The office of the Attorney General, just like the aisle itself, had been vacant for a while. All that was needed was a person to run Umgul's legislature. Ever since Ljiljana's acceptance to the job, therefore her appointment, she turned that empty space into her own. It was a professional setting, that screamed business — or law more like it — and made it her own. The office might not have been located in the highest floor but it was still towering the city giving the occupant of this place a 90° view ...

Setting up a lunch meet with CKayne is pretty easy, I have given her the choice to do it back home considering what had happened to Elika when she was offworld. Of course I want to be there for her, make sure that she doesn't have any other trauma considering all of the other things she has gone through. Yes, I do know because even though I technically do "not" know, per se, CKayne is still my best friend and we have talked while Elika was often away ...
What is so bad about that anyways?
Theoretically, I do not know and therefore I shall never utter a word about it. I am an attorney anyways, so pretty much every secrets are safe with me and besides sooner or later, I am bound to know, right?
Right ...
"Morning boys! I greet the two guards standing right there in front of the office, I even wave my fingers in their direction and give them a smile ... Despite the fact that I never comprehended at first the whats and whys every "important" offices had to have guards right there, CKayne gave me the whole deal and the reasons why, she even told me a while ago that the two Chiss that I have met once upon a time were usually stationed in front of her door. Her entire coverage and explanations were enough for me, it was standing procedure. Standing in front of the bioscan, I let the device scan my eye and my fingerprint to access my office before looking back at the soldiers right there. Have a nice day."
It is time for business and I dump my purse onto my desk and remove my coat before turning on the data terminal, I, obviously, make a face at the stack of files onto my desk but I know that sooner, rather than later, I would get over all of that and the legislation would be up to date, hopefully ...
Sitting down on the chair, while I wait for my dataterminal, I turn my seat to look through the window, nothing much can be seen, sure, due to the mists, but this is a pretty nifty office compared to the ones I used to have back home or back in Coruscant. That makes me scoff and in the process, I even do a mental victory dance because of where I am now ... Although, I am still a little intimidated. Compared to before, I had a safety net in a sense, and now I am flying solo, how disconcerting, but I know that I will still give my all for this new position that I have landed luckily.
Now about flying solo, looking back in front of me, or more precisely my dataterminal, I open my current to-do list and input another line about needing an assistant. That would make my life easier in a sense and once that is done and completed, I open my work mail and start doing what I do best, that is to work and wait until I get a return from my baby girl about that lunch I set up with her ...

Speaking of assistant ... I wonder how Kayne is breaking hers. Leaning back against my seat because I very well know that the current Chief Financial Officer personally went head hunting for a PA due to the fact that she could be demanding. Let's be honest, she has to be, she can't expect the person supposedly having her back to mess up ...
Well, well ... As if on command, I notice from the corner of my eyes a pop-up notifying me that I have just received a mail from none other than Crystal Kayne. I read the content of the message and hovered the mouse on the link before clicking on it and just watch that interview from Atlantis. He seems very serious but still laid back until I notice him losing his ground when that well known weather girl just appears out of the blue in that outfit. My jaw drops for a moment and I cannot help but to purse my lips even though a few giggle starts spilling from in between my lips when I notice how uncomfortable he is when Claire settles on him.
Oh gosh!
Shaking my head and hitting the reply button I cannot help but to giggle yet again while typing the message making sure to add another person to this conversation, just because ... That person needs some fun and some relaxation and Atlantis was great at providing the laughter without doing it on purpose.
Hitting the send button after finishing with my mail, I focus on the serious task at hand although right now I am merely putting the finishing touches on the new legislatures for the planet and will pass those through the Vice Governor and perhaps the government can have a referendum on that if the Senator and Vice Governor so wished it ...
Unable to help myself though, I press the replay button of that interview only because I am interested in the content of the interview that Atlantis has gone through ... Only after I have made the call to the winery, of course, to get that box of wine delivered at home.

Ryan knows that he has no need to accompany me up in the office, he also knows that I am not the same woman at work. Okay maybe that is a hyperbole but still fact remains that I truly do not like my private and work life be mixed. The best I can do is actually having one of my closest friends as a colleague but thankfully Kayne and I aren't on the same floor and our dealings do not mix. Making a straight line towards my office with some folders in my left hand and carrying my briefcase with my right, I remember that conversation back in the hovercar.
Suicide ... whoever that might be, it's not something that has been brought to my attention. But if Crystal thinks there is something up with that, then maybe there was a foul play ...
Pushing the door to my office, I put everything down, the case files and my briefcase before taking my seat and turning on my dataterminal, Atlantis has told me that he was going to send that article that he had been reading and upon opening my mails, I see his name under other names. Deciding to focus on that article first, I click on it and start reading it.
Ugh, I hate the local news ... I really do, because it doesn't really show the respect that this editor might have deserved. But all in all, I can say that it's not my problem currently at least none of the paralegals. Although the surprising thing is that there is no eulogy for that person. He might not have been well liked then, but whoever is the successor, that is fast.
Glancing at the pile of files on my desk, I take a deep breath and grab all of those to give each and everyone of those a cursory glance just checking to see if there is something about it. No, obviously nothing, although at the same time surprising, an editor of a large local agency news is bound to have a lot of enemies, and that person might have amassed some wealth while in that position. No succession claims, nothing. This isn't supposed to be that easy ... Hailing one of the paralegals, I task him to search more details on this apparent suicide, if indeed it was a suicide and not a cover up.

The frightened paralegal hurries to fulfill Lilijana's request, returning posthaste with a small pile of flimsiplast sheets organized neatly in a file folder. The top sheet of flimsiplast lists the contents of the file, and includes a summary of the information contained in the coroner's report, investigating detective's reports, and transcripts from witnesses interviewed in the course of the investigation.
The report detailing the investigation of the murder of B’rann Ryyatt, the Bothan editor of the newspaper, had concluded definitively that the cause of death, a single blaster wound to the head, was a suicide. The coroner’s autopsy concluded that Ryyatt had placed the blaster, registered to him, in his mouth at an upward angle and fired the fatal shot. Ryyatt’s body was found in his home by his maid the morning after his suicide. A note, in what analysis concluded was Ryyatt's handwriting had been found at the scene, containing the Bothan's brief declaration that he was unable to endure the unraveling of his personal and professional lives, and intended to end his own life before disgracing himself further.
The investigating detectives had interviewed Ryyatt’s friends, family members, and co-workers, learning that Ryyatt had been depressed for several months following a quiet divorce from his wife of twenty years, and private battles with alcohol and gambling addictions. Ryyatt’s wife had also been questioned, revealing that the cause of the divorce was Ryyatt’s confession that he was having an affair with another woman he adamantly refused to identify. The investigating detectives were unable to discover the unknown woman’s identity, but concluded she was not a suspect based on the lack of evidence Ryyatt’s death was anything other than a suicide, as well as the fact that Ryyatt’s will was unchanged, his wife being his sole heir.
Doran Healy, the senior newspaper journalist elected to replace Ryyatt by the newspaper’s board of directors, had also been investigated and questioned. Healy, who had an airtight alibi for the time of the suicide, stated that the paper’s decision to downplay the more salacious details surrounding Ryyatt’s suicide was based in part on his ex-wife’s request and in part out of respect for the Bothan’s many notable contributions to journalism. The investigating detectives had also questioned the newspaper’s board of directors, learning that Healy’s promotion was being considered even prior to Ryyatt’s suicide due to the Bothan’s recent declining performance related to his marriage woes and struggle with addiction.

Grabbing the file when handed to me, I place it right in front of me to read it but before doing so, I look at the paralegal and incline my head as a thanks. I don't even give him a smile but just a simple. "Thank you, you can return to what you have been doing." Maybe I could be friendlier while at work and maybe I could just socialize even more. But fact is, I don't have time to play nice with everyone here and there are only a select few that I give my attention to. Although I do know that each and every one of the paralegals do work hard and do their job correctly because I did push for a global raise for everyone but never once I claimed out loud that it was thanks to me.
Please ... Like I need all the thanks pouring in my direction.
Returning to that file and reading everything in it intently, I can only conclude that it was indeed a suicide, that there was no foul play at hand and there is a reason why that article only stated what was what. I definitely have to let Kayne know, she has been the one thinking first and foremost that something was wrong with that article. This case is after all closed ... Right then, focusing my attention onto my dataterminal, I open up a blank mail only destined to a single person.
Hitting the send button, I close the file and put it aside neatly just in case Crystal needs to see it. Although I am not really holding my breath because she isn't the kind to dig her heels into foreign territories ...

It is only after I get the response from Crystal that I put the file aside about that suicide. I knew from experience that she wouldn't have needed the file but I had to be sure ... Better not to assume about this considering that she certainly was unsettled by this. Drumming my fingertips onto the desk, I look at the stack of file that I have to treat. It ranges from some of the decrees that the government has just issued to amending furthering the legislation of this planet ...
I did not see the time go by because each time I am buried into my work, I rarely glance at the time. Thankfully though, I do have help here and it's easy to delegate some matters that aren't that big of a deal, at least for now. But fact is, I had to deviate from what I used to do back in New Alderaan because this is not something I used to do precisely. It is only when I get a reminder from my datapad that I realize it is time for me to have a break and actually have that lunch break. Standing up from my seat and stretching a little, I grab my coat, scarf and purse before walking out of my office.
Making a detour by the cafeteria first, I roll my eyes when I notice that a certain mailbox is filled with letter and equally the piggy bank seems to be overflowing with credit chip. "Really, guys ..." Glancing at the people in there who are currently having their lunch, I shake my head before grabbing the letters and the credit chips despite my unimpressed and jaded expression. Now it is really the time for me to head to the floor above and hand these letters to the concerned person because this was turning to be more and more ridiculous as the weeks and the months went by ...

Ryan, who usually dropped off not only his girlfriend, but also his sister when Fly boy was busy, was walking through the corridor that led to Lily's legal department, her office. They barely talked on their way here, but he could tell that she had been worked up by something. He did not blame her at all, after finding out a few things concerning women they both knew about. He had no idea he knew those lawyers but at the same time it didn't surprise him.
"New Alderaan, or Coruscant?" Ryan asked out of the blue finally breaking that ominous silence. One thing he knew for sure was that Lily was from New Alderaan just like Kase actually, just like his sister who grew up there and then education happened in Coruscant. While he knew that his question there seemed senseless, he looked at his girlfriend as they walked into her office. He knew that Lily was different here at work than she was on a daily basis and he also knew that she usually didn't like that he came here to her work space, something about separating business and pleasure, but right now she still didn't send him away, so he was going to take that chance right here and right now to ask a few questions.
"I meant where you have met them, the lawyers of P.M.S.?" Ryan elaborated thoughtfully, and then also remembered that it wasn't only Kassidy from New Alderaan, but Stefanie also was from there. Lindsay was Hapan, that much he knew, the whole details of their lives, he didn't know much, and he certainly had no idea that his sister, but also Lily knew them, let alone that Crystal was engaged to Stefanie. He had so many thoughts going through his mind, and he kept looking at Lily thoughtfully, even with a faint frown. Truth be told he had no idea what to do, or say about all of this, even if he did say a few things already last night, she didn't pull away from him. Quite the contrary, she was very exhausted and they just slept without any conversation occurring.

There is one thing that I am glad about currently, Hot Stuff knows when to give me space, and he knows not to really push issues when I am not in the mood ... Though I have no freaking idea how I am currently feeling, and even though Baby Girl and I have made up, I just know that the toughest of things has yet to come. Going through the security clearances and straight to my office, I have already that same usual face that I sport at work, and even if my boyfriend is next to me, people know when to not cross that proverbial line of not joking with me about my personal life when at work and when we are not close.
Business is business ...
Putting my briefcase down by my desk, I end up looking at Ryan with a dubious expression. Something about New Alderaan, or Coruscant ... "Gotta be more precise than that Hot Stuff ... Since after all it covers many things, and many subjects about me, about his sister. About anyone. Ah, should have known ... New Alderaan, actually, you already know how your sister and I have met, one can say we were in diapers together. Well, as you may or may not know, the same thing can be said about Stefanie and Kassidy, and then it was classes for the four of us together, and then one day, Sweet Cheeks - Lindsay - moved there, had a difficult time befriending others, or even some were bullying her because she is Hapan, and then the rest is history, gotta have some secrets between women." Smiling while winking playfully at him, and remembering how all of those meetings, those first times had come about, I still remember Spanky and I just arguing, Which really in our definition is debating between the two of us, and yes arguing with others ... Telling some kids off while Crystal and Stefanie go and speak with Lindsay, who was shy ...
Snapping out of that trip down memory lane, noticing that finally my holocomputer has turned on, I look at the reports with a jaded expression. "Do me a favor, Ryan, nudge me if you can about the time, this is going to be a long day. Thanks, Walking over in his direction and grabbing a handful of his shirt, I lean over to peck his lips softly. And I do love you too, but also if you do need me after whatever you end up talking about with your brother, comm me?" Releasing his shirt and smiling briefly at him, I walk back behind my desk to prepare for what needs to be done for when the lawyers from Honoghr arrive ...

After going through some inspections and indicating that those with myself and Lana are with us, we find ourselves in the turbolift until it opens to my designated floor. Which isn't Lana's floor unfortunately since she is a level above. "Can you please hand this to Crystal when you see her? If she is coming around today, if not just place it on her desk, please? Thanks sweetie." Handing that manila envelop to Lana, which has been given to me at the lobby of the Misty Lodge concerning the account on where the transfers should be effected, I smile gratefully at her and gesture for everyone else to step out of the turbolift.
"Usually you'd have to go through biometrics so that the Intelligence Department can collect your DNA, but today I am cutting some corners, I explain to them quickly as I lead the way towards my office passing the open space that seems to be busy with some lawyers and paralegals alike. Introduction can come later, doesn't matter now or later, whatever ... All you need to know for the time being is that you won't be able to navigate to any other floors unless you are with me, or a select few that can access different floors of this building."
Finally opening the door to my office and removing my trench coat, I look at them thoughtfully. "Before we start, is there anything else you need to do first? Or any questions?" I know that they know me enough that when I am at work, and in my office, I am not that usual person that I am outside of work. I don't play around, and I don't like sugarcoating at all, which is probably the reason why everyone out there usually think of me at that ruthless bitch. I still don't give a damn, not my job to make friends with them. Except for a select few that I have come to appreciate for their hard work and commitment to their job, especially lately with what happened ... Gesturing around to indicate to them that they can be seated wherever they want, I finally look at the stack of files on top of my desk. The biggest one is the reason why the lawyers from Honoghr are here, and others are some misdemeanors that have occurred recently.
Pushing that stack of files at the edge of my desk, most names are visible but that doesn't matter as it is this thick file in front of me that are copies that is the topic currently, but before going into that, I am waiting patiently for any of them to say anything.

"Of course," Lana said as she took the envelop as she inclined her head. She did not say that Crystal had been here this morning, at least not out loud, she was pretty sure that Lily knew that but not an important matter really, as this was just a need to know thing.
Although before separating with the others, since factually Lana's stop was the floor above, she held the turbolift and quickly fished a business card from her purse and a stylus quickly scribbling down her personal comm frequency and personal email address before handing it to Lindsay with a faint grin. "What's at the front isn't important," In a way it wasn't since that was her professional business card, the only one that mattered was her personal info that she had just scribbled. "Whenever you do have a moment, do not hesitate to contact me, so we can meet up, and talk more peacefully." Lana said with a genuine tone, the woman she was after all addressing meant everything to her brother.
"Until next time Lindsay, and everyone else." Grinning and stepping back awaiting for the turbolift to close and take her to her designated floor...

Throughout the whole journey, Mazikeen has been silent, while yes she could talk, she also wasn’t one to talk much unless necessary which was why she had not even retorted back to Nikky back at the spaceport. Only when she had that moment with Stefanie Strange in the room the lawyer was given, and where she straight up declared she was bunking into did Maze actually talk. But that was only she and Stefanie in present company...
Now here Mazikeen was, while she might have looked out of place, she was here because she’d go where Stefanie Strange go without really suffocating her, but she needed to be sure that the lawyer was safe. On the way to here, Maze had pretty much some of Nikky’s slushie without really asking and as she was following Lily throughout the open space of the department, Maze came to a sudden stop upon feeling some eerily familiar.
“Hold this, Skyscraper.” Maze said as she handed back the slushie to Nikky, which she nicknamed that way a while ago due to her height, but that wasn’t the point, the point was… Scanning the open space and tilting her head slightly on the side once her gaze landed onto someone, a woman, her gaze narrowed in the woman’s direction who was there. Not really certain, and not really having a choice but to ask someone else, someone who know potentially know for being close to him too, Mazikeen turned her attention onto Stefanie.
“Can you feel it?” Not explaining further, and not wanting to influence her to begin with, Maze just asked Stefanie if she could feel the same thing she did. A familiar presence, signature.

After the detour she had effected into her office, where she chatted for a few with Lana who had informed Crystal that Elika had invited her this evening at their home, Crystal made her way to the legal department with the food for everyone here thinking that potentially they didn't really have a moment to pause until Lily and Lana took the lawyers here.
Finally exiting the turbolift, Crystal started to walk in Lily's office direction but she noticed some people, and one of those people was Stefanie, was standing right there in the middle.
"Stefanie," Crystal began to say with a dubious expression, as she noticed that she and the woman she was with seemed to be starring at the open space there. Crystal was just wearing a plain corporate suit, that she personalized to her own liking, and of course she was wearing heels, which she knew, and remembered Stefanie hated that from their time together.
Here she was standing currently, no signs that something had actually changed with her, since she made it a mission to always mask in the government building that she was attuned to the Force. Thankfully Atlantis had taught her that, even Ayla. So here she was right now, just as her and carrying a bag that contained food.
"I'm taking this to Lily." She finally finished her sentence when she said Stefanie's name. Walking towards the Attorney General's office and putting the bag on her desk, "Food." Then she looked at the others present here, Lindsay, Kassidy, and potentially Nikky too. "Hi, you lot, so do I get a hug, or we are just going to have that awkward moment that I am actually here despite what has been told to you originally, me being indisposed?" In a way, she could have been but at the same time, she figured she shouldn't stop living her life, and just carry on despite everything...

The ride from the spaceport to the city's government building was mostly uneventful except for some casual small talk and light catching up with Lily, and sometimes Delaana, pointing out a few of Umgul City's landmarks and such. Once inside the complex that housed Umgul's Governmental HQ, and subsequently Lily's office, they were all taking in their surroundings while Lily explained that they would all usually have to go to biometrics for DNA collection by the Intelligence Department but today she was cutting corners due to the circumstances. They wouldn't, however, be able to navigate the building on their own until the procedures were completed. With each of the women nodding their heads in understanding, they followed Lily and Delaana to the turbolift that would take them to floor of the building containing the legal department.
Upon arriving at the floor of the legal department, they all filed out except for Delaana who had remained behind in the cubicle since she apparently needed to go to a different floor to deliver the envelope that Lily had given to her earlier. Pausing a moment to hold the door of the lift, she reached into her purse and brought out a business card to which she wrote her personal comm frequency and email on the back before handing it to Lindsay with a smile, saying that when Lindsay had a moment that she could contact her so they could meet and talk in a more peaceful, quiet setting. Returning the smile, Lindsay nodded her head in agreement as she took the card in hand and tucked it into a pocket on the side of her bag. "Of course! I look forward to being able to talk to you some more....without being grilled by one of them." She stepped back into the lobby nodding toward Lily and Kassidy with an affectionate grin, before looking back and waving goodbye to Delaana as the doors of the lift closed again.
As Stefanie stepped into the lobby she allowed her senses to expand through the Force and was taken aback when she touched upon a faintly familiar aura. Before she could say anything or pinpoint it's source, Mazikeen, who had been mostly silent, was shoving hers and Nikky's shared slushie drink cup into Nikky's hand while muttering to the younger woman. Taken by surprise, Nikky grabbed the cup just in time before Mazikeen completely let go of it. Giving it a quick shake, her lips formed a small frown as she narrowed her eyes at Mazikeen. "Hey! You coulda saved me some, ya slushie hog!"
Arching an amused eyebrow at Nikky's words, Stefanie turned her attention to Mazikeen who had just spoken to her. Momentarily catching her lower lip between her teeth, Stefanie nodded slightly, her eyes following Mazikeen's gaze around the open space until they both were looking in the direction of the same person who was seemingly oblivious to the attention they were garnering. Looking thoughtful for a moment, Stefanie momentarily stood beside Mazikeen, as the rest of the group leisurely walked toward Lily's office, and whispered, "I'll ask Lily and find out who she is later, then maybe we...."
Stefanie's voice trailed off when she heard an oh so familiar voice call her name behind her. Sucking in a deep breath, and exhaling it again softly, she slowly turned around coming face to face with none other than Crystal Kayne. After quickly looking her over from head to toe, Stefanie smiled slightly at the sight of those damn high heels before meeting her gaze.
"Crystal....I see you still have a penchant for painful footwear." Her tone light as she entered Lily's office a few steps behind Crystal, who had made her way over to Lily's desk depositing the bag she held in her hand onto the flat surface explaining that she had brought food. Turning to face the rest of them, Crystal then addressed Lindsay, Kassidy, and even Nikky.
Smiling, Lindsay dropped her bag on the nearest chair and stepped forward wrapping her arms around Crystal's neck. "I've missed you since the last time we talked on holocomm. It's been a while. It's good to see you, my 'nëta."
Lindsay stepped back with bright smile while Kassidy moved to embrace Crystal with a wide grin and a chuckle. "I've missed you too, Kayne. It's been too long. Now gimme some lovin', sweetiebish!"
Next was Nikky, who hesitated a moment, mostly because she didn't actually know Crystal except from that first holocomm. Finally she just gave a slight nonchalant shrug, shoving the empty cup she'd been holding into Mazikeen's hands, and opened her arms with a hearty laugh. "I don't know you except from that holocomm that one time....but I'm not one to refuse a good friendly hug! I'm Nikky Skylander, and it's nice to finally meet you in person."
A moment or two passed after Nikky had received her hug and moved away to stand beside Mazikeen again when Stefanie realized that most of the eyes in the room were fixed on her. Shifting from one foot to the other, she tilted her head slightly to the side as she folded her arms across her chest while studying Crystal's demeanor.
"Are you sure you want a hug from me? You don't have to. I'll understand......." She spoke in a near whispered tone, not wanting Crystal to do something she may not necessarily want to do, in a room full of people, this soon after seeing each other in person for the first time in four years, even if they were once lovers in what now seemed like another lifetime ago.

“And I see you still haven’t gotten over it….” Had been her reply to Stefanie’s statement as they made their way into Lily’s office.
Now that Crystal was here, the anxiety she previously felt had lessened to a big degree especially that she was now amongst close friends of hers, the first one who hugged her. Crystal returned Lindsay’s hug lovingly and affectionately as she moved her hands up beneath Lindsay’s chin just looking at her with a genuine and happy smile. “You look great, and I am happy for you.” Everything in that statement, in her look, said that she had been made aware of the fact that Lindsay, and Delaana’s brother, Nash – the name Lindsay had mentioned from their various holocomm – were together, finally. Winking soon after just before a laughter softly rang past her lips as she heard Kassidy’s statement, Crystal shook her head still laughing and hugged her back.
“I see that Reggie is definitely still rubbing off on you.” Crystal said affectionately as she released Kassidy – Lily’s could have been twin – before looking straight at Nikky with a knowing smile. As she hugged Nikky, Crystal soon released her and looked at her with a warm smile. “Hi, Crystal Kayne, current Chief Financial Officer of Umgul’s government but the most important part, longtime friends with those three.” Officially introducing herself with a knowing smile, as she looked at Nikky and the woman she went to stand next to but before she could ask who the other woman was, her attention was soon diverted towards Stefanie.
“Would it help if I removed these heels, or you are afraid that your foot, this time, might get impaled by one of those?” Crystal said in jest, just to break the ice, but then also, that was all up to Stefanie, and perhaps currently it would be too soon, or whichever, quite honestly Crystal didn’t really want to dwell on that. Therefore, instead of waiting, she just walked over to Stefanie and gave her a friendly and affectionate hug, as she closed her eyes momentarily before finally releasing her.
She didn’t say anything more, and didn’t make any comments but deep down, it felt like a bittersweet reunion for her, and while there were still some issues that were unanswered, at this current moment, Crystal had too much to deal with than to dwell on that. Turning to look at Lily finally, Crystal tilted slightly her head aside looking at her dubiously.
“Did you see Andros walk in recently?” While she knew that, she could find Andros if she really wanted to, if she did that, she’d have to expand her awareness to the Force which would reveal that she was attuned to it, and that wasn’t something she was in a rush to reveal at present company. “Also, tonight, they are coming home with you, with us. Orders, well suggestion, from our favorite architect, party at home tonight,” Focusing her attention onto the present company, “For you to unwind, and just be away from the city, and perhaps,” Looking solely this time at Stefanie, “To talk.” That part said, Crystal focused this time onto Lindsay with a warm grin. “Lana is also going to be there since she is dating our housemate. So, all of you are in?”

Well ... Furrowing my eyebrows perplexedly as I soon notice that Stefanie, and that other chick made a pit stop there at the open space somewhat looking at something, or someone. I wonder what has caused them both to stop, did they recognize someone working here? As I am about to ask that question, I stop then and there and notice Baby Girl stepping out of the turbo lift. Well hey, she's here, with the food she said she'd bring. I bet she is the cause of why I have gone into a sneezing fit earlier. That aside though ... Smiling slightly as I watch her walking into my office depositing the food, I nod in acknowledgement and smile gratefully. "Thanks, Baby Girl..."
Walking around my desk to close the door for now, I turn around watching the happenings currently and laughing knowingly when Crystal states that Sweet Cheeks looks good, great even. "She does look great, I bet it's due to that thing ... Laughing softly and mouthing at Sweet Cheeks 'I know, I can tell' as I am making my way back behind my desk, I finally sit down and look at the rest of the exchange there and particular straight at Stefanie. Make it awkward, why don't you, Strange. God ... Fighting that urge to headdesk, and thankfully I prevent myself from doing that due to Crystal's statement which caused me to laugh and shake my head, I soon look at her when she addresses me. No, I haven't seen Boss Man today, at least not yet, either he is busy doing a certain princess, who happens to be from your current home planet I reply with no filter at all, addressing the ones from Honoghr herewith present or already in his office?"
Shrugging slightly, and leaning back soon enough as Baby Girl mentions that everyone here will be coming home with us tonight, I look at her and incline my head to acquiesce then and there before looking expectantly at everyone awaiting for their replies. If talks are going to happen tonight, I am so going to be needing plenty amounts of alcohol, that much I know, several bombs are going to drop, I can already feel it. Speaking of potential bomb ... "Stef, why'd you stop there?" Nodding towards my door emphasizing her brief stop outside earlier before Crystal walked in, I look at her dubiously.

Moments after the lawyers from Honoghr, accompanied by Ljiljana, and Delaana, Horsea had received an alert from one of her cohorts that the said lawyers had entered the building and didn’t make their way to their department to receive their clearances. The Deputy Director of Intelligence was unfazed and didn’t really question it as after all, they were in the presence of the Attorney General, but what did attract her attention was the other woman that was with them.
Well. . .
After a little research of the said person, Horsea came up with a few things, but primarily apparently, this woman, named Mazikeen, no last name, was a companion of Doctor Samael Canaan, practicing in Honoghr. There were no further details but it looked like she was a bodyguard, and even had ties here planet side. Interesting, but not Horsea’s concern. Her only job was to verify the identity and the ties, and that was it.
Making the trip from the Intelligence Department towards the Legal Department, Horsea was carrying DNAs sample collection kits. Stepping out of the turbolift alone, Horsea made a beeline towards Ljiljana’s office with also a message to the AG from the Mist Order’s Councilor, particularly Ayla since she had been overseeing that side anyways.
Knocking at the door, and waiting to be allowed to enter, Horsea, whose signature was hidden by the crystal in her lightsaber, stepped inside with a friendly expression before closing the door behind her. “Counselor Jankovic, you do remember that there are protocols.” Said Horsea with an amused grin as she looked at everyone present in the office, she inclined her head as a salutation to begin with before adding on. “Horsea Aestrea, Deputy Director of the Intelligence Department. I am here to collect some DNA samples to grant you access to the different floors and facilities in this building.”
With that said, she went to each lawyers, swabbing one of their forefingers, and pricking them with a device, she had been carrying to collect a drop of blood. And then finally she came face to face with Mazikeen, she knew that she had to make a decision then and there, which was why she looked at Stefanie Strange and then back at Mazikeen with a knowing expression. “Mazikeen, right? I am guessing that you’ll go where she goes?” Horsea asked straight to the point before glancing at Counselor Strange. “Or have I assumed wrongly?”
Horsea didn’t really need to collect her DNA sample, plus to be perfectly honest, Mazikeen wasn’t here to represent Andros as his lawyers, but the woman was here to shadow Stefanie, since the lawyer was going to be outfitted with the clearances soon, the moment she uploaded the sample into the system, Horsea wasn’t worried.
Finally, she turned her attention onto Lily and noticed that stack of file at the edge of her desk, and that one name popped up as the name was under MO’s custody. “Liaised with Ayla, and she said that Orion Hunter, while attuned to the Force, had no training or literally no envy to develop his skills besides, and I quote ‘hustling and getting quick cash to get out of this place and move on.’ So unfortunately, it’ll fall into civil suit.”
With that said, and her job effected here, Horsea turned to look at everyone and inclined her head respectfully once again. “Give me a few, and you’ll have your permissions to access most floors of this building, although I still have to wait for the clearance from the Vice Governor concerning his floor.” Smiling, and opening the door to exit the office, Horsea had everything in her possession and finally made her way back to the Intelligence Department. . .

Mazikeen only looked at Nikky when the woman complained about not saving her some. No other outward reaction but just that look, although deep down she was amused. Her attention however returned to the woman there who seemed to be talking to someone. It was peculiar, there was just something about that person, some familiarity but it was so faint also that Maze couldn't be sure at all, which was the reason why she had asked that question to Stefanie.
Walking with her albeit briefly as the dark haired lawyer mentioned that she'd be asking the question to Lily, Maze nodded to indicate that she got it all loud and clear but halted all the same when Stefanie paused as her name had been spoken behind them. Mazikeen turned around and looked at the woman, and inwardly laughed. Well damn. They do look alike.
Samael had mentioned that Crystal Kayne looked just Nancy, Yup, he got that right. Not commenting and keeping her silence as she followed Stefanie right to Lily's office, Maze stayed put and caught the cup that Nikky had handed to her before shoving it back to her when she returned to stand next to her and pointed to the trash can located on her side. "You're closer." Soon enough Maze had to hold herself from laughing when some impaling by heels had been mentioned by the CFO. This definitely gets more and more entertaining...
Before she could carry on with her line of thoughts, that question had been asked on why Stefanie had stopped outside, but the lawyer said she'd ask Lily, and thus Maze let her do the talking assuming that will happen if she got over the shock that not only her ex fiancé did hug her, but she also invited everyone at their home which was why Maze looked at Stefanie with a placid yet dubious expression. That didn't stay on long though as soon enough someone looking important stepped into the office, introducing herself as the DDI and was here to collect some DNA samples, except hers.
Maze blinked once quickly to indicate that she indeed had that right, and just nonchalantly shrugged, after all she also had some business to take care of on this planet...

Soon enough Crystal was standing in front of Stefanie and jokingly asking if it would help if she removed her heels so that Stefanie's foot didn't get impaled this time. Giving a small chuckle, Stefanie gave a slight shake of her head at the memory of actually having the calf of her leg impaled by a high heel in another time and place. It was then that Crystal moved to embrace her with a friendly affection. For a second or two she was surprised by the gesture before sliding her own arms around Crystal's waist and returning the hug.
For one brief moment it was almost like a homecoming. The familiarity of Crystal's touch was still there, as it had been when they were together, but Stefanie realized at that moment that that was all she felt; a warm friendly familiarity with someone she had known since childhood. She no longer felt that deep aching need and longing for Crystal Kayne. Now she had the feeling of a friendship, that had been put on hold for a few years, being rekindled.
She mentally let out a small sigh of relief when they parted and Crystal momentarily turned her attention to Lily before focusing back on the rest of them and inviting all of them to a get together at her's and Lily's residence that evening.
Lily's comment to Lindsay, after Crystal had hugged her, was not lost on the blonde lawyer, as Crystal went on to hug Kassidy and Stefanie before stepping back from them and turning her attention momentarily to Lily. Narrowing her eyes, Lindsay, subtly leaned toward Kassidy with a whisper. "How the hell does she know these things?" Without missing a beat Kassidy wrapped and arm around Lindsays shoulders and whispered back, with an amused smirk. ""Because it's Lily and she has an uncanny ability that I like to call 'sexdar'. She almost always knows when someone has recently gotten frisky with their other half....even if it was on a different planet several sectors away." She explained with a nonchalant wave of her hand toward Lily. Arching and eyebrow, Lindsay eyed Kassidy for a few second but before she could voice her skepticism at Kassidy's explanation, Lily said something that caused them all to pause momentarily after Crystal had asked her if she had seen Andros today.
"Way to go, Ice!" Nikky exclaimed, breaking the silence with her youthful enthusiasm. "I mean, yeah, uhm....I think that was a little more than we were prepared to hear about our esteemed Princess......."
"Esteemed? More like exuberantly horny. Oh what? Don't tell me you weren't thinking almost the same thing. She's getting laid. Good for her."Kassidy mused, with a grin, when Stefanie shot her glare that silently said - "Shut up, Payne!"
Before anyone else could respond, another woman entered the room and introduced herself to the lawyers from Honoghr as Horsea Aestrea, Deputy Director of the Intelligence Department. She went on to inform them of the procedure she would be performing to get their DNA samples that would allow them access to most of floors and facilities of the governmental building they were now standing in. It all went quickly and efficiently as she swabbed a forefinger of one of their hands and collected a drop of blood for the verification of their identities. She paused momentarily when she came to Mazikeen.
Looking over to Stefanie, Horsea guessed, quite correctly, that the mostly silent woman was there to shadow the dark haired lawyer. Stefanie nodded quietly to the Deputy Director, as the woman finished up with her task then began speaking to Lily about a man named Orion Hunter. Stefanie, Lindsay, Kassidy and Nikky exchanged a questioning glance among them, all four thinking that the name sounded familiar, but they didn't voice any concerns just yet because Horsea had turned back to them saying that they would soon have their permissions to access most of the building save the Vice Govenors office. They would have to wait for him to to give the okay for them to have access his floor and office.
That's quite understandable, thank you." Stefanie replied with a slight nod of her head and a smile before turning to Lily to answer her question of why Stefanie had paused in the lobby before entering the office. "I stopped because Mazikeen and I, both, felt a vaguely familiar presence in the vicinity. I couldn't pinpoint who it was coming from, but I think it was the woman standing at the reception desk." She countered while casually folding her arms across her chest, a thoughtful look on her face, and a bit of curiosity in her tone.

Puckering my lips as Spanky nonchalantly waves her hand at her, I keep looking at both her, and Sweet Cheeks, before actually winking at the latter. Still so many things to learn ... I think with an amused smirk on the corner of my lips, although that smirk soon turns into laughter when the Newbie cheers for Ice, which is soon followed by Spanky's statement that doubles my laughter. Ah just like old times, I already know that Baby Girl is glaring at me like Stef just glared at Kase ... Yup.
My attention is soon diverted to the knock on my door and lo' and behold, Horsea is here. "Yes, and I do apologize for cutting some corners there, it was force majeure. I explain, although quite frankly maybe not really, a detour for the lawyers there would have been possible but it's completely the opposite building of this place. And now I know her name, why couldn't just say it before, psh ... Before though I could continue with my line of thoughts, I end up looking at Bolt— Dammit, Jankovic, Bodacious, should be Bodacious, okay no brain don't cooperate then. Stefanie with an arched eyebrow. Then I look at Baby Girl with a dubious expression, wondering what the heck that is all about, but that aside since we are not really in a small committee, and because Horsea is addressing me about a certain someone, I end up taking a deep breath and internally groan. Civil suit, it is then. Thanks ..." I end up saying with another internal groan as I take that particular file and move it to the other pile of cases, however at that moment I am not sure, but I could have sworn there has been some exchanged looks between the lawyers there when that particular name has been mentioned.
"Vaguely familiar presence? Repeating Stefanie's statement and looking at both of the women, I finally stand up from my seat and look at Baby Girl. Did you notice who they were both staring at? I end up asking her as after all they all walked in together. Well do you both want to figure out why that familiar presence or whatever, now, or later?" Either way, I don't really mind to be perfectly honest but if it's bugging them, a few more short minutes to drag this before we can start on why they are here isn't going to kill any of us anyways.
