Although Rebecca had been dubious of the weapons, but the moment he called them trial weapons, she was only more apprehensive about them. There was more than a dozen varieties of proven and trusted slugthrowers on the market. It was a wonder anyone still made such inhumane weapons. True enough, it was difficult for a force user to block their ammunition with a lightsaber. But rogue force users were a rarity, and even then, that was what the Honoghr Conclave was for. Slugthrowers were messy weapons of violence, meant to torture those they were used against with wounds that were more gruesome than the slug itself. At least with a blaster or a charric, you had the knowledge that the weapon had a stun function as a first resort, with live ammunition as a back up. Even then, blaster wounds at least gave a doctor or medic a chance to patch up the average offender and allow proper justice be servedAs the head of Honoghr's defence force, I can say in all honesty that such... test weapons will not find themselves in the hands of anyone. Security or otherwise. Keeping the peace is a delicate job, without the potential mishap from a weapon that has not be properly tried and tested, like the small few makes of slugthrowers that we do already have. Not to say that the Honoghr Conclave, or even the Princess Matango herself, might wish to use them... As for weapons provided by the Ascendancy, such a statement is incorrect. Me and my people merely represent the noble House Elios. We only represent our own people, and not that of the wider Chiss. Whilst it seems a nonsensical distinction, it is an important one, and one that I would appreciate that you understood. After all, misunderstandings could lead to an unprovoked attack against our former homeworld. Whether we still call it home or not, does not diminish our responsibility to ensure its safety...Rebecca paused a moment, glancing across the crates of gear assembled there before her. It was a very touchy topic for her, and thus when it was broached, so did find herself getting carried away. Taking a breath, she turned back to RiddickAs for how our market works, the only yes-or-no say the government has, comes with trading with worlds we are at war with, or with whom have ties to tyrannical governments. After all, no matter how free of a market you wish to have, I would be correct to say that Ossus would not allow merchants to supply known hostile elements with weapons that could be used against yourself or innocent civilians, no? The only real hand a trade agreement would serve, would be to provide incentives for businesses to purchase goods and materials from allied worlds. Whilst I will not profess a deep understanding of economics, I do believe that lower import and export taxes are nice incentives for businesses to prefer a business from Ossus over a competitor business from another world...There was a reason she had left politics behind when she had come here. She had little tolerance for nonsense and delicate political talk. It was the reason that Ice had appointed her the head of the Honoghr Defence Force. Within a matter of months, she had reorganised the entire thing into an efficient working unit. So, to be back in such a position as this. Suffice to say, Rebecca was keen to see this business dealt with as quick as possible for the time being Keeping the peace is an admirable, if challenging an undertaking. To that end, we have found that an armed society is a polite society. All manner is good when you may have to back your acts up with your life, and that, among many others, is a reason we have brought them. And when I say "test weapon," I am only referring to the fact that they have not been tried by your defense forces to see if they will fit any of your needs. In accordance with laws and rules between the Siridar and the weapons guilds on Ossus, they are tested thoroughly, even up to the breaking point before they are allowed to be produced. As with all weapons of Ysannan manufacture, they will meet and exceed requirements of every major political power in the galaxy. Riddick paused for a moment, seeing that was a touchy subject, and not everyone saw the same thing the same way. I did not bring these to disrupt any peace you have striven for, but I have known Ice, for however short a time, to be a woman of indomitable character. Her ex-husband, even, still has considerable pull with me. If they are to represent what this enclave is about, then I would not wish to see what would happen if it finds itself unprepared against someone that even I could have helped fend off, even if just in spirit. Riddick took a breath before resuming. I know that we, more than likely, won't see it the same way. From my own experience, however, and with whatever history is of my own people, I am compelled to present the option, at a minimum. Riddick's experience was compelling, and slug throwers were always his preferred. Blasters were too easily defended against, and even with a hit, left a burn pattern that wouldn't heal nearly as well as a slug shot, if at all. Knowing, too, that lethal force wasn't always necessary, included in the ammunition loads were rubber rounds, and other reusable devices that fit over the muzzle that would harness a lethal round's energy and turn it into a stunning shot instead of a deadly one.And you are not entirely wrong with trade to hostile factions. There are governments of whom we have incredible disdain, we might hold back on suppling them with arms and other rather incendiary items, but we have been known to send food and humanitarian supplies, even openly. Peace is made, after all, with grain and salt. In war, it is typically the government of a world or coalition we fight, not the people and any trade we had with them previously will adapt accordingly. The only notable exceptions are have been the Mandalorians and the ruling worlds of the Sith, where everyone seems vested in killing what is not them.

Cultural differences were bound to arise when dealing with people from other worlds. other governments. other cultures. Not everyone held the same views and beliefs. What worked on one world, did not necessarily work on another. It was the inherent nature of such a vast galaxy I believe in this instance, we will once more have to agree to disagree. You can have a polite society, without arming everyone. Weapons are tools of self defence to only be used against those with malicious intent. Not to settle disputes between neighbours. But that is a moot point. Our worlds each have their own methods for dealing with such things... Regardless, these weapons will be kept with the Conclave and Princess Matango. Though, I can't say her husband is much of a role model for this Enclave, if word of what I have heard about his recent exploits are true... Rebecca then withdrew her datapad and examined some notes on it briefly after it alerted her. One was from the science team assigned to Shedo, updating her on his projects progress. She locked the datapad again and put it away Well, I am afraid I must cut this meeting here. I would offer you a tour, but duty calls. It has been a pleasure...

Though, I can't say her husband is much of a role model for this Enclave, if word of what I have heard about his recent exploits are true... There wasn't much point arguing that different needs meant different ways, and from that are built different cultures. The whole "different strokes for different folks" idea. Then again, it was always worth considering, even if just as a mental exercise, how others managed to accomplish things. An old master on Riddick's world did state that it's bad when one thing becomes two, and say that "our way is like this other way," but that one should still hear of all ways and be more in accord with one's own.Yes, but then you would be surprised, as in our case, just how often the legal system is used when everyone is on equal ground. The actual number of instances a weapon is used to settle accounts between neighbors is certainly very rare, though not completely unheard of. Our crime rates are among the lowest of any decently sized civilization in the galaxy, and not just because a vast majority of people are armed. Do as you will with the things I have brought, we shall let their users sing their praises... or curses. We may be worlds apart in our doings, literally and figuratively, but at least you seem to understand my intentions, even if you abhor their presence. As for Adieumus, he has done fairly well at running silent lately. If he is anything like the man I remember, though, there is not much the man would put himself through, for good or for ill, that he would not see to the end, even if it kills him many years from now. Adi was, as Riddick remembered, a determined sort of person. Erratic and ecclectic in his ways and tastes, but determined, which endeared him to Riddick, in its own right, even if not to many, if any others. Also, it seemed like he had the nine lives of a cat, and the equivalent level of instinct.Rebecca then withdrew her datapad and examined some notes on it briefly after it alerted her. One was from the science team assigned to Shedo, updating her on his projects progress. She locked the datapad again and put it awayWell, I am afraid I must cut this meeting here. I would offer you a tour, but duty calls. It has been a pleasure... As always. Jaecyn made his way toward the fighters, among which was his own. Some of the maintainers from Ossus stowed on one of the transports as part of a TDY team, and had been working on keeping the fighters in peak condition. Mostly small jobs, though one of them had a faulty landing gear indicator. That was fixed with a suitable substitute part, used on the XJ X-Wings. The local mechanics were gracious enough to rig a jack stand to perform the follow on maintenance, which was being done just as Jaecyn made it back to his own fighter. His own fighter had a couple of formation lights and a nav light out, and the breathing oxygen was low. Even though Ysannan pilots wore environmentally sealed combat suits with their own oxygen supply, that supply was used when operating separated from the craft or in other hazardous places. Pilots usually hooked their suit up to the fighters built in oxygen system, which held ten liters of liquid oxygen that was heated into gas, to keep their suits fully supplied while still providing adequate oxygen. Riddick assisted with the lights, while one of the crew chiefs took care of putting breathing oxygen in the lox tank. Once all the fixing was done and signed off, and functional checks were completed, all the pilots looked over their craft and checked off on them.

With all the check outs and sign offs complete, the go ahead is given by Riddick to the fighters and freighters to go home. Riddick sent and received clearance to depart from the area and head for orbit. The fighters spooled up all their engines, and left two at a time for orbit, forming up into four-ship flights along the way, with the freighters very close behind.

Sarissa had felt the man's earlier probing through the force as she had approached. It seemed both sides at this meeting were curious about one another. But at the very least, it seemed his mild probing was all he intended to do. Like her, Kiel was being careful not to have walked into a trap, if indeed he was Kiel Morviael. Prime scanned each face as the introductions were done, whilst also matching the voice samples. When positive matches were given, he gave a slight nod to Sarissa. Allowing her to be a little more at ease in the company of the trio that had just landed.
At the very least, they looked and sounded like the people they claimed to be. Though, it wouldn't be the first time clones had been sent to attack Zion. However, she was fairly certain the Cinn Ion were not dumb enough to try the same trick twice. For now, she would observe them, and keep an eye on them until Zion returned. She was pretty certain he would be able to tell then, if they were the real deal or not. She couldn't help but smile at his praise. He was certainly a charmer, that was for sure"You would be correct. Master Morviael is currently attending to other business. But I would be more than happy to show you around, or find you a place to stay until he returns? I can't say I know his expected return, but I don't imagine he will be gone too long..." Kiel smiled, sensing that she was more trusting of them. Well, that at least was a good sign. They each believed they were who they claimed to be. It was a dangerous life they all lived, never truly knowing who to trust. For that was something the Cinn Ion had eroded years ago. The ability to trust each other. And with someone as high profiled as Zion, the situation was far worse. Kiel knew numerous attempts had been made on his cousins life. Each had been more dangerous and cunning than the last. He then motioned towards the EnclaveFor the time being, I suppose a tour would be nice. As for lodgings, well... we each have our own room aboard The Quiver. Yes, it's a strange name, I know. I'm a bit of a hobbyist archer...

"It's certainly not the strangest ship name I've ever heard... Though, at least you have a name for your ship. Anyway, allow me to show you around..." With that, Sarissa lead the way out of the hangar bay with Prime at her side. She would take the trio through the Temple, visiting all the public access areas, bringing them up to speed on how the Honoghr Conclave had come to be. As well as stuff about the RDMC and the Government. She also showed them where Nystao was on a map in relation to the Temple. Once the tour was done, they returned to the hangar bay, stopping in front of Kiel's ship "And that's that. Feel free to come and go as you please. And if you ever need anything, please feel free to let me know, as you are guests within this Temple and that means you are my charges. I hope you have a good stay" She gave a short bow then, before taking her leave of the group. Prime followed close behind. As she walked away, she couldn't shake this feeling like there was some connection between her and Kiel. He was certainly handsome, of that she could not deny. But something about this feeling felt different. It wasn't quite like a physical attraction. It was deeper than that. She just couldn't quite put her finger on what exactly it was. But she had every intent to get to the bottom of what ever it was
