Figured this might be easier to help get things organized. Feel free to add to it.
Here's what's going on at the moment:
1. The Empire is weakened after the Mando War. As such, Sinistra is concentrating on diplomacy to help bring new systems into the Empire while the Army and Navy are rebuilt.
2. This doesn't mean Sinistra isn't trying to stir the pot. She has blackmailed Galdaart Fel and a couple others who had no love for the Dark Tide into running jobs that frame the Republic and non-Imperials for growing unrest on worlds where the diplomacy is not coming along very well.
3. The borders with non-Imperial worlds are about to close. The new economic policies of the Empire will be announced soon.
4. There are some skirmishes with rebel forces in the Deep Core who disagree with the IR's dissolution into the Empire. New Moff Nicademus Delvardus will be heading up the Empire's forces in the DC to help quell the rioting.
5. Major is about to be sent on her next assignment to bring in the old Order of the Eye worlds. Sinistra will be bringing in Dromund Kaas and afterwards, we will begin a campaign to occupy Honoghr. Peaceful occupation. We're not steamrolling anything there. We're working with their writer base to bring a new SL to life.
As an aside, there are an awful lot of xenophobics in the Empire. Sinistra is not, and her policies do not tolerate that behavior. Those who serve under the Empire's banner are warned that the consequences of such reckless disregard for the Emperor's vision are dire and to engage in such tactics while the Empire rebuilds its might is tantamount to treason for it strengthens the Republic's hold on contested worlds. Alien inhabited worlds will not be willing join if their populations will be slaughtered. So OOC, I don't care what you do, it's your SL, your characters. IC, Sinistra will care. A lot.
And this is a cold war, not an open war. I have no intention of taking half the boards on JvS by force just because the user base is small and we'd be unopposed. That's no fun. So let's focus on the the foundations of the Cold War setting. Subterfuge, small border skirmishes, some rebellions and civil wars.

Glad to see this thread is up.
To elaborate upon point 4, it will turn into a proxy war during this Cold War phase between the Empire and the Republic. That is the aim for these riots. Their transformation from simple riots to a full scale civil war within the Deep Core to a proxy war in which the Republic lends support to rebellious Imperials.
Much of the old IR members are in on it, Major and Gideon as well as those of the Republic are interested.
All are welcomed to NPC characters or to join in the campaign against the traitors.

On the note of things happening I am doing something at the Solomon Mines. Some 30 mercenaries have been hired by an unknown guy to secure the mines and destroy the orbital guns there. As fun as it is to do things myself it's always more fun with others so anyone is welcome to join.

I would like to let everyone know that I am invading and nuking all non human plane---
Ooop. Wrong thread.
I am holding position at Argaruuaugamaga until the Nic returns to the Deep Core, that way I can have Gideon transfer over. I don't know if that will speed anything up. I just thought it would be odd to leave his character alone without allies, since he is a Colonel and all.

You sneaky bugger. Well played sir. I am also interested more in the quality of the story, rather than how quickly it progresses. If you ever had any dealings with me back in the good ole' pioneer days on Facebook, you'll know what I mean. The entire team of us was committed to exceptional posting standards. I certainly miss those days...but so far it's going very well. And I'd rather make stuff of legends now, than focus on what was.
