She listened, with great interest, to what he had to say about the security system. Folding her arms across her chest, she raised an eyebrow when he said it would take possibly two to three months to get a new system in place. She had figured it would be longer, considering how big the RDMC was, so two to three months seemed like a decent time span to get an updated system up and running.
"You're not boring me, Doctor." She gave a small laugh before continuing. "I like your plan, so far, and we obviously need a new security system. I've been thinking about if for some time now with some of the rather high profile patients and clients we deal with, and some of them would like to remain anonymous. We can't guarantee that anonymity if our system is a piece of shit. So yes....please go ahead with your ideas for the new system. I'll free up some credits from the budget to help with any miscellaneous materials you may need. Just let me know what you need in the way of credits or extra equipment and you'll have it."
Ali, smiled lightly at Wilhelm before her attention was briefly diverted by her name being called over the hospitals P.A. system.
"Ah, duty calls. If there's anything you need to discuss about the security system just message me. And Wilhelm, next time you want to try an experiment like this....at least give me some kind of warning so I don't think the planets being attacked again."
She chuckled lightly, to let him know she wasn't angry with him for his shenanigans, just perhaps with how he went about proving the faults of the old system.

Wilhelm waited and listened as Alisha gave him the go ahead to upgrade the network in anyway he pretty much wanted or needed to. He gave a grateful nod as she said she would free up funds from the budget and that she would make any extra credits and/or equipment available as was needed. He gave her a wave as she chuckled before leaving, meaning he had once again saved his own job, though he never really was worried that much about it, most of the admins at the RDMC were very understanding. Wilhelm exited his office, something of a smirk on his face as he retook his seat opposite Alena on the couch seat. Basically an almost unlimited budget, with a minimum completion time of 3 months. Well it was certainly not the reaction he had expected, but it was good news for them regardless =Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren= So... It seems my plans to upgrade the network have just been moved ahead sooner than I expected. When can you start?

Lifting the collection of boxes with what contained his last four years of work, development and research; hell his life Tomas bade a silent nodded farewell to his colleagues in the Advanced Cybernetics exoskeleton department and with a grim smile and a final pat of his faded trusty chair he left the head desk, left behind two years of seniority in leading the program into experimental frames and moved onto, well he didn't know and what he did know he could not say.
Selected as one of the brightest, he and a handful of others who also had a background in military software and hardware had all been selected, no doubt Tomas research and development on integrating a molitextual synthetic frame that used biotic micro droids to build a supporting frame to existing bone work had drawn him to the attention of the program leader.
As for the project itself, no one knew, suspicions were of course aroused when those selected all had some level of involvement in military level development, Tomas own involvement had been designing skeletons for powered suits for GTU, this experience he had keyed down and transferred, so instead of creating a cybernetic skeleton for a suit, he had created them for beings. Now however he was to be relocated, even the building itself was under wraps, purpose built. Now with the amalgamation of Honoghr Arms into the fold the company was turning its eyes toward creating possible weapons or at least advancing cybernetics to be put into the Military or Military roles.
Tomas wasn't sure if he should be excited or not, but he looked forward to returning to a more active field of research, he sorely missed the weapons testing and combat readiness programs and hoped that this new project code named 'Project U' would give him the creative freedom he craved and longed for. His ambitions had taken him this far, who knew to where his genius might lead.

Nurse Savannah greeted Tomas Voyd when the man arrived out the front of the cybernetics lab, before taking him through into the main lab, to one of the back corners that had been walled off from the main lab by portable walls that could be shifted as needed. Dr Lehmann and Dr Moore were both standing at the head of a fairly long work bench. Dr Moore made his way around the workbench and extended his hand to shake Tomas' hand in greeting =Dr Conan Moore= It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Mr Voyd. I have heard a great deal about your work... Dr Lehmann nodded towards Tomas, preffering to stand back and let the man put his things down and take a breath. Plus, as the project leader, he wanted to maintain a more formal relationship with his team members =Dr Leon Lehmann= It's nice to meet you Mr Voyd. Welcome to HAMR Corp, the Honoghr Arms and Medical Research Corporation. Or the RDMC's Cybernetics and Robotics division. I am Dr Leon Lehmann, the lead researcher for Project U...

Tomas was greeted by slender Woman with flame red hair, undeniably attractive but the look upon her face was serious, curt and polite. Tomas noted her cybernetic arm and leg and unlike most who wished for their prosthesis or cybernetic parts to be covered or hidden this Woman wore hers proudly almost as a statement. Tomas shook her hand firmly and then followed her down the stark white twisting corridors with a polite nod and a gesture of an open palm she steered him toward the lab leaving him in the capable hands of two gentleman clad at least for the meantime in similar white lab coats.
Tomas laid down his case upon the nearest surface wiped any residual sweat from his hands upon his trousers and then extended a hand in turn to each man. He nodded politely to both, again in turn.
"Thank you both Gentleman, and I assure you, of what you have heard of my work, your work." He gestured to both men before him. "Is legendary, and to be working with you is an extraordinary honor indeed. I look forward to putting my small field of expertise to good use on.........project U?"
A queried raising in the intonation in his speech and a mild furrowing of the brow searched both men, formally to ascertain he was correct about the project title and secondly in the hope that either or both men could shed some light upon the mysterious project, unless of course they two were in the dark; which he doubted, or possibly were just being plain courteous in waiting the other members of the assembled team.

Leon smirked as Tomas called both his and Conan's work legendary, quite certain the man was indeed versed in making a good first impression upon his employers. Leon then pushed a button on a terminal nearby to the center table, before several holo projectors activated, projecting a model of armour somewhat resembling a super advanced version of the AV-1s scout armor =Dr Leon Lehmann= I am sure you will put your skills to great use here. Before you, is an image of what Project U is aiming to produce. It is an advanced suit of combat armour, designed off some of the basics of the AV-1S Sout Armor. However, this is more than just Scout Armour... Conan then handed Tomas a encrypted datapad that contained all the proposed specs for the armour suit, including weapons, armour, power, etc. Their aim was to create something to rival the old CLoWDs armour, or even replace it. Whether they would be successful, well that was a different matter, but their aim was to try =Dr Leon Lehmann= So what do you think? You up for the challenge?

Tomas watched as the terminal before him hummed to life and up sprang a three dimensional holographic representation of the proposed outcome of project U. Tomas automatically reached for the datapad and began analyzing the suits proposed capabilities. There was a clear outline here of what they wanted to create, but naturally the outcome was just an idea, a proposal, what they needed were the brains and the graft to get to the finished article.
Tomas raised his eyes from the datapad.
"It's an impressive proposal, and naturally you are asking a lot, but it is certainly achievable Gentleman, somehow."
This was his court now, he held a confident smile and strode forward tapping the interface, the holographic suit responding by turning and then with a splaying of his fingers it came apart. Tomas noted that a multitude of these parts didn't exist, some perhaps as of yet couldn't exist, but Tomas could make the impossible a reality, in his world, there were no rules. He grinned a wolfish grin.
"Gentleman how soon can you deliver a hard copy of the existing armour, I want to test it and push it to its maximum capabilities straight away."
Tomas knew, as all Engineers did, yes he had the statistics, but they were but numbers and numbers were but a measure, usually taken from the median, Tomas wanted to see and test the real deal, then he would trim it, hone it and maximize the suits potential, then he could see how far to his goal that brought him. Already he saw how he could improve the flight characteristics, reduce weight and drag but not hamper protection, it seemed the designers had opted for a multitude of power cells, Tomas saw that one could source better cells, more compact cells, extend the suits operational ability. For now it was just a suit, he had to turn suit into weapon, and he would.

Leon liked the confidence Tomas displayed as the man eyed the holoprojection, before asking after asking after a hard copy of the armour. Thankfully they had already taken the liberty of already purchasing a copy of the armour. Conan pressed a button on a nearby crate, before the front of it split in half and opened up to reveal a copy of the suit =Dr Leon Lehmann= Already ahead of you there. For now, I'll leave you to it, I'll be checking in regularly, and if you need me, my comm link details are stored on the datapad... Leon then made his way across the lab and back to the Surgical Suits, where there was a number of Robotics consults he needed to perform. Conan placed his hand on Tomas' shoulder and smiled at him reassuringly =Dr Conan Moore= Good luck... Conan then followed not far behind Leon, since there was a number of post op patients he needed to check in with as well, one could never be too confident about whether they had performed an operation perfectly without performing check ups. Conan knew better than most that small details were important in the grand scheme of things, especially where patient care was concerned

Suddenly, the doors opened and in walked a thin, pale woman in the hospitals gown. She was pulling an IV stand beside her. The meds she had been taking made her bald, they were so heavy on her system, but there was three spikes pointing out of her head. Maybe that is the reason she was here. Or maybe the one blue eye, and the one red eye. Her face was even paler then usual, and filled with holes where piercings should be. Not to mention her ears that looked like a cheesegrater.
Syla had a faint smile on her face. This was the first time she felt strong and heatlyh enough to move outside her room. Twice the nurses had to bind her to the bed as she went through the worst of the abstinence, and she had been projectile vomiting anything she ate. Took weeks, even months for her to get somewhat presentable, and this is what was coming now to the Cyberneticy lab, wearing a pair of bunny-flip-flops.
"Hey, anyone here?"

It had been a busy past couple months for Wilhelm, Leon, Conan, and the temporary crew they had hired to attend to the security upgrades, but everything was all finished now and business was returning back to normal in the Cybernetics Labs. The trio were returning to their regular work schedules, and catching up on some of their patient back logs. On this particular day, they were all working in the Surgical Suites, attending to various consults, check-ups, and a couple of minor operations. Nurse Savannah was busy helping Conan, leaving Leon and Wilhelm to act as their own receptionist. Which was why Wilhelm happened to be exit one of the consult rooms when Syla entered. He looked up from his datapad as he heard her talk, taking a quite moment to study the woman before him, that looked like some frankenstein of cybernetics. He walked over to her, and stopped a couple feet away, as he extended his right hand for her to shake =Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren= Welcome to the RDMC Cybernetics Lab. The name is Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren. How might I help you?

"Spitballs dude, the list on how you CANT is frack shorter!"
She shook his hand. A weak shake, lot weaker then she actually looked. The woman seemed to be either on heavy meds or just got off heavy meds. Either case, heatlhy was very far from any adjectives one could use on the cyberpunk padawan at her present state. She could still ware a pleasant smile though.
"Last time I had a checkup was about three wars ago, and that in itself was half an emergency. Where shall I start... Ok."
She reached out her right hand and showed Wilhelm the Finger. As she did, five lids popped open on the side of her finger and small holographic projectors lined out the following words:
Kriff You Kriff You Kriff You Kriff You Kriff You
THe third line was spasming in and out. Same with the cutting laser in her left longfinger. The chainsaw implant on the left hands side was hacking, as if something got it stuck now and then, the right index finger couldnt fully bend, one of her antennas were slightly bent and a miriad other problems she could show just on the fly.
"Had a little close run in with some mandalorians on dressel, not a nice thing to have. Crashed my ship before that. Battle at Camino didnt help neither, god damned wet planets crapped with my ear implants. I am sure I have been hearing the fracking ocean for like a year now. God damnit. Last crash was the worst. My eye gets clitchy, the comm is unreliable at best and..... fuck man, why dont we just do a full diagnostics?"

Wilhelm couldn't help but take note of the woman's rather weakened state, no doubt attributed to what ever treatment she was recieving from the RDMC in one of the other departments. He took notes as she explained everything, showing some of her malfunctioning cybernetics off at the same time. She really was in a bad shape, and judging by his preliminary fidnings, there was a lot of work to be done =Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren= Please follow me... Wilhelm then lead her over to the third room, one of two rooms that contained scanning and diagnostic equipment for Cybernetics and Robotics. He closed the door behind her, before leading her over to a table in the middle of the room, which he helped her get onto, before getting her to lay down. With that out of the way, Wilhelm moved over to a console and input a couple of commands, before a couple of scanning devices lowered from the roof and started scanning Syla, a process that would take a little bit of time considering the age of her implants =Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren= So... Got a name?

She followed him babbling.
"Yeah... Nice! Scanning arms! Dude! Those are tottaly what we needed in the marines! Crap they never listened to me... No budget. Stupid craps, we could have diagnosed people AND machines, saving tons of life and money, but noooo... this is the marine corps! We make due!"
She walked weakly into the third room, pulling her IV stand with her more as something to steady her steps then the need for fluids. Even though she looked like she would drop any minute, she could go ON and god damned ON with her organic vocal unit (mouth).
"Shit, the more time I spend here, the more I see you guys are god damned set fat on high tech man! The amount of nastyness I could provide with just some wires and a blowtorch... oh? RIGHT! Its Syla. Syla Ulfsdottir. Sorry man, I get carried away easily. Erm... dont search in the Cybernetics patient list... its on the... eh... Toxicology. I am on detox."
First time since Wilhelm saw her that she got some colour on her cheeks. Red of shame.
The diagnostics showed exactly what Wilhelm and Syla expected. Major ware and tear with minimal maintenance. The spineal implants were new though, and thank gods, they didnt need any change, just some optimisation. Her hands, ears, antennas and eye were an other story. She needed a new eye, her eye socket needed some tweaking, something in the right thumb started to infect in answer to her new medication, gods know why. The illegal implants the girl had could be a good reson, some of those places that install the stuff are no more then chop-shops. Some poor dude gets smacked on the head one day, and his eyes are found in some crime bosses eye sockets the next. The antennas needed to be changed too, one was slightly bent, the other was out of commision. Ears needed cleaning, and the neural inplants? Well, maybe those were in the best shape, since they were installed with the newer spinal implants.
All in all, a mess. A rather impressive mess too.

As Syla talked of having been in the marines, her determination and strong will despite looking like she was about ready to keel over and die was starting to make some more sense. He then smirked as Syla seemed, at least in some way, marvelled by the amount of high tech gear the RDMC seemed to keep on hand. Personally Wilhelm was not quite certain some of their life saving work would have been possible without the aid of it, especially in cases such as Syla's. As the scan results started appearing on the screen, Wilhelm also ran a check of Syla's medical record, logging both her visit to the Cybernetics area, along with her scan results. Between the intensive detox program she was on, and the state of her implants, she almost made Darth Vader seem like a picture of perfect health. There was helluva lot of work to do here, since it was basically like taking a scrapped second hand freighter and redoing it over like brand new, but he was confident he could do it =Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren= It's not pretty... in fact I've seen run down apartments that looked better. But, that said, everything can be fixed and or upgraded, I'll just need a day to finalize everything and make sure it wont interfere with your detox program. I'll be happy to include any poreferences you have, where possible. So what do you say?

-Syla- "Fourthy hour workweek, an apartmant that doesnt smell like catpiss, and a dildo that cooks and cleans would also be nice."
She gave him a weak smile and a joke.
-Syla- "Yeah... all I can say is thanks man. Its kinda good to know I wont rust for the coming years."
She got to her feet and started off for the door. Not because she was leaving yet, but in her condition, she better start soon or she wont get there until lights are out. She started stumbling towards the exit and the hover-chair she had gotten here on. Then... she got an idea.
-Syla- "Dude... can I... can I ask for a favor or two? I... I need some stuff. Computers, wires... stuff like that. To... piff up my room. I... I have a friend I need to rebuild."

Wilhelm chuckled at the couple requests Syla made, quite certain that the cooking and cleaning dildo was more of a product idea for the iLick corporation, than a cybernetic enhancement that he would make. Obviously, if it had been a serious request, he would have been all over that, like stink on a warthog, but for now it was nothing but a pipe-dream joke =Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren= Well I'm not sure about the apartment issue, but I'll do my best to get you some parts delivered, just promise me you wont try do anything silly with it, alright? Wilhelm started inputting notes into Syla's file, relating mostly to the upgrade request and possible ideas for replacements that would be put in, since some of the tech was outdated. He would also input a request to have some computer gear delivered to Syla's room, as he promised he would

After all the chaos she had been through since Yavin IV, after everything she had done to make it this far, it was good to be able to relax every now and again. And by "relax", she of course meant "create and then solve an endless series of needlessly complicated problems that could be avoided by doing pretty much anything else."
Alena was a bit of an oddity that way.
Currently, she was laying on a hoverboard underneath her workbench, hydrospanner in her right hand and the data readout implant in her left wrist syncing with her visor's HUD. Sparks flew all around, but she was no stranger to electricity -- ironic that that had been her armour's main weakness -- and so she did not flinch when a few of them stung her exposed skin. She had noticed a slight delay in the workbench's interface, and that didn't just require a fix in her mind: that required a whole brand-spankin'-new upgrade to a better, faster model. So there she was, wasting her time to any outside observer, completely content with what she was doing.
This was peace.

Whilst life around the rest of the RDMC was still busy and taking interesting turns by the minute, life down in the Cybernetics and Robotics Lab was settling into sa much more relaxed manner, with Wilhelm able to take time off from his usual patients to spend time working on his various side projects, some of which were being sent through various shell companies to sell on the commercial market in various other forms. But, when he wasn't working on his own pet projects, or attending to patients, Wilhelm had taken to introducing various minor glitches into some of the work stations, purely for the sheer amusement of watching Alena take it upon herself to take the thing apart and entirely upgrade everything. It was a fun game, and one that he was no doubt certain Alena had worked out he was the one behind, but they still each seemed to play their parts, and so the fun continued for the time being, as Wilhelm made his way over to where Alena was currently working, stopping a couple feet away =Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren= How's she looking?

She didn't have to move out from underneath the workbench to know who it was; she had been wondering when he would be getting around to visiting her. She simply rolled her eyes, an automatic response to being interrupted during her work, and watched the diagnostics readout as her newly-installed code compiled.
"Ask me again in sixty seconds."
That was already an overestimation on time: her upgrades only had an estimated thirty seconds left. She was just employing an old engineering trick to look a bit more impressive.
"And don't think I'm not onto your games."
Twenty-eight seconds later, the workbench dinged, and she pushed herself out from underneath it, running a hand across her forehead and further adding to the messiness of her technicolor hair, a smug smile on her face..

Had Wilhelm been able to see her face when she rolled her eyes at his interruption, it was very likely the man would have had a good chuckle at her slight frustration, but as it was, he just smirked at her reply and moved a little closer to the bench as he waited the couple or so seconds for the code to compile=Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren=Ah, but games are fun, otherwise we wouldn't play them... He paused for a moment as the workbench dinged and Alena appeared from underneath it a few seconds later, a general look of messiness to her that was further added to when she wiped her brow. Hell, he would have taken her right there and then, but he knew she prefered the other kind, so to speak, which, if he was honest, was kind of way hotter, and was one of the reasons he kept her around, especially since they could relate to one another about the sweetness of Alisha's ass. Wilhelm gave a quick shake of his head, his thoughts having strayed a little=Dr Wilhelm Van Buuren=Speaking of games, I think I got some points with Alisha. Naming something after her? one of the best ideas I've ever had... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, Leon was busy in the refurbished HAMR Corp labs with a team of technicians, hard at work doing the finshing touches on a half dozen armour storage pods, doing the final installs for the repulsor lifts, magnetic locks, and security measures. Once the final systems were installed, the team went about testing the new slave function they added, where in one pod was moved about acting as a master unit, whilst the 5 other pods followed as slave units, meaning all six pods could be moved by one person. Once that was done, the team started placing the newly upgraded suits, which all now sported the latest tech and newest armour plate combinations, into their respective pods
