Time will tell, youngling. For now, you are to accompany me to the training hall. We must see which style of light-saber combat suits you best.I turn and walk down the hall, expecting him to follow, but not checking. I walked through the halls towards the training hall. I see several rooms are already in use, not uncommon here, and select an empty room for my purposes. Opening one of my pockets, I pull out several cylindrical instruments, training sabers to be specific, and lay them on a low table near by. I arrange them by type, one shoto saber, one regular saber, one dual-blade saber, and one light whip, with retractable filament, conspicuously missing is a replica of my own light-pike. I set each one down with an audible thump, and tell Xenas to take his pick of what was on the table, and then to engage the three remotes that he was undoubtedly familiar with due to his basic saber training with the other younglings. Once Xenas makes his selection, he need only say "begin" for the remotes to begin their simulated assault. This was a test of skill, focus, and natural ability. "Yes, Master." He said, walking out behind the Stenax. They walked down the hall in silence. Shihab's head moved left... right... left... Each time he walked passed and moved farther down the hall. He was looking for a room, none in particular. This was going to be a test. Once a room was occupied, the Stenax quickly walked over to a table. Without instruction, Xenas closed the door behind him and waited. Small thuds, like that of metal being placed on wood broke the silence. Then he relieved his directions. Choose. On the table were multiple items of different sizes, each if them glowing faintly with the Force. More than the common inanimate object. These were training sabers. While he has been taught about the multiple kinds of Lightsabers in the galaxy, he had only received formal training in one: the standard Lightsaber. Still, this would be an important choice to make. The Shoto lightsaber. It was just as heavy as a standard sized blade, but smaller. Good for defensive and offensive assistance. Poor choice as a stand-alone blade. The Lightwhip. Ill advised if there is no prior training with a whip. The Double-bladed saber. Two blades for double the attack power. Mostly considered a Sith weapon, some Jedi have chosen this particular weapon to combat evil in the galaxy. He took the Shoto lightsaber in his left hand and the standard lightsaber in his right. This was the most all-around choice, with the capability of maximizing offense and defense, respectively. With his choice made, Xenas turned to his teacher and ignited the Lightsaber in his right hand, leaving the Shoto inactive for now. He took a moment. There was a small hum in there air. A training remote. Three of them. He took his stand. His front was facing forward, lightsaber pointed upward at a fourty-five degree angle towards the Remotes. His feet were shoulder length apart, slightly bent. His left arm was slightly behind him, acting as a counter weight for balance. "Begin..."

As I considered what the master was trying to find, but my com beeping…
“Apologies, it seems someone needs me elsewhere. sayonara Mei-chi, Master-chi, may your swords stay sharp and sheathed”
With that i walked back towards the city… and when i thought i was out of earshot i opened the call
“Yes Kryze, what is it.”

With his choice made, Xenas turned to his teacher and ignited the Lightsaber in his right hand, leaving the Shoto inactive for now. He took a moment. There was a small hum in there air. His feet were shoulder length apart, slightly bent. His left arm was slightly behind him, acting as a counter weight for balance. "Begin..." The three remotes began to drift apart immediately, one fired at Xen's head, another his waist, the third shot at his right knee. None of the bolts would cause more than what equated to a rug burn if they hit exposed skin, but those are painful enough to prevent the same mistake being made twice, usually. The remotes moved again as soon as they had fired their first bolt. The first, on the left, moved down and to the left, hovering about a quarter of a meter over the floor, at Xenas' 10 O'Clock, only two and a half meters away from his starting position. The second, in the middle, moved up and forward, stopping at three meters above the floor, and about five meters from Xenas, at his 12 O'clock. The third, and right, remote moved in a clockwise arc, maintaining the initial height of one meter from the floor and the initial distance of eight meters, it paused at Xenas' 2 O'clock.
Shihab stood by the door, watching quietly to see how the youngling would deal with multiple, divergent, threats. There were several parts to this test, the first focused on Xenas' ability to defend himself, the second, would be how, or even if, he would turn the tables. His training had only just begun, and this test was not a pass-fail test, merely one to gauge the youngling's abilities.

(Apologies, but there is no Infirmary Thread and this seemed better than putting it in the High Council Spire.)
Infirmary (at night)
One of the Temple speeders carrying Jedi Knight Nik Arreni, Healer Mei Ondreyu, Master Ael Jade, Padawan Terra Kiros, and the unconscious female known as Anshara returned late at night from Coruscant's Underworld and slid back into the Temple hangars into its specified parking slot. The whine of repulsorlifts cut out abruptly as the speeder settled down and the pilot cut all power. Jade jumped out first with a concerned look over at Mei. The Healer got out shortly thereafter and between the two of them, levitated the unconscious girl out of the speeder. The others followed behind as the small procession quickly made its way to the Temple Infirmary.
Mei calmly took charge and told a couple of the orderlies to get Anshara fitted up for a stay in one of the unoccupied bacta tanks.
Some time later, the Healer looked up from her datapad into which she was inputting all the information regarding Anshara that she had gathered so far, including the information that Nik Arreni was able to give her. With Anshara's form obscured by the blue-ish bubbling bacta fluid, the girl's recovery was most likely a matter of time.
"My thanks to all of you," Mei smiled tiredly at the three other Jedi, "and welcome to Coruscant."
Jade replied calmly, "It was no trouble," then turning to Terra, "We've got assigned quarters over in the residential wing." It would be wise to get some rest, but she'd see what, if anything, the younger woman had to say. Jade wasn't going to order her to her room or anything. She remembered full well what it was like on the first night visiting a new and exciting place. Exploration was often called for, and enjoyed all the more without the presence of one's Master however in sympathy that individual might be. At this point she trusted Terra not to needlessly wander into danger without an advance notice, although there had been that troubling incident with the Smoke Demon.

Terra wasn't sure she had done very much to aid the rescue of Anshara, but she gave a slight bow to Mei anyway and turned back to Jade. They had rooms now in the Temple, but Terra wasn't sure she would be able to sleep right away. She hadn't really exerted herself during the brief mission, and she was still bothered a little by the sudden appearance and equally sudden disappearance of that old man. The name he had given didn't sound familiar at all, but that was the story of her life. She still didn't remember so much...
She sighed softly, pushing away the thoughts of her amnesia."Um...can I look around a little more? I'm not really that tired..."

"Of course," Jade replied, straightening her robes as she spoke, "Call me if you need help. I mean it." A half-smile twitched at her lips. At the same age she'd preferred to go it alone, even when help would have been the wiser choice. She turned to the others, "Goodnight." And then left, heading off to her assigned room over in the residential wing.

Nik had been leaning against the wall, arms folded in front of himself as the infirmary resembled a beehive until Anshara had been put in the bacta tank. He bowed as Jade left, then smiled at Terra, as he stood up. Walking over to Mei, he quietly wished her a good night with a friendly clasp of her shoulder as she bent over her work at her desk.
Then, heading over towards where Terra was still standing, he looked at her for a moment, "I'm Nik Arreni." They hadn't really had time to be introduced earlier so he took care of that now. Then, ruffling his dark auburn hair ruefully, he moved towards the door, "You hungry?" he inquired, fully ready to get out of the infirmary. As a Zeltron, moods affected him, and a sick ward with its undeniable aura of sterile cleanliness mixed with lingering feelings of disease and pain, unsettled him much more than he liked.

It sounded to her like he was asking her out to dinner, but she had planned on spending the rest of the evening by herself. Then again, Jade would probably suggest that she go out and have a little fun, so long as she stayed safe. She chewed on her lip for a moment as she thought about it."Um...well...a little. I was gonna eat later though."

"No problem about that, Terra Kiros," he replied in a low voice, topped with a wink. And then, more seriously, "Perhaps a drink first? And if you've got questions about the Temple, maybe I can be of assistance. Personal tour guide, even?" He tugged his green vest into place and gallantly offered her his arm.

Terra had already gotten a brief tour of the Temple with Jade earlier in the day, but there hadn't been time to see everything after the sudden call to duty. Her initial plan had been to just explore on her own and center her thoughts, but now Nik was offering to take her along. Well...maybe it wouldn't be too bad to have company. She didn't know anyone else on Coruscant yet, so maybe now would be a good time to start making new friends.
She smiled."Um...sure. OK."Though Nik had offered her his arm, she didn't take it, preferring to just walk by herself.

Her reaction was much as he'd expected from what he had observed so far. But it didn't faze him at all. If anything, he was amused by it her determination, so different from many beings when confronted with a Zeltron. Frankly, he sometimes wondered what it would be like not to have a pheromonal advantage over others. One could never tell if someone was 'drugged' or--- he ended that line of thought, instead taking a turn down a nearby corridor within the Temple.
"If you aren't decided to stay within the Temple itself, there is a decent place that I know of, not generally filled to the brim with Jedi though."
He looked at her sideways, "You seem to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Generally people have to grow into that. Maybe you could use a break from all this." He suggested. Every so often it was healthy to take a step back and reflect on things. It was often amazing just how much perspective a little distance made. And besides, he had questions about tonight, things that it might be better not to discuss in a place like this. Sometimes greater privacy can be found in the middle of a crowd.

Terra was now almost certain that Nik was trying to take her out for dinner, an idea she found...intriguing. Or maybe that was just her usual bout of nerves when meeting someone for the first time. Lately she had been getting better at not going into panic mode whenever she talked to someone she didn't know, but that didn't mean that she was no longer nervous. Hopefully Nik wouldn't pick up on that, but then, Zeltrons had a knack for reading people...
She shrugged."I dunno. I came here to finish my Trials so I don't know if I should be...taking breaks..."Despite her curiosity about what the city could offer in terms of fine dining, she still wasn't sure she wanted to just go off by herself with a stranger. Again, the nerves talking...he was a Jedi, after all. There wouldn't be any danger."Actually...yeah. I'll go with you."

"Not that kind of break," he assured her, "I'm guessing your somewhere in the middle of your Trials then? Already completed one or two, but not really looking forward to the others? Well, looking forward to them but dreading them all the same, most likely. I did." Nik was attempting to make her comfortable as he sensed that she was a bit conflicted about it. Probably it was the same mixture of wanting to pass, plus worry about failing, plus uncertainty about one's abilities to live up to others' expectations. It was pretty common he'd found.
He stopped dead in the corridor, and stepped around to face her gaze directly, "Look, I don't know what you've heard about Zeltrons," paused a second, a faint blush tingeing his reddish skin though hardly noticeable in the night-time lighting, "actually, I can guess, but there's a bit more to it than that." With a gentleness that most probably wouldn't expect from a male, he reached out and brushed her hair back behind her ear, "I won't hurt you, and I certainly won't--hem, uhm, do anything against your own will."
Stepping back and resuming their former direction down the hall, he continued, "So, relax, and enjoy a night out. This isn't fine dining, ...it's the Outlander, a nearby nightclub. You're from Corellia, right?" He queried, "It's not nearly as exclusive as your famous Lastdark, not by a long shot, but it's alright for a good time and libations that aren't poisonous. The sabaac is good, and it's nearly always exciting."

Terra was surprised at how forward Nik was being with his intentions, though she was thankful that they were noble ones. One probably couldn't have expected less from a Jedi though, but she did appreciate his honesty. She had read about the Zeltrons and some of their...natural abilities. In any case, it did make her feel better.
She nodded when he asked if she was from Corellia, and then went on about the club he wanted to go to. Terra hadn't actually set foot in Lastdark, or really any other club for that matter. Her work with the Jedi often prevented her from frequenting such locales. It seemed she was about to make her first ever visit to a club.
She smiled."Sounds like fun."She walked beside him down the corridor."Also...thanks for being honest with me."

"Why would I have lied to you?" Nik shrugged. He avoided outright lies. Stories tended to become so complex that they came back to haunt the teller. Truth was much easier to remember, and he'd found that not telling the whole truth at times served his purposes better than a falsehood would have done. People are so eager to see and hear what they expect and wish for.
Outside the Temple the cool night air hit him in the face. It was refreshing and invigorating. They caught a passing air-bus heading out into Coruscant's Uscru Entertainment district. Nik caught one of the handrails and grabbed it, anchoring himself against the swaying of the vehicle in the traffic lanes.

Terra giggled a little when Nik asked why he would have lied, and to be honest, she could think of quite a few reasons. She didn't say that, of course, as she did trust him. He was a Jedi after all. She drew her cloak around her as they stepped outside the Temple and she followed him as they caught a bus to take them to where this club was. Honestly, she was a little scared, but also excited about it. Maybe this would be fun after all...

Corridors Leading to the Residential Wing (wee hours of the morning after Anshara's rescue) Activity never really came to a halt on Coruscant as it was the bustling center of the New Galactic Republic; however, around the Jedi Temple at this time, there was a subdued calm atmosphere. Nik helped Terra off the 'bus and the two of them headed back into the Temple. There was no official curfew, particularly as she'd been out with a Knight so there weren't any issues getting back inside. Nik waved at the Sentinels on guard in passing.
Outside Terra's room, which was near Jade's as masters and padawans generally tended to be given adjoining quarters, he stopped."Well, here you are. You'll either sleep very well tonight, or very badly. I hope it's the former." The Zeltron smiled at her, gripping her upper arm quickly in a gesture of goodnight that did not presume upon their acquaintance at this stage. If anything did happen, he thought it should not be under the influence of alcohol. He sensed that Terra was the kind of person who would ultimately regret that sort of thing."See you 'round, lass." He winked deliberately, "Night," as he headed off down the corridor toward his own room on a lower level than theirs. Knights without padawans generally bunked in a barracks type atmosphere. It was one of the things that subtly encouraged them to take on padawans of their own.

Terra sighed softly, a little disappointed that the night was over already, but she was a Jedi and she couldn't afford to shirk her duties due to a night out. Hopefully she would be able to get some sleep after all the excitement that had gone on tonight...
She smiled."Good night..."Sighing again, Terra opened the door to her room and went inside./span]

Jedi Temple Infirmary (several days later) Faint light tinged the windows along one side of the medical bay within the Infirmary. The quiet of the preceding night was disturbed only by the faint beeping of various machines completing their tasks.
Mei Ondreyu walked through the in-patient ward and turned down into the intensive care unit, carefully balancing a cup of piping hot stimcaf. She handed it to the orderly on duty and asked after their patient in the bacta tank. Anshara seemed to be steadily healing, but it would take some time. Mei tapped a notification that blinked up at her from her datapad and walked over to the bacta tank. Standing there she gazed at the girl within, so young, almost a woman... hair floating around her face in an ethereal cloud, her features hidden behind the breathing mask.
Eventually she would have questions. She only hoped the girl would be able to face the long path that seemed to be stretching out in front of her even while she was unconscious.

* After taking the lift down from the hangers to the main entrance of the Temple Rowans takes a few steps out and gazes at the entrance of the structure. It has been 16 years since he was last here, for though he left a padawan he had now come back a Master and ready to continue his duties as a jedi to the order. Rowan pushes back the sleeve of his left robe and presses a button on wrist com and sends a signal to the Temple's main communication center simply stating the a new arrival was out front and looking for direction in the temple. Rowan now waits.
