Amber followed Obadiah as he led the way out of the dining room and along the hallway, waiting briefly as he went and grabbed a couple items from his room, before leading the way down stairs to the first level. She extended out her left arm as Obadiah helped her put on the Duel Blade She was somewhat surprised at how light the thing was, whilst noting the slight variation in colour scheme between her Duel Blade and Obadiah's, something she attributed to the fact that he did design these things She then accepted the deck that Obadiah handed to her and started shuffling the deck of cards as Obadiah walked several steps away from her. She finished shuffling the deck when Obadiah turned towards her and challenged her to a Duel. She watched as he did some arm movements which corrosponded with the Duel Blad activating. Amber then did the same movements, raising her arm so the top of the Duel Blade faced Obadiah. As the arm extended, she brought her arm down to a horizontal position as the top of the blade extended out. She then slid the deck into the deck slot, before her own Duel Blade shimmered several colours as it registered her deck and her Energy Points displayed on his counter. The rooms holographic display then picked up her Duel Blade system and displayed Amber's headshot and listed her Energy Points. With that done, she looked over to Obadiah and waited to see what she had to do next =Amber Caird= So... what's next?

Zacaiah, Hikari, and Akari followed Zion down stairs and up onto the raised meeting area. Zacaiah then took a seat on one of the offered seats, whilst Hikari and Akari stood beside Zion and watched intently to see how Amber would do, marvelling a little at the Duel Blades. Zacaiah looked up at the holo displays that the rooms projectors displayed, taking vague note of how things worked.
Meanwhile she flipped open her gauntlet datapad and entered some commands that were relayed to the whitecloak fighter down in the hangar bay. She wanted the ship to be ready at any moment, just case she needed to make a very quick getaway, seeing as how she was sure the Sisters would strike the moment Zion was distracted by this duel between his two friends

Obadiah watched as Amber managed to pick up the movement quite well for a first timer, most people had to practice a couple times, but she was a quick understudy, which meant he would have to give very minimal instruction =Obadiah Traevis= Well, Let's get this game of Dueal Beasts one-oh-one underway. Each player starts with 5 cards... Obadiah then drew 5 cards from the top of his deck and placed them in his left hand, whilst keeping his attention on Amber so that she could hear him clearly =Obadiah Traevis= In a game of Duel Beasts, each player's turn is divided up into 6 phases. These are the Draw Phase, Set Phase, Summon Phase, Attack Phase, Set Phase 2, and the End Phase. The first phase, the Draw Phase, consists of the player drawing one card. Like so... I Draw! Obadiah then drew one card, holding it just off to the side of his face, giving it a quick check before placing it in his left hand with the rest of his cards =Obadiah Traevis= Now comes the Set Phase. During this Phase I am only allowed to set two kinds of cards face down: spells and traps. Spell cards are a blue colour, whilst Trap cards are more reddish colour. So let's see... Obadiah exampined his hand closely for the first time since the start of the duel. Currently he was holding a Huo Warrior, Galgarrow the Firemancer, Galgarrow's Blazing Zweihander, The Temple of Adroushan, Warrior Wall and Burning Trap. He grabbed Warrior Wall and Burning trap and placed them face down into the Spell/Trap card zones =Obadiah Traevis= I place two cards face down... The Duel Blade then shimmered and made a short sound effect before holograms of two cards were projected in front of Obadiah, floating off the ground a little, with their backs facing upwards. Obadiah always enjoyed using his Duel Blades, especially since the holograms always caught first timers by surprise a little =Obadiah Traevis= Now this, this is what I contributed to my father's game. Each card is printed with a micro chip embedded in them, which the Dueal Blade reads, before processing which card was played and how it was played, before projecting the appropriate 3D model. As you can see, my two face down cards are now being projected onto the field in the same way that I played them. Now comes the fun stage. In the Summon Phase you can activate Spells cards, set and summon Beasts, or add Equipment cards. Beast cards have a more brown colour to them, whilst Equipment cards share the same colour scheme as magic cards. Be mindful though, you can only normal summon 1 Beast per turn, under normal circumstances, but we will cross that road if we come to it. For now, let me introduce you to a thing called a Field Spell Card... Obadiah then grabbed The Temple of Adroushan as a extra card slot extended from the end of the Duel Blade. He slotted the card in, before the slot retracted. The Duel Blade shimmered and played it's sound effect again, before the inner sanctum of a Temple was projected around the field, with rivers of magma flowing down from the roof into fountain bases =Obadiah Traevis= As you can see, Field Cards alter the field of play, they are designed to give Beasts certain advantages. For example, The Temple of Adroushan, the card I just played, gives all Fire element Beasts a 400 Attack and Defence point boost. Now, let's see it in action, I summon Huo Warrior! Obadiah then draw Huo Warrior from his hand and placed it face up on his field in attack mode, moments before a holoprojection of Huo Warrior appeared just in front of the two face down cards Obadiah had played earlier. Suddenly a small box appeared, displaying Huo Warriors Attack and Defence points, before the attack points went from 1500, up to 1900. The box then faded out =Obadiah Traevis= As you can see, controlling the field has it's advantages in this game. Now, since this is the first turn of the Duel, I have to skip my Battle Phase, but during it, I would be able to have my Huo Warrior either attack your Energy Points, or attack a monster you have on the field. For now I move to my Set Phase 2, in which I could set any final Spells or Traps. But for now I'll move to my End Phase, in which all I need do is say this: I end my turn... With that, Obadiah had now finished his turn and allowed Amber to begin hers. He had started off pretty aggressively, but this was only a beginners match, and the more cards he introduced her to, the better she could play the game =Obadiah Traevis= Now that it's your turn, it's time to go through the 6 phases. But be wary though, face down cards on my field mean that I could spring a trap or spell card at any moment, so be careful...

Amber nodded in understanding, listening to his instruction as he gave it Although she thought some of it was very long winded and a little theatrical, it was an interesting game, and the holographic system did give another realm to things, making it more than just a silly little card game Amber nodded as Obadiah signalled the end of his move. She drew her starting five cards, before drawing her card as apart of her Draw Phase =Amber Caird= Well, it's my move! Amber then looked down at the cards in her hand: Great White Megalodon, Stealth Sea Serpent, Galgarrow the Watermancer, Galgarrow's Torrential Zweihander, Great Serpent Ring, and Typhoon Trap. She then placed Typhoon Trap facedown, her Duel Blade shimmered and the sound effect played, before a card appeared facedown =Amber Caird= Let's see, I set one card face down... She then pulled out Galgarrow the Watermancer and placed him on the field in attack mode, before equipping him with Galgarrow's Torrential Zweihander. The Duel Blade shimmered and played it's sound effect before Galgarrow the Watermancer appeared, holding his Torrential Zweihander. A box appeared with Galgarrow's Attack and Defence, before the Atttack points went from 1900, up to 2400 before the box faded out =Amber Caird= I call forth Galgarrow the Watermancer. But that's not all, He wont be alone for long... Amber then pulled Great Serpent Ring from her hand and activated it. The card's image then was projected onto the field. Amber then moved the Stealth Sea Serpent in her hand to the graveyard slot, the beast's image briefly appearing on the field before being consumed by the Great Serpent Ring card. Amber then grabbed her deck out, found the Jormungandr the Great Serpent card and placed it on the field in attack mode, before shuffling her deck and returning it to the deck slot on the Duel Blade. The Duel Blade the shimmered, before the holoprojection of Jormungandr the Great Serpent rushed out of the projection of Great Serpent Ring, before the card's image disappeared and Amber moved the spell card to her graveyard =Amber Caird= Jormungandr the Great Serpent, welcome to the field. Now, Galgarrow, attack his Huo Warrior!

Obadiah stood almost motionless as Amber launched her first attack. The holo projection of Galgarrow the Watermancer charged across the field, before slicing his Huo Warrior in half with the Zweihander that Amber had equipped Galgarrow with. The Energy Point counter on his Duel Blade and the one projected by the rooms projectors both decreased by 500 points, leaving Obadiah with 3500 points. He smirked over at Amber, quite pleased by her move. Sure, he could have activated his Burning Trap, but he had a much more interesting strategy in mind, provided of course he was able to draw the right cards over the next couple turns. He had faith in his deck though, and considering the amount of experience he had with the game, he was certain of his victory, even if his opponent doubt it =Obadiah Traevis= An excellent move Amber. But what else have you got?

Amber smiled as she watched her Galgarrow destroy Obadiah's Huo Warrior, the holo projections adding to the fun of the match This wasn't so hard after all, she thought to herself. She might be able to win this duel yet She then met Obadiah's gaze as he commended her on the move, before challenging her, to find out what else she was made of =Amber Caird= Well, you asked for it. Jormungandr, attack him directly! Amber waited and watched as her Jormungandr attack Obadiah directly, dealing 2600 points of damage, before she nodded to the man =Amber Caird= And with that, I end my turn...

Obadiah shielded his eyes as Jormungandr attacked him, the bright light coming at him a little too intense for his eyes. As he lowered his arm, his Energy Point meter dropped down to 900 points. It definitely proved that Amber was picking up on how to play the game quite quickly. Obadiah then placed his right hand on the top of his deck, before drawing his next card =Obadiah Traevis= I draw! Obadiah held the card off to the side of his face, managing to have drawn another Huo Warrior. He then placed the card in his left hand, before taking Galgarrow the Firemancer and Galgarrow's Blazing Zweihander. He then placed Galgarrow in attack mode and equipped the Blazing Zweihander =Obadiah Traevis= I summon the Firemancer, with his Blazing Zweihander... A box then appeared, displaying Galgarrow the Firemancer's attack and defence, before it went from 1900 to 2800, befoire the box faded out. Obadiah smiled at Amber =Obadiah Traevis= You have done quite well so far, but that all finishes here... Galgarrow, turn her Watermancer into steam! Galgarrow the Firemancer nodded, before lifting his Blazing Zweihander and rushing across the field to strike Galgarrow the Watermancer down, inflicting 400 points of damage to Amber's Energy Points. Obadiah then winked at Amber =Obadiah Traevis= With that, I end my turn...

Amber almost jumped to the side as Obadiah's Firemancer sliced her Watermancer in half, with several holo projected fireballs hitting the ground near her fest as her Energy Points dropped to 3600 It wasn't a major set back, after all she had inflicted more damage to Obadiah in her first move than he had inflicted on her. At the moment though, things weren't looking in her favour, especially since Obadiah's Firemancer had more Attack points than her Jormungandr. But first she needed to draw a card, before working out her next step Amber then drew her next card and added it to her left hand =Amber Caird= My move! Amber then looked down at the card she had drawn, The Sunken Temple of Kamino, a field spell card that increased her Beasts Attack and Defence by 300 points, whilst lowering Obadiah's Fire Beasts Attack and Defence by 300. Amber then picked up The Sunken Temple of Kamino, her Duel Blade's extra slot extending, before Amber slotted the card in. The slot retracted before the Blade shimmered and played it's sound effect, at which point the field changed from the temple of Lava, to the inner sanctum of an under water temple. Where the fire temple had streams of lava, the Sunken Temple was flooded with water, a fact the holoprojection reflected beautifully =Amber Caird= I think the tables just turned in my favour! But that isn't all! Amber then picked up her Great White Megalodon and summoned it in attack mode, before the beast appeared on her field, next to her Jormungandr =Amber Caird= Let's get some pay back! Jormungandr, attack his Firemancer and put out it's flame!

Obadiah was quite impressed as Amber managed to destroy his Temple of Adroushan and replace it with her own Sunken Temple of Kamino. He moved his field card to the graveyard, before his field card slot retracted, considering the move only a minor set back to his plan, but not a complete game changer. Amber then ordered her Jormungandr to attack =Obadiah Traevis= Not so fast, I activate my Burning Trap! One of Obadiah's face down cards then activated, before a flaming animal trap launched at Jormungandr, lowering the beasts attack by 500 points. He then braced himself a little as his Galgarrow was still destroyed, since the loss of Adroushan had removed 400 points of Extra points, before the Sunken Temple removed a further 300 points, leaving Galgarrow at 2100, compared to Jormungandr's briefly weakened 2400 attack points. Obadiah's Energy Points then dropped down to 600, the duel now looking very much like it was in Amber's favour point wise, but looks could be deceiving. After all, Obadiah still had one face down card, and right now he had the right card in his hand to activate it, he just needed Amber to declare her next attack =Obadiah Traevis= Not bad... for a rookiee...

Amber almost froze as Obadiah activated one of his face down cards, before the flaming trap attached itself to Jormungandr She wondered if her Beast would still be able to attack for a couple tense moments, before her Jormungandr finished the attack, giving her a little more hope of victory as Obadiah's Energy Points dropped to 600 She smiled as Obadiah congratulated her on doing so well. She winked at Obadiah, ready to deliver the final attack =Amber Caird= Not bad at all... Now Megalodon, attack him directly and finish this off!

=Obadiah Traevis= Just the move I expected you to make, I activate Warrior Wall! Obadiah's second facedown card then activated, revealing the Warrior Wall trap. Obadiah then sent his Huo Warrior to the graveyard, before fire balls of light erupted from Warrior Wall and materialised into 5 Warrior Wall tokens, all in defence mode. Due to their element being Fire, they all lost 300 defence points, but it didn't matter, because Obadiah would not take damage from the attack. Amber's Megalodon rushed forward and struck the middle Warrior Wall token, destroying it. Obadiah chuckled as his Energy Points were left untouched. He had to admit, Amber's moves would have caught any body else off guard, but he was a seasoned veteran of the game, meaning he could keep his cool, even under the most intense and surprising of moves that his opponent tried throwing at him =Obadiah Traevis= Not bad...

Amber snapped her fingers as Obadiah managed to activate another of his face down cards, barely just saving the last of his Energy Points in time There was a reason he was a champion at this game. She hadn't expected an easy win, or even to win at all considering he was her opponent Amber then grinned at Obadiah, all her moves used up for the turn =Amber Caird= Well I can't do anything else, so I end my turn. Amber then checked her Energy Point counter, it still sat at 3600 points, meaning she had a good 300 point advantage over Obadiah

Obadiah took note as Amber checked her Energy Points, well aware that she did indeed have the lead on him. But all that was about to change, he was certain of it. He then drew his next card, holding it just to the side of his face as he saw the game changing card that he had been hoping to draw, truly fate smiled upon him =Obadiah Traevis= My move! and I'll start by sacrificing 3 Warrior Wall tokens, to allow me to summon Ragnarok the Fire Overlord! Three Warrior Wall tokens then combined on the field into a ball of light as Obadiah placed Ragnarok on the field, his Dueal Blade shimmering and playing it's sound effect, before the ball of light changed shape and turned into Ragnarok. As far as powerful card went, Ragnarok was amongst the strongest in the Starter Deck series of cards =Obadiah Traevis= Let me introduce you to the Divine-Beast known as Ragnarok the Fire Overlord. He is a member of the Overlords, there exists one of each elements Overlord in each of the starter decks, and require 3 sacrifices to summon. This is due to their incredible strength and the abilities they possess, let me demonstrate. By removing 1 Huo Warrior in my graveyard from the game, Ragnarok can inflict 1000 points of direct damage to you... Obadiah then placed his hand in front of the graveyard slot, before a Huo Warrior was produced. He then move the card to his pocket, before Ragnarok glowed and several fire blasts fired towards Amber, removing 1000 Energy Points =Obadiah Traevis= But that's not all, Ragnarok, show her Megalodon what a real attack is like!

Amber lifted her right arm up to protect herself as the holoporjected fire blasts impacted her, causing her Energy Points to fall by 100 points She could sense this was where the Duel turned heavily in Obadiah's favour. From what he just said, Ragnarok was one of the strongest cards in the decks they were using She suddenly stood her ground as Ragnarok prepared to attack her Megalodon =Amber Caird= Time for a little damage control! Amber then activated her Typhoon Trap, which attached to Ragnarok. Although Ragnarok still destroyed her Megalodon, she only suffered 1500 points of damage, bringing her down to 1100 points. This Duel really was quite interesting, and despite the fact she had no hope of winning, she still smiled and enjoyed herself =Amber Caird= Nicely done!

Obadiah was a little surprised as Amber activated Typhoon Trap, but it hadn't been enough to too harshly affect the outcome. He was quite glad Amber was still having fun in this duel, despite how rather unfair it was stacked in his favour, considering he was a champion and she was just playing the game for the first time. But that was the idea though, a game people could have fun playing =Obadiah Traevis= You've done well Amber. Let's see what you can do with your last move!

Amber nodded as she placed her hand on the top of her deck, ready to draw her next card She knew it would take a miracle for her to win this duel, considering her hand was quite sparse at the moment Amber drew her final card and added it to her hand =Amber Caird= My move! As she checked out the card she had drawn, it seemed fate was not on her side today. All she had drawn was a Hydra Healing spell card, which was useless since she didn't have the required beast on her field. She then switched Jormungandr into defence mode, hoping Obadiah might not be able to summon another Beast in his next turn =Amber Caird= That's all. I end my turn. It's been a hell of a Duel Obadiah...

=Obadiah Traevis= It sure has been. It's time to end this. My draw! Obadiah then drew his last card for the duel and held it just off to the side, in something of a dramatic draw pose. He then tiled his hand a little, and saw that he had drawn Salamance Dragoon. This duel had indeed come to an end, and this card would allow him to do so =Obadiah Traevis= I summon Salamance Dragoon to the field! Rise my serpent of flames! Obadiah then placed Salamance Dragoon on the field in attack mode, moments before the Dragoon of fire rose from the field, it's body burning with intense flame =Obadiah Traevis= Now, I remove Huo Warrior from my graveyard, allowing Ragnarok to inflict 1000 points of direct damage! The final Huo Warrior in Obadiah's graveyard was ejected, before he placed it in his pocket. Ragnarok then shot out several balls of fire, inflicting 1000 points of damage to Amber's Energy Points =Obadiah Traevis= Now, Ragnarok, set fire to Jormungandr! Ragnarok seemed to roar, before a blast of fire incinerated Jormungandr. However as Jormungandr was in defence mode, no damage was inflicted to Amber's Energy Points =Obadiah Traevis= And now, Salamance Dragoon, finish this duel off! Salamance Dragoon darted through the air, before loosing a blast of fire at Amber, reducing her Energy Points to 0. The holo projections disappeared, before the rooms holo projectors displayed only Obadiah's headshot, with the words Winner written in a block font =Obadiah Traevis= That was one hell of a duel Amber...

Zacauah sat back and watched the duel, somewhat in slight anticipation of what moves Amber and Obadiah would pull. Although she still considered it a silly little card game, the holoprojections definitely added to the enjoyment and tense feelings of excitement one felt, especially when the field changed and the Beasts attacked each other. But that wasn't the only thing Zacaiah was waiting for.
Hikari and Akari had been paying attention not only to the duel, marvelling at how well Amber was doing against Obadiah, but they were also subconciously paying attention to just how distracted Zion was by the duel. The clones could feel their deeply hidden objective coming to the surface as Zion was distracted by the intense duel.
Akari suddenly latched onto Zion, holding him in place in what could be mistaken for a hug, while Hikari flicked her wrist, before a hidden knife slid out of her sleeve. Zacaiah could almost see it all in slow motion as Hikari got a good grip on the knife, before thrusting the knife into Zion's side, and angling it upwards slightly to properly embed the knife in the man's side =Hikari Morviael= Die!

Post by Zion Morviael [RETIRED] on Mar 5, 2014 3:45:34 GMT -8
Zion had almost instantly been captured by the fierce and competitive nature of the Dueal between Obadiah and Amber, both of them giving it all they had, and enjoying themselves at the same time. As Akari hugged him, he thought nothing of it, his attention more on his friends who were enjoying themselves in a friend competiton. It was for this same reason he didn't sense the incoming knife until it pierced his side, the blade manging to come in with such force it tore through the armourweave, before the blade was angled upwards. He suddenly went into shock as he turned his head as Hikari screamed out the words die as she let go off the knife =Zion Morviael= Why? That was the only word he managed to say, before he stumbled forward a little, freeing himself of Akari's hug. He then fell to his knee's, blank expressioned as Prime suddenly went into protection mode and raced across the room. He couldn't help but wonder what he had done to be betrayed by his own sisters in such a fashion. Had he really been that bad of a protector, was this pay back for not having rescued them all those years ago, despite the fact he hadn't known the girls he had seen die were clones. He gripped the hilt of the dagger, quickly wrenching it free, before he feel forward and landed on his front, his left hand wrapped around the front of his stomach, with a tight hold over the wound to try stem the flow of blood

Amber partly shielded her eyes as Obadiah ordered his last few attacks, before the holo projection system shut down as her Energy Points reduced to 0. She nodded at the man as she placed the cards back ontop of the deck in her Duel Blade before it turned to it's standby mode. It had been a good match, and she had learned a lot from it. Suddenly though, the moment was shattered as she heard Hikari scream out the word die. She quickly turned her head to see Hikari stabbing Zion in the side, moments before she pulled her maser pistol from it's holster, flicking the gun to stun mode as she swung it around, firing off two shots at Hikari and Akari as Zion feel forward onto the ground =Amber Caird= Zion!
