Denee waved off the apologies, the buzz having made her think less and less of it every moment that passed by. She tilted her head back in relaxation and closed her eyes.
Listening to the bits and pieces of Dee's little monologue made her grin. To have such a youthful outlook; just listening to it was refreshing.
Nkosana, before I came here I was intent on making this work. I knew each of you were the most capable for the job at hand. Having listened to what each of you are bringing with you to this, that certainty is more than set.
She smiled something mischievous.
I probably couldn’t do much worse than what I have now. Probably...
She laughed quietly and gently at her attempt at humor. Her head felt like she was swimming and her voice trailed at the end of each line.
I don’t intend on anyone here getting hurt or killed in this. After today, I feel confident in that ambition.
She slinked down in her seat and crossed her legs, letting her head fall back. She breathed in the incoming evening air.
My saber is yours.
Letting her head fall to the side, she cast an upward glance at Fumnanya.
If you would have me?

Nkosana exhales the last drag of his cigarra as he laughs at Denee's joke, and then tells her in an amused, relaxed tone that suggests he has accepted the mission that they have been coerced into, as well as successfully set aside any lingering resentment for Denee's having been the one to do the coercing, "Yeah, well, if I'm destined to die going up against the First Order in a perfectly insane prison break, I probably couldn't do much worse in terms of the perfectly insane Jedi that will be along for the ride, so, like, right back at'cha."
Fumnanya, a lop-sided grin on his face that denotes the fact that a saucy, flirty reply to Denee's question has occurred to him, manages to resist the urge to twist her question into something other than intended or to point out that she really gave them little to no choice in the matter, replying instead solemnly, though not entirely without a bit of subtle humor, "There's no other Jedi I'd want at my side."
Vejide, wiping an imaginary tear from the corner of her eye, sniffles as she says teasingly, "It's always so touching when that syndrome where captives bond with their captor works out, and then chuckles as she stands up and pats Denee on the shoulder while saying, We can't in good conscience let you fly yourself back from whence you came, having noted that their guest is more than a little inebriated, so you can crash in my room, winking at Dikelide as she tells the Shownarri, Try not to hog all the covers for once."
Nkosana, grinning impishly, tells Vejide, "If you wanna bunk with me instead, I'll promise not to, like, take all the covers."
Rolling her eyes as she starts helping Sango collect the dishes ready to be dealt with, Vejide tells Nkosana, "Keep dreamin'."
Shrugging, Nkosana says, "Worth a shot."
Fumnanya, giving Denee a smile that suggests an apology for his crew's juvenile behavior, asks her, "You ready to call it a night, or should I see if Sango is willing to brew us up some of his famous caf?"

As the crew vied for her attention, and her company, she began to laugh. It started off as a light chortle to herself, but it wound up being a riotous laugh. She unfolded her legs and leaned forward. Had she been sober, she would have taken all the flirtations of the night a little differently. She cast a side glance at Fumnanya and then over to Vejide and Nkosana with a blink.
While I do appreciate the company, I will return to my own quarters, grati.
She wavered slightly as she stood up, took a deep breath, and focused on appearing as sober as possible. The undulating deck under her feet was making it a little more difficult than she had anticipated, and she laughed again, muttering under her breath.
So much for reserving emotion; goddess I'd make for a terrible Jedi master.
She raised a singular hand and waved as she sauntered over to her ship; it was clumsier than she had intended.
Whenever you're ready, you'll see the ship in orbit. First payments will be coming down tonight at midnight zero.
IT was taking every ounce of her focus to maintain appearances. As she fell into the seat, she waved again.
Au revoir
The engines roared to life, and the astromech piloted the ship up and around the chateau on the lake. Denee had already fallen asleep as they blasted off into orbit.

Dee looked mildly disappointed as the Jedi flew off. I didn’t even get a chance to offer my bunk.
Dee, need I remind you that you are- AVI stopped as Dee punched him in the abdomen. It wasn’t hard, and neither one of them were hurt, but Dee raised a hand.
I’ll take some of that Caf, Sango. Spike it a little
Before bed? And should you mix highs with lows?
It’ll be fine. She looked over at Fum and grinned. So, when are we rolling out? We going to stay another day?
Dee kept it to herself, but she wouldn’t mind one more day on the beach. At the very least, waiting to leave until tomorrow afternoon would be alright by her.
AVI pulled himself away from the railing and headed under the Geheim Masjien to watch the lake and observe traffic. He was no longer needed to keep Dee in line and would rather spend his time monitoring markets and the additional incoming credits.

Sango chuckles at the exchange between Dee and AViI, but refrains from adding any personal commentary, instead telling her, "I believe that our captain has a bit of Whyren's Reserve left. I rather think I shall add some to my cup as well," he adds as much to himself as anyone before, after asking whether anyone else will be joining him and Dee for caf, heading off to prepare a pot of caf.
Answering Dee's question about when they will be heading out, Fumnanya says, "We'll stay another day, he looks over at Dikeledi, who is moving inside as she has apparently had her fill of socializing for the evening, as he explains, Dikeledi wants to do some Stormtrooper training for us. How to stand, move and hold our blasters, that kind of thing. Dotting an imaginary I in the air, he chuckles as he says, She insists on crossing and dotting all that needs crossing and dotting."
Vejide, cracking her knuckles with a savage grin, informs Dee in a gleeful tone that may or may not be exaggerated for comedic purposes, "I get to rough Nko up so that he looks like a Jedi that has been captured after a bit of a tussle."
Nkosana, looking less than pleased with the plan, grumbles, "Devil's in the details, and that's another one that our dear Dikeledi insists on."
Fumnanya, clearly not one to argue with Dikeledi where certain things are concerned, shrugs and tells Nkosana apologetically, "She isn't wrong. Be strange if we showed up with a Jedi prisoner that didn't have a mark on him, right? Nodding to thank Sango as he returns and starts passing out the mugs of spiked caf, Fumnanya smiles as he tells Dee, Since you aren't playing a Stormie or a prisoner, you can take the day to relax. Lucky you."

Dee winced as the news of Niko's impending pounding, made her own jaw hurt a little. She made an audible whimper when he agreed to it, even begrudgingly. Dee wondered if it wasn’t insisted on for some ulterior reason and made a mental note to remain on Dikeledi's kinder side.
Unless this was her kind side.
With her drink finished, she pushed off the railing she was so diligently holding up and set the cup on it. Well, then I guess I get to go make plans then!
AVI, from the other side of the ship, requested aloud Keep your comms on this time.
Dee shrunk down and sulked off; a puppy being scolded with tail tucked. It was a posture that didn’t last too long and was gone by the time she reached the ramp to the ship. Before ascending, she waved toward Fumnanya and shouted Thanks for dinner again! I’m going to hit the sack early.
Her intentions appeared obvious, but once she was in her own cabin again, she dug under her bed and pulled out one of her locked cases. Snapping it open, she pulled out an obsidian colored cube and put it on the stand next to her bed. With the case locked back and hidden away, she pulled out some play clothes. Ready and waiting, she spent a few hours laying on her bed browsing the holonet and wasting a little time before nightfall.
Looks like you're ready to go play tonight. Made plans did we?
Dee looked up at her doppelganger and smiled. Yeah! I'm ready to see what you have learned; ready to learn what you know.
De'ath grinned slyly. Bring the cube and some water. I think I figured out how to open it.
Dee turned to grab the cube and ran out of her empty room, snagging a canteen on her way out of the ship, she stuffed both into a shoulder bag and pranced down the ramp and away from the beach house. AVI watched as Dee playfully ran off alone along the beach in the same direction as she seemed to always head off the past few days. Her mind was an enigma to him. Once she out of earshot, he turned once again and scanned the evening horizon.

Returning Dee's wave as she takes her leave, Fumnanya asks the remaining crew rhetorically, "Is it a good sign that we have so many people heading off to bed early, or a sign that we throw a party so dull it lulls people to sleep?"
Vejide, removing her specs and squinting at them as she cleans the lenses with the edge of her shirt, retorts, "Could just be a sign that we have some real party poopers on the crew, captain."
"Or, Nkosana chimes in, we've all had a long day, and are facing the prospect of death at the hands of the First Order. Kinda, like, puts a damper on the partying mood."
Sango, sipping his spiced caf in his usual refined, almost dainty way, moves on from the subject at hand by asking Nkosana, "Shall we deal with your hair and beard tonight, or save that for tomorrow as well?"
Groaning, no more enthusiastic about the idea of having his hair and beard cut and styled so that it is more like something one would expect to see on a Jedi than his personal shaggy style, Nkosana strokes his luxuriantly full beard and replies, "Let's leave it for the morning, after I take my beating."
His crew drifting off to their rooms when they finish their cafs, Fumnanya finds himself the last one outside when they have all gone inside. Walking to the edge of the deck to look out on the white, sandy beach surrounding the lake, pleasantly surprised to find that, overall, he feels at peace with whatever lays ahead for him and his crew. Never having been particularly troubled by what it is that he and his crew do to make their living, Fumnanya wonders if the fact that they are doing something irrefutably good, even if they needed to be coerced into it, makes it easier to accept whatever the future might bring. Shaking his head with a bemused chuckle, reminding himself that they may very well not succeed, or even survive the insane mission that they have been roped into, Fumnanya finishes the last of his spiced caf and heads inside to hit the sack.
The following morning finds the crew gathered around the table while Sango lays out a virtual feast of a breakfast, as much to fortify them all for the full day of work that is planned as to make their last breakfast on Osarian an enjoyable, pleasant one. Looking around after noting that Dee and AVI have yet to join them, Nkosana asks, "Should we, like, go and wake Dee up, and invite AVI to join us?"
Shaking his head, Fumnanya says, "Let her sleep it in. AVI will want to stick close to her, so there's probably no sense disturbing him either, grinning as he suggests, And let's try to leave at least some of the breakfast for her guys."

AVI walked around the ship, finally moving from the post he had remained at as he watched the horizon for nothing in particular. His mind, as it were, was off elsewhere probing the markets and exploring the galaxy. Having a physical form was freedom, but being able to detach and travel the holonet was even more so.
He had overheard the conversation, and he took a post behind Niko.
She ran off down the beach last night, and she didn’t come back. I guess she is off doing her own thing and playing on the planet a little more. She has taken a liking to being planeside, though I would akin it to Stockholm syndrome.
Dee slowly opened her eyes and sat up stretching. The meadow she had fallen asleep in was still overturned from her earlier romp in the grass, but there was enough to be still soft and cushiony. To her side, her doppelganger sat cross-legged with the cube in her hands. She was glaring at it, but there as a grin peering through the intensity. I got it.
Really? Dee said with a groan as she rubbed her eyes, blinking in the morning light.
Yeah, watch. As De'ath pulled her hands away from the cube, it hovered motionlessly. No longer bound by her hands, the cube spun on its axis ninety degrees and stopped., then on another axis one hundred and eighty degrees. With a start, it opened up along previously invisible seams to reveal a blue, glowing crystal structure. The two women looked at it and then to one another.
Now what?
It’s open, but we don’t have an interface to read its contents.
What are the contents?
De'ath laughed and grabbed the cube as it snapped shut. Whatever knowledge that was in that temple that is now a glass crater. Could be anything. Could be nothing. It was an interesting puzzle to solve.
So how do we find out what’s inside? What would interface to it to read it?
De'ath jumped up and helped Dees up, handing her the cube. Probably that Jedi that you were talking about. She would know, or she would have the device to read it.
Dee looked at the box and rotated it in her hands, looking at the faces. They were identical to one another, with no indication that it contained anything but mass. Think it would have secrets to help me get home?
De'ath grabbed Dee's head and kissed her forehead. Probably, maybe not.
Looking around, her doppelganger was gone again. The entire night had been spent exercising, training, meditating, and more exercising. She wasn’t sure what time she had finally gone to sleep. Grabbing her canteen, she drank the remaining contents and wiped her mouth on with her sleeve. A small snack was all she needed to get by, and she stuffed the cube, canteen, and protein bar wrapper in the bag and headed out of the glade.
Back out on the beach, she took in the morning air and decided to go for a swim. Tossing the bag and her clothes on a rock, she sprinted into the water and dove under the water.

Chuckling as AVI voices his thoughts about the nature of Dee's affections for being planet side, Nkosana jokes, "Like, let's hope that syndrome isn't catching, and when greeted by blank looks from Fumnanya and Vejide, explains, Like, let's hope we aren't all buddy buddy with the Jedi that has roped us into the madness we're about to gallivant off into if we are lucky enough to make it out alive?"
Nodding with a shrug, Fumnanya says, "Right, that. Somehow I don't think that will be a problem, so save your mental energy for the getting out alive part."
Grinning mischievously, Vejide says, "Aw, I don't know, she doesn't seem all that bad," and then deftly ducks to dodge the slice of buttered toast that Nkosana flings at her head.
After breakfast has been finished, with Sango setting a plate aside in the event Dee returns and is feeling hungry, Vejide and a decidedly nervous looking Nkosana head outside so that his beat down can commence in relative privacy. Dikeledi and Fumnanya head outside so that she can begin his instruction about proper Stormtrooper behavior, planning to have Vejide join them after Nkosana's beating has been completed.
As he is laying out the medical supplies he anticipates he will need for when Nkosana returns, Sango asks AVI, "What do you think, or calculate if that is more accurate, the odds are for completing our impending mission successfully and without casualties or complications? I imagine, he explains, even if we do succeed, we will need to prepared for some degree of repercussion, unless the ruse we'll be employing to gain access to the facility is enough to obscure our identities entirely."

AVI nodded at Niko's hopeful statement. While he felt the stability was nice, being in one place for very long had its effects. Giving the current company, those effects could go sour for them all if left unmonitored.
His opinion on the Jedi was indifferent by this point. While he understood the situation, they were in was less than optimal, the situations they had been in previously had good odds but went sour fast. It was the one in a million odds that caught them. That being an over exaggeration, it was closer to one in a hundred at best considering their line of work.
AVI watched as the crew went about their morning tasks, turning to face Sango as he inquiries about their odds.
I have run a fair number of simulations on the scenario before us. From what I was able to pull off our Jedi acquaintance’s servers, they are as prepared for this as any organization can be. Taking into consideration the little I know of Dikeledi and having watched all of you, I feel our odds for success further increase. From what I have calculated, the odds this mission goes off completely without a hitch are low; one in twenty-seven or thereabouts — the odds we all make it out alive with limited injuries much better. The chances of success with no casualties at all are similar to the odds of us making it out without a single alarm going off.
AVI watched Sango prepare as he continued.
I fully believe the Jedi intends on dropping the mountain on the prison facility when we leave. As long as everyone can run to the shuttle, Dee only needs a few moments to calculate our hyperspace route and input the routing. We can jump as soon as those numbers are in regardless of atmospheric conditions. Worst case scenario, we bug out as soon as the doors close.
If we make it out undetected, we can casually make our way out. But from what I was able to probe, if we can make it back to their base, there is sufficient ground-based anti-capital weaponry to protect us from any would-be pursuants. Besides, we would easily get there hours or even a day before they find us. There would be more than enough time to get our rewards, get patched up, eat, drink, and Gee Tee Eff Oh.
AVI paused for a moment, letting his words settle in.
There is also a scenario where, once we are inside, we whip out the big guns and eliminate all hostiles before they hear the first shots go off. The odds are good that no one on our roster gets mortally wounded. Though there was the one outcome where they find a way to drop the mountain on us and everyone dies.

By the time AVI has finished laying out the possible scenarios he has determined lay ahead for the crew, Sango has finished laying out his medical supplies and moved on to laying out what appears to be, and indeed are, barbering supplies. Grinning as he finishes his preparations for tending to Nkosana's injuries and giving him a hair cut and beard trimming to give him an appearance more like that of a Jedi than that of a high functioning addict, Sango jokes, "Ah, well, let us hope, then, that that last outcome was among the less probable, and then chuckles as he sits down and fussily arranges and rearranges the scissors, trimming scissors and thinning shears on the table and says, with as much hope as reassurance from what AVI had said, I must admit that I rather thought the overall outlook was a bit more bleak than your analysis seems to have determined, so thank you for that. Moving on to what he hopes is a more pleasant topic, the Bothan asks, How near to your financial requirements will the payout bring you and Dee? Lifting a furry hand he laughs and adds with a laugh, Not that I am hoping you'll be able to leave us so soon, of course, and then frowns as he realizes that his comment might be taken the wrong way, quickly adding, Though, naturally, I do hope that you and Dee achieve your goal as soon as possible."
Not long after Sango has finished his somewhat fumbling question, Nkosana enters the kitchen, clutching his side with one arm and holding his bloody nose with the hand of the other. Voice a bit stuffy, Nkosana drops into a chair and announces sulkily, "For a fake beating, I sure feel pretty beat up. Accepting the sterile cloth that Sango hands him and gingerly dabbing at his nose, Nkosana tries to sound more amused than he actually is as he says, Like, at least it'll be convincing," and then swallows the pain pill Sango gives him before beginning to check over his injuries and administering any needed care.
