A slow, very proud smile crossed Adi's face as Will was called forth, and accepted his promotion. It wasn't every day that a member of your own team was put in a prestigious position such as this...and there was none more deserving than Master Sontir. He had earned his stripes, time and again...and saved Adi's hide in quite a few scrapes as well. His reputation was excellent, his teachings were fantastic, he could drink Adi under the table....
...But, he wasn't as good looking as he thought he was.
Silently, Matango sat in the seat reserved for him...slightly behind the row of Council Masters, due to his Knight-advisor position. He thoroughly enjoyed being there, despite what some may think. To sit on the Jedi High Council in any capacity was a true honor...and Adi was content with simply being allowed an opinion among such well-known Jedi...especially considering where he had started in life.
Too bad Master Concordia wasn't around anymore....she more than likely would have been sitting here with him, smiling proudly at Master Sontir. At least Adi hoped she would be. There were unconfirmed reports of her death...but the Arkanian knew better. While faintly, he could still feel her out there...somewhere. Maybe not quite herself, but she was out there. Maybe after the Mando threat had been quelled, he would seek her out and find out why she had been so very notably absent from the Jedi since Adi's true ascension to the light....
First things first however....it was Master Sontir's time in the limelight. There would be time for reminiscing later.

*Aerandir never liked sitting at these meetings. He always stood beside or behind his seat within the circle of Councilors' chairs. He'd offered Cassie his seat, but she didn't feel comfortable sitting in what was designated as a seat reserved for a High Councilor. Aerandir supposed she had a point, so they merely stood together behind the chair, clasping each other's hand.
The Council was gathered, the guests so far had settled silently aside, and proceedings had begun with the promotion of Master Will Son'tir to the Council. Aerandir, unfortunately, could not say he knew much about the man, but his record spoke for itself, and he trusted the judgment of the other Councilors in choosing his ascension, especially his fellow Corellian, Master Roma.
But as the Master accepted the terms of joining the Council, Aerandir knew it was his turn. Gently squeezing his wife's hand, he released it and stepped forward, a slightly-restrained smile on his face.* Then, Master Son'tir, we welcome you to the Jedi Council. I am sure your wisdom and experience will aid us all. *Aerandir looked about at the gathered, at the faces familiar and new, then spoke aloud.* This ascension is not the only celebration of the day. If Adieumus Matango could step forward, please...

He quietly stood, and folded his hands in front of him. Head bowed, he walked to the front of the group assembled. As he passed Will, he put his right hand on the new Jedi High Councilperson's shoulder, and smiled broadly in congratulations. Not hesitating, he continued forward, looking at each of the Masters in turn.
He felt so very small as he entered the 'spotlight', in the presence of such well-known Jedi. It happened each time he had to speak to them, a stage fright of sorts. He could feel the color leaving his face slightly, and a lump formed in his throat. The news he had to bring was less than stellar this time, no less, which made it all the worse. There was the confirmation of Dace Concordia's death, the reports of Mandalorian forces hitting Ryloth, not to mention the tattered state of the Watchmen at this point. After Yavin, the Jedi were not in a good state...
...But at least he had a plan to perhaps take some pressure off the invaders holding the fourth moon of Yavin hostage.
As he took 'center stage' in the room, he bowed deeply to all in attendance.
"Reporting as ordered, Sirs. "
He rose after a few moments of holding the bow, and waited to be addressed again for his report.

*As Adi stepped forward, Aerandir took another step forward. It had been some time now since Honoghr, since Aerandir had stood on that wide rock in the Water Gardens and pronounced Ice a Jedi Knight. It was more an impromptu ceremony, but one Aerandir liked to think he handled well. And now he'd stand here and...* Jedi Matango, your years of service to the Jedi are many. You've overcome the temptations of the dark side, fought against many a foe, defending your home, your family, and many others from the threat of death. You've endured many hardships, and still unquestionably serve the Jedi Order. It is due to this that the Council has deemed you ready. Ready to assume the mantle of "Jedi Master." *Aerandir smiled, falling silent for a moment or two to allow that to sink in, then continued.* Congratulations, Master Matango. *Unfortunately, the news wasn't all good, so his smile slowly returned to a neutral expression.* However, we also feel you are not ready for the Jedi High Council at this time. You are also relinquished from your duties as a Knight-Advisor; there is nothing more you can learn from us. Your learning will now come from elsewhere, and continue to come from your duties as Watchman Lead. *It was this last bit of news he wasn't sure how the newly-appointed Master would handle, though he supposed it would be a good test of character. But Aerandir had said and done his part. It was up to Adieumus to go from here.*

Wh...WHAT????!?!?!?!
He heard Aerandir speak, and he wasn't quite sure he had heard the vaunted Jedi Master correctly. Adi had come here expecting to be reprimanded for not holding out longer against the Mandalorian attack...thinking that he had failed the Jedi Order by allowing them to besiege the jungle moon. Instead, he was presented with a promotion to Jedi Master. This was a most unexpected turn of events.
For one of the very few times in his life, Adieumus Matango was held speechless...the cat had most certainly run away with his tongue. All he could do at this point was simply nod, and bow to Master Calmcacil, and the other members of the council. He listened carefully as Aerandir explained that his position as 'Knight-advisor' was no longer his....which was most certainly to be expected, as well as the fact that he was not yet ready for the Council proper. He had just begun a new journey, he didn't expect to be put in such a capacity so soon after becoming what he had sought for so long.
A very quiet, appreciative smile crossed Adieumus' face....he figured that was better than jumping up and down screaming 'WOOOHOOO!!!', which is exactly what he was fighting his brain from acting upon. His ability to make words returned to him, and he nodded quietly, bowing his head and holding it as he began to speak..
"I understand completely, Master Calmcacil. Thank you for this tremendous honor.
You have my solemn vow that I won't let you down." Clearing his throat, and composing himself further, the new Jedi Master decided now was as good a time as any to present his ideas. "With the Council's permission, I would like to present a few ideas that could lessen the pressure on Yavin IV. " His head continued to remain bowed, and he waited for permission to present his plan.

From his seat, Devlin smiles at Adieumus. His arms remain folded into the sleeves of his robe.
He was glad that he was here to witness the man's rise to Master. It was well and truly deserved. It almost warranted leaving Ossus to see it in person.
"The floor is yours, Master Matango. What do you propose, my friend?"
He knew the Council would judge the ideas on their merit; but Adi's promotion might just add a bit more weight to the words. Not that Devlin put much stock in titles. Still, it was nice to see hard work and determination rewarded.

"Thank you, Master Dewe. It is good to see you well." Adi nodded to the man he had fought alongside to protect the Great Jedi Library on Ossus. Looking around the room for but a moment, Adi noticed the haggard, but still defiant forms of Jedi Masters Man'sell and Pulastra. It was for them that Adi was working to save, all that they loved and cherished....if necessary, he would put his own life on the line to ensure their efforts to protect Yavin would not be in vain. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a holoprojection pad. Punching a few keys, an image of Yavin IV, along with rough positions of the Mandalorian fleets around the jungle moon *at least according to the latest reports...things were sketchy at best as far as details on the Mando positions*.
"As we all know, the Mandalorian blockade is strong, and growing stronger every day. At this point, its nearly impossible for any kind of frontal assault to break the blockade...it is pretty much a suicide mission for any kind of sizable force to break through to help the Yavin contingent. However, I believe a less-aggressive route is necessary....at least one that the Mandalorians won't expect. You see, when An-Tiarna and the Iron Fists attacked Honoghr the last time, they did not come in strength, they came in small teams of well-trained individuals. We were pretty much forced to react to things they did, rather than actually moving against a full-on force. They caused more damage and havoc than any previous attack on the planet. I learned a valuable lesson there....its not how large a force you can bring, its how you use what you are given."
Pausing for a moment, Adieumus pressed a few more keys on the holoprojection pad, and sat it on the floor. The image went from that of Yavin IV to a mobile mining facility on Mandalore, along with the planet Myrkr floating off to the side, as if it were 'on deck' to be explained. "The Mandalorians are strong over Yavin, but this has severely thinned their ability to react to attacks to their war machine. For instance, right now, there is a revolt on Mustafar, which presents us with a very opportune target on Mandalore....the only supply of beskar ore comes from this mobile facility. If we could destroy it, it would cut off the supply of beskar ore to the entirety of the Mandalorian forces. A strike there would cripple the war effort for some time. Also..." Adi brought up the planet Myrkr, former home of one Kaine Australis, and the source of a real nuisance to any force user. "The planet Myrkr...a valuable resource lies there for the Mandalorians as well...Ysalimari. Former Mandalor Kaine Australis was famous for parading around with one...and the planet is pretty much infested with them. Perhaps we should speak with the Republic about annexing the planet for its resources, and also to keep it in -our- pocket for a while, lest the bucketheads realize how valuable an asset they have in the planet."
Reaching down, Adi picked up the holopad, and pressed one button, dissolving the images. Tucking it under his arm, a passively defiant look crossed his face. "These times in which we dwell are dark, indeed for the Jedi. What I am proposing is that we start a series of guerilla-type strikes on the Mandalorians, to draw forces and firepower away from Yavin in order to protect their holdings. I can do it with minimal personnel, and equipment. All I ask is free reign to plan and carry out the attacks. We will need the support of the Republic to really pull this off, however and in that, I need -your- help. The Republic Senate will not listen to a new Jedi Master, but they will listen to each and every one of you. I can break this siege, I can make this work if you allow me...
But I need all the help you can give me in gaining the assets we need to accomplish it. I beg of you, hear my words, and give me the green light to do what needs to be done. Every moment we wait to act, the Mandalorian force grows stronger while the defenses on Yavin are pushed to breaking. We cannot stand idly by, and allow that to happen. I apologize for sounding so imperative, but they cannot hold forever. I have other targets in mind, but we need to start smaller...we don't have much to spare, and as long as I have your permission, I can take care of securing enough for the first couple of strikes.
I believe together, in time, we can shatter the hold they have on that bastion of light...Let us show that we are more than meetings and formal gatherings."
Bowing his head, Adi showed that he had said all that he had wanted to. He now waited to hear what the others had to say.

As Adi padded Will on the back for his promotion, Will gave a wink and a grin and padded him on his back before taking up a vacant seat of nine in the semicircle of wisdom; Will knew what was coming. Adi's promotion was eminent and was discussed with Master Roma before departing for Honoghr to go and pick up the Watch Lead for this very meeting.
Will took his seat. And Adi's ascension to mastery came just as swiftly as his own ascension to the Council. No large grandeur forms of acclamation, no medals, just simple recognition of value and worth. Will's piercing blue eyes kept on the holographic images of the plans that Adi made. Will had cursory knowledge of the plans already. He knew what he wanted to say to the Council before they were made aware of the Watch Leads plans. So he took lead in support of the counterstrike.
Many of the Council knew of Will's mixed heritage. He was admitted to the Order after his stunt in Corellia Security, as a member of the prominent Caster family of Coronet, just a few decades ago. But his trials led him to seek out the aid of, what he found out to be, his father's Mandalorian clan Son'tir. He passed his trials and earned the honor of the clans on Concord Dawn, hence the sash across his midsection. Master Son'tir can be sen giving cultural lessons (both live and recorded holocrons) on the Mandalorian culture (among others) to those Jedi hopefuls seeking posts in diplomacy. Will spoke through his expertise, his eyes tracing around those in attendance.
"The Mandalorians have, indeed, committed much of their gathered forces to Yavin IV. And they have bet much of our forces are gathering to counter their attack directly on Yavin; which we have proven in the recent past. We committed everything to freeing up the attacks on Honoghr, on Ossus, on Corellia. We tend to come directly to the aid of our brethren. Which is a part of culture and in most of character's as individuals. The Mando's have done their homework on our tactics and bet on our priority to evacuate civilians. And they, too, (mostly) were careful not to directly target civilians. That's not their goal. They have an honor to defend as warriors who have sought out worthy opponents in us, the jedi."
"With that in mind, they will be taken by surprise, but they will respect a forward assault to a stronghold like Mandalore; they will treat us in kind, yes, and fight with all of their might. But they will not be so keen to escalate this conflict. If we are successful. We would need the assistance of the Republic, which would prove to be more difficult then it has been in the past."
Will took a moment for the conversation to take a natural shift, for those listening to digest the information before moving to the next chunk. "The Republic has seen a recent swing of support in the Republic recently. The jedi still have favor, yes; but how long, we don't know. With all the recent fires being started in our behalf all across Republic space, it is a wonder we don't have another purge on our hands. The Republic has been gridlocked for months and has gone through a recent lameduck period as the most recent Supreme Chancellor has now termed out, those powers that be have been focusing on a viable candidate to put on the big chair. If we have any hope in remaining in favor of the people, we must make sure that those candidates that are up for the job, have. . .similar agenda as our own; which is, of course, the safety of the Republic."
Will is an avid supporter of democracy, but he also is not a naive jedi without political experience. "The cronie Senators who have just recently taken offiice will fall in step whoever few decide is the best candidate. I have taken account of the service career of those who are most viable fore the job, and they are currently being vetted for the position as we speak by the head of the Judiciary Committee, who is also the parliamentarian of the Senate-- Senator Cohlbar of Mon Calamari."
Will took another breath. "We could also us this lameduck and gridlock period to our advantage; when in times the Republic is at an impasse or not in session (like it is now), the Military Council has the power to provide the emergency actions they deem fit that is both necessary and proper for the safety of the Republic. So, in essence, we do not need to convince the whole Senate, per se, but the members of the Military Council. Admiral Vrenka, representing the Joint Chiefs of the Navy (and a member of Cihlbar's staff) would most assuredly advise to support our needs, a few others will do so after a little explanation. But there has been one particular Senator who has rose to prominence that may need convincing. the Senator Ryloth, Crom'nen. He will need the most convincing. If he returns to the capital, he has been absent for this lameduck period, on missions assumedly diplomatic in nature. . . "
Will takes another breath. "I volunteer to provide any support in the counterstrike that Master--" a wink "Matango needs. I can also provide the best contacts to the Republic to garner support. What say you, Masters??" His eyes continued to sweep across those masters in attendance, with particular prejudice to the holo images of Masters Man'sell and Pulastra.

The hologram of Dav leant forward, nodding.
It's a sound idea. I don't think the Mandalorian threat at this tenure can be underestimated - rather, I don't think we can afford to make the mistake of thinking that they can't hurt us. We've managed to tie them up pretty good at Yavin, and I intend to give them the fight of their lives before they can even hope to take down this Praxeum, but they're intelligent, resourceful, tactically creative. I shouldn't think it'll be too long before they devise a way of hitting at other worlds whilst maintaining the Yavin blockade.
The Jedi Master glanced at Will, who had stood at his side on Yavin Station when the Mandalorian attack had begun, before continuing.
I spoke with Mand'alor Intalbo before the battle; he made it clear what this is. It's a genocide he's planning, plain and simple. He referred to the purge... Dav's brow darkened with a frown and a glower as he thought of the purge - he was one of the few Jedi still alive that had witnessed it first hand, and the horrors of it all had not left him yet. ... and I get the distinct feeling... just my instincts talking here, but I don't think he'll stop at the Jedi. I think he intends to target all Force using traditions. The Jensaari, the Baran Do, the Ysanna species, the Neti, the Miraluka... we could be looking at something bigger than the Jedi Order here, but if we are, he'll want to take us down first. We are, after all, if not the most powerful of the Force sensitive traditions, at least the most symbolic.
He glanced over at Jago and Vesten now. The three of them, they could well be the first of the Order's leaders to fall to this - the threat was no more real to anyone in that room than it was to them, who at that very moment broadcast from the centre of the Mandalorian siege efforts.

*Had I been out of action that long? Clearly I had. I had now turned away from the window and quietly observed the promotion of two prominent members, from afar I had watched and studied the growing careers and arduous hard work that both Masters had put in. They had given a lot to the Order and had symbolically and physically represented the Jedi Order through thick and thin, there couldn't have been a more staunch reminder of how much he had lacked in his representation of the Order.
At one time he had been at the forefront of the Order, where ever there had been a call Steffo had answered and now here he was, here they all were faced with such adversity. Faced quite possibly with destruction, maybe annihilation. It was clear a number of the Yavin Jedi were holding the Mandalorians but indeed for how long? What worried Steffo more was the fact that Dav was worried.
The brow lines upon his forehead deepened in worry, for if Master Man'Sell and some of the leading most powerful and prolific Jedi were perturbed and even spoke openly of what could only be called failure and the possible mass targeting of any force using faction then there was every chance the Mandalorians could achieve their goal.
Steffo decided to study the Masters and Jedi around him, all wore the same tired and worried if not thoughtful expressions, was now his time to step forward. No, he would wait, the Council may not be looking for Jedi to put themselves forward they would no doubt select the best to aid Knight (Master) Matango.

Will silently nods his agreement with the Yavin Master. Something in the back of Will's head began to tingle as the Force gave him an intense feeling of anticipation. Things are mounting in the galaxy. It would be something that he would to meditate on after this meeting. But this meeting needs to progress in order for the Jedi to come to the aid of the people of the Republic, and to thwart this Holy War the Mandalorians have started. . .

Adi had been standing there, letting the Council members debate for a few minutes. He knew he would have to wait for a while for an answer, but the time for waiting was long over. Yes, patience was a Jedi's friend, it was true...but this wasn't time for debating.
Action had to be taken...and NOW.
"Masters, I thank you for this great honor. However, I must take my leave....there are Watchmen in dire need of assistance, and we are going to be regrouping on Carida. From there, I will begin my plans to help get the blockade broken. Any support you can garner, or send....Well, it would be much appreciated. May the force be with us all in our endeavours."
Bowing very deeply, Adi rose, and exited the chamber, heading for the Hangar bays. Waving for Miras and Ak-Akari to follow, he waited only long enough for them to catch up. He had sent word to have his A-2 Dragon brought to the planet, so he could have transportation when the need arose, along with three X-83 twin tails for Will, Akkie, and Miras.
Obviously, that time was now....

Ak-Akari watched Adi leave, perplexed. This was going to be an issue, he could feel it. His appeal would have to be short.
Standing to face the council, having been silent the entire time.
"I do not mean to break protocol, but Master Matango's departure makes my case something I need to make brief. Essentially, I was hoping to propose a partnership between myself and the Jedi Order. Any of you who know me know that I have fought alongside the Jedi in the past, and I have always been a man of principles. That said, until very recently I had aimed to avoid associating myself with the disparate orders of Force sensitives, seeing them as restrictive and stagnant. These recent events however have made me rethink things somewhat. I cannot continue to operate on my own."
He paused for a moment, letting things digest, then continued.
"While I do not expect, nor am I requesting a formal position inside the order, I would like to work in conjunction with your forces as an independent party. I would of course bow to the council's authority, but anonymity will be of especial use in the coming days. You see, I am somewhat of an infiltration specialist, focusing primarily on the illusion potential of the Force as well as being very capable in null-force operations. To this end it is my intention to join Master Matango's operations against the Mandalorians. Very few among your order will be as well suited to this operation, and my special case will allow for easy disavowal should I become compromised. I hope that you will treat this as a test of my loyalties, but whatever your choice it is imperative that I depart soon."
He stood for a few more moments, listening to whatever answer the council gave. Then, presumable, once the discussion ended he hurried after Adi, hoping to catch him before departure.

Devlin frowns at Master Matango's departure.
Not that he blamed the newly minted master's desire for haste. Especially when Jedi were risking their lives on the front lines. But, planning and deliberation had their uses too. Balance was the key. As with every aspect of life.
Folding his arms across his chest and hiding them in his sleeves, he stoically regards Ak-Akari.
"What you propose, no doubt, is going to be acceptable to the Council as a whole. Considering it sounds very similar to a clandestine branch of the Order."
He looks around at the other Council members before continuing.
He was about to reveal sensitive information, but he knew there were only trusted ears present.
"Perhaps you have heard of the Jedi Shadows? You might find their methods in line with your...talents."

Ak-Akari nodded. He had heard of them to be sure, though he had never met one in person.
"I have, though as I said before, I do not expect instant membership. The council deserves proof of my intention beyond mere words, and I myself would like some time with the order to decide for myself."
He bowed to the council members.
"Now, if you'll allow me to take my leave, I believe I have let Master Matango get enough of a lead already. A sound plan is important to succesful operation, so I would appreciate as much time for preparation as possible. Good day to you all and best of luck in your respective parts of this war."
With that he strode out, taking the turbolift to the hangars.

*Upon hearing Master Matango's words and realising how serious the case was, I knew that none here would put me forward, the Order seemed stretched at the best and why would any Master put forward one with a history such as mine.
I wanted to make the difference, perhaps it was time to grab a firm hold of my destiny; the man of action had to strike again, time to rise and shine then.
I watched Adi leave and listened to Ak-Akari propose a communion of some sort, I could not see any objection judging from the drive for urgency presented by Masters Man'Sell and Matango.
I waited momentarily and then stepped forward toward the door, I turned and bowed to those present.*"I vowed to protect this Order I won't forsake my vows in its hour of need, I must go and seek my purpose by the will of the force." *I had my own path to walk, I did not see it clearly but I knew my actions to be true, and less I chose to dwell in stagnant water, NO, it was time to push forth to clearer flowing streams instead of wallowing in the past and indecisiveness, the time was at hand for me to shake of the cloak comprised of shadows of the past and forge a new presence out of the old.
I turned taking my leave and quickened my pace to catch the departing Master of the Watch.*

Will nodded his approval apon short looks with his fellow High Council members, as the Watch and new members of Shadows go forth.
"Go forth, with our consent, everybody; and may the Force be with you all."
The Council has made their decisions, the plans were made, discussed, and are now being set in motion. The High Council discusses a few more general things before the High Council members holo comming in from Yavin IV all of sudden flicker out. Will must only assume that the Mandalorians have set up a communication jamming system; the blockade must be fully operational. The High Council is forced to adjourn and set into motion.
Will bows to the few remaining jedi, encourages Master Devlin and Master Roma to join out of the door before he leaves.
The Jedi Watch have set out for counter insurgencies. But something must be done about Yavin, and the Republic must be informed. . . .

The Jedi Council conferred quietly, or at least what was left of it... The war had taken it's toll even on the most powerful masters of the order... Not even they were safe from the darkside in this tumultous era. Several had fallen in battle while others were on the field trying to lead desperate counterattacks to stall the sith advance to the core worlds. On that bleak Coruscant morning only 5 Council Members sat in an empty room, rain patted against the windows of the Council Tower and lightning pierced the sky, sending unusual shadows flickering across the floor. In attendence were the silver haired and white clad jedi Master Atris, master historian of the order. To her immediately sat Master Zez-Kai Ell, his double bladed saber rested upon his lap. Even here the jedi expected attack... Seated in the center was Master Vrook Lamar, uncle of Alaric Lamar. To his right sat Master Lona Vash and next to her was Master Kavar.
Vrook held up his hand, signalling the council to quiet themselves, he had always been close with his nephew, perhaps not in personality, but undoubtably through the force. He had sensed his nephew's approach and did not wish for him or the other approaching knights to hear their whispered conversation. The other councilors, respecting their peer's call for silence, straightened themselves and looked towards the blastdoor...
Alaric Lamar, and several other Knights stood shoulder to shoulder within the turbolift as it steadily climbed the tower. Alaric was full of questions, and no doubt his contemporaries were as well. He recognized all of his turbolift companions, all knights almost all were jedi guardians, jedi specializing in combat, pulled from the field and back to Coruscant for this meeting with the council. The anxiety and tension was almost tangible as they felt the lift slow and finally stop...
The blastdoor slid open and the 6 Jedi Knights within stepped forward. The four Jedi Guardians wore the blue and black robes of their profession, while Vrook and the other Sentinel wore the brown and red garb that denoted sentinels.
Vrook looked at his uncle questioningly but Vrook did not meet his gaze. Instead he seemed to be avoiding it. Kavar rose from his seat and bowed towards his guardians, who returned the gesture of respect. Alaric could not help but feel a ping of irritation at that display of... Well, it was a needless and irrelevent reaffimation of loyalty or perhaps even worse a gesture Kavar implemented simply to boost his own ego. However Alaric quickly wiped the thoughts from his mind and stood along with the other knights, in a straight line before the Jedi High Council.
Vrook took a moment to take stock of the jedi he was with... the female with white hair, white skin and blue eyes was Meela Turick, an Echani jedi guardian. She was fierce, powerful and wielded a double bladed blue saber. Not much for conversation though. The tall Zabrak was Kao Dera, who fought in the style of Master Kavar with a single saber in one hand and a short lightsaber shoto in the other. The Massive human was Roblio Marte, he was by far the most powerful of the guardians and was not a master simply because he had yet to take a padawan, devoting all his time to the war. He wielded a massive blue bladed saber akin to a claymore of ancient times... Finally to finish the guardian group was the Arkanian force warrior Fayian Dar so skilled in the force she abstained from wearing a saber at her belt.
The other Sentinel was Jason Grey a younger sentinel that had much success keeping order on backwater worlds that the Republic could not police due to the war.
"Thank you for coming." Began Lona Vash, breaking the silence. "I suppose you are wondering why we have summoned you here today."
"Aye, I am Masters." said Roblio stepping forward. "I would like to know what is so crucial that 6 Jedi Knights have been taken away from the war and brought back here? Are we to guard the temple or the senators along with half the Republic Fleet?" He voiced the opinion of the rest of us and sarcasm was apparent in his tone, as well as skepticism.
Lona frowned and looked towards Vrook. Sighing he stood up... "You have been summoned here because we wish you to investigate Malachor V."
"It's a dead world, nothing's there except death." Roblio began again.
"If you would allow me to finish Roblio, then we will explain why it is essential that a powerful group of knights investigate the planet... The Miraluka seers have forseen a great evil coming to fruition there, they also claim that may have been where Revan and Malak embraced the darkside. There is something on that planet and you all shall journey there and cleanse it of the darkside, prevent the catastrophe that was forseen and discover all you can about the darkness there." Vrook finished.
Zez-Kai El began "You must use caution lest you befall the same fate as Revan and Malak... We are issuing you a single warship that will transport you and the crew of troopers to the Outer Rim. You will have to infiltrate sith controlled space and once there we can offer little support."
"Strike fast, strike hard, but it may be best not to strike at all if their counter attack denies us six of our most talented knights. I understand the frustration of being pulled from the front but we, the council know that your mission lies in the outer rim. Perhaps we will discover the nature of this new evil." Added Kavar.
The Knights bowed as one, accepting the mission, though perhaps more than one still questioned it and it's purpose.
"You will leave Immediately, the Republic warship Defiant is awaiting you in orbit, it's Commanding Officer, Nek Bwau'tu will be ready to depart as soon as you dock." Said Vash with finality.
Through this all he noticed that Atris seemed especially quiet, something that he had heard was rare... The Historian simply sat silently, staring at the jedi intently. What was she thinking? But those thoughts were pushed aside as the councilors rose from their seats and bowed, signalling their briefing was over... The jedi then returned to the Turbolift. Before the blastdoor closed, Alaric could see Vrook staring at them almost sadly as if he knew something... then the door shut and the knights were taken away from the Council.

An alert came into the Jedi temple from the Senate Guard. A bomb had just gone off in the Senate building.

Reaching the High council spire, i admired the craftsmanship of this newly renovated area. not knowing what listening ears could hear me, i spoke in an audible tone
"Masters... are you present?"
when there wasn't an answer, i moved to the center of the chamber and sat for a while in a meditative state
