Situated down a short corridor from the courtyard an area devoted to study for those at the Jedi Base exists. A series of rooms that range in size from small and intimate study zones to large amphitheatres designed as lecture halls. A dedicated library is also present at the far side of this area and, while not as complete as the Base archives, is sufficient to see to the needs of the students here. A series of small offices can be found near the library for the use of the teaching staff and a turbolift can also be found here to provide access to other levels.

Brakus was still prattling on as the tubolift doors opened on the level where the classroom were located but Felia had stopped listening to him. Along with a few other kids their age they stepped out into a long corridor that had doors breaking up the walls every few yards or so. Her mind drifted as they walked, hearkening back to when they had first come here. Compared to the bare, chilly stone walls of Yavin IV this place was carved word, beautifully worked stone, tastefully decorated to instil warmth and comfort. Of course there were some areas that lacked such amenities but here it seemed a nurturing environment had been cultivated in order to promote learning, to foster a safe habitat within which they could express their minds.
Not that a soon to be twelve year old girl thought such things as she walked towards her lesson with her classmates. She just liked the decor and gave little to no thought about such weighty concerns...
"Honestly, Brak, do you even listen to yourself sometimes?"
She had tuned back into the conversation to hear him make some statement about how Ewoks were distantly related to Wookies and that the size difference was only down to a slight gravity deficit on Endor. She turned to him as she keyed for the door to their classroom to open.
"First what you said makes -like- zero sense, and second you just blurt these things out as if you are sure they are correct..."
She arched a pretty little eyebrow at him before moving into the room, muttering over her shoulder.
"Where'd you get this stuff from anyway...?"

Brakus' easy shrug was joined by an insolent grin as he followed Felia into the classroom. It was more a lecture hall than anything else this room, with a podium-like desk sat on a raised dais at the front. The twelve year olds eyes roved around the room as they sought to pick out any differences since the last time he was here, spotting a few different articles but finally becoming satisfied that all was how it should be.
"Jaroks Universal Compendium."
His tone was light as he spoke, his eyes sly. He knew Felia didn't hold any faith in such works as Jaroks, seeing them as a mockery on fact and something that could easily skew ones view of the galaxy. She was so grown up and serious sometimes he wondered if she was really an adult trapped in the body of a child. Some ancient Force Witch that had been cursed to live forever as an eleven year old girl.. He smiled at the thought as he stood, looking pretty dumb in his vacant-eyes glory, right in the middle of the aisle while the others went about taking their seats...

"I see that you have nearly perfected the art of standing around looking lost, mister Sev..."
The voice came from the front of the hall to the right of the podium, where Master Chalco Gannor had entered the room through a side door reserved for staff. His pace was measured, neither quick nor slow, as he made his way towards the raised dais upon which a huge desk that doubled as a lecture podium sat. In his hands he carried a collection of datapads, cards and readers all precariously balanced one atop another.
A slight trace of amusement took some of the sting out of the statement to young Brakus yet there was no mistaking the authority the tall Falleen carried with him as he made his way across the front of the room. He often joked with colleagues that he put on his stern teacher persona whenever he entered class, a statement they find highly amusing, often pointing out that it was likely impossible to tell.
"How is it the rest of the class has managed to find their way to their seats yet you remain unprepared for my arrival?"
Reaching the steps to the platform he ascended in three strides and carefully set his burdens down before sorting through them to arrange their order. Twelve readers went on the edge of the desk ready for the students while his own 'pad and datacards went to his left, next to the holoprojector. His head came up slightly in order to fix Brakus with a mock glare.

Jevn inclined his head in respectful acknowledgement as he entered the classroom with the Master. He took a lone seat in the back of the classroom, placing his pack quietly on the floor and leaning back, observing the students. He quietly chuckled at the exchange between Chalco and Sev. Things seemed more relaxed here than at Coruscant...Jevn had forgotten what that was like.

*Almost late. Not good. Never be late for Master Gannor's lessons, lest one wished to forcibly become the center of attention... and not in a good way. He hadn't planned on being late... but he'd also planned on Morgan joining the lesson today. So he'd waited for her, only for her to not appear. Perhaps she'd already gone ahead of him? No... she was elsewhere in the base.
So Jake had to leave without her and hope he made it to class on time. He'd rushed through the halls, bag over his shoulder, stopping at the entrance only to smooth out his robes some; lately he'd started wearing casual clothing more often, but something about the atmosphere of Master Gannor's classes and his high respect for the teacher led him to wearing proper robes for the occasion. Perhaps it was nostalgia; Master Gannor had been one of Jake's instructors at Yavin IV, and how could he have not been excited and pleased to learn that he had become an instructor here! Of course, of course, he had been devastated to hear of the attack on the Praxeum as well as its downfall, and he'd only had worry for those he knew... and of course there were some regrettable casualties, but Master Gannor and many children Jake knew from the world were here now, and it was... a bittersweet reunion.
It was at least amusing getting his friends used to calling him "Jake" now, instead of "JP," as he used to go by.
Certain he was more than presentable, he entered the classroom, only for his heart to sink... He was late. Perhaps barely. And Master Gannor was already picking on Brakus. There was a small chance that meant Jake might get off free... or it might not. Either way, Jake immediately offered a bow to the Master, before straightening and explaining,* "I'm sorry, Master. I thought Morgan was coming with me, but I guess not..." *Looking a little sheepish, he approached his seat, briefly noticing the older male present; an observer, perhaps? He took a seat near Felia and Brakus, setting his bag down upon it, quietly waiting for the lesson to begin. As well as a possible berating...*

Snapping out of his reverie too late to avoid the Ire of Master Gannor, no matter how lighthearted, Brakus felt the heat rise up his neck, finding purchase on his cheeks in a rosy red blush. His mind worked furiously for a response that would ease the moment not realising that such a quest for the correct response was causing him to continue standing around looking lost. He caught Felia rolling her eyes as he glanced around for inspiration, finally saved from his polarisation by the appearance of Jake.
While the other boy called out an explanation Brakus sized on that moment to gather his wits. He somehow thought up and discarded several responses in the time it took for his heart to beat twice before noticing Felia nudging him through the Force to get his attention. A sharp dip of her head and a telepathic prompt was enough to convey her intent. It went something along the lines of...
Just sit down, you idiot. While he's distracted
With a rueful glance around he meekly stepped sideways two paces and slid into the chair next to Felia, across the centre aisle from Jake. He quickly bent to the task of getting what he needed out of his satchel, noticing that, like Master Gannor said, the rest of the class were way ahead of him, even Jake!

With a slightly stern look Chalco watched as Jake made his way to his seat, waiting for the youth to find his place before responding. His voice was calm and soft yet there was a hint of reproach to it, the folding of his arms as he stood tall behind the desk adding to the imposing sense of authority he projected.
"Morgan can find her own way to this classroom and needs no assistance in her journey..."
He would keep things even in this class with not the slightest trace of favouritism shown either towards his former students at Yavin IV, or the cherished offspring of Felucia's paramount Jedi. It was often a fine line to walk for Chalco as his eyes narrowed slightly as they continued to pin Jake in his seat with their scrutiny, trying to find the path between being engaging and maintaining the needed distance to assert a small measure of control.
"Keep your own side of the space lanes clean, mister Calmcacil, and allow your sister to attend to hers."
His eyes swept the classroom as he unfolded his arms, placing his hands on the desk and leaning forward. His voice strengthened somewhat, rising in volume to address the class as a whole.
"You all know what time this class starts and should by now have the discipline and forethought to be here on time. It is not so much about the time itself but of respect for myself and your fellow students.
He pushed himself upright and tilted his head to the left, right eyebrow rising.
"Is that clear?"

With her mental nudge Brakus finally seemed to get the picture and abandon his socially suicidal apathy in the central aisle, sliding woodenly into his seat as Felia glanced over her shoulder at Jake. Her huge eyes, nearly violet in the artificial light of the classroom, tracked his movements as he made his way to his chair. She blushed a little as she caught his eyes, flashing him a winsome smile before turning back towards the front of the class, face flushed and warm. She bit her lip at her bodys betrayal, frowning a little as she sought to control her reaction.
Even though she was not quite yet twelve years of age she knew about the bird and the bees, having keenly observed couples such as Dav and Tebana, Jago and Ksandra and, more recently, Aerandir and Cassie. She had seen the bond that could grow and flourish between a boy and a girl, creating a union of sharing that she found rather appealing in her young and, some would probably say, naive mind. She thought nothing of the other... side to such relationships though she was vaguely aware of such carnal duties, preferring to focus on the happiness that seemed manifest. Consequently she had decided that her and Jake would be perfect for such a relationship, though she couldn't seem to get the hang of this flirting thing...
Her frown deepened as Master Gannor went on to chastise her Jake, calling him out in front of the whole class. Morgan too, and she wasn't even here to defend herself! The chewing of the bottom lip gave way to a pout as Master Chalco finished his little speech, her small voice the first to sign out.
"Yes Master Gannor."
She stopped short of thinking the Falleen mean because she knew that not to be the case, the tall reptilian humanoid always kind to her in the past, being the one to have come to take her from her dying aunts on Dathomir. She only had vague memories of that time but had attended many classes with him and had always found him fair and just, never raising his voice or causing hurt. He could be stern sure but was never hostile in the things he did or said, not like nasty old Rutil.
Still, she found herself staring daggers at the Jedi Master as her voice found another target, sliding out of the corner of her mouth towards Brakus' left ear.
"This is your fault!"

"Yes Master Gannor."
His voice echoed Felia's coming barely a moment after, the words mingling with the other members of the class as they too accepted the Falleens statement. Still rummaging through his satchel Brakus finally stilled from ducking down only to continuously rearrange the items he had put on his desk.
While he was grateful to have Master Gannors attention diverted from him he took no pleasure in having it levelled at Jake instead, the boy they had met at the Yavin Praxeum almost eighteen months before being one of the most welcoming children at the Felucia institution. Along with Morgan they had helped the Yavin students settle in, befriending them within moments of their arrival and continuing to be extremely kind and generous.
He glanced sideway with a look of sympathy towards jake before whipping his head back around at Felia's harshly whispered words.
"What? I wasn't the only one late!"
He hissed the words, looking over to Jake who was close enough to hear their exchange. His eyes opened wide in a plea for support, his hands going wide and his shoulders shrugging in bemusement as to her ire.

*Jake winced a little at the initial reproach. That wasn't what he had meant at all! Morgan had been at the base longer than Jake, and much longer than Master Gannor; of course she knew the way around! Better than both of them he was sure! Well, maybe except for restricted access areas... But that wasn't all Master Gannor had to say, stating that Jake should "keep his own side of the space lanes clean" and let Morgan worry about her own.
This... wasn't what Jake had meant at all! None of it!* "That's not what I meant!" *he blurted out indignantly. A quick moment passed before he slowly removed the somewhat-defiant expression from his face and shrank even lower into his seat, adding,* "... Master." *Sitting up once more to explain himself, he continued,* "Morgan is perfectly capable of finding her own way around! I just meant I thought she was coming today, but she isn't here..."
*The need to defend his sister's honor was gonna get him in serious trouble someday, but he wasn't about to let anyone insinuate Morgan was incapable of something she certainly was! Morgan wasn't here, that was it, that was all he'd meant to say; when she came to classes, she was punctual, and she and Jake usually came together, so when she hadn't come with him, he had taken that to mean she wasn't coming today. Even though she said she would come today...
Regardless, Master Gannor made a sweeping statement to the class about punctuality, and how it was a matter of respect to their masters and peers. When asked if that was clear, a still somewhat bitter Jake automatically answered,* "Yes, Master Gannor." *Following this was the hissed exchange between Felia and Brakus, Felia blaming Brakus for the teacher's reproach, Brakus speaking out in defense of himself not being the only one late.
Even before Brakus's defense, Jake had frowned a little, completely oblivious to Felia's intent; he was, indeed, late to class as well, after all. Brakus was giving him that look of plea, as though asking for more defense. Jake glanced up front, really not wanting to draw more ire from the instructor, not even just to say "Don't worry about it," so he merely nodded in support of Brakus but otherwise stayed quiet...*

Satisfied with the chorus of assent that sang out in the classroom Chalco made his way around the desk with casual ease, dropping down off of the front of the podium to stand before the rows of desks. Placing his hands behind his back he moved to the right a little and stopped, emerald gaze drifting over the assembled younglings.
"We have an observer among us today, class. I'd like to introduce Jedi Jevn Marona from the Coruscant Temple who has arrived to join us today..."
He gestured with his left hand to the back of the class where the dark-haired Jedi had taken a seat.

At Jakes nod he turned a satisfied smirk on Felia, taking the other boys gesture as agreement to his words and, therefore, support of his cause. He was cut off from any victory speech by the voice of Master Gannor, the steady tones commanding his attention and drawing his gaze to the front of the class, a little bit surprised to see the Falleen so close having descended from his place on the raised platform. At the gesture to the back of the hall Brakus craned his head around to take in the stranger as a chorus of murmuring as well as the occasional wave found its way towards the back of the class.
Brakus himself offered a wide grin and flashed the man a casual salute before leaning across towards Jake, he voice low so as not to arouse the attention of Master Chalco. The red-headed boy was incorrigible in his conduct, pushing his chances at every opportunity.
"You didn't tell us we'd have a visitor from Coruscant!"
His voice was accusing and indignant, but his grin was easy and forgiving. Because Jake was the child of Aerandir Brakus had assumed from the moment he had found out about the situation that Jake knew everything going on here due to the proximity he had to the leader of the Felucian base. To his young mind such tidbits of information were discussed while the family had breakfast and nothing should be escaping Jake and Morgans notice.
Felia had tried to dissuade him of this assumption but Brakus was difficult to dislodge from an idea once he had it beneath his fiery curls...

Felia also craned her head around to have a look at the Jedi from Coruscant, her hair fanning across her shoulders in a golden stream, but didn't really take much interest in the events. She cast a quick glance at Jake as she faced forward again, her face flushed with annoyance and her lower lip held between her small white teeth.
She could have punched Brakus for managing to get Jake to side with him, the betrayal cutting her to the quick. She steadied her thoughts with considerable effort lest her heightened emotions bleed through into the Force. She consoled herself with the knowledge that boys were stupid and didn't know what they wanted until a strong woman, because that's what she was, told them. Morgan would agree with her, she was sure, but her friend had left her all alone with her brother and stupid Brakus.
She sighed, feeling surrounded by 'enemies', and pulled a stray lock of hair to her mouth, biting down on the unoffending blonde strands savagely.

Jevn tried his hardest not to smile at the antics of the young ones. They thought no one noticed their little whispers, the tilt of their heads. At Coruscant, the behavior would get you thrown out of the classroom, such was the formality of the temple on the planet-city. They had the best of the masters there teaching, and it was considered a great honor to be accepted to that particular academy, given it's place in the Jedi Order as a whole. As such, the young ones and apprentices minded themselves very carefully, knowing they could be replaced in a heartbeat should they not perform to their utmost best. Even though Jevn had been honored to be chosen to be stationed there after his knighting, the formality never quite set right with him. The more relaxed atmosphere was refreshing, though he supposed if he were teaching, the expectations he grew accustomed to on Couscant might come to the fore for behavior in all his classes.
He stood with a smile when Chalco introduced him to the class, ignoring the red-head's outburst. It is a great pleasure to be with you all today. I look forward to getting to know each of you during my station here.

With an expression of serious acknowledgement Chalco inclined his head to Jevn, joining his hands together in front of his chest and dipping his upper body forward before returning his hands to the small of his back. He turned slowly and paced to his left as he spoke, traversing the length of the row of desks in front of him before stopping.
"Thank you, Jedi Marona. We are honoured to have you among us."
With a calm and easy manner he turned again to pace back the other way, his slow gait deliberate and steady.
He liked to move as he taught, the motion aiding thought while he allowed his voice to reach out the the eager minds awaiting instruction. He also moved around when teaching because it forced the children to pay attention, their eyes tracking where he was and opening their ears to what was said. For over six decades he had taught and he had found many a subtle technique to educate his wards.
"So..." His voice was enthused with the excitement he held towards his job, one that he often passed on to his students if lucky. "On with today's lesson."
He had traversed to the far right of the class and back to the middle, stopping and turning to face them as a whole. He was about to speak again while he hesitated, eyes going distant for a moment. A slightly rueful smile crossed his normally stern features and he seemed to mutter something under his breath.
"Great time as usual... One moment class while our last member joins us..."
He looked up towards the double doors at the back of the class...

*The pattering of bare feet upon stone floor was the other indication of someone else's approach, along with her indistinguishable presence in the Force, intertwined with the planet itself. Morgan jogged into the classroom, looking quite rushed, still dressed in her sleeveless dark tan Felucian dress, intricately woven with various tassels, teeth bones of small animals, and stones. The bow and quiver had been replaced with her bag; these signs, along with her hair appearing hastily-brushed and somewhat-disheveled, were a clear indication that she had been in a rush to get here, despite having had plenty of warning earlier.
Stopping just within the entrance to the classroom, she folded her hands before her, bowed and straightened, said,* "Sorry I'm late, Master," *then proceeded to the empty seat beside Jake.
She'd noticed the newcomer adult, but didn't pay much attention nor care right now; her mind was in a completely different place, her focus stolen. In fact, her setting of her bag on the table and removing its items appeared completely mechanical, as though she weren't invested in the answers whatsoever. She knew Jake would wonder why she was late, she knew there was a good chance Master Gannor might make an example of her... or try to. Right now, though, none of those things were of utmost importance to her...*

*Fortunately for Jake, Master Gannor chose not to further focus on Jake, and instead move on to introduce the adult Jake had noticed earlier, Jevn Marona from Coruscant, who was here to be an observer. Well, this certainly probably was far from a good first impression... And suddenly Brakus was accusing Jake of not telling them they were going to have a visitor today. The small boy's emerald eyes widened; what kind of accusation was that?!*
"I didn't know!" *Jake whispered back defensively. Seriously, how was he supposed to know that! It wasn't like his dad told him everything that went on in the base or anything!
Jedi Marona stood to introduce himself, then Master Gannor began to proceed with the lesson. Or was about to, when something apparently caught his— Jake perked up and he looked toward the back of the classroom, sensing Morgan long before he head her bare feet smacking their way into the classroom. And when she appeared, he smiled in relief... but also confusion. She came! But she was late... And still wearing that Felucian dress, even though she never wore it to class. And had no shoes. And her hair wasn't properly brushed all the way. But she was here!
After she apologized for her tardiness and took her seat, Jake gave her a questioning look, preferring not to speak again; there had been far enough of that already. Clearly something was on her mind, he could not only sense it, but see it in the way she automatically unloaded her bag. Something had happened along the way... and he was concerned for her.*

Chalco returned the solemn bow that Morgan offered him with a slight twitch of the lip and watched as the small girl made her way to her seat. He allowed a moment for the class to settle, the slow murmur of hushed conversation rising then dropping before he finally stilled it with a clearing of his throat.
"Glad you could join us, Morgan.."
His voice was wryly amused, containing just enough reproach to convey that he expected better. Their conversation earlier ran through his mind briefly and while he knew she had other things on her mind he was reluctant to allow that to excuse tardiness. For now though he would let it go lest the class never truly begin.
"Okay. Now that we are all here..." He cast a mistrustful glance at the door which brought a few muted chuckles. "We shall begin."
He once again began to pace, strolling down to the right then turning and beginning a slow circle of the small desks behind which the children sat. His voice was calm and controlled as he move, plenty loud enough to convey to every person in the room.
"What can anyone tell me about the Yuuzhan Vong?"
He felt the topic pertinent considering the events of earlier today and he watched Morgan closely as he wandered past where she and Jake sat. They had been looking into the history of the galaxy and he thought he'd move things a bit closer by focussing on a more recent series of events...

Brakus feigned a pout and stuck his tongue out at Jake following his freinds defensive denial. He quickly transformed the expression into a smile and watched as Morgan flapped her way to her place. He was going to offer a comment but Master Gannor put an end to thoughts of idle chit chat, his voice ringing out as he began the class.
He didn't like it when Master Gannor did this wandering walk around the class. It made the boy uneasy and he always got a sore neck by trying to track the movements the old Falleen made. This time he vowed not to turn and kept his gaze fixed on the podium at the from, veins standing out on his neck with the effort of resisting his instinct to crane around.
His hand shot up at the question, his hips twisting him so he could face the teacher as he bounced with excitement, all thoughts of maintaining his gaze front forgotten in the face of his eagerness.
Always eager. Always first. That was Brakus Sev...
At a nod from the reptilian humanoid Brakus dropped his arm and lifted his voice.
"They are a humanoid alien race from outside of our galaxy."
