be as blunt, I would say, that humans constantly seek meaning, and in doing so they personalize events that should properly be considered random. Based on this and other human mis-attributions of the causality of traumatic events, reminders are not productive but only re-iterate cogitative errors overtime with greater risk of neuroticism with each re-iteration. This tendency is known in humans, and proper prosthetics can decrease negative psychological outcomes by 37%. The risk of increased neuroticism is unreasonable. "So if I look normal, I have a better chance of not getting PTSD?" Ace genuinely was surprised by that, if it was true. "That is not what I said, but is a close approximation of the aim of cosmetic prosthetics. It is likely that you already have PTSD, ACE1187, based on scans while undergoing recovery. We administered doses of SSRIs to your hippocampus to attempt to decrease negative memory formation." "You already have me on anti-depressants?" Ace sounded annoyed. "No, this was an acute treatment, not chronic. Our tests on your psychological functioning are positive so far. But we will continue to monitor your recovery." "So I am not crazy and on drugs." Not really a question, more of a statement. "No, ACE1187, you are not... "crazy." Your resistance to prosthetics is more an expression of your need for control in your life right now, than traumatic neuroticism." "Well, maybe I need some control right now." "An acceptable response, ACE1187." The Driod communicated approval through nodding its head, rather than with vocal tone.
"I don't need eyelids with these cylinders." Ace motioned to the ocular implants sticking out of his eye-sockets as metal cylinders. "Those were only meant to be temporary, until full eye prosthesis could be performed by a specialist." "But the differences between these and prosthetic eyes is just cosmetic, right?" Ace was thinking aloud. "Yes, these are not "temporary" in function, durability, or operational lifespan, just temporary in terms of cosmetics. They were not meant to be the final stop on the way to recovery."
"What about my nose? I don't need a nose." "That is correct, except for the marginal protection to sensitive nasal membranes and surfaces." The droid struggled with the conversation, and the use of the word "need." "I don't need lips." Ace stated. "Well, there has been some decrease in your communication ability, specifically vowel formation for O and U sounds, or fricatives. The lack of lips may increase the rate of tooth decay and in addition, you do drool occasionally, ACE1187, but it will not kill you." "I don't need ears." Ace also stated. "Ears do give increased audio focus and sound location sensitivity." The Droid was working hard to process where Ace was steering the conversation. "But my inner ear does the hearing. My outer ear is just superficial. Same with lips, nose and flesh color on my hands, right?" Ace spoke with more energy. "Yes and no, ACE1187. Even if they do not completely impair you, there are social considerations. Social and aesthetic acceptance. Humans like to fit in. Part of fitting in includes appearances. Not in a vain way, but to deny the need for conformity is to deny that occasionally human judgment of others is merely superficial and only goes "skin deep," to use a metaphor. Failure to address how you may appear to others would render you an anomaly to them, and you may not fit in."

"I an imperial trooper. This is my face." Ace tapped his helmet sitting by his side, and then thumped his plastoid chest plate. "This is my skin. This is all I ever wanted or needed. Cosmetic prosthetics will not negatively affect my combat effectiveness and so this is still my decision." "You are a fine soldier, ACE1187. You are correct. While wearing a helmet, your lack of prosthetics will not impact your function. Regardless, I urge you to delay your decision and at least get clear prosthetics and clear protective coatings, while you continue to deliberate on an ultimate decision." The medical droid pulled that move to prevent it from having to recognize Ace's decision as final. "Is that your medical opinion?" "Yes ACE1187, it is. Even under your helmet, the sensation and feedback of the prosthetics will provide positive medical benefits. Being able to smile with lips will stimulate positive neurotransmitters. My opinion is conclusive." "If it will shut you up for now, fine, do the clear coatings. But I don't have to like it." "I will duly note your present preference in your file for a later check-up, ACE1187." "Will this take long?" "No." The medical droid was already to begin with his instruments. "Good, because I was hoping to get back to my unit and-" The medical droid administered a sedative and began.

Ilum Imperial Headquarters, military graveyard - Funeral of the fallen Stormtroopers aboard the Charybdis
The weather was mild, when a majority of the 187th Legion gathered within the large area, located nearby the First Order's major outpost, the I.P.O.F. towering visible in the distance. Once a desolate plain, now a graveyard, featuring the first four graves of those, who had fallen in an event, which was declared by the Imperial Military forces as an assassination attempt upon the Grand Admiral's flagship. Three men, one woman. One of the three a Zabrak volunteer. Each of their names was shown on the tombstone, while General Harrol Theyne would proclaim them on a podium to the audience. Solely the Grandmoff and her bodyguard stood behind him along few high-ranked officers, who overlooked the ceremony, as the chapel played the funeral march.
To see the civil pictures on the carbonite gravestone reminded Jenia Kasalle once more that all of these soldiers, thousands gathered at this place were all individuals, troopers from various places, having joined the corps from various systems. Nothing she had really forgotten in all the time she had served within the Imperial Navy, but yet... it was easy to see the Imperial forces as what rebells tend to see in them. Monsters. Robots. Stormtroopers. None of us sees the individuals.
Dressed within their Snowtrooper uniform, the coffins were slowly lowered into the frozen grounds. On the general's command, the entirety of the present soldiers saluted, raised their blaster rifle in respect. >>Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!<< The echo alone brought more chill over Jenia's skin than the iron cold of Ilum ever could. Here they were in unison, standing to mourn the fallen. And yet, no matter the losses, they were all comrades. Unlike the families of those, who had travelled here with a shuttle to wave away their frozen tears from their faces, these troopers felt the same pride for the First Order and the Empire as a whole as Jenia did. Many more will most likely end up buried in a grave here. Perhaps even Jenia herself some day. But not today. For these days had yet to come.
The funeral ceremony came eventually to an end, as the battalions were ordered back towards their posts. The next blizzard would come up in roughly a few hours and there was barely time for anyone on Ilum to keep events like these unnecessary longer than necessary, if they didn't want to bury more poor souls on this frozen ground. Standing near one of the troop transporters, the Grandmoff saw, as the officers began to tell the families of the fallen troopers their condolences, escorting them safely into the protecting vehicles. Coming down from the podium, General Theyne gave the Grand Moff a brief nod. She appreciated so far his speech, as he was not solely better than her when it came to this, but would probably earn more respect for himself among the troops. She was the Grand Moff in the end, now so distant in terms of position when it came to the position of a regular Stormtrooper recruit. They didn't have to care about her. But the 187th would care for their general, the man, who lead them. If they also held respect for Jenia, it was something she acknowledged, but not as important as the respect they held for the man, who would also lead them in her absence.
With her return to Ilum and the repairing of the Charybdis, Jenia had already been informed that her presence would be needed elsewhere. Her leader qualities would be required soon on other, more vital worlds within the Imperial system. Worlds where she would have to fight back crime, prejudices and hatred against the Imperial ideology. Where she would have to keep both the enemies of the system and the conservative hardliners in check, for reforms would come. The world of Adumar had already shown the Grand Admiral that cooperation was the key to break the rust of outdated imperial beliefs, while maintaining a system worthy of the Fel Emperors' rule. In time, Jenia would assemble the fleet and parts of her Legion to head towards Muunilist. The former capital. Where it all started.

Scout teams of the Harbinger patrols have uncovered further ruined sites within the southern hemispheres, which seem to belong to a previous base on the planet, most likely a shelter. Though the climate makes it hard to actually confirm what's inside these ruins and who had previously build them, an expedition team has been approved by the local command and will launch within the next three weeks, once the obtained data has been processed onto holograms for further research. While the First Order's hold over the planet is firm, there were still many secrets to uncover when it came to the ice planet, that mainly served as a mining facility for kyber crystals.

Deep below the imperial complex of the First Order's base on Ilum, an isolated chamber was still doing it's work routine. With two Novatroopers flanking the entrance on the elevator level, that could only be entered with the right ID and DNA scans, the Khommite scientist, that was conducting his work down there, was watching meticulously the graphics upon the installation screens. So far everything seemed stable. Nothing out of the ordinary. Looking over to the single massive pod, that was standing in the corner, the scientist analyzed the human-shaped being within, small, but nontheless recognizable by now. By now they had spent several months on the process of shaping in the image of creation. A slow, yet stable process. The scientist knew that the whole project would still take it's time, yet nothing was out of the ordinary. Even when at some point a hazardous blizzard had hit the main facility harder than expected, having caused a power outage temporarily, the emergency aggregats had maintained a steady pace. For the outside world he and the Novatroopers that were guarding this area of the complex were ghosts, basically non-existent. Only the Grand Admiral herself and Director Merrick Piett were aware of this section's existence. The Khommite could reason to some degree why, when remembering the records of Grand Admiral Kasalle. Too many dangers, too many enemies she had already made within the past. He could certainly reason the decision, knowing that the secret would be safer here than on his homeworld.
Giving the Spaarti cylinder another glance with his cold eyes, he eventually ended his shift, heading towards his chambers, where food and rest would be provided for him by the imperial elite soldiers. A usual day on Ilum as always without any major complications.

Given previous reports towards the HI-C, and a more recent insight report from Director Malachai herself the results of the recent months were so far indicating no further problems aside from few fluctuations after further inspection by the Khommite scientist. Meticulously he analyzed the numbers, recalculated previous data in order to remove potential mistakes, recieving always a similiar result. Shaking his head, unsure if he was overlooking something larger or not, he took again the blood vial, that had been delivered to him nearly over a year ago, when the Grand Admiral had commissioned the process. The blood sample of the father. Who the person in question was, the Khommite neither knew. He could make a few good guesses, given his own access upon imperial databanks and the user registry, but the nature of the blood's origin didn't seem important up until now. Again he ran an analysis over the probe, so far seeing hardly anything that would indicate a cause for the increase on midi-chlorians within the blood level of the clone subject. The files of the flash training were also checked again, yet there was hardly anything that was sticking out to it. For most it was a basic learning program, that began with the simple lessons of life, showing wonderful moments and expieriences before going into the deeper ground levels of education. The life of a girl raised within the Arkanian clone facilities of HI-C by regular means - a simple file, that was as basic, simple and beautiful enough that it would reduce the probability of clone madness. Yet, it was unlikely that this had been the cause for it. Maybe the absence of Ysalamiri was one of the problems?
The scientist brooded over the problem again, coming to no further result. At the same time though it didn't seem to be a problem. With Grand Admiral Kasalle currently away on a mission, that was trusted upon her by the First Order, there was noone to ask on this matter, while both Director Piett and the Emperor neither gave their disapproval to the continuation of the project. If it would have been the Khommite's decision, he probably would have stopped the project already. Nothing good came from the Force, that was his belief and Galactic history seemed to proof this point of view somewhat right in hindsight. Yet it was not on his side to decide. And thus he waited patiently. It wouldn't take long now until the process was finished...

The warmth... the images of life... life went by on the fly... there was so much outside there to see, now that she had passed the regular schools... warmth and fluid... she remembered what the instructor told her... she is one of many, one based upon another... but so was the circle of life... individuality is not based on your genes... it is based on your decisions... there is no bad in what you are... and yet...
Rieva!
She gasped this time, as there was again this voice again. So familiar, despite she had never heard it before in her life other than the few times. Again she felt the taste of chemical fluid on her tongue despite the air she is breathing... the images... flicker... Who called after her? Was that... her name? She never had a name, only an identifier... the instructor had told her that she would recieve a name once she had passed the academy. But... who was this... who... why made reality again hardly any sense.
Rieva... it's time... time to wake up!
Again this voice... what... what was going on here? Who was calling out for her. Wait, was that even her? No, she had no name! The instructor said this would happen, once she passed the academy...
Open your eyes... open them!
What was that voice talking about? She was already watching with open eyes, as the gardens of Kuat passed by, her colleagues accompanying her... what else was there to see...?
Open them... now!
There was hardly any logic behind it... and yet... Rieva did as the voice had told her. Her eyes opened, slowly as her lids flickered. The numbness... it became... clearer, as if she was about to awake from a dream.
That was, when she realized that something was off. The image of the officer's academy section for students of the Hesperidium Institute faded away and lights blinded her sight. Lights that actually hurted her eyes, as it was somehow reflected by... water?? Was she underwater somehow? She panicked, not really understand what was going on. Wait, was this a bacta tank again? But why was she tied to those tubes inside-? What was-? She tried to scream in shock, as the strange fluid entered her mouth just as if it was air. What in the world was going on? Where was she? Even through the glass she didn't recognize this installation. Outside seemed to be someone, someone large. A person? She tried to yell, tried to move, yet nothing felt as if it worked. The tubes restrained her, she felt locked in place. Was she... was she trapped? Again she tried to yell, now that her mind was clearer and she saw even more things, that scared her nearly up to the point where she was nearly beginning to question her own reality. Keep calm, when you wake up in a place you do not recognize, she remembered one of the lessons that she had learnt in her childhood. It felt as if it was just months ago, when her teacher told her that... wait, was it months? Heck, this was years ago, back when... back when...
But the panic was too strong. She struggled against the machinery, saw that something was apparently also going on at the outside. Lamps flashing on the consoles, the blurry images of warning signs in basic and another language she couldn't clearly identify. The girl's fear would have driven her to hammer at the glass if she could had. No, this couldn't be real, she was supposed to visit the Kuat officer's academy for finding out her role within the Empire! Then she would finally got told who her parents were and to which family she would belong and... and...
Something cracked within her mind, as the emotions grew stronger and she felt how her thoughts struggled now as well against the tube in which she was hold like a prisoner. Suddenly there were cracks on the outside of the glass, then another, then one more. Before she knew it, the world around her exploded as glass shattered and she fell down with a scream she could actually hear. Her own voice... it... it was so different!? What-!? Why-?? How-?? Why felt everything so cold now? Why did this all remind her so much on the memories she had, when she was born the first time...?

The Khommite scientist was already about to signal outside forces, when a small group of Novatroopers entered the hidden compartment beneath the facility via the only turbolift that was connected towards the underground cave section. Holding up his arms, as the black-painted elite Stormtroopers secured the laboratory with their rifles tracking every eventual hiding spot within this scientific laboratory room, there wasn't much to be found except for the unconcious girl on the ground and the scientist from the Hesperidium Institute of Cloning himself. In itself the laboratory was a mess, with the Spaarti cylinder having melted down completely, the glass window shattered while the connecting tubes to the cloned individual inside it were torn. Console screens flickered, as most of the panels were damaged from the brief power shortage that was caused by the events within the facility. Two of the soldiers rounded up the scientist, while the captain of the soldiers confronted the alien cloner. "What is the meaning of this?" The question was more formal, yet still accusing as he watched how one of the soldiers took a rescue blanket from one of the emergency kits to cover the unconcious body of the young woman on the floor. Only the soldiers and the scientist knew alongside the base's high command who was there on the ground, knowing that the girl had to survive, no matter the means. Otherwise it would be the end of their careers for certain. "She caused it", the Khommite said calmly, a slight grudge in his voice however recognizable, "I had warned the Director several times that this could happen, when Midichlorians were in play... now we will have to explain this towards the Grand Moff. Her training isn't complete yet and it is likely that she might suffer from the fatique of clone insanity. An elimination of the experiment might still be considered a potential solution-" The scientist stopped, as the rifle was pointed now directly at him, the visor of the Novatrooper only staring at him blankly. While there was no visible emotion on the Khommite's face, he was smart enough to know when to stop talking. "She's stable so far, pulse going at a regular rate.", one of the Novatroopers next to her stated, as the clone was wrapped up properly and checked for any injuries, "She'll survive it." "Very well", the captain spoke then, "Send a deciphered message towards the Muunilinst High Command, Codename Dormant Crystal. Both the Emperor and Director Piett have to be informed of the child's capabilities in absence of the Grand Moff in her duty as Grand Admiral. Make it discrete and without anyone's knowledge, soldier." "Aye Sir!" While the Novatrooper left, the scientist still remained where they were, so far still angered about their treatment. "What should I tell Director Malachai and the council?", he then asked eventually, knowing why they still held him at gunpoint. "Until we have recieved an answer from the Imperial Palace, nothing", the voice echoed cold from the helmet of the captain, "You will stay in quarentine on the upper levels as a guest for the meantime, the same rules applying as before. Any words about the child prior to the Emperor's answer and regarding it's origins and you won't leave Ilum alive, no matter your position within the HI-C." Although the scientist didn't look too intimidated, his nod came swiftly. "Very well then. I can agree to these terms."
Similiar to a prisoner the man was lead out by the small squad of Novatroopers, while the girl was carried in tow, the captain of the squad backing them up as each of them entered the turbolift. Now that their work down here was complete, it was likely that they would have to clean up the evidence within the next few weeks and destroy every leftover asset, that would allow anyone unknowing to trace back the events that had transpired beneath the First Order's base, even below the bunker levels of the planetary high command. Noone needed to know that a clone of the Grand Admiral existed at this point and neither would the public have either to know that the child even was a clone. These were the instructions that they had recieved since the beginning of the project and in that way they would still follow the protocol, eliminating any potential threat that would possibly threaten this very secret, that was built up within the icy depths of Ilum itself.

With the construction of the main base having mostly finished, life on Ilum continiued on without further incidents for the 191th Legion. While rumors of a more recent incident below in the sublevels of the base began to spread, the overall morale was high and the cold temperatures could be endured by most of the troopers with only minor incidents among those, that grew tired of the same sight over and over again. With their discipline high and their aim to follow within the footsteps of the 187th, who had become one of the more honored regiments in recent imperial history, morale was so far high, even if the aim of most Stormtroopers still seemed to lack in the snow-covered training areals of the inner base.
Shipments from the planet's cyber crystal mines arrived steadily and without further incident, making life easy for the walker patrols on this forlorn world of an iceball. Some of the rare ruin sights were already considered for building up further checkpoint bases on the planet in order to guarentee a safe journey of the mining convoys towards the space port, but so far the authorities haven't settled on a decision yet. Various mobile options, either by regular transport means or a train system were considered in the process until one of these options would become a potential reality for increasing the speed of resupplying the First Order and their more advanced weapon systems.

With the main base fully functional, plans to install a potential cargo train line between the mines and the First Order's main base were in motion. While the delivery of kyber crystals happened on a constant rate, engineers and local officers have discussed further ideas on improving the convoi lines to avoid further incidents.
While the hazardous terrain of the planet would provide a challenge for sure, imperial technicians deem it possible to install at least one functional line for an Imperial Railcrawler, that would even defy the icy storms of the planet. However others suggested potential underground routes as a safer option, that might provide safer passages from both the weather and external intruders, utilizing the vast underground terrain of Ilum for the advantages of the First Order's buiseness.
In either case though the Grand Moff has not made a decision, leaving up further plans on how to improve logistics upon the cargo up to speculation.

Imperial Headquarters - Ilum Base
Since the return of Jenia from the outer regions of the galaxy, various recruits of Stormtrooper platoons have reached the end of their training upon the icy world of Ilum. While a majority of these troopers would be transfered to other legions within the galaxy, several of these elite troopers would be transfered to the ranks of the 187th Legion, the personal Stormtrooper legion under Grand Admiral Kasalle's command. Yet a new generation of tank pilots would also form from this training with the formation of Taskforce Avalanche, the spiritual successor of the famous Blizzard taskforce during the Imperial assault upon Hoth. Spearheaded by 5 AT-M6 walkers and 20 modernized AT-ATs of the First Order's variant, this designated walker regiment would be capable of maintaining order even upon the roughest of worlds within the Imperial sectors.
In absence of the Grand Admiral, the ammount of harvested kyber crystals had increased tremendously due to a previously built railway-system, that would connect the mines with the imperial space port on the planet. While still marking a small spot on the planet's overall surface, imperial activities on Ilum flourish with the military base growing with each day. The first step of conquering the harsh climate of the planet was made, no matter the natural disasters and other havocs, that had striked the Ilum Base within the past. Whether the remote outpost will however remain as a stable, functionale remote outpost or grow into something more in order to serve as a military frontier against outside threats, would however still be in question.
