-Aya This? This is a nice fun party to cut loose at. What else did you expect?Aya's writer, Admy, nods her head, after all, mandos throw the best parties. It was like Vegas, but with more booze & less consequences. I didn't even know there was a party here. I have absolutely no idea how I got here or why. Adelle bit back those words; she had a feeling she knew who was responsible for her being here. It seemed like every opportunity to force her to be fancy had to be taken. Why, she didn't know."To be honest, I had no expectations. I'm a little surprised at finding myself invited to such a fancy gathering but I thank you nonetheless," she said. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to try and drink your bartender dry. You're more than welcome to join me. I wouldn't mind getting to know you better." Might as well flirt while she could, while there were no real consequences, right?

NC picked up his third shot, and snorted at her comment about small talk. He tended to avoid it as much as possible, thus his pretense of only being here on official business, an easy out if he needed it. So much for that idea, at least things ... well that's no longer relevant. My turn to toast? Osik, what the devil was there even left besides the dead and family? eh, it wasn't like he had any younglings to toast to... eh, why not? Let's see if the Jetii can drink to the old man's achievements. To the Infinite Imperium, then.I chuck the liquid to the back of my throat, since my long bill made sipping ... well, significantly less than feasible in polite company. I'm moderately surprised she chose to stick with the corellian whiskey, I'd chosen it out of familiarity, but perhaps it was sufficient for her need at them moment. I glance back out at the room, wondering when Aya had found time to change... Though, the new gown did suit her better than the armor had. "Very well," she replied, aware that the beskar-clad Mando'ad was probably trying to push her buttons, finishing the whisky before pulling over the first glass of tihaar as the bartender had obeyed her earlier signal. She followed Non-Com's glance over at Aya. She wondered if the other woman would find time to talk to her later. And then she quit wondering about things, instead focusing on the moment. She sipped the tihaar slowly, enjoying the burn in her esophagus.
There was no easy way to ask what she wanted to know. There probably wasn't even a polite way. The old Jedi was surprised to find that she really, truly didn't even care. "What happened? I need to know." Obviously she was referring to Z'har's demise. Even though she knew he had passed on, she needed to know how, why, and more importantly, who was responsible.

"Your precious Force won't tell you?"
Another shot, this one a tihaar, and one of buir's special blends... He reached for one of belt pouches and withdrew a data chip, and set it before Jade on the bar. It contained the official report from the task force sent to reclaim the Admiral. It didn't say much, building severely damaged, multiple casualties form multiple parties, the mess had been somewhat extensive. Bits of the Admiral's armor had been strewn around one of the larger blast epicenters, suggesting that he was the epicenter in his last moments, or otherwise wrapped around it. Security footage was to far shot to recover more than scattered fragments of the fights between the other parties. Z'har had kept out of sight, or just been in areas to damaged to recover anything meaningful.
"Or'garum tracyn. Best as we can we figure, he went down fighting."
Great ball o' fire.

Dark eyebrows arched quizzically and she eyed him with a frown as she slipped the datachip into her own belt pouch. It seemed he was trying to deliberately provoke her. Perhaps she'd misjudged him and his allegiance to his aliit. But, it wasn't for herself she was fighting anymore. She took a long drink of tihaar. It was refreshing, and fiery, and brought back a lot of memories. Perhaps she should have tried to talk with Aya. As another complicated being she might have been more willing to accept of an unorthodox family member. In fact, as far as she knew Aya might already be aware of the complication.
"That is not how the Force works, as you are certainly old enough to know," she informed him. "And what we had was not based upon the Force in the first place. Given his technological adaptations a symbiotic relationship with living microscopic organisms was not possible," she smiled, "it didn't matter to us anyway. I don't know if he ever told you or not, but I was not always a Jedi. And there are times where my beliefs have certainly not aligned with the Council. Z'har was able to look deeper and understand, instead of taking a shallow stance based upon what was easy to believe."
Of course he'd gone down fighting. It was what he'd have wanted. Jade did not grudge him that. Although, she wished he could have delayed it. She'd always thought that she would be the one to die first. Unfortunately, it hadn't worked out that way. And now there was a complication. A major complication. And if Non-Com wasn't willing to unbend his mindset just a hair, it might be a problem.
"My turn. You've tried to insult me, so now, what about your ideal aliit?" she challenged, "Do you believe in family, in clan, only when it's easy? Only when it's not complicated? It's easy to judge someone else---"you're a Jedi," or "you're a Mandalorian"----it's easy to put someone in a box. But what are you going to do when you have to make a choice about who your family is? Z'har believed I was family." She took another drink, green eyes glowing as she eyed him over the glass, "I'm not asking you to like me. Family doesn't have to like each other. But when it comes to it, family stands with family. I need to know if you're willing to do that. Not right now, maybe not tomorrow, but someday, you have to decide. I need to know if we can work together, for the man you used to call buir."

Osik females can be so dramatic... No wonder NCO preferred the voids emptiness to companions and society. NC took his next two shots simultaneously, gripping the glasses between splayed fingers, and chucking the contents into the back of this mouth. Well, fine, it's Aya's party, it Aya's mess, let's escalate this straight to ten and see how long it lasts.
"My problem with you shabla jetii, is that you think you can waltz in and expect the aliit to foot your bills and keep you comfy, just because the old man liked you. You want my respect? Act like the Aliit you've been since he took you in and stop thinking that just because aruetii do things a certain way, I'm going to act in a similar fashion. Maybe you didn't know before but I became a mando'ade to get away from aruetii who acted just like you are now. Always demanding gifts and privileges because they sucked the right dick, or in this case data probe. Now, if you're done acting like a pregnant teen... osik'la"
My eyes suddenly narrow as I turn towards her, and open my left hand palm towards Jade's stomach. The neural link at the base of my neck allowing me to process the short range medical bio-scanner's results. If my hunch proved accurate I was going to need the rest of that bottle of tihaar... haran, I'd be needing the rest of that case in short order. Though this might complicate Aya's plans somewhat she'd handle the diplomatic/political implications... and I could be wrong. Damn scanner always did like to run slow when I needed a quick answer. And this is officially way beyond ten, in case anyone was wondering...

Jade nearly snorted the rest of her tihaar. And that really is not a good way to enjoy tihaar. Her eyes narrowed as she set the now-empty glass back down on the counter. For a second, she had thought that perhaps running into Non-Com was going to have a positive outcome. Obviously she'd reckoned too fast. Despite the fact it was a party, she slid a more than necessary amount of credit chips across the counter. It was the principle of the thing.
"You would have belonged in the barracks I was raised in," she finally said in a flat tone. "Acting the way you accuse me of behaving." How was he to know that she'd spent decades alone? She'd been raised in a very strict military tradition and joined the fleet. She'd ended up working as a mercenary. She'd learned to use the Force. But, all he could see was the Jedi. Perhaps it was the helmets. Mandalorians didn't seem to get very much fresh air. She supposed that required a limited mindset. Attacking him would have been a relief. It would have felt amazing. It would also have been beneath her dignity. Clearly respect wasn't all that important if he was attempting to provoke her in such a fashion. And she didn't have time to deal with petty distractions. There was too much at stake.
The small woman laughed as she stood up, though it stopped at her lips, never reaching her eyes. "You're a bit behind schedule for that," she remarked. She deliberately folded her arms and looked up at the much taller Mando. "You talk very big for someone who wears so much armor and hides his face." While he may have succeeded in guessing her secret she knew he hadn't grasped the depth of it. He was still thinking of a future event, perhaps in order to prevent it.
She was bloody furious. And also sad. She was old enough to protect herself, but someone else wasn't. Jade felt a flicker of fear and almost didn't recognize it for what it was. When she'd first run into Non-Com at this event she'd been surprised at the initial lack of hostility, and to be honest she'd rather been hoping for another old warrior to drink with and share stories of Z'har. She should've known. More than that, she was looking for someone to---well, there was no way in hell she was going to talk to NC about it now. She'd die unannounced and the Elements would find her on their own. Second thought, another shot of tihaar would be nice. She picked up her other glass and drained it in a gulp.

The scan completed and he read through every detail, effectively spacing out for a moment, though he was vaguely aware of the world around him. No, she wasn't currently pregnant, but she was or had recently been breast feeding a child... He did the match in his head. If she had been with buir shortly before or after their own meeting on Corellia, the timing would be about right... the kid should be about eleven to fourteen months. Why couldn't she just say that? Was she really that ignorant of the Resol'nare? He doubted it, but decided he'd remind her just in case.
He signaled to the barkeep, he'd be needing a couple bottles after all, still, not the entire case... yet. Dear manda, what if she'd had more than one... Eh, the more merrier as far he was concerned. The bottles arrived, and he immediately tossed one over his shoulder in a high arc that would terminate either in Aya's hand, or the ground just in front of her. He grabbed the remaining bottle, and a shot glass, and began shooing the angry Jetii towards a booth large enough for six human sized beings to sit comfortably, as he spoke, in a jovial tone. Jade could clearly feel the elation rolling off of him.
"Ba'jurir is one of six actions that forms the core of mandolorian culture; do you know it jetii? I had thought you knew of the resol'nare, but now I wonder. Ba'jurir is the word for raising, educating, training, and equipping our children. Tell me silly jetii, are you so used to fighting my kind that you forgot Z'har's own works? True, he wasn't a perfect buir, but even Marcos, the renegade child, is doing well for himself in the First Order. You may have been his last lover, but you were not his first love. Aliit and Ba'jurir... dear ashla you are a dense woman."
I wave Aya and her companion over to our booth, Aya needed to know, and the other... well, if she were a problem, she'd be dealt with in kind. But I'll brun that bridge when I get to it, not before. Another sibling, perhaps siblings? I size the jetii up wondering if she looked worn out enough to be raising a litter of z'harlings on her own... hmm, maybe not. Then again, perhaps she'd just had plenty of time to rest on the way to the ball. What was the limit for humans again? I recall reading about octuplets somewhere... pretty sure that was a medical journal, a special proceedure. Naturally? Isn't sextuplets the record? or was it pentuplets? ... I grin at the thought of trying to keep p with that many Z'harlings all at once, even with a helper... Even one would be a night mare in a few years. NC couldn't wait to meet the ad'ike.
I slide into the booth and pour myself and anyone with a glass at the table a shot of tihaar, and then toast with the single word Ba'jurir.

Without bothering to look in the direction of the rather impressively thrown bottle, Aya snags it out of the air one handed. Popping the cork with her thumb, she takes a quick swig before glancing over to where her brother was waving to get her attention. With a strange little half turn, she was already sitting at the table he was setting glasses out on, whether her current conversation partner came along for the ride or not was up to Miss Bastiel.
-Aya Vod'ika are you picking fights again? Don't mind him too much, it is just how he says hello. A nice punch or brawl & he friendlies right up.
The second part was obviously aimed at Ael, though the opening had been a jab at Non. At the toast of Ba'jurir, she sent a sharp glance at Ael. A couple quick calculations & one very quick chain of logic later saw her ignoring the drink on the table & instead downing about a third of the bottle she was holding, passing it to the suddenly appeared Tahu. This was quickly becoming a private event & anyone seeking to join them at the table would find their way likely barred by a maniacally giggling writer in camo. Tahu, who had been enjoying a nice night alone with a book while Aya was under the protection of OOC magic, suddenly found herself caught up with Aya's mental train in order to save time. She also used the moment to down more of the bottle, though not as much as her lover had.
-Tahu Osik. So how many are we talking about here? Also, congratulations.
Aya glanced over in surprise, gold eyes meeting green for a short moment. Tahu did not usually speak in mixed company, or even small groups. She much preferred to remain the silent, vigilant support for Aya. Even with her well beyond superhuman mind, Aya couldn't recall the last time Tahu had spoken to a group this large. Or even if she had ever spoken at all to her little brother.

Well the speed with which Non-Com's emotions and feelings switched gears would've left an x-wing pilot slumped in the seat with a minor case of blackout. In fact, she could practically see the lightbulb shining on top of his buy'ce. The moment of frozen shock was quite gratifying. She allowed herself to be seated, muttering half under her breath, "one would almost think you'd given birth yourself!" While children were naturally indispensable to society it was sometimes hard not to view the whole getting fat, having another being living inside one for Fire's sake, as a complete inconvenience. Not to mention it left one feeling a bit vulnerable and all, with the concurrent mood swings and sudden acquisition of a devilish temper. Also, it was pretty darned undignified. But, well, the result was worth it. She just wished Z'har had been around for it. Not the actual event. That would have been humiliating. But to see his child of course. However, that did not change her lack of confidence in herself as a mother. Given her past history, dealing with a child again opened a lot of old wounds.
She gladly drank more tihaar. The tingling sensation that was itching in her fingertips was pleasant. Also, the painful emptiness inside didn't seem quite so overbearing. Of course NC had been irritated, but not everyone put aliit first. Her family had split in half and devoured itself. And they had been blood kin. She shrugged, and the Jedi's writer tried not to inhale her tea at the idea of octuplets! Although it would be hilarious to have triplets, just to see the look on everyone's IC face...
"Dense? Says the person who clearly has no empath skills and armor thick enough to turn blaster bolts," she grimaced, really, the mental image of NC on the floor with her knife stuck in his neck and blood spurting everywhere was pleasing in a primal sense. Although wasteful. However, Aya thought it'd cheer him up and push the "friendly" button. "Maybe you're right. It did take us more than half a century---which seems like so much lost time in retrospect." She settled for tihaar, swiping the bottle and refilling everyone's glasses. She knew Aya of course, although her companion was new. From her perspective. And it was easy to see the two of them were close. She narrowed her eyes for a second, returning Aya's glance. Z'har's entire family seemed to be good at landing on their feet. She felt herself starting to relax, and frankly it was about damn time. "I approached with courtesy and he reacted like a wounded vornskr, except not as dangerous," she clinked glasses with Aya, "I meant to imply that I was not going to encroach on his territory."
Jade smiled at Tahu, "Errrr, just the one, thanks. She's quite enough, you wouldn't believe what she's already managed to get into."

NCO enjoyed his drinks, he shrugged noncommittally when accused of picking a fight. If he'd wanted a fight, he'd have shot someone. Still, he knew he wasn't the smoothest stone in the pond, it was pretty easy to catch his rough edges. He cast a curious glance at Aya's companion, having never been officially introduced. Still, it wasn't hard to guess at who she was. She had an excellent question, and NC returned his attention to Jade. He'd largely ignored her disparaging muttering. Why would anyone bother with armor if wasn't going to turn a blaster bolt or three? He remained unperturbed by Jade's edginess. It probably indicated a desire to cause him harm, but he wasn't too worried about it. He did find himself short a bottle of tihaar unexpectedly, and was almost angry, but his glass stayed full so he let it pass. As for not believing what the little Zharling could, much less would, get into... well that was a bet he'd take. He'd spent the last twenty years with two of Zhar's spawn. Albiet, Marcos had ducked out early to go play with his FO friends, but NC still kept loose tabs on the man. Aya most would consider almost normal, but that was because the things she got into stayed behind closed doors. Mostly various diplomatic and political intrigues, but apparently also one Tahu. Marcos... well, it was much easier to see the messes he got into and out of, with his brawn and brutality. Between the two, there were almost limitless possibilities. It was probably for the galaxies best that the two weren't on good terms.
"Does the ad'ika have a name or do you just call her by a designation? You jetii are weird about your younglings..."

Popping the cork with her thumb, she takes a quick swig before glancing over to where her brother was waving to get her attention. With a strange little half turn, she was already sitting at the table he was setting glasses out on, whether her current conversation partner came along for the ride or not was up to Miss Bastiel. Adelle found herself transported with the hostess, suddenly surrounded by more Mandalorians than she felt comfortable with. Her writer, quite cross with real life events and circumstances, told her to grow a pair of beskar and get over it. It wasn't like Adelle was less badass. And while true—though Adelle doubted the badass part, these were still people that had fought a crusade against the Jedi roughly three years ago. Whether or not they could tell she was a Jedi was another thing; her lightsaber was not on her person. It still did not comfort her.
But she wasn't entirely alone. An older woman, human-looking if not human herself, gave off a definite Jedi vibe. And an ancient vibe.Adelle accepted a glass of tihaar and shot it back to avoid outing herself with indignation. Who the kriff did this Mando think he was? Needling a Jedi was one thing. Needling an ancient Jedi was another. They had time enough to master the Force, understand its nature, and shape it to their ends. He danced on thin ice."Pardon the interruption," she said quietly. "But it is my understanding that Jedi are people as well, strange though their religion is. Designations are, usually, a droid thing." Adelle held the glass with two hands, wishing she was out of her fancy clothing and in her more comfortable cargo pants and tank top. The dress she wore felt unusually restrictive and this whole gathering, despite its stated celebratory nature, just felt like a ticking thermal detonator.

NC looked at the newest arrival, and scowled. She wasn't mando'ade, that was obvious enough, and she had the audacity to interrupt aliit business with trifling technicality and simple semantics, also there was a rather long historical precedent for the Jedi armies to have designations, the worst being the army of Jango's bred for the purpose of overthrowing the republic senate. Still, he cared more for the answer to his question than the trivial history lesson and merely muttered something unkind about aruetii under his breath. He was quite curious about his newest sibling, and wondered if he'd have the pleasure of meeting her anytime soon. He wondered if he should mention he technically had a son now... though, that writer has been having rather spotty availability of late, so it's kind of a moot point. He returns his focus to the Jetii he'd addressed; apparently ignoring, for now, the impertinent interruption.

Aya snorted into her bottle at Ael's return jab. The mental image of Non in a maternity unit was one she would treasure.
-Aya Knight Bastiel, My Brother Non-Com. Vod'ika, jetii'verd Bastiel. In our clan, that isn't even a droid thing. We consider them just as valuable & as free as any purely organic being. My brother has a bit of a temper where jedi are concerned. I suggest all three of you drop it for the remainder of the conversation. Or take it out to the ballroom floor to blow off the steam. Just try not too get too much blood on my floor, the marble is a pain to clean blood out of.
With that little bit of peace enforced, Aya turned her attention back to the important details.
-Aya My sister, tell me everything about her.
Despite her words, it was clear it was less of an order & more of a request. She was annoyed that Master Ael had managed to slip under her radar long enough to have a child by her father. But that shouldn't have been too surprising given someone special enough to draw her father's eye.

Jade's writer is pretty sure she felt her bones creak with ancientness as she settled into her chair with a wry smile and a crack or two of the old joints! However, she worked on a post anyway, in spite of her arthritic finger bones...
Ael smiled as the other Jedi joined the group. Her reaction was quite satisfactory although she'd never admit it. The indignation on her behalf was pleasant, although she agreed with Aya. She slid a glass of tihaar over to Adelle, "You're from the Felucian academy, right?" She never been there, but she was aware of its existence. There were a lot of things she'd meant to do at one point, however, the Force kept throwing curve balls at her. "He's a bit prejudiced, but it's in the family you might say," it wasn't much of an explanation, but she imagined Non'Com's father figure's marriage to a Jedi had been rather a shock.
"She's neither #8472 nor the Infant Inconvenience," perhaps the tihaar was finally starting to do its job. Z'har's absence was less of a gaping emptiness in her psyche at the moment, although, perhaps the company was doing its part as well. It was good to be able to actually talk about her daughter for instance. And Aya seemed enthusiastic. "Naturally, she will choose her own name one day, but she usually answers to Zaryna. Especially if it's accompanied by a shout." The poor child already had several names, and was in some danger of becoming a byword at the Academy, but Ael really hadn't felt like naming her after herself, and honestly, she thought Z'har would've been proud of the little girl if he'd been around to see her. She pulled out a small holophoto from one of her belt pouches and handed it to Aya. Big green eyes stared a mischievous challenge up at her, and tiny horns could be seen poking through curly black hair. One of her hands was tightly clenched around what looked like an animal tail, though the picture didn't show who it belonged to.
"Everything, huh?" Jade positively grinned, "That would take awhile. I had to inform her that my lightsaber was not an appropriate teething device, and---you remember, Selaya? Your father gave me a vornskr, not a tame one either, the first time we fought on Galantos." She had to stop a moment, sparks had absolutely lit up her eyes as the mental image resurfaced, "well, I had thought she couldn't get up to much in my quarters while I briefly popped out to talk to Serrin, but Selaya jumped in through the window. A few minutes later I heard an animalistic screech followed by yells that clearly indicated a temper." Her heart had nearly stopped for a few seconds. While she and the vornskr got on well enough, they were predatory animals and she had very sharp fangs. "Anyway, when I jumped through the doorway, Zaryna was flat on the floor with her little hands wrapped around Selaya's tail wordlessly lecturing the large feline. I guess she was more surprised than hurt, but Selaya started licking her face---and a vornskr's tongue is rough. It's weird, but I think she's adopted the girl, looks at her like she's some sort of hairless cat with very small teeth and no tail."

"Yavin, actually." Well, she couldn't escape bias herself so she supposed she could forgive the Mando his. Jade had a point and it was pointy, however selfish she felt like being. Adelle picked up the glass of tihaar, noting the notes of fruity notiness. It wasn't often that she had tihaar. Whyren's Reserve was her usual top-shelf go-to. She sipped and savored its bite, the way the flavor serpentined around her mouth before striking her throat. "We all have our vices."
It was hard not to notice how very invested Jade was in her daughter, nor how interested Aya was in her sister. Having just been informed by Aya's writer that this was quite literally a royal family, Adelle almost felt like she was in a live audience watching a holonet soap opera. Idly she wondered if the writers would throw in incest, beheadings, and winter zombies. Could even call it the Throne of Games. Or was it the reverse? That could be a long-running hit on the holonet for decades. People loved a good drama, so long as they weren't involved.

Zaryna? Zaryn'ika... NC approved of the name, not that anyone present cared about his opinion on the matter. Probably with good reason, but that's less pertinent to the story at hand. NC's writer... declines to enter the fray at this time. NC leans towards Aya to look over her shoulder at the hologram, He'd be keeping an eye out for that little one in the near future. He wondered if Jade had ... well, probably not, but that was the point of the conversation wasn't it? Was it? Did any of the aliit discussions really have a point? Probably not, at least not in this aliit. NC continues to largely ignore Knight Bastiel, his aliit's fondness for requiting jetii didn't bother him much, but befriending aruetii that had no desire to join... that was just asking for trouble in his calculating and somewhat jaded mind. Ba'jurir, right so ... how exactly was that going to work out? only way way to be certain. NC turned his focus back to Jade and asked, his emotional state still pleasant, and curious, for all his jabs and slights.
So then Jade, since Ba'jurir seems to be on your mind; what do you anticipate it looking like for Zaryn'ika? Will she be staying with you as you wander the stars jetii? Will she be left to a tutor or a relative to raise as they see fit? How would you like this princess raised and educated?
Personally, were he in her shoes, he'd keep the kid with him at all times. Sure he'd have to let others take the nasty jobs without him, and that would be missed, but the time with ad'ika was priceless and to be treasured above all else. Still, if the jetii wanted to avoid entanglement and peril for the child, particularly in the younger years, leaving her with Aya or an appointed tutor/surrogate buir would also be suitable, if more taxing for Jade and the child as they learned to live apart from each other. He looked forward to taking her hunting one day. Maybe just for a Kryat on the first hunt, nothing too dangerous.

Incest was rather unlikely, at least for the current generation. But a few beheadings never went amiss. Aya noticed her bottle had somehow refilled itself while she wasn't watching, so she passed it back to Tahu for another round. She couldn't help but nod in agreement at the mention of vices.
-Aya I do remember that beast. I was rather young at the time, but the capturing took a bit of doing from the rumors flying around.
Aya kept a placid face, but she was just as keen as Non to hear Ael's reply. For a moment of distraction, she decided to throw another little flirt at The knight. Jedi were always so fun to tease. That & if the bait was taken, Tahu always appreciated help keeping Aya busy.
-Aya Oh? & what vices to you indulge in, my little knight?

Adelle had the good graces to blush slightly from the implications of Aya's flirtation, but an impish, crooked grin spread across her face. Her brother might not be fun but the Empress herself was.
"Wouldn't you like to know? There's a reason I'm a good knight," she said with a wink. She drained her glass of tihaar, letting it burn all the way down her throat. Things were much more fun when she was much less sober.

And thusly Non-Com touched upon the heart of the issue. Jade was glad she'd had plenty of tihaar by this point, although there would definitely be some more in the immediate future. Speaking of which, she picked up the bottle she'd nicked from him earlier and re-filled his glass since he'd been staring at it dolefully for the past few minutes before topping up her own and taking a long drink. She grimaced as the burn hit her throat. "She cannot stay with me," it turned out to be harder than she'd anticipated given the short amount of time the child had been in her life anyway. But it was too late to regret anything now, and if she looked back she'd only end up ruining everything...
"When Z'har died something inside me broke, and I can feel the beginning of the end, the lingering darkness just out of reach at the corner of one's eye---" she really didn't know how to explain it, and being a private individual she was not good at acknowledging depth of feeling. "I will arrange for her to be sent here, or wherever you and Aya choose, but I would like her to be brought up with the D'Ordinii." She smiled faintly, glancing over at Aya, who she knew very well was paying attention even though she appeared to be indulging in a bit of flirtation with Adelle, right in front of Tahu...an eyebrow arched quizzically.
Jade figured that Non-Com would have no problem looking after Zaryna and teaching her the Resol'nare. But he might have a problem later. However, she was out of options and in the end it didn't matter. He was family. Z'har placed absolute trust in his family. So would she. "I wish her to be given the soul of a warrior, but ---akh, you know what I mean. I don't want her to be coddled and such. But I want her to have what I didn't, people to depend on. If I had not become so isolated perhaps I would not have run from what your buir offered me the first time. I don't want her to make my mistakes." While she was a Jedi herself, her core being went back further, to before she'd been a Jedi. She picked up the bottle of tihaar and refilled her glass with a grumble, feeling rather like an idiot and not enjoying it in the slightest.
"Tell her I ---loved her and was proud of her. You will know when." She set down her glass a bit shakily and reached for her lightsaber. She unclipped it from her belt and thumbed the activation switch. Its familiar green blade ignited with the usual snap-hiss for a second before she closed it down and slid it over to Non-Com. "When she's ready give her this, and tell her I was a Jedi." The petite woman faded a bit, like part of her soul had gone missing, but the resolve never left her tone and her eyes never flinched.

NC vastly appreciated the refilled glass, and displayed his approval by promptly emptying it again. The warmth it spread through him was apparently much less notable than it was in other species; yay bio-chemistry. Still, the inebriating affect worked the same, the tolerance levels were just different, by an order of magnitude or two. He didn't much pay attention to the idle banter between the other jetii and Aya, though he did distinctly hear Bastiel proclaim herself to be "a good night" and filed it away for later use. He waited patiently for the obviously struggling jetii to put her words in order. "She cannot stay with me," That is regrettable, but not unforeseen. There were many valid reasons for offspring to be raised by surrogates. "When Z'har died something inside me broke, and I can feel the beginning of the end, the lingering darkness just out of reach at the corner of one's eye---" It' one thing to look death in the eye on the field of battle, another entirely to match his gaze through a mirror as he watches you over your shoulder. That was understandable. In and of it self, it wasn't much but life had a way of piling things on."I will arrange for her to be sent here, or wherever you and Aya choose, but I would like her to be brought up with the D'Ordinii." NC nodded acceptance of this arrangement. He wasn't eager to claim responsibility for the child, but he knew that Aya had quite a bit on her plate as it was and so the ba'jurir of this child would likely be his de facto if not out right de jure. "I wish her to be given the soul of a warrior, but ---akh, you know what I mean. I don't want her to be coddled and such. But I want her to have what I didn't, people to depend on. If I had not become so isolated perhaps I would not have run from what your buir offered me the first time. I don't want her to make my mistakes." NC again nodded, that was what every good parent wanted. A stable, or at least encouraging environment for their child and for their child to learn from the parent's mistakes and so, theoretically, lead a better life. That would be no issue, no matter where in the clan the ad'ika ended up. Mandolorians had two great past times, war and adoption. Some were better at one or the other, but all believed in usefulness and necessity of both."Tell her I ---loved her and was proud of her. You will know when." NC's shifted toward a more guarded disposition, though he was still of good cheer, a lurking darkness might be seen if one looked deep enough."When she's ready give her this, and tell her I was a Jedi." I reach for the bottle of tihaar, now mostly empty, but suddenly divert my hand's course into a solid back hand across Jade's face. She was trying to run from her fears? and leave her own ad to face the void with others because she, Jade, was afraid of their future together? Even jetii knew better than that! I let my arm drop to my side, and return my hand to the table before me, making it clear, that further action was currently deemed unnecessary, by me anyways."Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony. Death, yet the Force."
"Dikut, at least remember your own code jeti Jade. Meh gar kyrayc, shuk bah Zaryna. You want to her to be raised in the aliit, fine. But that doesn't give you the right to give into fear. You've fought to long and hard to do that now. My buir would not have loved a hutuun, so I know you are not one, yet your request is that of a hutuun. Get a grip on yourself. Yes, this galaxy is full of darkness, yes we all must march far away from those we love someday. But that day is not this day, nor the next. My buir believed in and loved you, and now so must I; though I doubt you'll be as fond of me as you ever were of him. I can accept this, but do not dare dishonor him now with cowardice. That I cannot and will not accept. You chose him and he chose you. Like it or not Jade, you're aliit now, and mando's don't let their brothers fall alone. It's not in our manda. So have another drink, and let it be to your life with Zaryna, however long you have left."This time I actually grab the bottle of tihaar and top off glasses around the table, my own last, then toss the empty bottle towards the bartender who is not as aware of his surroundings as Aya and yelps in surprise as the bottle shatters at his feet. I raise my glass in toast once more. saying my toast in mando'a and basic, as I wasn't certain that the "good night" understood more than the odd phrase in mando'a."Begar ca'nara tome. Your time together."
