Lord Znalost's Secret Underground Laboratory, Sub-level Three, Operating Room.
During the ritual the Sith'ari had began to float above the operating table, letting out a few pain induced screams as the ritual continued. Items all around the room had started to break and float around the Sith'ari. Both Doctors Giles and Vellek who are not force sensitive could feel the darkside of the force flowing rapidly around the room, to them it felt as though the gravity in the room had increased. Once Znalost was done and the Sith'ari fall back onto the table, Giles and Vellek could see a bit of smoke rising into the air off of the Sith'ari's body. Lord Znalost stumbled a bit as he walked closer to the table to lend the Sith'ari a hand off of the table.
"How do you feel, my lord?"

Underground Laboratory, Sub-level Three. Banol's Maze, Iridonia.
Rendered unconscious as he landed back on the table, the Sith'ari laid there for a few moments. His mind, however, was racing. The Elders within were aggravated. But aside from the display done during the ritual, they did not use the Zabrak's body to show it. As everything resumed to normal, the Elders' essences within began to calm and retreat back into the deepest recesses of the Sith's mind. Eyes snapping open and sitting bolt upright, Viox looked around, taking in his surroundings. Well lit room. Two doctors looking rather unnerved, and then Znalost approaching. Rubbing his temples and groaning as he felt the pain in his chest, he pushed Znalost's hand away. Swinging his feet over to the edge of the table, the Zabrak gingerly ran his fingers of his right hand over the still warm crystal now embedded into his chest. It was glowing dimly. Motioning for Znalost to step back, the Zabrak pushed off the table and stood for a few moments. His legs held. He felt better than he had in several months. There was no constant nagging within the back of his mind. It was quiet. Which was odd, considering that since he had done the ritual, there had been nothing but constant whispers within his skull, growing louder and clearer every time he delved into the Force. Now, however, there was silence. Looking over to Znalost, the question the young human had posed to him, finally registered.
"I feel...at ease...the incessant murmurs of the Elders has faded, for the time being..."
The Sith trailed off and continued to ensure he was physically fine after such an ordeal. Pulling up his tunic, the Zabrak slid his arms into the sleeves, but left it open at the chest, as it was still incredibly tender.

Lord Znalost's Secret Underground Laboratory, Sub-level Three, Operating Room.
Lord Znalost waited until the Sith'ari had the top half of his tunic back on before informing him of the next step of the procedure, which was a test that would check all of the Sith'ari's vitals and ensure that the crystal was stable.
"My Lord, if you wouldn't mind there is just one more step left. Which is but a simple test to see if the crystal is stable and to check your vitals."
Znalost waited for the Sith'ari to responde and as soon as he does, Znalost would motion for Doctors Giles and Vellek to connect sensors to the Sith'ari's chest, his forehead and on his arms.

Arching an eyebrow, the Sith'ari nodded and sat back down on the table. His chest was throbbing, the burned and blistered skin around the crystal burning and pulsing in pain, to the rhythm of his beating hearts. Aside from the discomfort of that, he felt fine. However, he knew better than to question medical checks, especially after what had just been accomplished. Hopefully everything would read normal so he could get back to work...

Lord Znalost's Secret Underground Laboratory, Sub-level Three, Operating Room.
Everything appears to be in order, at least according to the sensors.
Doctor Giles went back to looking at the datapad that he had in his hands and moved back allowing Doctor Vellek to speak up. Doctor Vellek without looking up from his datapad began to speak.
I can confirm that the data is correct.
Both Doctors began to remove the sensors from the Sith'ari's body, while Lord Znalost began to speak.
"While you are here my Lord, do you wish to inspected the lab or review some of our projects?"

Wincing slightly as the adhesive pads were pulled off his chest, the Zabrak shrugged indifferently.
"Bring me up to speed. Which projects did you have ongoing here?"
Standing back up and forcing himself to not run his fingers over the crystal now embedded in his chest, he simply clasped his hands behind his back. Slowly. Abrupt movements that caused his chest muscles to move in any direction was still rather painful.

Lord Znalost's Secret Underground Laboratory, Sub-level Three, Operating Room.Lord Znalost wondered if he should inform the Sith'ari of project Lazarus or not as he listened to the Sith'ari speak. "We have a project that is still in the development phase, and one project that is nearing completion. Project Legacy, which involves the process of Mind uploading. Which is the process of copying or transferring a conscious mind from a brain to a computer, Doctor Giles and my cybernetics expert, Ashaa, have constructed a prototype device that copies the conscious mind and places it in a computer system. Lord Znalost pauses for a brief moment to allow what he said to sink in, before continuing on. While this is good news, we are however experiencing an unforeseen side effect of the process. Which is that the copies can not cope with the fact that they are copies and end up committing suicide, or at least a form of suicide. Doctor Giles and Ashaa are currently working on finding a fix for this. We have not tried to transfer a conscious mind to a computer yet, not without a way to transfer the mind back to the original body." Lord Znalost motioned for Doctor Giles to que up their findings on his datapad and hand it over to the Sith'ari. While waiting for the Sith'ari to review the findings of Project Legacy, he prepared himself to reveal the details of project Lazarus to the Sith'ari.

Accepting the datapad as he listened, the Zabrak reviewed the logistics of the project. Expenses were coming in under what had been appropriated for Znalost's Science Division. Profits were negligible, but that was to be expected until a project of this caliber saw results. Testing was fairly straight forward, and as Znalost had mentioned, they had encountered a snag. All in all, this project held merit, especially if he himself was to succumb to the eventual effects of Force Walking. Hopefully the crystal now residing in his chest would help keep the side effects at bay longer. He couldn't afford to lose control now. Not with everything that was happening. Handing the datapad back to Znalost, he spoke.
"Continue with this project. It may be of some use to me in the future."
The Sith then eyed up Znalost, noting he hadn't mentioned the other project he currently had on the go.
"And the other project...?"
The Zabrak was unsure of whether or not he wanted to know what the project entailed, given his past experiences with his former apprentice, Cain Dracus. Utilizing Sith Alchemy and the Force to subvert science and build on a monstrosity, Cain had lost perspective in his project, putting it above all else. Which had been his undoing. Hopefully Znalost was not going to fall into the same traps with this line of work. Only time would tell, however.

Lord Znalost's Secret Underground Laboratory, Sub-level Three, Operating Room.
"The other project is known as Project Lazarus, it involves creating the perfect soldier. As you may know during our raid against the Jedi, I traveled to Korriban and followed research I had done on myths and legends on the sith tombs. My research lead me to a tomb where I discovered a chamber beneath the tomb itself, inside this chamber where 'tomb guardians'. You may know them by another name; Korriban Zombies, I fought my way out and managed to capture one. I brought the specimen here and began to dissect it, with the help of Doctor Vellek and other we had dissected the specimen we learned how to replicate the process of turning people into Zombies. Lord Znalost paused for a brief moment to allow for what he had just said to sink in. The Zombies are not so easily controlled, but with the help of Ashaa we created a serum that allowed us to cybernetically enhance them, thus turning them into a more controllable Techno Zombies. However we had the realization that the Techno Zombies could be destroyed just easily as the 'Wortan Zombies', so Ashaa designed and created combat armor for them. Lord Znalost paused again to point at the troopers that escorted the Sith'ari in, the he proceeded to continue to explain the project. The cybernetic enhancements allow us to control them with ease, the combat armor allows them to function as troopers. We of course have a safety protocol in place should they ever get out of control. A small explosive that is inserted at the base of their necks will explored should they get out of control. I used our 'crusade' on Ziost as a sort of combat test for them, Doctor Vellek was monitoring the soldiers the entire time as he gathered the data from their armor and ensured they stayed on course."
Lord Znalost motioned for Doctor Vellek to hand the Sith'ari the datapad with details of Project Lazarus already queued up. Znalost waited patiently all the while thinking about how the Sith'ari would reacted to the information that was just revealed. He knew that it was a lot to process, but he hoped that the Sith'ari would see the benefit of having undead soldiers.

The Zabrak snorted in disgust at the mention of creating a perfect soldier. That was a steep and slippery slope, to be sure. It had consumed Cain. Why was overcoming death considered an acceptable way of creating a perfect soldier? Regardless of his personal views on it, clearly Znalost was much more capable than Cain in creating a proper soldier. Ziost had been successful. Surprisingly so. But, he didn't want anymore zombies, undead, infected, whatever, on Iridonia. Anything that could threaten the stability of the Blackguard was not valuable to him. But, Znalost's experiments and projects did contain merit. So until proven otherwise, he wasn't going to shutdown the project.
"Normally, I would consider shutting you down for experimenting in such a way. Previous...experiments...in this general area seemed to be too wild and unpredictable. However, you seem to have a grasp on the situation, and there have been no incidents. So, rather than shutting you down, I would like to relocate your operations. Ziost will become your new home. As Overseer of the planet, you are free to do as you please...just know that you alone will face sole responsibility if your...experiments...become a liability. Have I made myself perfectly clean, Znalost?"
Trusting in Znalost and his abilities was really the only thing preventing the Sith'ari from wiping this lab off the map. This far, Znalost hadn't jeopardized anything in terms of the security of the Blackguard or the health and well being of the Sith'ari himself, so that was his saving grace. Relocation to Ziost was the only logical choice. It was far enough away from any major Blackguard territories and it did have the potential to disrupt other factions if it got out of hand. A win-win to him. Though this wasn't a choice. It was a thinly veiled order. Znalost would either relocate or lose his work here.

Lord Znalost's Secret Underground Laboratory, Sub-level Three, Operating Room.
"Yes, Of course my lord."
Lord Znalost smiled underneath his cybernetic mask, he wanted to have his lab on Ziost. He also knew that experimenting with the undead was a risky move for he had read reports on the Sith'ari's former apprentice Cain Dracus, which is why Znalost had the idea of the safety protocol for his perfect soldiers. Znalost motioned for Thomas Boles to escort the Sith'ari back to Wortan. He and the rest of his research team had to start getting things ready to move to their new lab, the Sith Citadel on Ziost. Once there and the labs were all setup, Znalost would place a request for the construction of his personal fleet.

Undisclosed Location - Banol's Maze, Wortan. (Before Vallius' return to the throne room and the eruption of civil war)
The ruins of Wortan hid Banol's Maze. Formerly part of the maze had housed Lord Znalost's secret laboratory, though that had since been stripped and abandoned upon Znalost's assignment to Ziost. The rest of the maze, however, was unoccupied, save for a section that had been refitted into a personal prison that held special prisoners of the Blackguard, or the Sith'ari personally. Currently, the facility was empty, save for one person. A prisoner of sorts, brought all the way back from Anzat. And standing before her cell, was the Sith'ari himself.
"You decided to surrender only after I managed to free myself...I should strike you down now, simply on principle. And yet, for reasons unknown to me, my hand is stayed. Why is that?"
He asked the female Anzati, chained to the floor in the dank, dark cell before him. Nothing about this place was even remotely high tech. Archaic, ancient and seemingly medieval, this place was a deep dark secret. A place where the Sith'ari could gather information, torture and maim anyone he saw fit. And if the Anzati wasn't careful, she would find herself on the receiving end of his torture implements...

Being chained to a cold and damp duracrete floor, despite how fun that had the potential to be, was not nearly as enjoyable at I had been led to believe. Under different circumstances, I might have taken the time to enjoy the pressure of the wrist cuffs and the subtle tug of the chain links as I moved. Right now, however, the menacing figure of the Zabrak Sith'ari was a bit too distracting. As he finished posing his question, I smirked. "You can't resist my charm. Your little empire is in trouble. Your followers see you as...insane. Your rule stagnates. And very soon, all that you have worked so very hard for, will come to an end." I slowly but confidently walked over to the edge of the cell, right by the bars that separated the two of us. "I can, however, provide a solution to all your problems...if you are interested, that is." I batted my eyelashes at him and smiled coyly at him, while I waited for his response. Either he would accept my offer, or he would refuse and that would be the end of me. At this point, either one was a win for me. I'd be freed from living as his slave, or I've be suddenly elevated to a position befitting one such as I.

Lies. Deception. The seductress lies...though she may be of use... echoed the voices within his mind, almost hissing the words at him.
Smirking, the Sith'ari leaned into the bars, barely an inch away from them.
"You forget to whom you speak, Anzati..."
The smirk faded, as did all traces of amusement.
"I have foreseen what becomes of my Imperium. I have foreseen my own fate. I am not concerned with such matters...you, on the other hand, still have your uses...provided your offer lines up with what I am prepared to do, you might yet find yourself a free woman..."
The Zabrak cast her a malevolent grin, knowing full well what she was about to propose. Despite that, he was actually prepared to cooperate with her. After all, things were...unstable at best, all across the Imperium. Malvus had been increasingly distant and absent from his duties, and kept frequenting Korriban and the Sith Worlds, which could only mean he was preparing to separate from the Imperium. And while his son was capable, his unease the last time they spoke was indicative of his growing ambition and his diminishing patience. Soon he would make his move. Only those whose loyalty and commitment to the Imperium and the Sith'ari was unwavering could be trusted. Znalost, the Starkillers and a handful of others. Too few to execute his grand designs. But just enough to sow the seeds of chaos and give him the opportunity needed to set the final stages of the Imperium into motion. While this had been planned out for some time, his A.I compatriot had assured him that there was only a 3.82% chance that this would proceed as he had wanted. And only because there were too many variables to predict an accurate enough outcome. Regardless, with his fraying mind, the now rapidly deteriorating physical body and the fracturing of the Imperium, it was time to push forward despite the odds not being in his favor. After all, he was the Sith'ari, leader of the Blackguard Imperium, commanding legions upon legions of soldiers, ships and Sith. He didn't need the odds to be in his favor. All he needed was the dark side...

The Zabrak had seen his own demise? And the fate of the Imperium he had strove so hard to build? He truly was a gifted individual, even if he was a bit frayed around the edges. I could work with that. It would take some patience and creativeness to gain the advantages that I sought, but I believed it could be done. And rather than beat around the bush, I decided to just come straight out and say what I wanted. "Make me your Empress, and together we can carry out whatever you seek to accomplish with the Imperium, regardless of whether it succeeds or not." There. I had come out and said it. Adding in a small, yet seductive smile, I waited to see if the Zabrak was in agreement with this long shot idea or not. If he was, well, things would get infinitely better from here on out. If he wasn't...well I suspected that my own lifespan had been significantly reduced...hopefully that wasn't the case, however.

Shadows. Illusions The woman can be another instrument for the coming darkness...
The words echoed within his mind, causing him to grin, despite himself. He could always use another "tool" in his arsenal. And a skilled warrior and hunter such as this Anzati could provide the exact figurehead he needed to either continue the Imperium or smash it apart against his foes. Either way, he needed someone to take the spotlight off of what he was doing and focus on what they were doing, which would give him the freedom needed to carry out his plans, while the Imperium continued forward as if nothing was wrong. Bringing up his right hand, he gave it a gentle wave, undoing her restraints and opening the cell door. As the door slid open, he extended his right hand outwards, palm facing up, offering his hand to her.
"Then my Empress you shall be...come, there is much work to be done..."

Wasting no time, I reached up with my left hand, placing it in the gloved palm of the Zabrak's right. A smile crossed my lips and he pulled me to my feet. Without delay, he lead the way out of the prison and up towards the surface. The harsh sunlight of Iridonia greeted my eyes, as did the harsh, arid air. Quite the difference from the damp, dank prison cell I had just been held captive in for who knows how long. But, I couldn't complain. With my plans lining up with the Zabrak's, I couldn't really be too picky as to where I was, though it sounded as though becoming the Empress, I would be treated with the respect a title such as that afforded. At this point in time, however, I was merely along for the ride. The Sith'ari called the shots for the time being, all I could do was sit down and enjoy the ride...
