And right there all screeched to full stop. While the ship sat still frozen momentarily in animated suspension a tumultuous wrestling match ensued over who exactly was in control of posting these… posts. Ciarán and Laoch, strong they may well have been, were no match for a psychotic little girl with a massive dog, some freakish bimbo with a crow on her shoulder and a former bouncer. Dominance asserted the ship cut a hairpin turn from hyperspace into Corruscant orbit

A ship bursts into hyperspace and smokes down the hyperspace highway to hell

The flight from Corellia was going to be a short one before the quick refueling stop. James had made his way to his personal cabin and was beginning to make himself more at home.
A cup of hot tea sat beside his holopad, where he was quickly reviewing the purchasing options available to him. His proxies were hard at work negotiating prices down on locations, facilities, and equipment. Additional resources were being directed at acquisition of a dedicated workforce as well.
He looked over at the clock. They would be exiting hyperspace any moment now.

The corvette had successfully dodged the larger Imperial cruiser. A collective cheer went up from the crew as they raced away, leaving the Imperials scrambling to turn their ship around. Roark punched in the coordinates for Duro. They were limping, as their hyperdrive had been damaged by the Imperial ship. They would stop there before flying to Corellia. Yet even while the ship jumped to hyperspace, and the crew cheered around him, he was worried. Worried that the enemy ship would follow him... Orbit of Duro
Having set its destination to Duro, the Vindicator-cruiser Wisp went straight into Hyperspace the moment they left the gravity wells around the dockyards of Rendili. Being so far certain, that they had lost the trail of the pirate vessel, Jenia began to wonder whether there was still a chance to predict from where the Crusader-corvette would leave the system in order to reach another destination within Imperial space - just to witness moments later that the ship sensors have detected the very same ship, they hunted within the orbit of Duro, the polluted planet of the Duros.
"Well, I admit I'm quite impressed about you predicting their movements, Rear Admiral", a surprised Harris Wendel replied more than confident, "I guess we have them now."
"Careful, Captain Wendel, we might have the upper hand, but they know our weak spots and that we are prepared for them utilizing them", Jenia concluded, while wondering what the next move of the pirates would be,"We keep them under Turbo-laser fire as by routine, but keep the Ion cannons shut until they come in range again. We'll go on broadside the moment they turn around in order to prevent them from flying underside again, otherwise persue target as before. I rather keep them in circle as we have more firepower than them." "And with the Ion cannons perfectly timed, we might get a chance to shut down their shields, madame", Wendel replied impressed, "I'll guess we're pretty much clear." Once orders were given, Jenia shook however her head while looking towards the captain. "If we're talking about the Alliance and regular marauders, I would agree with you, Captain", were Jenia's only thoughts, which she spoke out loud, "However, these are pirates - they only care for their lives and their captured cargo, thus they'll try to obtain as much distance from us as possible. All we can hope for is a lucky hit from the front towers at their heck and thus hopefully their engines. On the long run, they will sadly escape, as we lack an Immobilizer." "So you're hoping that you're wrong with presuming that they will try to escape from the Wisp and rather focus on defense, should they be bold enough to engage our cruiser directly - like you were wrong with them making the Hyperjump to Corellia?" "Exactly, Captain." Again Harris Wendel found his smile, as he began to understand, why the Rear Admiral was planning for the unlikely case to happen. He knew as much as Kasalle, that the Vindicator-cruiser wasn't fast enough to catch up with the Equinox on a long-time race. He also knew that Duro was the last straw they had in catching up with the pirates, as otherwise they'll flee to Corellia most likely. They had already entered the Corellian trade route and thus could only hope to catch the Crusader-corvette right within this place in order to bring them to justice - otherwise it was likely that they would lose its trail. Thus preparing for any unlikely situation increased their chances heavily in succeeding with their mission nontheless. It was so brilliant, that Wendel hardly could see a weak spot within these calculations.

The Equinox fell out of hyperspace above Corellia, and immediately noticed quite a problem. There was a fleet protecting the planet. However, this could work to their advantage. Roark pulled he communications headset off the dashboard and put it on. He took a breath before hailing the ship.“Corellian Defense Force ship Eurybia, this is corvette Equinox requesting permission to dock at the CEC shipyards. Our ship is in dire need of repairs and we were attacked by a First Order Cruiser, which may be in pursuit.” Orbit of Duro
It wasn't all too much a surprise for Jenia Kasalle, when the Equinox left the system just the very moment when the Vindicator-cruiser was nearly in range to target it down. She admitted to herself that any other move of the ship's captain would have surprised her. Although feeling terrible for having a pirate allowed to escape with valuable cargo and the murder upon five Imperial citizens, she nontheless said herself that she had done her best to punish these savage murderers. Now that they have managed to get away, they were even more interesting for the Rear Admiral in terms of researches. "Set course back to Rendili in order to inform the harbour command of the outcome before we will reunite with the fleet at Kuat", Kasalle then commanded in a neutral tone of voice towards Captain Wendel, who probably just realized, that the outcome of the hunt wasn't as pleasant as he initially had hoped it to be. Especially in light of his earlier statements. "Madame, I actually wish to apologize to you for my statement upon escort missions",the half-bald man only brought out, although nodding, "I do, however, see the need now, as we clearly underestimated a single group of pirates. I thus have to admit, that I was arrogant and foolish within my previous opinions." Remaining so far stern, as the crew recieved her command and set course to Rendili, Jenia barely moved her head to look Captain Wendel somewhat thankful into the eyes. "Remember always, Captain Wendel, that it is a privilege to serve the First Order as we have the methods to make this galaxy a better place", she answered friendly, "Thus we are in a position where we have the right to feel superior towards the threats endangering said galaxy. However, we should never make the mistake to trust in our superiority. Imperial history has taught us the greatest moments of the Galactic Empire, but as well its greatest failures despite our technological advantage. You have learnt your lesson today, Captain Wendel, and that is what I expect from all of my officers. To never underestimate a foe, no matter how vulnerable and small he might look like. We can only utilize our superior position, if we are aware of our own weaknesses. Only then we can succeed." Somewhat grateful and more than fascinated, the Imperial captain nodded, being relieved that Kasalle was apperently forgiving him. Even within this brief moment, Jenia could see the deep respect, which Wendel Harris held now for her. "With that being said, the bridge of the Wisp is now yours to command, Captain", she added then briefly, "For the moment I will take some rest until we arrive at Kuat." "Aye, madame. A trooper will escort you to the guest quarters."
Although Jenia probably would have known herself the way, she nontheless was thankful for the small escort, she was provided with. Seemingly expressionless with his helmet the trooper guided her through the ship for a brief while until they reached the cabins, which were always kept prepared for high ranked visitors on board of the Vindicator-cruiser. They were not all too large, but nontheless fulfilled their purpose for the meanwhile. Jenia thanked the guard briefly, before she entered her new quarters and sat down upon the bed. Before she went to sleep though, she knew already what to do next.
Whoever navigated this corvette and orchestrated the heist knew the First Order, not only from the military side as most opponent forces of the First Order did, but as well on civil side. After having read the report, Jenia had noticed that these pirates did not only knew how to open up the truck and how to take out the heavily armed security guards, but also, that they had known to where the cargo would be delivered. Tibanna gas being driven off to a train station, which would then arrive at an Imperial weapon facility - this information was not necessarily public knowledge. Thus making it likely that at least one of the men served within the Imperial army at some point. She had already made the decision, that once the recruiting on Kuat was finished, she would contact Intel. If anyone would know the potential identity of an ex-Imperial, then it was the Imperial Intelligence service.
Being glad, that she still had a straw within her hand to continiue the chase nontheless, Rear Admiral Kasalle smiled briefly before she fell asleep for a short duration of time.

Entering hypersace Monic asked herself "WTF am I doing? Self repied "Just act like you know what you're we're doing and nobody will care." The woman mumbled -Tombstone- <<Right....>> Meanwhile Halder was stuffed into a escape shoot and fired into empty space. Kannue held his head down a long moment . After years of knowing a man this was final. Final in a way that Kannue wished none had to understand yet knowing full well in the end all would. At long last Kannue looked up nodding -Captain Kannue- "That's that gentlemen...." A stiff glass of brandy was handed to all men present. Kannue thought hard for words but discarded an sorry attempt at producing something profound and simply raising his glass -Kannue- "To the captain!" The group was silent but all followed suit and lifted their drinks. Kannue downed his shot as did the rest. Setting the glass down Kannue turned and walked away

A shuttle ripped along through hyperspace

As soon as the Pirate shuttle was safely in hyperspace Brock made his way back to the passenger section of the shuttle where the Sith agent sat. With barely a glance toward either Panno or Faina Delvardus and with fire in his brown eyes he stood before the agent and began to demand answers. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't space you right now? There is no good reason we had to come and risk our lives just to save scum like you. He practically spat the words, unable to keep himself professionally calm any longer. The mission was done. They had done their duty, and now he needed to address the glaring problem in their midst. He knew and trusted both of the Imperial Knights with him more than any others in the order, Faina especially, but even their more temperate presences couldn't contain his frustration any longer. He had no intention to actually toss the man out the airlock, they were tasked to bring him back with them, but he was damned if he was just going to do it quietly like an obedient pet. He had a moral duty as an Imperial Knight to make sure what they were doing was in the best interest of the Empire and the Emperor.

Seated in the passenger bay of the shuttle, Avernus Maric, the Pau'an male that was under the employ of both ISB and Sith'ari Savage, watched as the Knight that has aided in his escape from Drall, approached and began demanding answers. Closing his eyes and smirking at the sudden demand, he inhaled and exhaled slowly. Upon opening his eyes, the Pau'an male rose from the seat and grinned, feeling the Knight's anger and frustration reach a boiling point. He'd enjoy this. Now that the immediate danger of being recaptured or executed was gone, he could revert back to his more natural ways of handling situations like these. Still sporting his smirk, the Sith spoke.
"There is no need for such petty insults, my dear Knight. You were doing your duty, and I was doing mine. That is all you really need to know. My work for ISB is all highly classified...not that I would share anything with you if it wasn't..." The Pau'an male chuckled softly as he toyed with the Knight."Such anger towards me. It's almost as if you don't trust me...not that it matters. Regardless of your opinions of me, we are on the same side. For now. Those answers will have to be sufficient enough for now..."
The Pau'an male, grinning at this point, reached up and grabbed one of the hand holds, while staring down the Imperial Knight before him...

As if a switch had been turned in his head Brock grew instantly still. He may have been one of the more brash members of his orders but he could tell when he was being goaded. Drawing on very old teachings he had learned as a Jedi years ago he detached himself from his feelings and looked over the arrogant agent. He was clearly full of himself and more importantly enjoying himself and Brock wasn't about to play along with the sith's game. As much as he wanted to wipe that smug arrogant smile from the man's face he wasn't about the cause an incident. He stepped around the man, deciding to just ignore him as he stands up straight and addresses Faina for the first time, his voice now utterly calm and devoid of the emotion he was fighting down inside of himself. Our fuel readings look good, we should have more than enough to make it to back to Muunilinst.

Noticing that the man was now actively calming himself down to try and avoid a confrontation with him, the Sith's smile broadens. No, he was going to get under his skin, one way or another. He was determined now. Turning to face the man, he barked out at him.
"What's wrong, little Jedi? Don't like the fact that I am more than capable of getting under your skin? Perhaps I should tell you about my previous assignment...where I was ordered to slaughter an entire orphanage and how I took a particular delight in killing the inhabitants...or how about the time that I hunted down and assassinated a fellow Knight? That one was quite enjoyable. Screaming about loyalty and honor...he died...begging me to spare his pitiful life...I particularly enjoyed that one..."
The Pau'an Sith grinned malevolently as his dark side tainted eyes bored into the Imperial Knight he was now goading...

Brock completely ignored the barb about being a Jedi. He had left that part of him behind but he felt no shame for his past. He was glad for the lessons he had learned from them, even if his life had gone down another path. The second part however was another story. A tale of the slaughter of children wasn't something he could easily ignore. It was one thing to work with sith who's deeds were suspect, but honor demanded more when when a creature like this casually mention his deeds to the world like his was untouchable. No more, he would not sit back and watch Sith get away with literal child slaughter. With a deep calm breath and then an almost apologetic look to Faina Brock springs into motion. With force assisted speed and the element of surprise he turned in one smooth motion, igniting the gold blade of the lightsaber he had created as a Jedi and removed the head of the smug sith. As the crag faced Pau'an's head fell to the floor and his lean body began to collapse Brock finished his spin facing Faina once again. Deactivating his saber and pulling the Imperial Knight saber from his belt he offers both forward to the Grandmaster. It had to be done, and I will accept whatever consequences there are to face. His voice and presence in the force gave off a feel of calm resolve rather than anger. For the first time since returning from the outer rim he felt like he had done something absolutely good for the galaxy. He had removed the blight that the sith represented both on the First Order and the galaxy at large. If he was to be punished for it, then so be it, he would face it with the absolute certainty that he had done what needed to be done. He didn't envy his friend the headache he had just laid before her but he could not in good conscious have done anything else.

Sensing the discomfort that Brock had been in since arriving on the ship he had hoped that the two would have stayed apart. Indeed he had wanted to get some time alone with the man to pitch an idea to him. They had in their hands an Imperial agent and a Sith. This man would have known many secrets, and after his talk with the Knight of Ren the next obvious group to harm the Empire would be a Sith. Between the three masters on the ship they might have been able to get some information out of the man. Seeing as Brock instead preferred to stay around the Sith, or maybe the other way around he had also elected to hang around the edges of them.
That all went out the window with the swing of a lightsaber.
Brock what the fuck! Did you ever think that maybe he was goading you, trying to make you do just that.

When she thinks back on it later, Faina will feel guilty that her long relationship with Brock did not enable her to forsee that the calm she felt come over him in the moment before he killed the Imperial agent they had succeeded in extracting was a warning sign that she ignored; for if anyone could know that, for Brock, calm was not always a guarantee that he would act intelligently, she could and should have.
Closing her eyes, jaw clenched as she irritably motions with her hand to reject, if only for now, the lightsaber hilts that Brock offers to surrender to her, Faina says in a voice more disappointed than angry given that she does not mourn the loss of the foolish Sith that all but knowingly committed suicide by Imperial Knight, "Damn it, Brock." Were she and Brock alone, Faina knows deep down that, due to her deep and abiding friendship for Brock even after his lack of control has put her in the position she finds herself in now, she would tarnish her honor and lie, spin a tale about the intelligence agent dying during the operation, but Panno's presence takes that option off of the table; while she would lie for Brock, she cannot ask Panno to do the same and so must face the consequences that her ineffectiveness as a leader will invite - for Brock's actions reflect on her as much as they do on him, as they should, for if she had instilled the proper discipline in Brock he would not have dared to so flagrantly disobey their orders to bring the intelligence agent, Sith or not, back alive.
Sighing, Faina shakes her head, telling Brock in a resigned and suddenly exceptionally weary tone, "Just go and pilot the ship," and cannot even look at him as she walks past him and the decapitated body of the intelligence agent that may very well represent the end of her tenure as Grandmaster of the Imperial Knights. Once alone in the passenger bay of the shuttle, Faina drops heavily into a seat and covers her face with her hands as she begins thinking of how to report what has transpired to the Emperor so that it is clear that she feels the ultimate responsibility for the failure of their mission lays with her.

"Machine elf dancing on my head? Dikeledi, turning around to watch Dee head away from the cockpit, asks Fumnanya in a perplexed tone, What is that? Some kind of slang? Reaching up and patting her hair, she asks, Wait, is there something in my hair?"
Shaking his head with a laugh despite the fact that he is looking in the direction Dee had gone with a concerned expression, Fumnanya says, "Your hair is fine, and then moves to the pilot's seat and says, I can take over if you want to go and get some rest or make sure Vejide hasn't killed our doctor."
Snorting a laugh, Dikeledi asks, "What's the plan once we get to Osarian?"
Shrugging as he rubs the back of his neck, Fumnanya says, "Not sure. I thought I'd use some of the hyperspace trip to see if I can't find someplace to rent, something away from the main cities where we can just . . ."
"Chill? Sounds great. We could all probably use it after today. Standing up and stretching, Dikeledi says, Come and wake me if you get tired," and then heads for her cabin.
Fumnanya watches the shifting, swirling blues of the hyperspace tunnel in silence for a moment, and then takes his datapad out to start doing some research on rental properties on Osarian.
The Geheim Masjien continues on through hyperspace for its destination. . . .

Brock feels an odd sense of numbness as he attaches to lightsabers to the belt of his Jedi Disguise. He doesn't even really hear Panno as Faina's simple words and feelings through the force cut him like a knife. He isn't sorry for what he did. Had the Sith lived, despite his crimes he would have been returned to his order without punishment. He knew he had been goaded, but he also suspected that the Sith hadn't expected to die. He was trying to prove his superiority by saying his crimes out loud, thinking himself untouchable, and if they had made it back to Muunilinst that would likely have been true. All of those factors combined into one moment where he had made a conscious decision to kill the man for his crimes. It was a calculation he would feel sorry for. At the same time he deeply regretted the position he had put Faina in. Unable to express any of his feelings he kept his eyes on the deck and numbly made his way back to the cockpit where he continued the journey back to the Imperial Capital in silence.
