*Aerandir had figured it would have been a good idea to visit Coruscant's archives, to compare data with that gathered at Felucia, and to hopefully have some useful data he could update the Felucia archives with. Sure, normally that information came from other sources, but sometimes there was a delay; if there was anything new gathered at the archives here, he could get the information to Felucia before it would normally arrive.
Of course, Cassie joined him. For one, neither wanted to leave her alone in this facility that was unknown to her. That, and she wanted to see some of the sights of the Temple anyway. The two moved through the halls, approaching the archives, when Aerandir spotted two people leaving the archives. Both seemed vaguely familiar somehow. The man, he wasn't exactly sure how he recognized him, but the woman... that was right. Her Master had recently passed. A terrible fate, that had been. At the very least, while they were approaching each other, he could offer his condolences.* Padawan Vera, is it? I'm Aerandir Calmcacil. I just wanted to extend my condolences for learning of your Master's demise. He truly was a great Jedi. *He regarded the male Jedi with a nod. He knew he'd seen the man before, but most likely had never interacted with him. Cassie stood silently beside Aerandir, seeming mildly shocked to learn of another Jedi death, but otherwise making no reaction.*

Isabo was following Nemo out when another approached, she felt him looking at her and she raised her eyes to meet his. His gaze was sympathetic and she knew before he even said it that he knew of her and her Master's murder. Stopping she listened as he spoke, his words of little comfort to her, but appreciated none the less. She nodded slowly, a sad smile flitting over her lips.
"He was. Thank you for your kind words."
She looked to Nemo, wondering what he would say, or how he would react to this other Jedi.

Nemo stopped as Isabo was approached by Master Calmcacil, a member of the Jedi council and renowned Jedi from the Felucian Temple. Nemo remembered seeing him at the rather large meeting on Tython a while ago, they had not interacted to his knowledge. Nemo was unsure if his fellow Jedi Master knew who he was, not the best time for an introduction when one is in a hurry.
"Thank you Master Calmcacil for your kind words. I am Master Nemo, I do not believe we have met. I am attempting to guide Isabo here through this difficult time and perhaps seek answers in the case of her Master's death."
Nemo stood to the side of Aerandir, on the opposite side from Cassie.

*Nemo, of course. He knew the name. He'd been a visitor to Felucia at one point, but Aerandir hadn't actually met him. That was good to know. Though as far as his words regarding becoming a companion to Isabo—Aerandir assumed that was her first name—Aerandir had to take notice of Nemo's title again: Master. Curious. Aerandir tilted his head to one side.* Do you have any experience with taking on Padawans, Master Nemo? *It was a question of mere curiosity rather than than doubt.*

He said knowing full well that they did but glossing over the very real possibility that they were all dead. His feelings on the matter were not important, they were gone and now he had more important things to be getting on with.
"May I ask how your daughter is getting along with her training?" He said cracking a smile for once.

*Aerandir's eyebrows subtly flickered upward upon the revelation that Nemo had trained two Padawans to Knighthood already, both of which may have already had Padawans of their own. Very interesting. Aerandir's eyes discreetly studied Isabo for a moment before his focus was returned to Nemo, who asked him about his daughter's training with a smile. As thoughts of Morgan filled his mind, a smile met his own face as well.* Very well, actually. She tends to spend most of her time in the jungle, where she puts her skills to use. Most recently she'd been conditioning her body for better mobility and balance, and has been quite impressive at it. I'm definitely proud of her progress. *Aerandir was then silent for a moment, his smile slowly fading while he mulled over his thoughts. Then he spoke again.* I don't mean to change the subject, but... you seem experienced and trustworthy. Have you considered taking on Padawan Vera yourself to complete her training?

Nemo was almost taken aback by the question. With all this information on the death of his friend and his rush to find answers he had forgotten about the remainder of Isabo's training. His face seemed quite annoyed, annoyed that he had not thought of this himself but also the relative pace of the process.
"I must confess that I had not thought of that myself. Is it possible to arrange at such short notice? We have somewhere to be shortly."

*Aerandir could see the man's annoyance on his countenance, though sensed it was not at him. Perhaps he was annoyed at himself? Nemo then admitted it was something he hadn't thought of; perhaps that was it, then. He did seem to have concerns about how time-consuming the process might be, to which Aerandir smiled and shrugged.* Look, as far as I'm concerned, if a Master or Knight wishes to take on a Padawan, they may do so. They don't need the Council's blessing. Scandalous, I know, coming from a member of the High Council, but I personally feel that, except under "unique" circumstances, who takes whom on as a Padawan is none of our business. I mean it's nice to know who's apprenticed to whom, just for the sake of knowledge, but never mind me, I'm just rambling. You at least have my blessing, and I can assure you you'll have the rest of the Council's blessing as well. *He stepped to the side, as though to get out of their way, Cassie also stepping to the side, having remained silent and observant this whole time. He then bowed to the pair, Cassie following his example.* May the Force be with you.

Nemo nodded to the Council Member as he left, pleased that the council was taking a backseat when it came to the personal lives of the Order's members. He smiled to himself, what more efficient way of securing Isabo's services than to have her as a padawan learner. It made sense to him, despite he mis-givings about taking on an apprentice soon soon after, the mission on Ziost. He turned to Isabo and spoke quickly before briskly walking towards the hanger bays.
"It is definitely time to leave now, my apprentice."

Bo was a bit taken aback when the High Councilor suggested Nemo take her on as a apprentice, she knew she needed a new master but she hadn't actually come to terms with receiving one. Now this man she just met was to be him? She felt annoyance and apprehension fill her, yet she pushed them down...at least this man claimed to know Lorne, that was perhaps a sign he would be as good of a master as he had been.
She nodded to the councilor as he spoke and walked off, her eyes turning to her new Master, wide and slightly wary. He spoke of leaving and with I sigh she agreed, following him out of the archives

Our patience was rewarded before much time elapsed. An attendant of some sort-- not a Forceful, surprisingly-- came into our presence at the Main Entrance. He requested that we state our business, to which I spoke up without pretense.
"We are here to perform a minor amount of research in the Jedi Archives."
"Oh, very good, very good sir. Temple regulations require you to forfeit any weapons on your person before entering the public areas."
If you know me, you know that that won't be happening. "Well, of course. But it turns out we aren't carrying any weapons." The man smiled disarmingly. "You understand that I will need to perform a body scan. Temple regulations."
"I'm sorry?"
"A body scan, sir."
"But..." I turned to look at Aire, feigning confusion. "...you already scanned us, and said that we passed."
Now it was the man's turn to be confused. "What? No, I...no I didn't, did I?"
I raised my eyebrows and nodded at him gravely. "Yes, you just had us scanned."
He had just such a sad expression on that I feel a little bad about using Mind Control to make him verbally agree. But I did it subtly. The man experiences one of those out-of-body moments, you know? The kind where you hear yourself talking but you almost don't feel like you are the one doing it. It's surreal. The last time I had a headcold I felt that way; climbing up stairs, even, it felt like I wasn't the one who was making my legs go. But when I control this man, I do it so gently that he gets this same feeling. Well, it's also preying on that moment of confusion.
"Oh...I guess I did. I'm sorry, it's just been such a long day..."
"I understand, sir. Perhaps you ought to get some rest as soon as your shift ends." This is the thing called choice-supportive bias that takes over where I leave off-- where, rather than disagree with what he just said in front of a total stranger, he's instead reflecting on his own day so far and looking at all the evidence in support of the fact that he is, after all, tired. He realizes that, yeah, a nap would be pretty sweet. He nods, and waves us through into the Temple campus.
"Thank you for your compliance, and best of luck on your research."
We make our way into the Temple without further ado. It is only a few minutes of silence before we eventually stride into the Archives and set about immediately to discover anything that the Jedi have on the topic of interest. Dimension Shift.
A simple topic search into the digital catalog of the Archives brings up a whole host of restricted-access materials, which is somewhat frustrating. The only mention of the power in open-access sections is anecdotal, simply giving a description of it and mentioning that Leia Solo was able to use it to escape from prison. Presumably, the other accounts in the restricted section are the exact details of how to use it. Well...
We'll see just what is restricted, won't we?
I head to the shelves and pick out a random holobook from one of the Stacks. In the meantime, Aire is still searching through the datacomputers for progressively more obscure ways of stating "Dimension Shift". I place my book in front of me-- a treatise on the rise in prominence of the Dark Jedi represented by the defection of Alysun Celz from the pre-Empire days of the Jedi. But not a word of the work passes from the screen into my mind: I am meditating. Meditating to use Force Sight, so that I might discover the location of the restricted section of the Archives, and so that I might read what I am not meant to.
Aire has just typed in the search term, "phase modification" and is scanning over the results.
Locating the holobook on the shelf is a tedious task, save that the Jedi are meticulous and efficient in their cataloging techniques. A mere twenty minute survey of the Stacks has opened the door for me to remotely view it thanks to Force Sight.
What I find, as I sweep through the digitized contents, is more anecdotes. "In addition to Force Travel, Jorj Car'das was able to use Dimension Shift to move other objects instead of himself." "Leia Solo escaped prison by using Dimension Shift to shift the bars into another dimension. She described the experience as 'transcendental'." "Plett was able to use Dimension Shift to give himself more space in his cupboards." Are you serious? This is worthless!
Aire's most recent search phrase is, "plane move".
Another fifteen minutes and our search is cut short by the announcement that the Archives, and the Jedi Temple at large, will be closing in a few minutes, so could we please wrap up our current business and get off their property. Sighing, I place my unread holobook in a receptacle and rendez-vous (rende-moi?) with Aire. She intimates that she has discovered something good, but that it would be better to discuss in relative privacy, to which I agree.
Passing the confused fellow who let us into the Temple, I procure the ticket from my pocket in order to get my parking validated. Free is good.
The flight back to the Yama is far faster than the trip into Galactic City, since by this time traffic has cleared up tremendously. I would inquire of Aire again, but the noise of the city and the flight is just too loud when one rides on the seat of a swoop bike. No matter-- I'm intrigued to hear the destination, but the truth of the matter is that it will take much longer to leave the planet than it will to set the coordinates into the navicomputer and plot a course. So I can be patient. After all, if I find out everything I need with just this much effort, then I would call it a journey well spent.

Raylia stretched back from her desk, extending her arms and legs before she groggily stood up from her dusty tome to seek out some exercise and a cup of tea. Her deep blue fingers curled around her earthy clay mug, lifting it from the mire of her desk top where she was translating a scan of an artifact with an ancient text belonging to the Kwa. Contemporaries of the long dead Rakatan species, Raylia had been trying to find a link between a dig site on Dathomir and a room of things located on Belsaris. So far, the dialect was not recognizable and only spotty words could shed light on the matter. None of it was concrete though.
She reached up and rubbed the back of her neck as she came out of the secure, climate controlled area where her office was located, into the libraries area. There was a corridor than ran down the length of the one side that held offices, meeting rooms and a small cafeteria. She nodded to the young padawan who was helping to clean up from the lunch crowd, making her way to the station where various hot beverages could be had. She selected a fruity blend that smelled of berries and green leaves, dunking the parchment bag into the water, the tincture turning a rosy red color.
She patted the young woman's shoulder on her way out. She was a padawan, very interested in the accumulated knowledge of the order and the artifact collection they had amassed over the eons. Her master was a more pragmatic fellow who preferred that she turn her attention to physical prowess. She still managed to help out in the library when she had a free moment. Raylia applauded her dedication to her passion. Not all were so inspired. It was a joy to be nurtured.
Raylia headed back towards her office, shuffling quietly though the abandoned halls. It was good to have them back. So much damage, so much destruction from an attack only a couple years prior. It was nice to see the damage healed. Even if some were not. Raylia wound her way back to her small office in the archives, sinking back down to her desk and donning the white protective gloves before she touched the text again. Her tea sat steaming on a table a few feet away. Can't be too careful with an irreplaceable item from a people who no longer exist.

Some time earlier that afternoon Jade had arrived at the Jedi Temple. Instead of making the flight in her own cramped fighter though, she had simply booked passage on a passing freighter that was looking to make a few extra credits by taking on a passenger or two. She blinked up the tall spires of the complex, swooping up gracefully into the skyline of the city-planet. She had not been here in years. Actually, that was decades. She had not been here in decades. She pushed back the hood of her outer robe and let it fall down her back.
Once inside, she headed down towards the Archives. This was the single biggest repository of Jedi knowledge in the galaxy, and she liked just going there and feeling the presence of all the people who had contributed to it in one way or another. In any case, it was an architectural beauty and well worth visiting. She had a bit of time before the meeting of all Jedi masters.
Jade stopped at the cafeteria and collected a steaming mug of stimcaf before heading into the depths of the Archives proper. While pondering the features of one of the many busts lining the main hall she felt somewhere nearby a Force aura that seemed momentarily familiar. Familiar but different. She headed toward it and stopped outside what seemed to be a small office. She took a sip of her hot beverage as she contemplated the door, then, she reached forward and knocked.

The knock brought her out of her focus, her awareness of her surroundings forgotten as she concentrated on the task at hand. She picked up the book and set it into a glass case to protect it before she peeled off her gloves and grabbed her now cool cup of tea. She leaned against the side table in her office, her gaze expectant of a student who needed help with an assignment from her classes, but the Force tickling the back of her mind with other ideas.
"Come in." She called out, sliding one hand into the oversized pocket on the well worn, cream colored sweater she wore in her chilly office area. It hid her brown and cream robes enough, although her hooded cloak hung in the armoire off to the side should she want to venture out of the sanctity of her library.

Jade glanced at the name posted outside the door, Raylia'Venci, neatly lettered underneath her current occupation. She took a sip of stimcaf, nearly scalded her tongue, and tucking her datapad under her left elbow she carefully pushed open the door. Even more steam drifted up from her beverage as the temperature within the office was several degrees colder than outside.
And there was the tinge of familiarity. She was a Twi'Lek, like Serrin Roma. And there the similarity ended, though she seemed to have been absorbed in the relatively peaceful pursuit of knowledge. "Greetings, Master Venci." She executed a polite half-bow, carefully not spilling her drink, and curled her fingers more tightly around the hot mug. "I'm recently arrived from the Corellian Academy and thought I'd pay my respects by visiting the Archives." There wasn't a good way to say she had knocked because her Force aura reminded her of an old friend, but there was something else too. A vague memory tickling at the back of Jade's mind. She frowned, trying to catch the thought, then looked up at the other woman again. Already diminutive, standing only 5'3" she felt even more dwarfed when in the Jedi Archives due to the grandiose simplicity of the building itself. She suppressed a shiver, glanced down at her datapad for reference and again, returned her attention fully to the archeologist in front of her. "I think perhaps we have met before?" That would indeed be a long time ago now. Chance had brought her to the Council of Knowledge on Naboo, the Force had given her friends, and then they had gone separate ways in response to their various callings.

Raylia cocked her head sideways curiously, trying to place the face of the elderly Jedi before her. It took a moment but everything clicked the uncertainty melted from her features and she held out her hand in greeting, crossing the room in a stride.
"Of course, Master Jade, I believe? I remember you from the Council of Knowledge on Naboo. Please do come in." She gestured for her visitor to take her desk chair, as she drew over a smaller wooden chair she kept along the back wall should anyone attempt to visit her windowless room in the depths of the temple. It had been stacked with books, but Raylia moved them to a worktable and sat neatly down on the antique. Raylia sat forward, leaning over the cup in her lap, the tip of her tchun curling up on itself while her tchin hung over her shoulder down her back. "What contained in the archives interests you? Perhaps I can point you in a direction of research or learning?"

Jade let go of her cup momentarily, levitating it easily as she clasped Raylia's hand for a moment in her own gloved one, and then resumed holding her stimcaf in the more normal way. "It has been long enough that simply "Jade" is quite sufficient," she smiled warmly at the Rutian Twi'Lek, taking the seat she offered, figuring that do so would be politer than to refuse her offer as she'd already cleared away another seat for herself. Jade placed her datapad in her lap and wrapped her other hand around her mug. "You must be delving into something incredibly rare I think, as it is so cold in here?" She knew that unlike datapads and holovids, actual books bound in paper required a much more precise atmosphere in order to slow down their rate of deterioration over time. A quick glance at the tome that had just been replaced in a protective glass case was enough to reveal that the archeologist was looking up something undoubtedly fascinating, but just as undoubtedly not something with which Jade was acquainted.
She crossed her right leg over her left, repositioning the datapad as she did so. "At this moment I am not in search of anything in particular." However, she felt that was not enough of a reason, so she continued, "It is simply that I have not been to Coruscant in a very long time and I wished to see the Archives. It is easy to become lost in the circumstances of simply living. I find it easy to regain perspective during a leisurely walk through the Jedi Library in the middle of centuries of accomplishments." She frowned, not sure if that was making sense. "It reminds me that there is something much more important than myself, that I serve something greater."

There were noises, with some shouts barked urgently growing louder and louder until they bounced off the walls, attracting some of the more raw recruits to gander at a strange scene, though it could aptly be described as an absurdity, complete with gushes of the force flaring off like gunshots at a mall.
They were apparently trying to detain a post-pubescent girl with everything they could throw within complete reason of utter violence. Force Push, Stasis, and even calming effects were cast and called upon; one by one this raven haired girl tanked her way through it, absorbing the energy crackling about without even a hint of emotion or recognition. Eventually one of the knights grows desperate while igniting his saber and adopting a combat stance. Undaunted, the girl marches up to the blade and flicks her wrist carelessly while saying, "Be still."
A second later a wall of collected energy smashes down upon the Jedi's spine, and since there was no malice or harmful intent carried -not even a detectable force signature, as if dealing with a blank space bring filled with charge about it- with the torrent, he is ill prepared to defend against. Down it comes reigning chaos upon his back and spine, shattering most of the lower vertebrae in an instant. He would be paralyzed until some careful medical examination, but he would remain alive and unfeeling. To signify this, the knight falls to the floor like a ragdoll.
And onwards she marches, deeper and deeper into the archives, again ignoring any incumbents along the way, while asking them, "Where are your records on mortality? Where do you keep this knowledge?"

Raylia's eyes drifted to the tome and she reached over with her left to wake up her terminal where it displayed a surface scan of an artifact. She pointed to the markings just under the rim on the artifact. "We found this on Belsaris. The markings are similar to ancient Kwa but the artifact was included with things from the Rakatan. We have been working on translations for some time now. The Kwa text in the case is thousands of years old. I must take every precaution with it."
She sat back, mirroring Jade's posture. She sipped her tea, taking in the other woman's appearance and reading her subtle body language. She cupped the warm mug in her blue hands, her nails painted a shimmery teal color, something half way between the sky and the field, her skin tone and her eyes. "It is rare for me to get visitors here, especially ones who have no particular reason to be wandering this far into the offices. Surely your soul can be soothed by a walk through the library and the collections on display. However, you had to pass 2 different security checkpoints to get to my climate controlled office space. Could be nothing, or it could suggest that your visit coincides with something else going on, upstairs perhaps?"
About that time, an alarm started to sound on her desk, signaling a security problem in the archives. Raylia could feel the agitation and pain, causing her to close her eyes and sigh deeply. "The masters will have to wait. There is a problem down here. I must see to it before I am drug away to the spire. Excuse me."
Raylia set down her cup and rose from the chair with the elegance and grace of a disciplined dancer. She opened the door and followed the sense of irritation to where she found a young girl with destruction in her wake. Raylia stood stood straight in the girl's path, her voice calm but authoritative as she addressed the obvious intruder. "Enough. This is absolutely no way to act if you wish for someone to help you."
