A piece of poodoo freighter drops out of hyperspace, and it slowly makes its way toward Juvex. Broadcasting on all frequencies that it is unarmed and unshielded - a typical transport - it slowly approaches Juvex space.
::Juvex control, this is freighter 183-fgt-1bc...contacting you about transport contract 17289-D? The eh, special transport mission.::

Warm and friendly female voice is heard on the other side. This could be a Comm-Sex hotline as far as her voice and toning went.
Welcome to Juvex Freighter One Eight Three dash Foxtrot Golf Tango Dash One Bravo Charlie. Your reference number checks out. You can now download your landing corridor nav-map and you are granted a one day visa to Juvex City. Visas can be prolonged in any spaceport visa sales offices. A Juvex Import Export representative will be meeting you on site.

*The starship shot out of hyperspace and quickly settled into orbit. The old Imperial Infiltrator probably looked ancient to most people. Nysste sat in the cockpit as she began to render the ship's engines to halt. She hit up a few levers and toggle down a few dials as she simultaneously activated her ship comlink to hook up with the planet's primary intercept channel. Once she got settled with the ship adjustments she began to speak.*
-This is Imperial Infiltrator Mark III. I'm hear for a possible buisness deal. Got a couple of slaves locked in my cargo for extra measure, if need be. I'll keep this line open while I tinker with a few things.-
*As she said, Nysste left the channel open. She got up from the pilot's chair and took a quick inventory of her 'special' cargo. From what she could get her hands on, she was holding two gamoreans and a force-sensitive human. A very annoying human.*
FS Slave: "You're never going to get away with this, you're slime, just like the rest of the evil in this galaxy!"
*A boy, about 13 years of age. And he just wouldn't shut up.*
Nysste: "I won't get away with this, I won't get away with that... kid, if you could shut up for one damn minute, maybe I'll start regretting the murder of your family. But obviously that's not going to happen, since you can't do anything. Weakling"
*She only smirked at the boy and moved her hand forward, pushing the boy farther back into the cage she set-up earlier. The gamoreans watched in horror as she then lifted the boy by his throat through the force and the slammed him into the ground.*
Nysste: "Perhaps now I will actually hear if there's a response from these people."

Orbital command relayed the channel information to Juvex Import Exports dispatch, whom was just about to answer when she heard the comotion on the other end of the comms channel. Curiously she listened before asnwering, noting what was going on. It was a Banshee in training and they very strict rules about their work.
-Juvex I/E Dispatch- Welcome to Juvex Imperial Infiltrator Mark III. We are arranging a meeting with a Sentient Resources to meet you from Juvex Import Export, your friendly transportation company. Please Land in the Juvex Import Export hangar in Juvex City, and please hold weapons uncharged. There will be someone waiting for you there.

A brief message of acceptance and welcome is sent back to the Starweird, welcoming them to the planet and introducing them to the legit, respected and well liked company of Juvex Import Exports, where they are briefly given landing clearance.

The Yellow Skull, an Ardent-class Fast Frigate exited hyperspace in orbit around Juvex. The shields of the ship were set to 80% and weapons power was set to 50%, standard procedure for the pirates. Despite this fairly aggressive stance the ship made no aggressive move, instead a transmission was sent to the planet.
Juvex control, this is the Yellow Skull of the Bloodrage Pirates, requesting permission to send a shuttle to the planets surface.

Yellow skull of the Bloodrage Pirates, welcome back. You have permission to land and a represantative will be awaiting you in Juvex City Spaceport, Hangar sixty B. May your stay be profitable and compfterble.
The fleet present made note of the Ardent and put one of their own Ardents on close proximity, just in case.

*Forlorn Hope, a VT-49 Decimator, dropped from hyperspace. Inside, Ral sat at the controls. He yawned, having just woken up. Ral was not one to trust the important parts of piloting to a droid. The ship hung just out of orbit for a bit while Ral moved from the controls to get ready for a meeting he had with someone about a transport job.
He grabbed his blaster and spun it around on his index finger, and with a display seen by none but himself tossed it from one hand to another, all while still spinning it on his finger. He repated that process behind his back and then slammed the blaster into the holster on his leg with a silent grin. He moved back to the controls and sat down, letting his hands dance over them. He transmitted the code he was given as he followed one of the freight lanes down to the planet.*

The Captain sent no reply to the confirmation message, instead he gave the go ahead for the hanger doors to open. The D-5 Mantis Patrol Craft that was waiting inside launched and began its descent towards the planet. Not many would consider this ship a "shuttle" as it was more of an assault/anti-starfighter attack vessel. Pirates liked to be prepared for violence!

With all the deadly grace of a deep space predator, the Vanguard smoothly exited hyperspace, engines blazing and batteries charged. 1.6 Kilometres of of Durasteel, Transparisteel, a hangar full of TIE fighters, a mobile Imperial garrison, a smattering of officers, a Sith Lord and a Captain was what made this self-sustained space-fairing ship."Hail the orbital command and inform them that we are here on business."Captain d'escadre Mardotte Sankt Cyr nodded to Brigadier Lefebvre, who had returned from his stint on Sullust to once again act as his envoy to the surface. His personnel for the operation was detailed in his briefing. All good and solid men, except that he would be accepting tactical commands from Lord Tysabaar, who was detailed as commander for this operation.Three shuttles were prepared and loaded in the hangar bay. Once the last of their crew was loaded, they departed for the planet below. It was a standard Imperial tĂȘte de pont or bridgehead landing procedure. Clearly, the Imperials were throwing their weight around and taking no chances. Someday, when Mardotte stopped drilling and started doing, would the galaxy appreciate that was appeared to be so routine was the product of years of practice?

Tysabaar exited his room as the Vanguard entered Juvex's orbit. Already being informed about what was to happen, he made his way from his cabin towards the hanger bay. The area was busy as the crew prepared for the departure of the three shuttles. Ignoring the marines as they made their way towards their assigned shuttle, Tysabaar boarded the first and seated himself. It did not take long for the shuttle to take off and soon the party was on their way to the planetary surface.

Captain Kobayashi was pacing the bridge of the Yellow Skull, watching as the frigate the planet's defence force had set to escort them follows behind them. Whenever the Skull made a course adjustment, no matter how slight, the escort would change course with them. They also matched their posture identically, the Skull powered up shields to a certain level or fully powered up weapons, the escort matched. The Captain was getting bored of this game, it had no winner and had lost it's charm very quickly. However, a new game was about to begin.
An Imperial Star Destroyer dropped out of hyperspace, bearing the IFF signature identifying it as the Vanguard. It made a quick transmission to the planet before launching landing craft. Such speed was never a good thing, not in Kobayashi's experience but the Captain had not noticed this turn of events yet, he was looking over the duty roster of his bridge officers. He liked to run his ship in a military fashion with everyone under his command given a rank and responsibilities in a much more formal manner to the other pirate vessels. It was one of these bridge officers, a lieutenant currently assigned to the sensor department, that noticed the swift Imperial operation. He quickly transferred the data to the holo-table in the planning area near the rear of the bridge before bringing to the attention of the Captain.
"Sir, an Imperial Star Destroyer has just entered the system and deployed three landing craft. I've transferred the sensor data to the planning table."
"Thank you lieutenant, is it a live feed?"
"Yes Sir. They sent a transmission to the planet before deploying the landing craft and the defence fleet has made no move to intercept."
"Interesting, I wonder what the Empire is doing on Juvex. Comms, send a message to Vaulkhar and his team on the surface to watch out for Imperial troops on the surface. Sensors, get me a view of the planet and where those landing craft touch down."
The holo-table became divided in two, one with orbital sensor data centring on the Star Destroyer and the other a map of the surface showing the landing craft touching down outside the capital city. Kobayashi pondered for a while, he could not figure out why they were here. This ship was too small for a full scale invasion force so maybe they were here for some sort of negotiations and wanted to make an impression. Only time will tell.
The Captain walked from the planning table over to the tactical station. There he directed the officer to raise shields to one hundred percent and keep weapons powered at fifty percent just in case. He then strolled over to the helm and directed the course of the ship to be changed. Their current course would have brought them within twenty kilometres of the Vanguard, he didn't like this. The course change meant the ship would now remain at least one hundred and fifty kilometres away even at its closes passing. The Ardent-class frigate was a quarter of the size of the Imperial Star Destroyer and would not fair well if shooting started. Kobayashi then sent a long range transmission to Captain Salyer, he needed to know of this development and Kobayashi wanted to know if there were any ships able to reinforce him in an emergency.

The defence fleet did not move nor communicate with the new additon to the orbital collection of ships. There was a very simple reason for this. They were still inbound from Kessel. But, the planet was not without defences (despite what the planetary guide might say, thanks to a Whill). Two of the three planetary ion cannons aimed in the large warship. The third one was closer to the Crucible and was mostly dormant and out of range for most things that came to Juvex City.

Aboard the Vanguard, Bridge
Mardotte stood the navigation section, discussing charts and courses with the ensigns. It was simultaneously a form of relaxation, strategic planning and a chance for the crew to operate autonomously. If he never relented from being the one issuing the commands, when the day came that he was not there, the crew would find thinking an impossible task. As it was, most struggled to make coherent sense of information within the context.
"Sir! We have been actively scanned by an Ardent-class freighter, range 84 kilometers and widening."
The reported the helmsman, a little too enthusiastically for Mardotte's likes. He held the silence. Silence was magical. It was the space where people could think.
"Sir? Orders?"
"If they had a hostile intent, we would have been breathing vacuum by the time you had figured them out."
Mardotte whispered, clearly displeased with his helmsman. He was the first response to any threat. He was supposed to have scrambled the TIE fighters and had the gunners to stations by the time he had reported it to Mardotte. Sub-consciously, he must have known there was no threat. The Captain was more displeased that he had created undue confusion where there need be none.
"Give me a sensor probe of the ship."
The Ardent-class filled the screen, detailing its shields, weapons and identifying marks as well as the immediate space around it.
"Notice that the ship has an escort of its own, a similar class, keeping a similar course and bearing. They're guarding or protecting them. It's not from Juvex. Also, its IFF frequencies are false. That ship was supposedly sold a mining conglomerate. Instead, its here, over Juvex. It's stolen, it's armed and it's running from us. What do you think it is?"
There was another healthy thinking silence.
"Pirate. With enough common sense to know that we outgun, outrange and can, given sufficient motivation, chase them faster than they can run. Tag their ship and no further action."
And so the Vanguard kept its geosynchronous orbit over Juvex, paying the pirates in orbit and ion cannons no mind. It was an Imperial fucking Destroyer, after all.

Vanguard, Senior Officers Anteroom
Several ranking Imperial officers lounged in the cabin, watching the crystal clear image of an A5 troop transport with a picnic spread in front of it. Steak, wasn't it? One of the officers turned through his briefing pages until he came on one that highlighted Atia's projected logistical range, in relation with their area of operation. The destroyer had enough supplies to maintain several months of operations, but it would take several weeks to steam back to port, refit and resupply, before resuming. Being able to move the goods to the ship and perform the refitting there would give them mobility and endurance out in the field. The Vanguard was, after all, only one ship. But one ship had tipped the balance before. This was how to do it.
". . .holy planet. . ."
Mardotte looked at Juvex from the viewport and thought that was an odd turn of phrase for this planet. But that was exactly why he had chose it. No-one would think anything of a known slaver planet shipping war materiel. A perfect front.
Juvex Import/Export was playing its game as well as he had expected it to. Although, he was more surprised by Tysabaar. The Sith Lord had demonstrated a remarkable ability to manouver through the pitfalls and traps of negociation like a duelist.
"Send the pre-arranged signal to Sullust and Alzoc III. Gentlemen, you have the brief. Make it quick, I have a schedule to keep."

Vanguard, hangar bays
With a whine and a hiss, the shuttle hit the deck and the ramp was extending. The time for pomp and ceremony had passed and now the Imperial Warmachine smoothly changed gears into a functional, purpose-orientated cohesive body. Augereau was waiting at the foot of the ramp for Lord Tysabaar to exit and so that he could escort the Sith to the anteroom where the Captain and the other officers were. Augereau would doubtless provide the summary of the contract as they walked.
Mardotte waited, leafing through a few sparsely written pages, detailing the transfer of Imperial operations on Sullust, via their Sorosuub proxy and mining interests on Alzoc III to Juvex Import/Export, in the custody of Mr Bateman, in exchange for war materiel and personnel for an indefinite period of time.
He could feel the weight that the lack of supplies imposed on his fleet's operations. The restrictions of operating without an Empire behind him was like dragging a ball and chain behind him. Certainly, he was not about to go, hat in hand, to one of the other fiefdoms that had sprouted throughout the galaxy. Given enough planets and support, he could do it himself.
