Garrick had anticipated such a move. It was standard tactics for a defending force. As such, he had held off te attack after the first Nebula was destroyed. Waiting for the smaller ships to begin trying to attack their flanks. The massive weapons aboard the Star Destroyers, and the smaller ones on the Cruisers and frigates opened fire upon the small gunboats and cruisers, scattering them immediately. Those that tried to breach the formation were annihilated by the constant fire of a wing of starfighters, while the alliance starfighters had blazed past the forward line, sustaining moderate losses from the point defense weapons of the frigates and corvettes. Then, however, they got bogged down by the middle line and a large part of the starfighter complement of the fleet. Leading to a skirmish between the fighters.
Aboard the bridge of the Crusader, Garrick wore a smirk on his face. Things were going exactly as he thought they would. All they had to do is break through the orbital defense lines, which by now the Cruisers and gunboats that had attempted a flank were joining, in time for when the sixth fleet arrived. Due to the lack of pressure on the flanks, Garrick could once again focus his attention on the fleet in front of him. Shots hammered the Nebulas, but they were too far away to have any spectacular effect. But at this rate, the Saurians knew they would be beaten if this went on. The moment the rest of the fleet arrived, they were finished. They would have to attempt a breakout. And when they did, Garrick would be ready.

Africanus knew that while they maintained their distance, the First Order could not hammer them hard. But he also knew they could not maintain this long range sling fest for long, especially as the Cruisers and Gunboats were mowed down. The Nebula's pushed further forward, closing the gap with the invading forces. Their guns focusing toward the flagship to batter it as they pushed on
The Praetorian guard forced open the giant gilded doors leading into the council chambers, so that Titus could stroll in undisturbed. The Council sat in session, while the auditorium was filled with lesser governmental leaders and celebrities. Their gazes all turned upon him as he strode along the walkway, his cloak billowing out behind him to lend an extra air of nobility than what he was used to. He came to a stop as he ascended the small platform reserved for those wishing to address the council.
He held each Council members gaze for a moment as the room broke out in an uproar. The people filling the auditorium cursing his name and telling him to go back to where he came from. He simply stood there in silence, waiting. The Praetorian Guard took up a formation around the platform, their arms sheathed as they stood facing out from Titus. He rested his gaze on the Chairman of the Council then, as the Chistori banged a gavel against the desk. Calling all assembled within the chambers to order ORDER! ORDER WITHIN THIS COUNCIL! Maximus Titus, what are you doing here? You and your Order were banished from Chistoria!
And I have returned in our people's hour of need! The First Order sits on your doorstep, harassing your fleet! I have come to offer my aide in my homeworlds defence!
This is your home world no longer Titus... You disgraced our people! You are not fit to stand within these chambers! Titus shifted his gaze to one of the councilors seated on the far right of the bench that had spoken. He might have risen to the male's challenge once, years ago before he had trained as a Jedi. But he had become a better man since then. He let out a sigh as more shouts and insults were hurled at him from the crowd. He hung his head a moment, taking a breath in before locking his gaze upon the Chairman It is Jedi Lord Maximus Titus! And as far as I can tell it, I'm the only one fit to stand here... You sit around, debating my honor while you ignore the threat that sits in orbit! What were you even doing here?! Why were the alarms not raised? The civilians not taking shelter?! Or were you all too busy thinking about yourselves?! I didn't ask for the title that was thrust upon me, but I will damn well live up to it! Can any of you say the same?!
ORDER! Jedi Lord... You might have a new title, but your arrogance has not changed! The Saurian Communal Defence fleet will fight off this invasion! the First Order will not land before the Galactic Alliance arrives to deal with this...
The Galactic Alliance is dead! The room fell silent then, every proud smile falling flat...

Garrick gestured for all shields to be set to full front. He had expected this sort of move. While it was ideal that they would have stayed in its original position, taking the brunt of the immense firepower of the Crusader, this worked just as well. The Admiral has prepared for a move like this.
Ordering his ships to allow the Nebulas to pass and instead focus on the support ships, he prepared for attack. He knew that the alien ships would not attack the support vessels, as that would leave them vulnerable to a slash from the rear by the Star Destroyer. No, they would focus down the command ships. The admiral of the enemy fleet was, clearly, not particularly good at his job. He would pay for that arrogance today, however. The hard edge of the strike force penetrated through the enemy lines in an Ackbar Slash, but with an arrowhead style formation brought into it. This allowed for them to begin the final destruction of the cruisers and gunboats. On the bridge of the Crusader, Garrick faced down the two Nebulas, biding his time until they got close enough.
Not yet... not yet... not yet...
He watched as crewmen had their fingers on the buttons to order the firing of the guns. In the gun turrets, gunners had their sights trained on the pale yellow light eminating front the enemy bridge. The massive red and white hulls of the enemy ships blocked out Garrick’s view of Chistoria, as he waited for the right moment.
Not yet.. not yet... now!
Suddenly, two more Imperial Star Destroyers jumped in from behind the Nebulas in a Thrawn Pincer style maneuver. Africanus had failed to anticipate such a tactic, and had his deflector shields concetrated to the front of the ship. A second later, Garrick gave the command to open fire. A cloud of green lasers began dancing around the enemy ships as the combined might of three star Destroyers began hammering into them, obliterating their shields and tearing at their hulls. Due to the quantity of firepower and the way the fire was concentrated, sheilds were destroyed in mere minutes, with the hulls of the enemy ships soon after. The secondary command ship was blown to pieces, and Garrick gave his typical emotionless stare as the fire began to concentrate on the remaining capital ship. Closer to Chistoria, meanwhile, the three Vindicator-Class Heavy Cruisers and the Procursator-Class Star Destroyer were hunting down the last remaining cruisers, deploying fighters to search and destroy life pods. On the bridge of the Crusader, Garrick gave his orders.
“Bring in the rest of the fleet. Prepare the fighters and gunships.”

Africanus watched as the sensor alerts sounded as the additional Imperial Star Destroyers appeared from hyperspace behind the leading Nebula's. As the hail of fire started, the command to abandon ship was given. The ensuing chaos seemed a blur as crew members rushed for escape pods, which started firing toward the surface of Chistoria. The next thing he seemed to have any clarity on, was laying in a personal escape pod as it shot past the Imperial ships toward the surface of the planet. Imperial Transports could be seen in the distance launching from the Star Destroyers. Much as he tried, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was hurtling toward the ground as some kind of grim precursor to a great cataclysmic event...
The chamber remained silent as its members tried to process the information that had just been delivered. But Titus was suddenly preoccupied with a shift within the Force from behind, causing him to turn toward the entrance of the council chamber. Something had gone terribly wrong in orbit. And then without warning, the roof collapsed in as a pod crashed down intro the ground. People rushed out of the way as fast as they could to escape the falling rubble. Titus hovered his hand over his hilt, before the hatch burst open and Africanus pulled himself free Legate?...
Maximus... The fleet has fallen... The First Order is landing! Of all the news they needed right now, this was not it. Titus turned back to the council, all of whom seemed to be struggling with the situation that was rapidly evolving before them. It was clear none of them were going to be of any use in this situation as he got off the platform and moved to Africanus' side, helping the Legate free of the pod and stand up Are you ok?
Nothing that a little rest won't cure... What are you doing back here?
Isn't it obvious? I'd hoped to rebuild relations between the Jedi Lords and Chistoria, now that the Galactic Alliance has fallen...
So that's why the First Order has shown up... Judging by the council, it looks like your efforts were quite in vain...
Clearly... But we can worry about that later. For now, we need to get as many people evacuated as we can... Has anything survived the battle?
Nothing that was in orbit... So far this day was going from bad to worse. He was fairly confident that there were not enough passenger ships on Chistoria to evacuate everyone. Though he was kidding himself to think that they would be able to save everyone. Africanus cleared his throat then, drawing Titus' gaze back to the Legate However... Not everything was in orbit... The stallions are... were undergoing some work in atmosphere on the other side of the planet...
Would they still be space worthy?
Of course. But Maximus...
I know... They won't be able to fit everyone, but it might be enough to make a difference... We need to get this plan moving now!
Very well... I'll get the word out. We'll fill as much standing room as we can get, but with how close the First Order is...
Get as many as you can free... I'll rally the army here to fend off the First Order for as long as I can... Titus shook Africanus' hand, before the Legate headed out of the chamber to begin broadcasting the evacuation and prepare the Argento and Scarto for the escape. Titus meanwhile turned his attention back to the council, raising his voice to be heard If you're done cowering like fools, I suggest you all get on transports and head for the Argento and Scarto! The First Order army is about to land and they will kill or enslave anyone that stays behind here!
You must save us Master Jedi! You can't just leave us undefended! In fact, it is your duty, as charged by this council, that you ensure that we make it aboard the vessels!
No! You have abused your power for the last time! If I were to escort you there, then I leave thousands more unprotected! You will not be granted privilege! This council is disbanded! Save yourselves in your private craft if you have them and dare risk it! Otherwise, make for the stallions! You will be granted passage if you can make it aboard. Otherwise, I suggest you find a place to hide in the wilderness! Now go! Praetorians, on me! The Praetorians formed up around Titus as he lead the way out of the council chambers and into the streets, his shield activating as he drew his lightsaber and turned his attention to the sky as air raid klaxons sounded throughout the city. Local anti-air defences were already starting to fill the air with flak rounds

The battle in space had been all but won. The pincer attack had left the forces in orbit either destroyed or routed. The one or two cruisers whose captains were wise and saw the trap for what it was were now under heavy fire by the support vessels of the fleet. Anyone who surrendered would be brought aboard the Star Destroyers, but otherwise, the ships would be disabled, then boarded and searched for information. TIE fighters moved to secure the wreckage, while a lone Acclamator-Class Assault ship jumped into orbit, in line with the three Imperial-Class destroyers. It was from this vessel that the majority of the ground landings would be taking place; in many ways, it was the heart of the ground phase of the plan. However, not everything was in place for that phase to begin. On the bridge of the Crusader, Garrick and his officers stood around a holotable, with a map of Chistoria laid out before them. Yellow markers pinpointed locations of cities, while red markers denoted possible areas of egress. Garrick moved forward and gestured to the map in order to start his briefing.
"Gentlemen, the first stage of our assault on this planet has proceeded quite well. We have nearly completely routed the enemy in orbit, and have established firm control of the space around the planet. However, we cannot rest, for the second phase of our plan is now. This operation will have two primary targets. The capital city, here, is the most important. We have credible evidence to believe that the current planetary government is still within the city, in spite of our attack. The other is the Plains military base just outside the city, and more specifically the anti-air cannons housed there."
Garrick gestured to the two spots on the map, as the rest of the planet disappeared and a more comprehensive plan of the hot zones was brought up. The anti-air cannons housed at the base were the sole thing powerful enough to bring down the Acclamator as it tried to land, and so they had to go by any means necessary. Likewise, the city housed cannons, but they were designed primarily to defend against starfighters and gunships, with the assumption that the military base would remain standing. Clearly, whoever designed that base either had great faith in their work or were very pompous and assumed themselves to be infallible, and given the lackluster defense of the planet, Garrick would have to guess it was the second. That assumption would be put to the test with this invasion.
"Forces will be split into two groups; Force Alpha and Force Beta. Force Alpha's primary directive is to attack and destroy the shield generators and anti-air stations at the military base. Once these two have been destroyed, the fleet in orbit can raze the base to the ground and land our Acclamator in the desert near the base to launch our mechanized infantry to take the city. To that end, the naval forces that comprise this task force will be given access to the new Demolisher Bombers that have recently been delivered. These crafts have the ordinance necessary to destroy the base. The ground forces of Alpha will be charged with engaging the light anti-air weapons at the base so the bombers can get through.
The new ships, while untested in live combat, had been initially conceptualized by Bilbringi Shipyards, which was under the direct supervision of Garrick himself, giving him some degree of confidence in their work.
Meanwhile, Force Beta's objective will be to prevent the escape of the leaders of the planet from the Capital City. They will doubtless attempt to escape via the Nebula-Class Destroyers nearby; their role will be to prevent them from leaving the city. Gunships will drop the soldiers in, and will then provide directed fire support alongside fighters and light bombers. The lighter vessels in the fleet will also provide strikes should it be deemed necessary."
This would hopefully allow this to be a quick war, with minimal civilian casualties. The last thing they needed was a repeat of the incident that occurred at Naboo. Following this brief, all the troops, who had already reported to station, were informed of what was going to happen. After a salute, all the craft launched, a swarm that would engulf Chistoria. LAAT/c and Titan dropships, TIE Demolishers and TIE/fo fighters sped towards the military base, while LAAT/is, fighters, and TIE bombers descended on the capital. As gunnery crews sat on the edges of their seats, waiting for any calls for orbital strikes, Garrick stood at the forward viewport of the bridge of the Crusader as his forces broke into the atmosphere.

Emptiness. That was what was laid out before Lucien. Through the viewport of the Guardian Mantis II, he could pick out a number of very distant star systems, but these were just tiny pinpricks on the otherwise solid mat of ochre that enveloped the lonely fighter. It was the first real peace he had gotten since the ill-fated Galactic Alliance defense of its capital, Mon Calamari. Since the destruction of his ship, he had been fleeing the First Order from sector to sector, from system to system. He was exhausted, his ship only had enough fuel for one more jump, and he was nearly out of food and water. It was definitely not an ideal situation to be in. Listening in to the radio chatter bouncing back and forth, he tried to gather any information he could about First Order presence in the area. He would need to time this jump perfectly, or he risked being killed the second he came out of hyperspace. Messing with some settings on the fighter's dashboard to keep it as energy efficient as possible, he waited for any actionable intelligence to come in. Alliance communications were in chaos as the government splintered apart, but there was some hope that at least a few commanders would hold the network together.

As the base defences started firing into the air toward the First Order forces, Maximus provided as much aide as he dared in directing civilians to flee the city. Air and Land speeders were laden with passengers as they made to leave the city, moving as fast as possible in the direction opposite to where the First Order forces were landing. Any cargo transports sitting in the spaceport were emptied of their goods to make space for the refugee's that were loaded in.
Several of them had reached capacity and started making their way free of the city under cover of the anti-air flak as the First Order fighters appeared on the horizon. A number of X-wings and A-wing were launched from the base to help further combat the invasion force. Their focus split between the troop transports and the TIE's. This was not a battle they could win, but they'd do their best to exact as heavy a toll as possible on the Empire.
Maximus kept making his way toward the edge of the city as the TIE fighters began their bombing runs, in attempts to cripple the defensive emplacements. Several guns took direct hits and were downed, but several more still remained operational and fired back at the attackers. Soldiers that were not directly assisting the evacuation, were forming up in defense positions. Barricades were hastily being erected from overturned speeders and as many emergency resources as could be accessed in the time that they had

As the handful of A-Wings and X-Wings were launched, a group of TIE Avengers moved to intercept the ships as they moved towards the First Order forces. The fighters arced through the skies in a mess of lasers, streaking craft, and falling smoke trails as a furious dogfight broke out, like a swarm of insects tearing apart a piece of food forgotten on a countertop.
At the same time, a group of TIE Demolishers and Avengers raced towards the base, low to the ground to avoid radar detection by the large number of anti-air stations that dotted the route they were flying. Once they got within range of the shield, they would only have a few critical seconds to launch their bombs before they would either have to pull up safely or be consumed by their own bombs as they destroyed the structure.
The commander of Force Beta, meanwhile, was in a LAAT gunship ready to drop into the city. A number of Avengers also accompanied this battlegroup as it sped towards the city, destroying any anti-air stations that attempted to resist the Imperial invasion. Aboard the gunships, a number of storm commandos and dark troopers, alongside jumptroupers, skytroopers, and deathtroopers. In addition, LAAT/c gunships accompanied the invasion, carrying with them AT-TEs loaded with stormtroopers, which would be dropped alongside the soldiers in the city, ensuring that the soldiers had enough fire support to hold out in the main square until the bombers destroyed the military base, which would allow the bulk of the forces to land just outside the city, in order to fully besiege it.

It was like watching someone set a lit match to a powder keg. The scene ground side descended into one of pure chaos as the Chistori Defence Force did their best to take as many Imperial Craft and Troopers down with them. Starfighters zipped through the air, with the small handful managing to escape fatal bolts from the TIE fighters that pursued them. The Base shield held out against the bombing runs, the energy systems managing to survive the initial run. The Flak Guns working to swivel around and fill the air with fire.
As the first of the First Order soldiers landed, the fortified forces started to let loose volleys of laser fire, hoping to slow the tide of forces that were disembarking from the ships. Titus gripped his saber hilt tighter, biding his time until the Stormtroopers got within melee range. His light-shield activating to deflect anyone hoping to get a lucky shot upon the Jedi Lord

The initial bombing raids by the Alpha Force proved ineffective against the military-grade shielding of the base, meaning that for now, the main landing would be stunted until the Star destroyers could be brought around such that the ion cannons aboard the vessels could be used to disable the shields. In the meanwhile, the fighters and bombers clustered up, beginning to lay out their next attack run, while the Chistori Defense Fighters zipped in and out of the tight formations. Several fighters took hits, sending a few of them spiralling to the planets surface, but the majority of the force was still alive. As the ground forces of this assault began systematically dismantling the AA systems surrounding the base with their heavy AT-M6s, the large Star Destroyers in orbit began bringing themselves about to discharge ion shot against the shield.
However, Force Beta was fairing much better in its assault. With its lighting warfare tactics, a firing line was set up and a courtyard cleared, allowing for LAAT/c Gunships to begin landing AT-TEs, AT-RTs, and AT-STs to provide armor support for the assault troopers. The troopers, well aware of the fact that they would be dead if they got within melee range, instead chose to provide a firing line so that the armoured vehicles could be landed. Then they would begin their advance. Bombers rained high-powered explosives and incendiary decided across the enemy forces, causing chaos in their ranks. This, combined with periodic orbital strikes from the lighter ships in the fleet, added to the disarray that a normal battle would bring with it.

Titus shook his head, his vision coming back into focus as the building that had collapsed around him crumbled further apart. He pushed himself to his feet then, as several TIE fighters strafed over head. He rubbed his forehead as more sounds came flooding in from across the battlefield. Snarling, he used the Force to propel himself up atop the crumbling ruins, the Praetorian Guard were gathered a few feet away fighting against First Order Stormtroopers. Shifting his gaze across the crumbling city that was being bombed by the new breed of TIE Bombers, he caught sight of the smoke rising in the distance.
The shields had fallen, and the base was overrun. At the rate things were going, the First Order would soon control the city. He activated his lightshield, blocking several incoming blaster bolts. The time for delaying the invasion was coming to an end. They had to make their escape now. Jumping down, he landed behind the group of Saurian Jedi, all of whom turned an ear toward him Time's up, pull back! The order quickly traveled through the remaining defence forces as Titus and his Guards fought their way back through the city to the spaceport. The building had remained intact for the most part, with the Imperial forces keeping their focus on leveling other parts of the city. Boarding the Saurian Deliverance, they quickly got to work powering up the engines and blasting off out of the hangar. The shields coming on line as several laser bolts impacted upon the field of energy. The ships guns coming on line a few moments later, filling the air with return fire as the engines pushed the ship clear of the city.
By now, the rest of the civilians should be loaded onto the pair of Nebula's and would only be waiting for the arrival of the remaining defence forces that were fleeing that way

The troopers storming through the city noticed as the Saurians began retreating, taking the advantage to begin advancing with their armoured vehicles. Due to the support of this armor, they were able to punch through enemy defenses rather easy, and with the fall of the military base and the crucial destruction of the AA guns housed there, two Acclamator-Class Landing ships had descended to the surface, releasing several Legion’s worth of troops, causing further disarray on the ground. In space, another Star Destroyer came out of hyperspace to join the three already raking the remaining enemy forces with fire and providing tactical support and logistical organisation.
On the ground, a trooper noticed the fleeing transports, whose cannons began firing upon fighters that were clustered around it. He immediately got onto comms with the Star Destroyers in orbit.
Sir. A number of small transports are attempting to flee the city. Our best guess is that they are escaping military personnel.
Garrick, who was standing by the comms station, heard this transmission and responded appropriately.
“Thank you, colonel.”
He turned to face the forward windows of the ship.
“I want all ships moved into blockade positions, and interdictors on our location immediately! We need to buy the Interdictors time. Tell the ground forces and fighters to concentrate all fire on the escaping transports. With luck, we will be able to cripple them before they are able to get off the ground.”
The orders were relayed, as the Star Destroyers assumes positions to intercept any incoming ships and trap their escape. Two Interdictor cruisers were dispatched from the nearest system, but they would take a little while to arrive. On the ground however, the artillery cannons mounted on the walkers were within range of the Star Destroyers, and the Demolisher bombers lined up to begin strafing the transports. SPHA lasers, AT walker blasts, and heavy laser fire began to rake the skies with the express intent of crippling them. Furthermore, the stormtroopers, who were hesitantly attacking, now began ruthlessly advancing backed by their AT-RT scout walkers, attempting to flush out any Saurians not on currently in the sky. A chain of fighters began pursuing the fleeing vessels. Over the city loudspeakers, the firm voice of Garrick Needa could be heard booming, broadcasting a message to any Saurians in the city. In addition, the frequency was broadcast to the cockpits of the Saurian vessels.
Attention, members of the Chistoria Defense Force. If you lay down your arms now and surrender, you will not be harmed. The First Order will peacefully assimilate you into them. If you continue to resist, however, we will have no choice to pursue and destroy you in detail.

Titus managed to navigate the Saurian Deliverance through the rain of fire, the hardest hits just grazing against the edge of the shields, while the rest were absorbed. The other transports, however, were not so lucky. Several were instantly consumed in explosions, while others were crippled and forced to land. The forces and people in the city still surrendered to the encroaching Stromtroopers, aided by the message that was being broadcast by the First Order commander.
Maximus did not divert his course though, as he pushed the transports engines to their limits. The ship rising higher in the atmosphere to provide less resistance as it drew closer and closer to the pair of Nebula Star Destroyers on the other side of the planet.
He pulled back the speed, slowing the ship down as it pulled into the hangar bay of the Argento. As soon as the langing gear locked in, the pair of ships increased thrust to their engines. Pulling up and clear of the atmosphere as the hyperdrives warmed up. Titus opened a line of comms back to the First Order Your tyranny will collapse in on itself one day soon... And I intend to be there to help it along... By now, the pair of Nebula's would have very clearly showed up on the enemy scanners. But just as quickly as they appeared, their signatures were gone. The pair of ships disappearing into hyperspace

*A matte-black Lucrehulk Christened the Night Hoard Drifts in space far away from any system, inhabited or otherwise. As such, the vessel belonging to the Bloodrage Pirates was far outside of any sensor range currently used by anyone in the 'verse. the only signs of life or activity were the regular waves of Vulture-droid fighters that ran patrols around the ship, never straying far from the ship, but always scanning for anyone who could be attempting a stealthy approach on the Night Hoard. Not that anything capable of sneaking up on her would be powerful enough to do anything to the mighty Lucrehulk, but it could be a scout ship attempting to collect coordinate data, and so they kept up their patrols to ensure their secrecy.*

The Cutlass emerged from hyperspace in the designated spot several thousand kilometres off the bow of the Night Hoard. The clouds of Vulture droids began to home in on the new arrival but as soon as the transponder signal reached them they waived off their attack runs. It had taken a lot of planning and more than a few executions to find this spot and chart a hyper-route to it. Ultimately it was worth it so the Pirates could hide the majority of their prizes. After years of raiding the Lucrehulk held a great many treasures and the Cutlass flew past only a handful of the stolen ships that found themselves in the Night Hoard's hanger. The B1 droids were busy working on and maintaining the ships, some being upgraded, some repaired, some being booby trapped but all of them being used for a purpose.
The Cutlass eventually set down to re-arm and re-fuel. Something that was often overlooked but among the most prized of the pirate's treasures was a vast fuel and munitions cache held aboard the Lucrehulk. Arkan's arrival was not just to stock up, his latest raid had been a great success and his crew began to unload their loot. Many boxes and crates were being unloaded by the crew of the Cutlass along with a chain-gang of prisoners. They were now slaves to the Pirates to either be used or sold for profit. The slaves were being led away to another part of the hangerbay that had been converted into a large, multi-level slave pen that could be vented into deep space. It was for this reason that Arkan had really made his trip, slaves.
The Capital slowly walked off the loading ramp, coldly observing the offloading of his treasures from behind his skull mask. Once he had made it to the end of the ramp he began to make his way to the bridge and he pulled out his commlink.
"Starbuck, we need to talk!"

The Capital slowly walked off the loading ramp, coldly observing the offloading of his treasures from behind his skull mask. Once he had made it to the end of the ramp he began to make his way to the bridge and he pulled out his commlink.
"Starbuck, we need to talk!" Having been alerted to the presence of the ship when it dropped out of hyperspace by the vulture droids, Malcolm had verified the transponder signal and then began to ensure that pit crews would be on standby for the arrival of The Cutlass. He was in a turbolift on his way to meet Arkan when his comlink chirped. "Starbuck, we need to talk!" He quickly tapped the comlink and responded, "Already on my way."

Arkan met Malcolm Starbuck at the turbolift, entirely coincidentally. The doors opened and the Pirate Captain stepped inside, making sure the lift would return to the bridge.
"There has been an unwelcome development with one of our customers. I need to know exactly how many slaves we have on board and roughly what they're valued at."
Arkan didn't mention it directly but there had been more than a few announcements on the Holonet about it, The First Order was in the process of outlawing slavery. Arkan had just found out they had cancelled all their shipments and they were planning on freeing the slaves they already had, albeit at a slow pace. This was a big problem, The First Order were their biggest customer when it came to slaves and slaves were the Pirates biggest business. Without this sizable revenue stream the pirate fleet would not be able to operate for long. Capital ships were not free to operate and the Pirates had, quite possibly, the largest private military in the galaxy.
"After that's done, I need you to reach out to any contacts you may have that are in the market for slaves, lots of them!"

Malcolm keyed the bridge and instructed one of his men to run the numbers on the current stock of merchandise and send them to his datapad. Once the numbers had been ran, his datapad chimed and Malcolm passed the datapad to Arkan. He then instructed his men to start reaching out to their buyers to probe for possible shipments."Should I begin loading the merchandise into freighters for departure? Or would you like to wait until we have the buyers lined up first?"

The turbolift opened onto the bridge of the pirate freighter and Arkan strode briskly across to a free chair. He sat down, although slumped might have been a better adjective, he was clearly not in a good mood. The datapad made for some quite good reading though, despite the latest customer development. There were enough slaves on board for, what would have been, the First Order's next four orders. Unfortunately they never paid in advance, that would have made this whole situation a lot more palatable. Arkan's helmeted head looked up from the datapad for a second to address Starbuck's last query.
"No, no, we don't want to get them all excited. There's no way we're going to find a buyer for even half of this amount on such short notice. Only load up what we've got confirmed orders for, you've got to run this ship at a level of efficiency you've not had to in the past. At least until I can sort out this mess."
The pirate spun around on the chair to face the computer terminal inset into the wall of the bridge. He placed the datapad on the side of the console and began to bring up some star-charts for the Tingel arm. He had heard a few things about activity in that area that might benefit the pirates.

Malcolm's commlink chirped. But he had to finish bellowing at one of the workers in the hanger for his damaging treatment of a few of the slaves. They had to be in good condition in order to be sold for fierfeks sake! They didn't normally keep merchandise on-board this long. He needed to find a way to get rid of some of them. Malcolm finished by bellowing into the mans face that if he ever did it again he would be given to the wookiees to play with, and that when the wookies finished with him, his body would be given to the Barabels to eat. Finally he brought out his Commlink and read the message that was waiting for him there. One of Malcolm's eyebrows raised. Speaking of wookiees... he punched in Arkan's code.
"Captain Arkan, you'll never guess who appears to be in the market for Wookiees. Also, do we have any contacts who could get their hands on a Rancor or two?"
Malcolm's grin was evident on his face as he headed towards the bridge to speak with Arkan in person.
